Bento Ramen in Camden

Tried the place once out of curiosity and it quickly became one of my favourite places to eat in London. Staff is super friendly, atmosphere is nice and food is incredibly delicious

The food was terribly salty and the soup, beef, noodles was not eatable.

I like the food here but I'm giving it one star because there is a sign up saying they're closed for refurbishment and they haven't bothered to change this profile, so I had a wasted journey to Camden. Fortunately if you keep on walking towards Regents Park, there is a nice Indian restaurant on the other side of the road. So actually not a wasted journey after all!

BON! Tout d’abord, seul point “positif” le niveau culinaire.. Je m’explique. Pour ma part, j’ai pris des gyozas au poulet dont le goût était correct, pas incroyable mais correct. Ensuite maki (48), goût pas très présent mais sa passe et maki 51 très bon il faut le reconnaître! GROS DÉFAUT: le personnel !! La politesse? Bonjour? Non. Rien de cela, les deux serveurs n’en avaient rien à faire et déposait avec balourdise les plats. De plus, un mercredi soir vers 7:30PM, il n’y a globalement pas grand monde.. Cependant, sans notre demande et nos boissons à peine finies, le serveur a directement ramené l’addition nous incitant à partir alors que c’était censé être un moment incroyable en famille. Bref, commander et ne manger pas sur place si vous êtes intéressé.

So good, better than Wagamama easily, better food, better all round. Will be back soon.

Classic Japanese restaurant. Great ramen and all kinds of fish dishes. All to a very affordable price. Please try their plum wine. So sweet and tasty!!

Stumbled across this place by accident and was super happy with the find. The chicken teriyaki ramen was really good, would definitely come back again for this.

Food was ok. The toilets were dingy and reeked of cigarette smoke. The old guy serving us was rude - when taking our order he didn't even ask what we wanted but just made an "eh?' sound.

Very bad experience. Ramen tasteless and staff unfriendly coming at the table saying that we had to order in 1 minute because they were closing. Unfortunately, before going we called to make sure that it was fine so, they could have told us that they just wanted to close and they did not want any more costumers.

Had the classic tonkotsu ramen and added the chili oil from the table. Great service, great food, great ambience

I am never disappointed here. In fact it doesn't feel like a real trip to London without a stop at Bento Ramen

My best friend and I loved the place. The staffs were amicable and caring. The environment is very peaceful, and the layout is beautiful. The food is well presented, tasty and very filling, and don't get me started on the drinks. It was wonderful. Especially the one I asked for, Caplico - Japanese yoghurt drink; I would have asked for more if I wasn't so full. We'll go back again. We recommend it!

Lovely food and reasonably priced

I had ordered the sushi and bento which is excellent. Very creative sushi and the chicken teriyaki bento is so yummy too. Will back for the ramen next time.

Been going here for years and daughter loves the place, staff are friendly but not overbearing, when the owner is around service naturally perks up considerably. Bento Boz sets are very good value, £8 leaving you very full. I like the hot maki of various assortments they do, really really good. What is always a surprise is how small the bill is whenever we pay. Really hope they survive the current crisis, they deserve to!

What a great experience, the food in this place is outstanding. I went for the black ninja sushi and it is the best sushi I have ever had. I followed that with honey pork which was outstanding. They have a great menu selection, both hot and cold. I also asked for special fried rice which I did not see on the menu but they produced it, and it was delicious, give this independent a shot, It’s really is good.

The utmost disgusting customer service ever, we was served by an elder man whom when asked how long the food will be his response was " don't ask how long it will be shut up and wait". If you check the other reviews you will see people also complaining about this individual and the other elderly lady. If you want to go In, wait 40 minutes, receive bad customer service, have your evening ruined because you are about to get into an altercation with an elderly man then please come here. If you want to enjoy your evening there is many other restaurants available in camden within walking distance.

Got Deliveroo. Delicious sushi and fried rice. Definitely visiting again and will try other things on the menu

Bento Ramen is my favourite restaurant and place to get Sushi in Camden. It's great value for money, and it never disappoints.

Probably the WORST Japanese food restaurant in London that I've ever been to. Pretty small menu, annoyingly unfriendly what seemed to be the manager (the old guy handling payments) and above everything else, super overpriced food!! Taste is just mediocre but I had expected better for the steep price. Avoid at all cost!

Nice and quiet, don't mind it doesn't have a modern decor, you have to wait a few minutes for the food when you order certain dishes. For me, it's a sign they don't serve microwaved food from the fridge. All dishes were really delicious, and didn't expected the Golden Tofu with veggies in satay peanut dressing to taste so good, especially when I combined them with the sweet chilli sauce. Asahi dry beer is a must! Minus points: didn't feel any lemongrass in the stir fry beef and the maitre d' should explain some of the foods when it is obvious the client isn't accustomed with Asian menu. I had Asahi beer, Jasmin tea, Golden Tofu with satay peanut dressing, Fried vegetables Gyoza and Stir fry beef. With the tip included on the bill, was £31.

Great dim sum. Although the scallop dumplings could be a bit more flavorful. The mushroom dumplings are probably the best

First I'd like to adress the title. The three of us ordered 3 chicken teriyaki ramen and none of us were sure wether it was chicken or pork or who knows? Also the meagre and scarce slices of the unknown meat were half fat which tasted BAD. The food is the most important thing when you choose a place to eat and this ramen was terribly average(but not bad..still enjoyable). However, the squid dish we shared as a starter was delightful. So not all bad. When you enter, make sure you don't bother waiting to be seated, because you will just be hanging around like lemons and people will think you work for deliveroo or something. The ambience was pleasant and I enjoyed the lighting and decor of the place. Make sure you give the waiter a nice smile because the people there give him a hard time. And hopefully when you visit, it will be a bit nearer Christmas, so it won't be strange listening to Mariah Carey all I want for Christmas which was on there playlist. In all I'd say give it a visit but don't get ramen. Peace !

Not following social distancing guidelines. We were having dinner and the waiter sat another couple on our table right opposite us making it a really unpleasant dinner.

If you like sushi this is the place excellent menu and not over expensive...

Hygiene is not at a satisfying level especially in such a challenging time, plus extremely unfriendly staff (who is in charge of the payment) make this restaurant an unwanted choice of dining out, try AVOID this rude restaurant at all cost.

This place has great food and really good value for money, however the service is as described... rude waiting staff and long waits to order and pay. Asked for a drink off the menu and the waiter rolled his eyes and said “order again, too hard”. My friend order lycee and he replied again “oh god”. It actually was quite entertaining listening him be rude to customers. I would go back for the food, but don’t be easily offended by the service.

Ramen comes quick and isnt too pricey. Quality is basic, wouldn't have anything nice here. Floors are sticky, tables not especially clean. The two times I've been, they've tried to cheat a little bit on the bill, both times by adding a crazy service charge - in my case 25%!

My partner and I have been regulars at Bento Ramen ever since we stumbled in on a whim more than two years ago and we cannot rate the food and service high enough. We usually order the miso aubergine starter, which is mouthwateringly delicious, and the tofu teriyaki bento box, always perfect. The ramen is huge and my partner claims it's the best he's ever had, which is saying something. The food is always consistently excellent, tasty, hot, with great portion sizes and quick service. We love the staff, they are always friendly and efficient. Midweek early evening can be nice and relaxed, whereas weekends at dinnertime can be very busy and lively, so it caters to all moods. As an extra note, we have ordered food for takeaway and it is just as good!

We went for the eat out and help out scheme which is totally impressed with this restaurant. Fresh, good service and good price. Will come back again.

Stumbled upon this place when having to rush for food. The prices are very reasonable for London and the food is absolutely delicious! Full of flavour, perfectly cooked, I will definitely be visiting again! I think the gyozas may have been the best I've had in London so far...

I have been surprised to see good reviews for this Restaurant. The restaurant (and bathrooms) were dirty. Service was shockingly bad. Waiters were discussing another costumers looks loudly (not expecting anyone to understand). The food: badle defrosted dim sum and a bad noodle dish were very expensive. Avoid!

Tasty food, quick service but not could update the decor.

Surprisingly good experience here, went for a quick dinner with a few friends and was the first to arrive, there were only a few other tables taken but it did get a lot of trade as time went on. The menu is mostly Japanese with some Chinese dishes in there such as dim sum. We ordered a few different dishes, some starters of miso aubergine and wasabi prawns and some ramen and udon mains. The food there is really good, it's not too expensive but that doesn't detract from the quality. Prawns were plump and crisp. The noodles not oversauced with vegetables still having a slight snap to them as you bit in. Staff were friendly and topped up our tea with no complaints. We had a few latecomers who ordered drinks but not food and there wasn't an issue. In the end splitting the bill wasn't an issue either and we left having spent a good 90 minutes in there.

Don’t be put off by downbeat appearance of Bento Ramen - the food is great! Salmon tartar is fantastic - fresh and with a punchy dressing. Sashimi platter includes scallop and prawn. Endless supplies of green tea make a great lunch. Pricey as good Japanese food always is.

Today we had an amazing lunch! The only thing that ruined our meal was the manager shouting, she was extremely unprofessional, made everyone feel uncomfortable including our fantastic waiter. We love the food but not coming back.

Really amazing food and accessible for wheelchairs and power chairs to get in! Unfortunately no disabled toilet. If you're looking for authentic bento, this place has a killer menu! I recommend the tofu bento as it's absolutely gorgeous and great for A Winter's evening. Very close to the centre of camden (10min from the station)

Nice place, busy and nice atmosphere. Went for a quick sneaky lunch and had a lovely ramen and was lovely and warming and tasty. Chicken was really good! Had a little tamaki too as an extra and that was awesome too. Will go again and sample some mor sushi soon hopefully.

YOU SHOULD NEVER go to this restaurant if you are a Chinese. The service was very bad, one of the waiter came, put down the menu, didn't say a word, left. The food was average. After we finished the meal, he INSTANTLY put down the bill on my table. He then went to another table with two Westerners, talked to them, took the order with a smile. AVOID

An amazing Japanese restaurant, I went to Japan in 2017 and this restaurant is the taste of local Japanese food. I go here almost once 4 to 5 weeks.

I didn't expect that kind of chicken in the Ramen and the taste. but the ramen itself was delicious.

Cold bbq beef. Tuna that was not fresh, had to be returned. Even the ginger looks old

Love the food, love the staff, love the service - the food is spectacular and I go here a lot because of it. Reasonably priced. The background music could be better I guess, but who doesn't go to a restaurant because of the background music? You go for the food. So go.

Good Japanese restaurant, especially good bento boxes!

Wow food really great, so enjoyed my vegetarian curry soup. Flavours just right, no over powering or too creamy. The marmite squid is amazing, wish we had tried that sooner in life Haha. We will definitely visit again when we are next in the area.

The out side looks a tad shabby but as ever apperiances are deceptive. Super little restaurant, good food, quick service, lunch time specials and a good place for lunch!! When in Camden Town you must stop by.

Me and the missus visited Bento Ramen for lunch as I'd often passed it and been curious to see if it was as good as the Eat Tokyo. and to be honest, no not quite as good. the gentleman serving us was a little surly all the way through our visit and I was quite annoyed when I tried to order the squid, he told us quite bluntly it was sold out, only for the table to our very left to receive the said squid dish. maybe they had the last one? anyway not off to a good start. when our food came, it was pretty good. the steamed dumplings were actually very nice, the Miso spinach is a cold salad dish so it was quite different to what I thought I was going to get but also a lot better than I thought that style of dish would taste. starters aside our mains were one salmon Bento and one chicken and beef Bento. the missus rather liked her Bento, saying it was almost as good as Eat Tokyo while my dish was rather good with the beef being a welcome highlight so in conclusion, the food is rather well made with nice flavours and a different combination of dishes to what i'm used to, but the service really lets it down, there being one point but for the missus soothing my rising ire, I would have walked out, that point being the squid issue. the food almost made up for it. Almost..

This very unassuming place in the middle of Camden serves wholehearted food, that is warm nutritious and very tasty. It was a surprising find, after just a bit of meandering, and it definitely did not disappoint. Recommend with all sincerity. You will enjoy every bite, just maybe have a coffee elsewhere ;)

중국식 일본 식당입니다. 맛이랑 가격은 괜찮습니다. 점심땐 서비스도 괜찮고 면요리를 시켜서 그런지 서빙도 한국마냥 빨랐습니다. 제가 먹은 스파이시앤사워우동에서 훠궈의 맛을 느꼈습니다....중국식 향신료가 베이스이니 참고하세요. 교자도 먹을만했습니다.

Ordered ramen and some dim sum. Dim sum ordered was prawn dumplings and they were uncooked inside and prawns were raw. Really glad I didn’t eat the whole thing in one.... Very disappointed that the staff didn’t apologise and I still had to pay service charge for my meal. Maybe I was just unlucky? Not the best experience.

Great sushi and best ramen I've ever tried !!

Amazing food, quite low prices for Central London. Been a customer for 6 years already and not planning to stop :) PS: they have really nice Sake - try it hot. PPS: portions are really generous so don't overestimate your hunger when ordering :)

The food was good. We had sushi. Obviously not mind blowing like in Japan but it was still very good! The waitress was very nice and service was good. Nice interior. 5 stars on this occasion as I was happy with the food, service and interior. The toilet was okay. Not the cleaness: Usual messy customers.

I have been here several times. The food, specifically the sushi was extremely fresh. The main dishes were tasty. Would highly recommend. The ambiance is not great, decor a bit tired, but worth it for the delicious fresh food.

The server here was very nice and attentive and the food was delicious. The prices were reasonable.

When we first arrived, a waiter raised his hand in a ‘stop’ gesture which is not the way to greet customers as far as I am concerned. We then asked for water with our meals and he gave us glasses of water. My friend asked for a jug and he said he would fill her glass up when it was empty, but he was not attentive, and did not return when my friends’ glass was empty. We started to wonder if they didn’t have jugs, but then saw another waitress holding one so we asked her for one and she said yes and brought a jug to our table. The waitor then remarked when he saw we had a jug ‘I should make a tap for you and put it next to your table’ sarcastically. We let this slide as we had already ordered. The sides were really tasty, for mains we both had ramen which was satisfactory but not that flavoursome. We then asked for the bill and said we don’t want to pay service charge. He ignored us and continued to proceed with the bill payment including service charge until my friend had to repeat and say very authoritatively ‘remove the service charge’. The waitor (the same one that refused to give us a paltry jug of water) then lost his cool and raised his voice saying ‘we had to serve you, everyone pays service charge’ and we replied that we were not happy with the service and found his demeanour rude. He said ‘next time don’t come, get takeaway and we won’t have to serve you but if you dine in you must pay service charge.’ Safe to say I am never returning again. Diabolical service and etiquette from that waitor. I don’t know if that is reflective of all the waitors and waitresses but I certainly won’t be going back. If I’m dining out and paying money I expect to be treated appropriately and with courtesy.

Tomó un tiempo conseguir que alguien tomara nuestro pedido. Cuando estaban a mitad de camino, llegó un conductor de Deliveroo y se fueron a tratar con ellos. Después de aproximadamente cinco minutos, el camarero regresó para tomar el resto de nuestro pedido. Pedimos dos entrantes y dos platos principales.Después de unos 40 minutos, llegó el primer main. El camarero se lo entregó y luego fue a tratar con dos conductores de Deliveroo que habían llegado para recoger comida. Diez minutos después llegaron nuestros entrantes. Después de aproximadamente 15 minutos, pregunté sobre mi comida, solo para que me dijeran que la cocina cocina la comida en el orden en que viene. Alrededor de 25 minutos volví a preguntar, y mi comida llegó instantáneamente. Fue como cálido en el mejor de los casos. Bento Ramen serves bowls of ramen in soup (you can also have udon noodles), sushi, dim sum and donburi (rice bowl dishes) in a non nondescript location in Camden opposite to an Odeon cinema. The menu contains 105 items - each assigned a number and a picture to facilitate ordering. Price wise, main dishes range between £10 and £15, serving generous portions. The star of the menu is the sushi which is fresh. The rice bowls lack seasoning and are excessively oily. The service is abrupt and voided of any warmth, but efficient. Bento Ramen is open until 10.30 PM every night Monday to Sunday offering a good late night option for food. In short, while Bento Ramen is voided of charm and service, it offers a good alternative in Camden for good priced sushi.

Food was good, expensive, but that's normal in London. But they "made a mistake" on the bill and tried to overcharge us, we're very fast to fix it at least.

I had a pretty nice time with a friend and a bowl of ramen here. The ramen itself was fairly standard but delicious. I tried to order some shochu with it but they had run dry. Still, the staff were friendly enough and it was a nice enough place to spend a late night meal.

Bento Ramen was delicious. Per toeval kwamen we dit restaurant tegen. Heerlijke ontspannen ambiance. Relaxed om daar te eten en te ontspannen bij wat lekkere gerechten, na een dag Londen een toch wel heel drukke stad Makkelijke toegankelijke bediening. Heerlijke gerechten.

Ne vous fiez pas à la façade, l'intérieur est joli. Laissez-vous tenter par les ramen et les sushis, uramakis et makis fraîchement préparés. Un délice !

A little expensive but the food was alright. Staffs were friendly

Went with a friend who is celiac. She asked if she could swap the two tiny spring rolls in her bento box, with something gluten free. We suggested a small cucumber sushi roll... Her box arrived with a tiny amount of shredded lettuce where the spring rolls would have been. They said it wasn’t possible to replace with anything else. Unbelievable. We should have walked out. Writing this instead! Unfortunately the great location of this restaurant and the huge number of tourists in Camden Town means that this level of poor service and rudeness can go unnoticed as they will always have customers. So annoying!
