Really excellent service, best milkshakes, and the best wraps

I’ve regularly enjoyed meals at Umami’s Southsea restaurant, where the food is consistently excellent. However, ordering takeaway from the Fareham branch has been disappointing. They almost always forget to include the drinks with the kids’ meals, and the last three chicken bubble wraps I ordered were poor—chewy chicken, dry wrap, and barely any jerk sauce, leaving the wrap falling apart on opening. Given the price, I expect the same quality as Southsea, but unfortunately, the Fareham branch doesn’t meet those standards.

I loved umami until it gave me and a loved one food poisoning

We use to order fairly regularly from Umami the last few occasions we have orderd it has become worse, missed drinks are one thing, but missed items and cold food smothered in sauce that led to a soggy wrap, chips were wet and soggy after no doubt being left on the side waiting for the food to be prepared . I called to complain and was told I would receive a refund on the Monday but guess what nothing doing there. Very poor food and experience.

Driver found the wrong house and claimed nearby and left me stood in the street for another 10 minutes. Waited an hour and a half for nothing. Usually really good but reading recent reviews I'm not the only one having this problem lately.

Delivery- was earlier then shown on app which was nice, despite this food was like warm at most, out right cold at worst even when only a 5 min drive from restaurant.

So so good. The vegan options are so tasty and the chips are perfection. Service was great and they were very helpful in general. Would definitely recommend.

Have ordered this evening and very disappointed with the standard of food which is usually quite good but the order this evening was cold chip were like cold rubbers and my beef wrap was cold mrs falafel wrap also and little boys kids burgers cold really not good enough for the price !!! Think we’re done here

I have,and I cannot stress this enough,NEVER had anything but quality food from these guys. Their chicken is lush and their burgers are always tasty. The portion size is good and everything is seasoned well. If you enjoy food Umami Street food is where you want to go

Tried this place about 18mths ago and the food was not the greatest and said I would never go back. My partner made me change my mind and glad i did as it was excellent

Waiting an hour after expected delivery time

5th burger Lebanese style is amazing. Always have great deals even on delivery services. Some of the best milkshake flavours around. Try the rosemary fries. They've made the odd mistake with my orders here and there but have always had a good resolution.

Ordered from here tonight and wrote on delivery note not to add certain things to the burgers and it still came with it all. They gave us the wrong chips and the burgers were cold. When I rang up I was told the food was packed straight away and that he ‘wasn’t going to argue with me’ . Awful service and very disrespectful to customers, basically calling me a liar . Won’t order from here again.

Love this place. Always order an umami burger and piri piri fries. Burger is delicious, unique and good value compared to other takeaways. Fries are crisp and delivery is always quick.

Love the flavour of the burgers - best ever but the last few deliveries have been stone cold. Great for the coleslaw but rubbish for burgers, fries and corn.

Turned up super quick using Uber eats. Was so tasty. The rosemary fries are a must and the Philadelphia and sweet chilli dip is insane.

If I could give no stars I would. Ordered the bubble chicken wrap picked the flavour they forgot to give the flavour, it was bland as anything. On top of that the chicken I did have was bare minimum. Looks like the restaurant will stuff the wrap with salad and cheese to make it look like you're getting your moneys worth. Very disappointing. The sweet potato fries were worse, burnt to the point where it was nearly black. How you can get fried potato wrong beats me. Didn't eat the food. Was a total waste of money. Will definitely not return.

Poor quality food, small portions and an expensive price. Very disappointing. £18 for £4 worth to dry grilled chicken is a joke. Doesn’t even come with dip. There is a reason this place doesn’t have a tripadvisor page.

Umami is an amazing takeaway that does burgers and wraps. Portion sizes are MASSIVE and the food is always hot and freshly prepared. The chaps that work in the store are always super friendly and welcoming and I've never waited longer than 10 minutes for an order. Would highly recommend if you haven't tried, one of the best takeaways in Fareham, like a better quality Nandos. Would absolutely recommend the chicken bubble wrap and the piri piri fries, no need to go large because it will be huge. Thanks for all the lovely meals

As a family of 6 we have been using this restaurant 2 or 3 times a month for about 2 years. Food is awesome peri peri chicken has great depth of flavour. If you like Nando's I would give that 5 out 10 of this place 9.5 My kids love the food also kids meals also top notch. Burgers best available locally. It costs a bit more but quality is remembered longer than price we never have any left overs. Give it a go you won’t be disappointed

Ordered a takeaway directly through the website. It was delivered on time and still hot. The food was delicious. We couldn’t be how tasty and good quality it was. Thank you umami we will be ordering again very soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Always tasty food, Lebanese salad is a nice healthy takeaway option with tasty houmous. Free Lebanese flavoured half chicken we received with our order is also delicious and worth a try!

Awful. Frozen food heated up. Burgers were dry, we ordered chicken wings and got re heated frozen chicken breast. Waste of £40. Would never use again .

Cold food this isn't the first time, don't expect this when your ordering £30 + food everytime from a takeaway, had a couple of nice meals but they always got it wrong

Delicious. Bubble Wrap, with a Grilled Marks Salad and Double Pitsburger along with Rosemary Fries for our family tonight! Never had any complaints with the service / delivery of Umami in Fareham. Polite, prompt and good food.

Our order took 2 hours for over priced below average junk my wife ordered the chicken bubble wrap was absolutely dripping with sauce and a cold very small portion of sweet potato fries and at a ridiculous cost. I had the primal burger dry meat I'd only feed to a dog. When you call to ask about your food your get what sounds like a confused teenager who knows nothing and wasn't even offered any extras for the time it took nor an apology what a load of trash.

Ordered for the first time for delivery today, had an umami primal burger plus some sides to share with my partner, the delivery was very prompt and the delivery guy was incredibly polite and kept all social distancing ect (I'm shielding) now the negative.... burger was incredibly over cooked and bone dry, to be honest inedible, I rang umami to complain and was passed to a very unhelpful manager who told me to to order another more saucy burger in the future, I apologise but I have been a chef for many years and if meat is cooked correctly then it can be incredibly juicy and tasty without sauces... I have to say after this treatment I will never order from umami again and would in courage others to do the same.

Food is absolutely delicious, would recommend the 12 wings ( half hot and half medium). On the most recent order the did forget half the wings and once I called them and notified them what had happened. They delivered the missing wings and gave a complimentary milkshake ! Great service. Would also recommend their milkshakes.

Got takeaway from here a few weeks ago, had a family dinner - I had the chicken salad! Was delicious, will be back.

Worth all the money spent. Portions are fantastic and the burgers are huge. Filling but not sickingly filling. Best milkshake I've ever had. Can't wait to order again

Freshly cooked food and friendly staff

Really enjoy this place. The food is always fantastic and the delivery driver is really pleasant. Nice having a take away without the guilt as it seems a lot more healthy. U tend to go for the wraps and always packed full of chicken and salad.

Over priced. Excessive waiting times and the old bloke on the phone hasn’t got a scooby doo. I ordered from here twice in 2 weeks and ordered the Pittsburger I stressed I wanted only bbq sauce and onion and cheese. It came with everything but sauce and onion. Ok 2 occasions ! Also I paid for extra cheese and surprise surprise no extra cheese. I ordered one burger , fries , extra hamloumi and it came to just one £20!!!!! For one person. Shocking. The guy on the phone is just a ok man that doesn’t actually seem to listen to your specific requests. Shame because the food is actually ok but after giving you 2 chances I would be a fool to give you another chance.

Food was good once we got it. Ordered at 9:10pm received at 10:33 after an about 10pm delivery time given via Just Eat. Order was accepted at 9:12pm but ticket said 10pm. I phoned at 10:10pm to make sure it was coming, was told it was with driver. Phoned 10:30pm was passed to another driver on phone. He was telling me all kinds of tales of why food hadn't turned up. Other driver couldn't find us, they didn't have my number to contact, that Just Eat system isn't working and order sent via a Scottish resturant at first. Driver turned up and found us without instruction while I was on the phone. Just tell your customers the truth. You were busy the order got lost for a bit. Just Eat system has not failed with other resturants. You have to physically accept the order from Just Eat and give them estimate time of delivery. You did not update Just Eat. Don't accept if you are too busy so that people have a choice to go somewhere else. 1hr23 for something 5 mins down the road. 40-50 at the most.
