What a great spot! We had a great visit to this secluded pub on the beach. There are two places you can park, at the Golf Club car park with a cost of around five pounds through an app, from here you walk over the golf course on the path/road to the pub. Or, you can park further down on the National Trust car park and walk along the beach to the pub. We parked at the golf club, walked over the golf course and then walked back along the beach and back up to the golf car park. The beach walk is great. There was a DJ on when we went and that gave it a good atmosphere outside we did not sit inside as the weather was OK. Food was available although we did not order anything. Friendly staff who served at the outside bar. Be careful of the closing times as that can be early if there is not an event on.

Today. we decided to head off for a visit to Ty Coch Tafern, at the tiny fishing village settlement of Porthdinllaen, Morfa Nefyn. It is only accessible for visitors along the beach, or through the golf course. We chose the golf course option as this was deemed the shortest walk. First we parked up at the golf club, and paid our £5 parking, which proved time consuming via an app! Whilst hubby was sorting payment I got our picnic ready. BLTs which we ate in van before we set off, At about 2pm. we set off through the spectacularly positioned golf course towards the beach and pub. It was a lovely, interesting walk, if a little exposed to the elements. At least the sun was out by now and there was no more rain forecast for the afternoon. Indeed the forecast is that the weather is improving, so fingers crossed. After about 30 minutes, we arrived at the idyllic little settlement and beach, with the most spectacular views. Shock, horror, the pub was closed due to a technical problem it said, but having spoken to some other potential customers, we were told that it was due to a card payment problem and they should be up and running again in about 30 minutes or so. We took a little walk along the lovely beach, admiring the beautiful scenery and getting windswept in the process! At around 3pm we returned to the pub and sat happily outside on picnic tables whilst we waited for normal service to be resumed! It was a lovely place to sit and chat with the spectacular views over the bay. At around 3.15pm the pub was open and what a gem of a place it is. We were first in LOL! Everyone was hanging back not wanting to look anxious, as is the way with us Brits. So, I decided someone had to be first. We had a pint each of a locally brewed bitter and it was delicious. We sat outside first. admiring the lovely views, and chatting to other customers. Then we went in to sit and take in the lovely old pub and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. It was delightful. A proper old fashioned pub, with lots of quirky decor. Ship lamps, brass, toby jugs etc, hanging from ceiling and model ships in the windows. Very friendly barman, most apologetic for technical hitch. We absolutely loved it. At about 4pm we reluctantly left and walked back to our camper van. Apparently, in the height of season, this place is crammed, which wouldn't suit us. But at this time of year we decided it was a little bit of paradise. I am puzzled by a negative review stating that visitors were the charged more than Welsh! I am Welsh. The tariff was clearly displayed.

A great pub, right on the beach. It was very busy when we went but there was a great atmosphere, and the food was delicious. You can get to it by walking along the beach from the NT car park ( much quicker, but not sure you can go this way atvhigh tide) or by walking across the golf course. If you take the golf course option, there is parking at the top of the hill next to the golf club. It costs £5 to park there ( same as the NT one) and saves you a ten minute uphill walk. It ‘s another 15 minute walkmfrom there to the pub. Once you’ve been to the pub you can walk out to the headland to see the seals. Best to wear sensible shoes as the path is rocky in places.

We visited twice during August and both occasions it was fantastic - check tide times so you can walk along the beach to access the Ty Coch - great food and nice beer perfect location - be mindful it’s very popular so you may need to be patient in waiting for food - but what better location to wait on looking out to sea with a cool beer!!

The pub has one redeeming feature, the location. If it was anywhere else it would have no business. Indifferent staff serving food with an hour of waiting, sticky unkept tables. Along with everyone else there mid afternoon on a Tuesday we waited an hour for a plate of Nachos to share. We will not be returning.

Visited this pub while doing a circular walk. Lovely old pub but were only serving food at lunchtime and had run out of quite a few items on the menu including beans for jacket potatoes which seemed like poor planning to me,but the food we did have was really good. Staff were friendly and helpful while we were there. Would visit again, and I think it would be even better with the sun shining as it was dull on the day we visited

If you're in the area, this bar is a must visit, spend a few hours on the beach and enjoy the environment. We visited with our daughter (18 months) and found a spot on the beach a bit away from the loud music playing ourside the bar. The sand there is great, perfect for sand castles. Music is reggae focused and maybe a bit loud closer to the pub, it helps build a chilled atmosphere but there's room away from the bar if you enjoy a quieter environment. Beer seems to be mostly local (I think) with some interesting options but prices may make you feel like you're living back in London. Even the outside bar is always busy so I guess the price is worth paying. We didn't try the food but it looked pretty good, might give it a try next time we're in the area. Just remember, there's nothing stopping you bringing your own food and drinks to the beach to save your self a fortune.

If you like something quirky, off the beaten track and with a stunning location then this is the place for you. A generic chain this isn’t so it might not be to everyone’s tastes but it certainly was to ours. The pub is hidden from view and involves a bracing walk (it certainly was on the day we visited) along the path from the golf club down into this secluded bay. At first you’re captivated by the view and the azure blue of the sea and it’s then you spot the name of the pub written on the slates on the rear of its roof. Inside is traditional with an unusual array of lamps hanging from the ceiling, from Davy lamps to railway tail lamps. It was cosy with some well kept local ales too. The beach is literally outside the front door and our dog appreciated that and being welcome too. We will be back.

It is the most stunning location and great for the family. Disappointed with the food on our lunch visit today. Other times we have been it has been too busy to even consider eating so I suppose we made progress. Nachos with pub chilli was a good size (should be for £15) but chilli was bulked out with a sweet tasting sauce which was quite unpalatable. I think if we go again we will eat elsewhere and just do drinks.

Heard about this pub from a relative who said that it was worth a visit as voted one of the best beach bars in the world! Also said it was off the beaten track and yes indeed it was as was accessed via a golf course. Good job we were on our bikes (have to scrabble low to get it through the barrier) as wouldn’t have fancied the walk 🤔 But it was worth the hassle as it was impressive. Pub a bit rough and ready but if in the area you must visit and sit on the beach and enjoy the view and vibe even though it’s a plastic glass

Walked through the golf course to the pub as the tide was in. Parked near the toilets at the other end of the beach for free. Could not believe the parking restrictions didn’t start until 1st June therefore don’t bother with the pay car park...

Walked through Morfa Nefyn golf course to the Ty coch Inn. Fantastic location, pub staff friendly and food good. Another tick off the bucket list.

Worth the walk from the National Trust car park, free parking for members and at a reasonable cost if not. Approx twenty minute to half hour walk across a public footpath through the golf course, we were lucky with the weather a nice sunny day....

What a disappointment, having been told by friends to visit, the only saving grace was the location. The person taking the food order was one of the most grumpiest demeanours I have experienced in a long time. They showed about as much customer service as...

Lovely walk to this place on a clean beach. Great atmosphere and adapted well to post covid trading. Good coffee with epic nachos.

This seems to be a shining example of tourists being charged the maximum for minimum comforts. The toilets are unsanitary, un-hygienic and should be closed. Doesn't the landlady ever go in there?? If she thinks that's an acceptable hygiene standard I'd think twice about eating...

Stopped for breakfast in the cafe, it was lovely. The small breakfast is big enough for most! Cafe clean, staff friendly and importantly the toilets were very clean. Highly recommended 👍

Had a coupla beers here, they dragged the large bean bags out for us. There was just the 2, I felt very privileged 🫅 Everyone was walking past greedily eyeing them up, before they took to their hard chair 🤭 I was so disappointed when it began to rain & we had to give them up. This place is one of my fave’s. I’d only popped back to get some of their lovely food but we couldn’t sit on the benches with the rain. We returned a few weeks later but they’d closed until spring. I can wait.

Meifod Country House is perfectly positioned for Caernarfon, Anglesey, the mountains and the coast. It’s a lovely old building, extremely comfortable and the staff are delightful. The house is decorated to a high standard and the antique furniture is beautiful. Tripadvisor needs updating as there is no restaurant at Meifod House. The only food available is breakfast - standard help yourself continental and what looked like well cooked hot breakfast if requested (we didn’t have cooked breakfast). We only saw and met two staff during our stay, both of whom looked after us very well - nothing was too much trouble. Our bedroom (Brymer), overlooks the field to the side of the property. The bed is enormous and very comfortable. The bathroom is huge, with a double ended bath and shower attachment attached to the taps (no actual shower). Good big towels, high quality bed linen, and a fridge in the room. When we return to the area we will stay here again. I recommend it highly.

Visited this pub while on a solo break away with my dog a couple of weeks ago and it was a fantastic atmosphere, great service, lovely food and I have to give the highest praise to the lady (who I think was a manager or supervisor) (gutted I didn’t catch her name) but she was so friendly and welcoming, she made a fuss of my dog even giving her some doggie treats which went down (a treat) 😆would definitely recommend this place and will be sure to visit again next time I’m passing!!
