Ubereats messed up with their drivers twice so Uncle Sams sent one of their own staff to me. Amazing service, and my food was incredible as usual!

A Brighton institution, and legendary burger bar that I have been coming to since I arrived in Brighton in 2021, been a regular at the Carden branch for 15 years. Food is solid, reliably well made, very tasty, adequately portioned and great value for money. Burgers are very meaty, decent chips, and nice milkshakes. If it wasn’t great, we wouldn’t keep coming back. The recent makeover looks really good too.

We placed an order for delivery. Uncle Sam's only deliver via Uber. We ordered £37 of food and had only a milkshake and two fries delivered. Driver claimed to have no other deliveries and told me to call Uncle Sam's. When I called them they said "nothing we can do. Call Uber" Bad service from both companies!!

So much better than all the other Uncle Sam's. Food nice and hot, even by the time we got home, Quick service, friendly staff. Nice one!

New owners , didn’t make order correctly…. Rubbish attitude by staff …. NEVER WILL I SET FOOT IN THIS SHOP AGAIN

This one is quite simply the best of all the Uncle Sams restaurants. They all make a delicious burger but, over the years, I've found this one to be the most consistent. You have to try a double chilli burger with extra chilli - it's an awesome experience!

The food was very nice but it’s sad that they don’t do banana milkshakes anymore. The service did take a long time because I think they’re were beginners but sort from that there food was brilliant. Very aesthetic atmosphere.

What happened to this place! First time ordering from there today in awhile, the food arrived cold, half of it was missing.. The onion rings arrived burned. Hire better staff and management.

Fast and efficient service in-store or delivery. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The burgers are great, particularly the chilli one! The kitchen is clean and the restaurant's had an amazing re-fit. Highly recommend

I've previously left you good reviews on Uber but tonight has been terrible, regardless whether it's your fault or Uber.. you are not answering the phone and we're missing 3 meals, this is unacceptable, I'd like to give you the chance to make it right but since I can't contact you I'm leaving a bad review and won't be ordering again. What a shame!

Use to live on uncle sam's when I lived in Brighton, so after moving away many years ago, was great to try 2 again! Please open one in lewes!!!!

Always mess up the order. Either forget something or give the incorrect item. Run by chavs.

Staff were good natured, cheerful and professional. Food was spot on! Highly recommend this place. If your arriving by car you just have to dump it in a residential street somewhere nearby which isn't great but worth it for the food.

The blonde woman working this afternoon was so rude to her staff! Slamming things around, snapping at people for nothing. Get over yourself, you work in a burger bar. I get depressing your life must be, but don't take it out on other people.

Ordered a plain hamburger and chips, the plain hamburger was really nice and the chips were the best chips I’ve ever tasted in my life, in my opinion, this is the most underrated restaurant in the whole of Brighton, definitely recommend, the minus 1 star was because the staff could be a little more engaging, I would give it 4.5 stars if I could!

The beat burgers I recommend the blt or customising one of your own I had a thousand island with pineapple fantastic. Not the friendliest service they tend to pretend your not there when waiting for your order and I rang ahead to preorder my food and they answered the phone to tell me they don't take orders on the phone,! Why bother?

Poor customer service... So, been here a couple of times. Food is good and fresh shakes are great for the kids. Normally solid. I wanted to add a plain burger bun (for my kid) to my large order for the whole family. The server taking my order did not know how to put this through so asked the manager (I guess?). The manager(?) told the server to put it through as a veggie sandwich (sorry this is boring for me too but there we go) which costs £3.95. Obviously, I said that wasn't going to work as it is just plain bread. Could she charge me for fries or something instead? The server went to check. Discussion. Nope. That was the only option. Really? I'm about to spend about nearly £30. Can't do me a bun for less than £3.95? Nope. Okay. So I cancelled the order and went to MacDonald's instead. Sad times. Thanks for sticking with the moan. Poor customer service took me away from a local business.

We ordered burgers. Live close by. Took about 40 minutes as Uber had another delivery. Burgers were tasty but cold. Chips were brown, almost burnt, dry as if reheated and Stone cold. Would have returned meals but going out so not possible.Not a happy experience!! Will go elsewhere.

Will never use again rude ignorent staff food was cold half cooked burger chips cold after 15 seconds leaving the shop. I'm getting in touch with health and safety.

The best fast food burger you can get. Brilliant value, loads of varieties, fresh salad and a proper meaty burger. The fella on the counter who served us was really busy but efficient and friendly. Recommended!

Tasty fries and delicious burgers

I cannot wear a mask for medical reasons when I told this to the manager he told me that he has the right to refuse, he then gave a delivery order to a delivery driver and told me the driver has a medical condition and does not need to wear one. So uncle Sams sends delivery drivers to peoples doors without masks. Really thing they should thing about the safety of customers and not the pennies in the pockets.Uncle Sams Hollingbury Brighton

Hit and miss, seems to be that it depends on who's working, times it's the best and times it's the worst. Forgetting parts of your order seems to be a thing though unfortunately, not sure how this happens when it's on a order screen.

Came here as a last resort due to 7Bone and Five Guys having a wait of over an hour. We should of come here first because the food is top notch and you never go wrong with an Uncle Sams. The staff were friendly and polite as well as being patient to understand me through the face mask and other covid protocols. Unfortunately we couldn’t eat in the restaurant so instead we stood outside in Gale force winds and devoured our Texas burgers and milkshakes. The food was piping hot and our order was prepared very quickly. If you’re on the fence then you have to give it ago.

Uncle Sam's on Carden Avenue is an odd place - it has security bars in place at the tills that speak of problems and give it a strange atmosphere, but the Veggie Deluxe burger is scrummy :)

Undoubtedly the best burger shop in the UK. I have moved to Newhaven now but still get cravings for uncle Sam's cheeseburger and milkshake. I'm suprised the banana milkshake is legal it tastes unbelievably delicious. When this lockdown clears I'm heading straight to uncle Sam's Price could be a bit cheaper though

I used to treat myself to an uncle Sam's in the 80s when I had money so when I was in Carden ave in December I stopped and got one and it was like i had never been away, still amazing flavours

I've just been to Carden Avenue and ordered a Veggie Samwich with no pickles and just a little bit of mayo. What I got was a lettuce sandwich with lots of mayo!! There was NO CHEESE and I saw a little bit of red mixed with the lettuce and mayo which must have been the thinnest slither of tomato I've ever seen. The person serving was very polite but the person doing the food can't follow instructions and clearly needs training. What an absolute waste of money. I ate it as I couldn't be bothered to drive back to get a refund or ask for another one.

The veggie burger I ordered was literally just lettuce and mayo...they said the veggie burger doesnt actually include a burger....what is this world we live in??

Considering the cost, we had a less than average quality meal. The burger buns seemed thin and soggy. Poor quality, I'm sorry to say. Some of the tables hadn't been cleaned and cleared. Not a good impression!

It was OK, handy when you don't feel like cooking

I had fond memories of this Uncle Sams when it opened way back in the 80's. As with some holiday destinations it can be fatal to revisit old haunts and that was the case here. Whilst my culinary tastes have moved on over the last thirty odd years, dear old Uncle Sams haven't, either that or my salt and raw onion tolerance is much lower than it used to be.

The burger upset my stomach within minutes of eating.
