This should be such a gem as it is in a wonderful room and one of the great historic buildings of London - but it is ruined by the incredibly slow service. I live close by and regularly look in but I've almost given up as it can often take 10-15 minutes to get served with a cup of tea, even when there is only a small queue. The problem seems to be with the management rather than the individual staff as they appear to only rota one person to take the orders, make the coffees from a painfully slow machine, heat and serve food and clean tables. In the past fortnight I've taken three lots of friends and each time we gave up. What makes it worse is that the prices are high for food and there are often two members of staff at the other desk for souveniers, doing nothing but gossiping. Is it beyond the management to increase the staff, especially at weekends? Apart from anything else, it is painful to see the stressed looks on the faces of your staff.

Our visit was lovely, made even more so by the willing and cheerful staff. Our thanks especially to Kimberly (I think that was her name). We had an enjoyable afternoon cream tea before visiting the Painted Hall. Cheered up an otherwise drab November day.

Reasonable selection of cakes, sandwiches, salads and other hot and cold options also a variety of hot and cold drinks. On this occasion only opted for a coffee ahead of our visit to the amazing painted hall. Reasonable sized seating area which when we visited was reasonably clean and tidy.

What a great pub. We were a big group of cyclists visiting the pub for the first time. 100% thumbs up from us all. The food was great, served in the lovely garden & the staff couldn’t do enough to make us welcome. Definitely recommend the Park Tavern if you’re in Eltham.

My family went here for a Sunday roast. Four of us had Sunday roast and one had risotto. The pork belly was great, the potatoes out of a packet, the Yorkshire pudding was cold and the risotto was so dry. They got three orders for drinks wrong. Absolutely do not waste your money on this place.
