I have walked past this many times and finally had dinner one evening. Small family run restaurant. Limited seats. Cosy. Clean. Big menu from sushi, to sashimi, noodles, curry and more. I had the seafood bibimbap with a fried egg added. It was very nice. Well presented and very generous in portion size. Piping hot and freshly made. They don't put too much gochujang sauce but give you extra on the side so you can add more if you want depending on your taste. Staff are generally pleasant. The gentleman who appeared to be the owner was very nice. Reasonably priced. They don't take AMEX. Would recommend.

Disappointing. Sushi was brown (avocado), mentioned to waitress who said “ok” and carried on. I didn’t eat and waited for other dishes to arrive. After 3 other tables who came in after us got their food I got up, went to the front and asked. Another man apologised, checked our order and brought the 2 other dishes asap. In the meantime the waitress came back asking if we wanted tap water and I said no, but the sushi is brown and not happy. She remarked it was fine and fresh. 🙄 Then the man came back, apologised, said she was new and made me another sushi set. They didn’t charge for service. Even if this didn’t happen, I wouldn’t recommend the place. The quality of food is not great and it’s not cheap! See other reviews for Japanese/sushi places I WOULD recommend in the area.

The food at UDON Cafe are awesome, fresh and tasty and there are many menu options to choose from. What impressed us was the ambience of the restaurant with its strong family vibes. We greatly enjoyed our meals there. The staff service at the place was excellent and the chef is friendly with the customers. Great atmosphere with really nice people. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Great tonkotsu ramen, super quick delivery. Top work.

I ordered salmon teriyaki yakisoba and the chilli squid. The salmon was overcooked and looked unappealing to start with, but when I cut it open it was grey and looked worrying. The squid was cold, soggy, overly chewy (more so than it should be) and while I tried a few as I was hungry, I stopped because it made me feel ill. I never leave complaints usually but this was shockingly disgusting

Udon Cafe - the soup broth base was AMAZING. Thank you, we're of asian/Chinese descent and have had trouble finding a good ramen delivery for ages so your broth and meat was amazing. *** HOWEVER *** we had to give you a 3-star rating as the noodles were of such poor quality and it really let you down. We would be more than happy to pay extra (upto £12) if your noodles were better quality. The noodles we got seemed like those store-bought 15p packet noodles!

The food was absolutely terrible. I couldn't eat it, had to throw it all in the bin. Uncooked prawns, the soup was just disgusting, I am just gonna ask for a refund because this kind of food shouldn't even give it to a dog. Lots of money for abysmal ramen.

The restaurant gives the opportunity for the food to be paid for in cash. It was delivered around 40 minutes early and the driver reached my property without any issues about directions. The food is delicious and it's great value for money!

One of the best resturants in Hampstead!

Tasty and generous portions of food at a very good price. The driver found my property (which is a new development) without any problems.

The food was excellent in taste, quality and quantity! I even received spring rolls and extra tempura prawns on the house! The delivery person rang to verify where I live and delivered my order straight to the door.

Writing this review because I can't believe the rating! Absolutely delicious ramen, reasonably priced. Ordered our food and didn't have to wait long either - we ordered the chilli chicken and the udon cafe special. Very satisfying and flavourful. Lucky to live so close to it!

The food was good. We ordered chicken yakisoba with the meal deal, ramen with gyoza. Had asahi beer too. Yakisoba was good, 7/10 Ramen deal 7/10 Gyoza 8/10 Not bad for a place to have something warm to eat later in the day.

The sushi were OK. Only issue is it arrived 70 min late. You don't enjoy your dinner so much when it comes by the time you intended to go to sleep.

Came here on Sunday afternoon, nice rather quiet place. Efficient service and food, food amazing! Surprisingly tasty to be honest! Eel cucumber temaki was rolled to perfection. I recommend Sundubu Jjigae with plenty of seafood in it. I shall be back soon!

I am sorry to report that this really was a shocker. Having not received my order, I called the restaurant after an hour and 20 minutes of placing it to be told some fanciful story that "the driver had already delivered the food to a man outside" my front door. The restaurant then offered "as a favour" to redo my order, rather than cancelling. Once the food eventually arrived (more than 2 hours after placing the original order), the quality was fine. They did give 2 miso soups complimentary, which I felt was quite pathetic given how long we'd been waiting. Having just moved back to London from abroad, this was the first time in ages I'd used just-eat. I was hoping for something a bit better.

The food was quite cold when it arrived so we had to reheat. Otherwise it was very good.

It is not a Michelin or a fancy restaurant, but it n-as Really good value for money and the food is tasty. It is that comfy neighbourhood restaurant to which you come once a month and enjoy a nice food

We wanted to try something different...and this place delivered. Sushi, sashimi, pot stickers, noodle dishes were super. Sashimi was just about the best...Service was first-rate. Can't wait to ge back there.

Don't say it's tonkatsu or tonkotsu soup if it's just a dish washing water. Don't have a restaurant business if you can't make noodle soup better than two minutes noodle. Even yaki udo was bad. Are you using some premade sauce? The noodle was even overcooked so yeah, what a name..iron cafe. Two out of two terrible. Thanks for the free socky spring roll though. And thanks for fast delivery. Sorry for not expecting things 30 mins early and get yelled at by the delivery guy. Feel so special.

Great tasty food. I can’t stop going there. The tofu curry is absolutely to die for. And the veggie gyoza are the best in town. And let’s not forget the tea omg ❤️❤️❤️ The staff are wonderful and it’s a lovely cosy cafe (And great price) A definite yes.

Not impressed with the ramen at all.

Apart from delivering earlier than request so it arrived while I was in the shower, it was great :D Favourite local Japanese takeaway, I’m a fan!

If you order hot food in conjunction with sushi and it takes 20 minutes to deliver from leaving the restaurant, (which is 4 minutes away by bike), the heat transfer onto the fish and rice is not great. The Goza’s were stone cold and the sushi soggy. An entire salmon set was binned and it took over an hour to deliver from ordering. Not good.

I like the ramen. The broth is tasty, chasiew is good, pretty decent. The dumplings are quite average and not piping hot. Big plus that they provide free wifi. When one misses Asian fares in Madrid, this place is a good option. The service is pretty good, the staff can speak decent English and give recommendations. The menu is quite limited though. Definitely much more costly than eating these dishes in Japan or Asia. Br prepared. $f

Popped in for a quick lunch in the way home. Went for the seafood ramen and to say it was poor would be an understatement. Broth had no complexity or depth of flavour and the use of frozen seafood meant the overriding texture was one...

Food was cold when arrived, relatively tasteless and rubbery

Unfortunately the take away from Udon was very poor. It was 15 minutes later than it originally said. The quality of sushi was very poor and I didn’t want to eat some of it as it looked fairly unappealing. This is such a shame because normally from Udon the food is of good quality

The food needed to be reheated, The meat was a little too thin, The flavours were lovely & clean, I would have liked a choice of picking between rice or noodles. I would definitely order again, as it was good quality.

I love this place and it is my go to for a payday treat but today the fried elements were quite greasy and overdone, and the hosomaki roll had fallen apart by the time it arrived like it was thrown together in a hurry. I'm going to assume they were busy today and not hold it against them as the food was mostly still delicious and usually the quality is higher.

Unagi (eel) was really tasty and huge, best in my life! )) Udon was with vermicelli, Chinese style & no taste (forgot the sauce perhaps?), crispy rolls were trully addictive :) all delivered safely and with a smile. Overall enjoyed, will be ordering eel again! Thank you!

Service was very good, restaurant called to let me know part of my order was unavailable, then made up for it with extra food. BUT the sashimi was poorly cut. I was stabbed by fish bones 5 times (I am from New York and this has never happened with Japanese places back home). Very good service marred by poorly cut fish.

Sushi rolls were totally falling apart, like there was no effort put into it, and the hot food was luke warm at best. Very disappointing considering how much I paid! And it was delivered almost an hour early than I requested, luckily I was in to collect it.

Generally pretty good. The food was slightly below temperature and the batter on the chicken karaage could have been lighter.

Pre-ordered the food at 12ish, knowing full well that the restaurant wasn't open for delivery until 12:45. Order was immediately confirmed and we were given a delivery time of 13:15, great. Called the restaurant at 13:35 and was told it would be ten minutes. Food actually arrived at 14:25, after another phone call and being told it would be another ten minutes. Food was great but we might've just been so hungry that anything would've tasted good.

Fast delivery & good food! Only bad point was I’m pretty sure the ‘vegetable gyoza’ with the nasty dengaku bento actually contained pork (I’m not a strict vegetarian so it was fine for me, but might want to be careful for others’ sake in future)

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. Seen the place from a distance for years and was not convinced, however we gave it a shot this weekend, and whaddaya know, it was really quite pleasant. Food was tasty, no really! if a little under seasoned at times....

The grilled aubergine was a bit oily for my liking but otherwise the food was great, lovely miso sauce on the aubergine.

We've eaten in Udon Cafe few times since April 2017 and tried already nearly half of their menu. I've found the best Ramen in my life and Bibimbab (this is Korean dish, not Japanese, like the rest) was the best revelation of the last year....

Amazing selection of pan asian food. I am vegetarian and the menu catered to my requirements really well. Quick service, tasty food and good value for money makes this a definite 5 star restaurant!

It’s just eatable nothing special.

They delivered the wrong food and wouldn't refund the money. Just eat online chat was horrible, didn't look into the matter and then they left the chat. Said they would call me in 10 minutes. This was yesterday and I'm still waiting

30 mins was added to the delivery time (which was already an hour) and it was cold when it arrived.

1hr delivery time felt quite long but the food was very good just slightly tepid

I order at Udon cafe really regularly, yesterday I had to wait 2 hours to get my food (ordered at 7:15pm delivered at 9pm). A few days before I also tried to order and my command has been cancelled as the restaurant wasn't responding. Apart from those issues, food is good and delivery is most of the time fine.

The chicken in the chicken katsu was undercooked and not edible.

The delivery guy asked me for £2.50 cash and it never happened before. I was within 3 miles and order was over £20, so it should be free delivery. The delivery guy was quite rude when I refused to give him the cash. There were a few incidents before about delivery guys were rude from this restaurant. Seriously, they need to change the delivery company for them. Then the udon was in warm temperature. Generally the foods are ok, but the delivery service is very bad.

Had a nice quick lunch here today and we enjoyed it. Helpful staff and quick service in a nifty cafe set up. Conveniently located near Finchley Road tube station.

I ordered the food at 7.55, they scheduled to deliver it at 9.30, considered that the restaurant is 6/7 minute walk from my place is really too much. She the food arrived, the spring rolls were totally cold all stocked together, I tried to eat them but they were even hard to bite..u Miso soup was frozen too. Sushi fools were upside down and destroyed..
