Tyburn House in Birmingham

Had a nother good evening there yesterday and great service.

Excellent food, rapid service and lovely friendly bar staff. Not local, but I go back every time I’m in Birmingham. Nice loyalty offers too via the Sizzling app but definitely the best Sizzling pub in the area by a mile!!

Had the giant giros, Probably better than what i had in greece!! From memory it was only about £12 which was great value considering i werent expecting too much for the money.

Went this pub last Sunday for the first time in about 15 years. Definitely improved since I was last here. Cheap drinks also which is always a bonus.

Lovely people behind the bar and good atmosphere!! Love the jager glasses the shots are served in!! Big place and beer is cheap

I had jumbo Fish and Chips and my wife had Scampi and chips. The food was absolutely truly scrumptious and the service was excellent, and all for under £20. Best pub dining experience I've had for many years. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for really good food and fantastic value for money. Thank you Tyburn House. Regrettably our second and third visits to this pub did not live up to our expectations, with negatives for customer service and quality of food. Such a pity that their indifferent attitude spoils the whole experience. Come on guys, we know you can do better.

Took my son for a light dinner nachos and chicken wings were lovely. Easy to order, staff were friendly especially the young man Harry who served us who was very helpful. Atmosphere was nice and welcoming will go again.

Why aren't the poor staff who work so hard allowed to take a drink off the customers. The food is good can't fault that but we felt sorry for the poor staff.

OK last time I visited 6years ago food awful. My visit this time much better food was done as expected nice food this time. My friend wasn't impressed due to lots of grizzle on steak and not sizzling as per order. Other friend and I had anice steak that did sizzle. A little be if a wait for food and drinks but quite busy only 1 bar staff working at the time we arrived but 2 others joined after about 10mins. 1hr wait for food for some but we was informed of this so we waited and had a drink before ordering. Food arrived within 20 mins. Marni lovely young bar man and very helpful. Very polite and what an asset to the pub.

Great value food offers, with 2 meals for £11 (basic standard pub grub on the offers, fish n chips, sausage and mash etc, but worth the price), Friday lunchtime has a nice relaxed friendly atmosphere, helpful friendly staff.

Me and my partner have driven past Tyburn house many times, and thought wow that place looks incredible, we need to go there one day and we did… safe to say we were very disappointed. When we walked through the door, we waited around to see if someone would seat us (as we booked a table) but every staff member that saw us didn’t acknowledge that we were even there, so we went to the bar and waited about 5 minutes until a rude woman behind the bar told us to just sit anywhere and order at the bar, completely dismissing us. When we went to find a table, baring in mind it wasn’t too busy, every single available table was a mess with glass, used cutlery and menus and crumbs of food all over the tables. Staff were standing around, acting like they didn’t have a care in the world that this was the case. There was one woman which eventually took glass off of 2 tables, then didn’t even clean or sort the rest of the tables out! Leaving the used cutlery and sticky tables as they are! At this point, we were waiting for around 15 minutes, with still not even one pleasant table to sit on. By this point, we had had enough and just walked out. Ruined our bank holiday Monday plans and very disappointed as the building is beautiful but treated very poorly.

Good quick food and friendly staff, good selection of drinks

Shame they were having something done re the kitchen. Very quite. Went in for coffee after a funeral, so it was very suitable for us and it's a big pub. No problem parking. Staff member was a bit off with us. I'm sure this isn't normal

Food was very nice, as was the customer service. However, the menu has been changed and the Caribbean chicken skewers are no longer on it. They were a great value for money meal with 3 skewers. It’s now tandoori chicken , which was bang average and only two skewers are served now. Other than that, an enjoyable experience

Took my daughter in to The Tyburn house earlier today for her first pub steak, the food was delicious, everywhere was clean and tidy, the staff were lovely as always. Thank you to the chef and the staff

Be careful when parking because mistake do happen hopefully this as not had an effect on my credit score it is now sorted but apology would be appreciated and maybe you can advise your staff to inform customer about the iPad

Very clean and served quickly at the bar. Staff were polite and courteous. There was a lovely fire place burning away on a cold winters day. Very inviting. We have visited before and its always nice. Good selection.of food for adults and children. Cooked to your liking. Competative prices with better food. than most. Would highly recommend!! the pub and restaurant and the desserts were very large felt we got value for money and nice tasting food.

I came here some years ago and it was lovely, came back few months back for my daughter's birthday and it was awful. It's was dark and dim, seats on the booths looked dirty, the walls we're peeling, the atmosphere was rubbish, the place was far from full yet they're was tables that weren't cleared and cleaned. Food selection wasn't great, Service was rubbish, wouldn't be somewhere I'd recommend or ever go back to.

Enjoyed food. Nice sized portions. We had a mixture from the menu. I had the gammon. There was no pineapple an peas quiet hard so left them. Asked for dirty fries on one main so had to go back as reg fries came with it. No one came to ask if we were happy with our meals an had to ask for tartar sauce. On the whole good value an quality but the area we sat in was so cold an draughty we had to close blind an wear our coats to eat. There was a man in the ladies toilet. Who did apologies as his partner was drunk an had made a mess in their being sick/peed herself so he was helping clean her up.

So this is my local. Recently had the set Christmas meal with my partner. The bar staff make any visit a joy, disappointed with the rewards Christmas pina colada drink. Would have loved to have had this with my partner but they only had enough of one of the main ingredients for one. Also my Christmas pudding desert was disappointing, it was like having a flapjack size supermarket bar. It is not really a Christmas meal pub, but can't speak for Christmas Day because I have not had such a meal, hope they do it better.

food very chewy....poor beer selection....(on draught).... screaming kids everywhere and food mashed into carpet... staff were friendly...but they were understaffed..so you couldn't really expect them to serve drinks...bring food out...take dirty plates away and clean the carpet.....and of course do as they're told by the area manager and ask " is everything ok?".....whilst you have a mouthful of food...lol...

Place was cold, staff wearing coats, customers wearing coats, food was cold, I felt sorry for the staff having to work in those conditions which is why I didn't complain

Food ok. One meal had to be returned due to staff not listening to allergy request. Had to go hunting for condiments. We’re totally ignored when first arrived. Mustard given was out of date by 6 months! Pepsi Max was severely diluted. Overall not the best experience when we were out to celebrate a birthday. Will be going to Hare and Hounds next time!

Food came quickly and we both really enjoyed our meal.

We came in yesterday for lunch. my wife had hunters chicken and i had a burger. we had chicken wings for staters. we were welcomed by the manageress and the new girl that has just started. the service from both was excellent. my burger was lovely and juicy. the chicken wings were piping hot and very nice. my wifes hunters chicken was ok but she did not like the bacon as it was not cooked. but the staff corrected that. we were both stuffed. the meat that was left over we taken home and gave to our cats and they loved it to. our puddings were very good indeed. loved my fruit crumble and custdad.

Went for food, had 2 bowls of nachos and halloumi fries off the 3 dishes for 15.50 selection. Halloumi fries were nice, the nachos on the other hand weren't your typical nachos.. they were just doritos with cold dip. As a pair of people that, when out for food, always tend to sway towards a nachos dish, we were very put off with it being a cold dish, as normally you would have the tortilla chips heated with melted cheese or atleast the cheese sauce be warmed. So wasnt really moneys worth as we felt like we could have just ask for a packet of crisp and a dip for a couple quid and got the same experience. Friendly enough staff and fairly priced drinks.

Excellent from the moment of entry. Staff phenomenal. Service was fast. Food was hot and could tell it was freshly made. Will definitely be returning.

We, grandparents, son and four grandchildren (cousins) called in after a pretty full-on day on our narrow boat (24 locks out of Birmingham!). It is a sports pub and pretty loud so we chose to eat in the garden. The food is the usual pub food - perfectly acceptable - but the staff were fabulous! They dealt with numerous change of minds with good humour - actually more than that - and really looked after us well. In particular we would single out Becky (I hope I have spelt her name correctly) who really went the extra mile to look after us. Thank you Becky!

Large pub and plenty of room, beer's not to bad pity they don't have more range of real ales but you can't have all what you want, very good location plenty of car parking space, but now when you arrive you must put your car details at the bar,food looks ok but I have not eaten there,but give it a go and see for yourself, have a nice time.

Been here few times in 7 years and always was nice to come back. Good atmosphere, friendly stuff, management and yep customer around the pub. A vintage location and well maintained, tidy and organised. The manager it's an artist for sure 👌🏻 You have a nice pool table where you can play with your friends. Drinks are not expensive and you can enjoy sitting around the pub watching your favourite sport games as they do have a couple of TV's and a big projector screen in gr8 quality. The pub has a parking space as well, and you need in the pub to put your registration number in (as soon as you enter the pub!)

Came to Birmingham to visit our eldest daughter, stopped off for dinner at Tyburn house. Excellent hot food, friendly atmosphere, wonderful building and to top it off, amazing value!

About what you'd expect from any sizzling pub. This one is at least in a nice historic building. Food is decent but never going to be award winning. Staff are friendly. Order at table wasn't working when we were there. Food arrived quickly. Toilets are a bit grotty.

Had lunch 3 times after doing morning shifts the food was OK and service also 2nd day service not so good but food very nice 3rd day food was OK but the service was very poor and relieved a£85 parking fine even though I registered as I ordered my meal. My only advice Avoid like the plague

Really quick friendly service expecially for a Saturday. The food was delicious and we'll worth the money especially the dirty chips they are fantastic.

Great service, and food at very reasonable prices... Super quick at bringing food to the table, and pleasant and engaging/with the guests on our table... Double checking for allergies and requirements... Nothing seemed to be too much trouble including a couple of journeys bringing sauces and making sure we was all happy with the food etc... Would definitely recommend this place, and will most definitely come back again

Well hidden gem staff so friendly food excellent 2 meals for £10 amazing value food was so hot only problem being it's based next to a very busy island on 2 main roads but well worth the trip

Food brilliant and very good service

After two disastrous visits to the sizzler up the road (Hare and Hounds) we were a bit unsure about visiting another but have to say we were pleasantly surprised. Everything we wanted on the menu was available and when it was brought to our table we were all happy. We only had one little issue which was over cooked garlic bread but this was immediately rectified with a replacement. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and a stand out member of staff who served us our food was Lisa. Seemed at one point she was the only person waiting the tables in our area (which was busy) but this didn’t phase her and she took it all in her stride remaining polite and cheerful. Keep up the good work we will definitely be back!

Visited today and had a good experiance as usual. Visited before and always come back sadisfied with a place and food. Pub has been refurbished to high standard and is full of periodic features which we love. Locals are friendly and as is staff. We come on weekend from 20 miles away and we don't mind drive knowing how good this pub is. We haven't seen it busy, not sure why maybe it's bacouse it's on the busy roundabout? Food is good and prices are really reasonable for what you get. Castle Vale and Minworth are not the most scenic places but also some shopping near by so can feel up the afternoon and not feel like you go there just for food. We will be returning soon.

We visited on a lunchtime and got served drinks quickly. The manager and staff were very helpful and chatty. We ordered food. One Big Mac combo and a mega mixed grill. The wait wasn’t too bad and the food was piping hot. Both meals were very nice. We will definitely go back.

Popped in after shopping in the castle vale shopping park new it was an old pub ordered a whiskey and lemonade and served straight away great service peaky blinders will be back

Not a bad experience however when we ordered the food we had starters and mains. When the starters had come out before we had even got half way through the mains where on the table. When I asked the gentleman why the mains where there before we had finished starters he said because they where ready 🤔 not sure this should have been the response l. So I ended up leaving the starter to start on the main. Staff seemed very unhelpful unless you where a local. We should really have read the previous reviews as they all same almost the same about the staff.

Popped into here for a quick bite to eat. Few people in but not busy. Had a drink first then decided to order. we ordered our food off the over 60 menu £4.99 for two courses with starter main meal. The waitress came back and said it was 13 pound we had to explain to her what we had ordered. We didn't wait to long for our starter which was lovely the soup. Then we waited and waited and waited. Myself being in hospitality I knew the food would now be sitting under the hot lamp. when it finally came my chicken was served with chips instead of the jacket potato it states on the menu. I really couldn't be bothered to mention it as it had taken so long for the food to arrive.there was no check back and when the finished plates were collected nothing was mentioned about all the chips left on my plate. Disappointed.
