Union Inn in Leicester

It was ok but I wonder why their hygiene rating us a 4 and not at 5. It put me off eating there at the buffet. Staff were friendly however. Toilets were very small, only 1 shared.

Nice welcoming management and bar staff as a big garden, and I know they do cobs for a quick bite to eat. I'm not sure about hot food, though

Great pub, bar made are nice, landlord is a great man to speak to, beer’s nice, amazing cobs, good garden, popular in the summer times, have a bouncy castle some times when it’s at the peak of the weather, overall brilliant pub.

Absolutely fantastic. Came in over Easter and had a really nice time. Good beer friendly staff and genuinely nice place relax. Definitely coming again.

Great pub , good pint , easy atmosphere

Well, we had a little problem with the fancy bicycle lane curbs when getting into town. Suffice it to say, we needed two new tires for our rental vehicle. Luckily, we stopped here and the manager, Steve, his staff, and the clientele, could not have been any nicer. My wife had a beer and after I learned "iced tea" is not a thing in England, I got a lemonade. Steve refused to take any money for the 2 drinks. He also introduced us to a friend and patron, Andy. Andy is the local tire guy (Handy for Tyres is his shop) and had a couple used tires that were exact matches, and all was solved.

Really friendly welcoming pub with a good soul to it, landlord was brilliant and the lady behind the bar was friendly and super welcoming too. Highly recommended

To quiet for me but nice little boozer

I didn't notice any thing about food but the beers were good !!

Great pub, friendly atmosphere with a lovely beer garden. Lots of chairs and table to sit at. Plus their own bouncy castle for kids . My mums local as well

I'm not a regular to the pub, but when I go in there is a friendly welcome, beer good, snacks and variety of rolls 🤗, sit on your own or people will make you feel welcome if you want.

Still one of the best real pubs left in Leicester, cracking pint of Pedigree, real homemade crusty cobs, always a pleasure to go back, friendly and helpful staff always polite, keep it up please, there's not many left like this.

Nice Friendly place for a local pub got to know a few people I go here as a local after work doing my pallet furniture business just to let of steam and relax. I look forward to seeing people I know come in there to talk to .Normally have a pint of Redstripe and ring or message people on my phone

A friendly local pub with good beers.

Enjoyed a fabulous evening at The Union with a friend. A Traditional public house. Very welcoming. Locals great. With the added bonus of a great Karaoke. All thanks to Joe. It must have been something else as Even I got up and Sang!!. I heartly recommended it. The Staff very friendly.

Came on a surprisingly quite Friday night. Staff are friendly and the juke box is good. It is very quite when there isn’t music on. The garden is big great for the summer

Went at 1.30 pm with 3 colleagues , just 4 other customers in whole place ,however it was raining cats n dogs. Lounge bar very chilly. Had soft drink but colleagues had draft ales & lager which they said was very good. Only food on offer was cling film wrapped rolls which were good value. Will return .

This really is a local...I've been visiting it for more than thirty years... Most people walk there....and there is huge outdoor seating area....which is used extensively in the summer....staff are friendly and efficient...it's a really good place to go for a quick pint....the food is good as well

Popped in for a few with the parents as they were visiting the area, have always enjoyed the union previously however on this visit there were a number of issues that makes me wonder what has happened to the union, both my parents couldn't get the drinks they wanted as didn't have in stock so had to settle for something else, put some songs on jukebox to create a little atmosphere as there wasn't any, the barstaff then turned down the volume so we couldn't hear our songs unless it was one the barstaff liked and then the volume would be turned back up again, outside smoking area, well pretty disgusting, wherever we Sat, a large amount of cigarette butts under our feet, tables filthy and general area needed sweeping. Toilets......sodden, had to stand on "water" and tissue in order to reach the toilet. Called last orders at 10.30pm on a Sat night, said thanks and goodbye to staff member, had no response whatsoever. Very dissatisfied with the whole experience and won't be taking my parents there again.

Grt place to drink we were up from London on course never been before warm welcome from customers and staff watch Leicester champion league match there grt fun

Popped in to watch the match, rough local boozer full of dodgy Foxes. Beer was ok and cheap enough, bar lady was friendly enough, not one to pop in with the wife and kids, fine if you are in watching the match and not too bothered about surroundings or drinking buddies!

Friendly staff, sky sports and bt sports for all games, a decent pint of Carling with plenty of other lagers and bitters (including cask) available. Free hot dogs for city games and put roasts, black pudding and sausages out on bar on a Sunday...nice touch!
