Twynersh Hungry Horse in Runnymede

Had a very good family lunch here yesterday. There was 36 in our party and the staff worked incredibly hard to look after us all. Everyone had a great time and big thank you to all the staff, Anita, Megan, Lauren, Kelly, Stef, Gammon, Clare and Jane.

This evening myself my partner and his daughter visited the Hungry Horse pub in Chertsey.We are usually satisfied with the service and food, however tonight we had a very poor experience.The pub was extremely busy and full of unruly children. There was not enough staff working to look after the number of customers in the pub and we did not feel welcomed.We waited for a very long time for our drinks to arrive, they still didn't arrive when our food was bought out and we had to ask if they were coming. We were told to order at the bar, we had already ordered and paid via the app. We also had to ask for our side plates for our sharing platter and cutleryAfter waiting a while for these to arrive my partner eventually went to the bar to chase these up as our food was getting cold.Once we started eating we realised we were also missing the nachos and dips from our sharing platter. There were no staff around to ask about this and by this point we were ready to leave!We were planning to stay and have pudding but the experience we have had this evening has unfortunately put us off. I would appreciate a response to this email, we were led to believe now the pub was under new management the quality of food and service would improve, sadly it has not!

Heard they have had a change of manager so decided to pop in for dinner. Was greeted upon arrival by Jake who showed us to our table. Didn't wait to long to be served at bar by Michal who took my order in a friendly manor. Staff all appeared to be happy and service was friendly and fast. A big change to our last visit. We will definitely be returning on a regular basis.

Went to the restaurant we’re not greeted when we went in. Sat at a table spent 20 minutes to decide on food. There were people all around us eating. Whent to the bar to order and we’re advised rather rudely by a staff member that the kitchen was closed. This is despite it being 2pm lunch time. Apparently it was closed because there were not enough staff to service customers. She said that there were not even enough staff to serve drinks. As the lady in front of us had just been complaining about not getting her correct order. My advice would be to invest in some staff as customers like me need to be served with what you promise if you expect people to visit your restaurant. Shame as it’s in Walking distance from my house and prior to the pandemic I have enjoyed the restaurant.

The twynish in chertsey is a fantastic venue for family meals out the menu is varied and there is something for everyone we were a party of 7, 5 adults and 2 children and we all thoroughly had a fantastic time.thanks to all the staff who served us tonight it has been over 2 years since we all went out as a family and thank you for fantastic food and the staffs excellent service in very difficult times.Our food was absolutely lovely, from starters, mains, kids and the awesome pudding. A big thanks to the brilliant customer service from Kelly and Mark who were like Octupus (so many hands doing so many tasks at once). They were 2 people down due to sick but you would not have known it by the service and great banter given. The plates came out hot as was the tasty good size food. If you want hot wings that leave you unable to feel your lips this is the place to get them and they can be made hotter if you think you can handle it! The whole night was pleasurable due to them. I hate depressive staff who bring you on a downer but not tonight. Look forward to going again within the next couple of weeks. A great down to earth place where you can chill, have a nice bit of scran, and leave with a smile.

Had an awesome experience at this home pub. Michael was particularly most helpful to make my stay and my family's meal most enjoyable. The food is so delicious with lots of weekday offers. As a home pub, I owe them a lot of gratitudes. They always give a five star service

Nice food usual pub grub, pleasant staff especially one staff member called Leah - greeted us with a smile and was very accommodating to our needs.

We had a very pleasant Sunday evening here - the halloumi bites were perfectly cooked and tasty and our main course food was delicious and very generous portions, making it excellent value for money. The girl on the bar seemed quite rude, particularly when we paid with cash and got stroppy about having to check the note - which you would think was standard practice. However, the gentleman (Mical or Michl) noticed and gave us really very professional service at the table and was friendly and polite. He made us feel comfortable and welcome, despite clearly doing twice as much work as the other staff! If all the staff were as good as Mical, I would eat here every day! The decor inside and outside is very nice and comfortable.

Had a lovely meal at Twynersh, chertsey.. The staff were really helpful, especially the two young ladies that were serving us. They came back and ask if everything was ok. Think they're names are Hollie and Stef, always smiling.

Fantastic staff, Steph is blinding, always greeted with a smile when I go in for a beer, always helping with customer queries In fact all the staff are really friendly, this creates a great atmosphere for a local pub.

me and my family went here for a lunch had mac and cheese with a Sunday dinner.the chicken wasn't cooked right and the mac and cheese tasted like melted plastic with an ridiculous amount of cheese on top. the drinks was decent for normal bar drinks.

Food was rubbish cold sort look like it's seen better days they could improve of on their food would not go again

The Hungry Horse Twynersh is a fantastic family pub run by fantastic helpful friendly staff who look after you very well . I would fully recommend this place and it’s very close to Thorpe Park just ask for Megan she will look after you

We love the Twynersh pub restaurant. Great for kids and bigger kids. Menu is always changing and is always tasty and appealing. Excellent value for money. Service and staff are great. We are frequent visitors and keep coming back. Lovely beer garden in the summer with kids swings etc. In summary, great food, great staff and a fun place to come to. Now for a massive ice cream to share with my birthday girl granddaughter!

Went in the Hungry Horse today. The meal was excellent. The only thing wrong was service was slow. Took about 10 minutes before any of the Staff appeared. Apart from that Great Meal. I was with my sister. For the price Excellent value for money

Down here every week for the quiz. Staff were brilliant as always, especially the waiters Jack and Michal and bartender Stef who were all doing a phenomenal job. Well done to all staff. Manager should be very proud 😁😁😁

Super place to stop for evening meal and they allowed us to park up in their car park all night with our campervan. Food was very good and not expensive with lots of choice on the menu. Very friendly staff and clean and tidy. We returned for breakfast the following morning too! Which was great value and very good. We will certainly return next time we’re in the area. The service was good and the menu was good too. Six of us were served quickly and the food was excellent. We were offered free puddings as we had chosen from the large plate section on the menu. They were great and very much appreciated. Would return if we were not on holiday here!

Stopped here for a full English. Was very nice. The manager was pleasant enough and the staff friendly.Nice little outdoor area to sit and a small play area for children.Can't go wrong with unlimited coffee for me personally. Very nice from a nice quality coffee machine.

Staying at Thorpe park overnight in shark cabins and decided to come off resort for dinner. Huge huge huge dinner served and decent grub with drinks x 2-3 and came to around £18. Had starter and ridiculous sized main. Staff friendly and although busy prompt enough service. Assistant manager came over and introduced himself to us which was nice. Will definitely come again.

Me and my husband had breakfast and dinner here as we were staying at Thorpe Park cabins. Prices here are very reasonable and the portion sizes are very good. Good was very well prepared and piping hot. Staff are very friendly. This is a good place to visit if you want a reasonably fair priced meal and drink compared with the prices at Thorpe Park- only 4 mins drive from Thorpe Park.

Recently visited the twynersh again and it never dissapoints. Manager and Staff do their best to make us feel welcomed even when short of staff. Hats off to the kitchen staff too, food was quick and delicous. I noticed a new face within the team aswell, possibly a new AM. Greeted us too and seems nice.

The service I received at Hungry Horse was great, the staff were really friendly and they had a decent bar selection. Would recommend for a meal out or few drinks.

Had a really nice lunch today at the Twynersh , cooked by Rob ,food was hot and really enjoyable . The pub has a nice atmosphere and a large garden Keep up the good work !!

When we come to Surrey we always visit the Twynesrh hungry horse in Chertsey and since it’s been done up it is a great experience better than ever the food is beautiful today we are trying their new menu wow the burgers are lush the price is great The location is the best it’s a must to try if you’ve never been in an angry horse its value for money thank you once again to Mark and his team you’ll never fall off we should be back in December see you then thank you for a great experience

Went some years ago for dinner after a Thorpe Park trip - very nice.Attended for breakfast recently pre - Thorpe Park trip - very poor.Probably one of the most unappetising breakfasts I’ve had, food was the equivalent of the kind of plastic toy food a child would play with.Wouldn’t recommend.

Wanted somewhere different to our usual local pub so visited the Hungry Horse in Chertsey. Kelly & Tony pampered to our every need & we couldn’t ask for better customer service. The food was great, so many thanks to you all!!

As a family, we visited a few years before their fire and it was shocking. However, today we decided to give it another go as we heard they had changed management and staff. I have to say, Kelly who took our orders was so helpful, and knowledgeable of the options available, and Tony who served really made our visit a great pleasure. Kelly even helped out with a food choice for our two dogs. Due to these two staff members, we are more than happy to return. Food was great as well. Outstanding service, thanks team. Arrived at the Twynersh at 6.40pm having booked a table. No-one to tell us where to go, it was left to a customer to do that. Finally someone came to help us and we were seated. After choosing what to have we then had to go to the bar to order and pay. There were 2 members of staff behind the bar 1 taking food orders and the other doing drinks . The was very busy and quite a queue had built up. Bearing in mind that only 1 till was open we then got behind a couple who were paying with about 20 Tesco Club card vouchers and it took for ever. The food was average and I wouldn't go there again.

This pub is terrible we arrived after a day out, I went to the bar to order after a 5 minute wait I was told “I’ll be with you as says I can”by the member of staff behind the bar, so I waited probably another 5 maybe 10 minutes, then a member of staff collecting glasses told me this bar is closed you have to go to the back bar. To the back I went and again I waited, finally I was getting served I ordered a cider and a ale and started to order the food, when I was told sorry sir we have no ale on today, which I was surprised at as this is a green king house and ale should be the first thing in stock, I went on to order food and once again one of the two meals was unavailable. At this point I disgusted at the service, food and drink availability my wife and I left and went somewhere else, It must be said before they had a refurb after a fire this pub was a great place to eat and drink but not now I for sure we not be returning any time soon. I’m sure if Green King knew how this pub was being run they would be as disappointed as I was, hope this pub improves soon so we can once again enjoy a nice pint of ale and a meal.

Went in for dinner on Friday, I had the chicken kebab big plate special, was fantastic!! Kelly delivered great service with a big smile all night. Great family friendly atmosphere x

We have visited been for back again just been in for breakfast absolutely spot-on the place is stunning the breakfast offer every adult meal you get a children’s three yes three beautiful value for money it’s a must to visit location is not far from Thorpe park I’ve got massive gardens kids play area a great place to relax and just chill we will be back later as it’s wine Wednesday yes £5 a bottle or a curry and a drink £6 wow

We popped in as a spur of the moment dinner after a day out it was very busy and no table available, however the lady we spoke to made us a table so we were able to have dinner she was very busy bless her but still smiling and chatting! Didn’t catch her name but she had a red top and was older lady

Was recommended this place only today …. What can I say!!! It exceeded all expectations, especially after lockdown….. the staff are friendly, Holly and her team leader were exceptional. Their customer service and delivery was above standard! Great value for money on the special offers and will definitely be re-visiting too!! Children felt comfortable and all the amenities were spot on. Clean, efficient and great value for money!! No brainer for sure x

Had a lovely meal out with my family on 06/06/2021. I enjoyed my experience and the service was great. The staff team was really kind and made me feel welcome and they were really helpful. booked a table with friends was served by someone called Kelly who could not have done more to help us with our order ,the food was great and the table sevice excellent ,the waitress girl Kelly asked if we were happy and we sure was ,will go there again a nice friendly place .

Brought us food menus before 8:40 let us order and then came out gone 9 to say we can’t have food because kitchen shuts at 9. Took ages to get someone’s attention to ask for a refund as money had already come out of bank. Then wouldn’t even give us a refunded receipt and said it would take us to 3 days to get refunded. Manager was rude and didn’t show any interest in what happened and left someone else to deal with it. Waited ages for it to get sorted and then left with no sorry for the inconvenience. Poor customer service and would never go again.

We visited last year for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed the food so decided to come back with family. We orderedthrough the app and there was a problem, the meal was paid for but I had to speak to the management. I did and they didn’t have a clue what went wrong. The service was slow and mainly running around like headless chickens. In my opinion the restaurant has opened all seats but not increased the waiter/waitresses to cope. The app is not reliable and many people went to the bar to order which caused queues and more frustration. Cocktails were on the menu but not available at the bar as was Abbot Ale in bottle as no cask ales were available. The food was okay, I had a loaded steak which was dry,my partner had Big Tikka Masala and that was fine.The overall experience was not great, I felt sorry for the staff , they were not informed properly and untrained, one guy was looking at his phone to see how to make drinks.We will visit again hopefully when the staff are properly trained.

i came to the pub tonight with mates, food was excellent, food timing was good but while we were waiting a lady called kelly came with our knives and forks with a very unwelcoming tone and with no smile but other than that had a great time

Marley is a legend, made my trip so good! Will definitely recommend a visit to the twynersh, especially if Marley is on shift! Deserves a pay rise!

Lovely visit with friends. Great for a short meal and a pint. Tony was very nice to us even though it was busy. The chef's Jacob and Ricky cooked our food and it was just what we needed. Excellent.

We took our large family ( 12 ) out for dinner for our daughter’s birthday and we had a lovely evening. Food was lovely and the staff are very friendly and welcoming and the garden area for the children is brilliant they played for hours. Definitely going back again great place for families..

This pub/restaurant discriminates against older people without 'the app' on a smartphone. We used to be regular customers. First meal out for 6 months and refused entry. Manager not willing to take our contact details - only the app, and I don't have a smart phone. They should have on the door No Irish, No Blacks, No dogs, No old people without a smartphone - well, it is just as discrimnatory. We were not good enough to eat there.

Enforced use of the app and a soulless generic venue , however it does what it says on the tin. The food is very average but fills a hole and when you are getting a passable burger n chips x 2 and 2 drinks for under £20 I don't think there is much cause for complaint. Would I come again for a sophisticated meal hell no, would I come again for a cheap meal whilst commuting to somewhere, yes I probably would.

We called in on the off chance of a table after a busy day @ Thorpe Park We were greeted by Matt who was nice and friendly We got seated quickly and full info was given to us about the use of the appWe had trouble with it but was helped by Matt who got it all sorted & managed to get our order sorted. Nothing was to much trouble We were a bit of a hard family 2 please but Matt got everything we needed and was a massive help The other staff who were on didn't seem as bothered and didn't seem to take any interest in there jobs they just plodded along making no effort to engage with guests at all.The general atmosphere was not great However having a polite friendly member of staff like that definitely made our visit worthwhile And just for that alone we will be coming back.Matt you are a Star and a real credit to the place Thank you so much for making our visit a memorable one and we look forward to seeing you again soon.Dave & Teresa

My daughter and I had a simple pub dinner (outside!) at Twynersh on Monday evening 10th May. We booked a table without any problems and found the limited menu to be very sensibly priced. they have a big garden at the back with plenty of seating. Ideal for a summer afternoon or evening - but not for a cold windy May evening! Watching our waistlines we both ordered a salad with chicken. We also had two soft drinks. Service was friendly - although the ordering system via the Greene King app did not seem to work and we had to go into the pub to confirm our order and even to collect our food. No complaints - but nothing exceptional either. I am sure things will be much better when you can actually sit inside.

Had a lovely meal at Twynersh Hungry Horse on Sunday, 1st time back since it was refurbished last year, plesantly surprised by how clean and tidy the outside is. Weather was good so eating outside was very plesant. A very lovely young waitress called Stefanie help me use the app to order my food. The food was quickly brought to my table in a timely manner.

What a visit ..Was a busy day but Matt managed to squeeze a lot of us in his service was really good and very helpfulHalfway into the visit our daughter got her leg stuck in climbing frame But Matt & Tony’s quick thinking we managed to get it out after about 5 minutes we finally managed to get it freeThey really calmed the situation when everyone was panicking And the after care from Matt was great He took her to clean the leg down after it being covered in washing up liquid to get it free & kept checking she was ok for the rest of the visit.Place is definitely so much better since re opening We will be back regularly Thank you so much Matt & Tony for all your help

Was our 1st visit to the pub We came quite late but was greeted by Matt Who was so friendly and helpful From start to finish on our visit he had us laughing and joking and had great banter His service was 1st class Because of him we will be coming back for sure and recommend going here just for his service alone Absolutely made our night Thank you Matt We look forward to seeing you soon

Glad to see the pub reopen especially in these challenging times. This place was never everyone’s cup of tea but I was pleasantly surprised when me and the kids dropped in for a ‘substantial meal’ this evening. The whole place has been really nicely overhauled, it’s very fresh, clean and seems a lot bigger. The garden looks a lot more welcoming for kids and though quiet, as to be expected, currently the food is good and the service quick. Good work guys. I look forward to coming back again soon.Thanks

We visited this pub today for our lunch as a family, I had the 15oz gammon plate it was delicious and well worth the money. The gentleman that welcomed us was great and the woman who brought our food over was exceptional !!!! She made sure we was ok by checking us regularly to see if we were happy. Also the place is covid friendly and clean, also social distancing was adhered too. Definitely worth a visit and will return very soon :) Keep up the good work guys !!

Today I attended with my wife today for lunch I was going to order a curry which was 8 pound and the lovely lady waitress Kelly told me i could get a curry and a pint for £5.50 so opted for this the food was amazing value and Kelly was very polite and helpful will definitely attend for curry Wednesday again

Lovely lunch with friends, plenty of places to park. very clean, safely spaced out. Ordered through the app, very easy to do. Didn’t wait long for our lunch. I ordered a pizza with lasagne inside. Very filling and so tasty. Staff were nice and friendly.

We visited last week, When we arrived we was shown to our table. A young lady arrived soon after her name was Alice the assistant manager she took our order and was very polite and suggestive in the menu. The pub was very quiet but that was due to COVID rules and regulations but the atmosphere was great. Alice then delivered our food which was so tasty. Well done to the chefs . The pub looked so festive and magical which looked fantastic. Alice is a major part of that team she was amazing and supportive. Well done to all the team especially you Alice. Overall I would highly suggest this pub

just visited after reopening ,its been refurbished to a high standard ,totally covid safe , staff were really nice , kind , helpfull and really polite , the menu is large to suit all tastes with great deals every day of the week and fantastic prices , , loved the seniors deal [over 60s ] three cources for £6.20 if your looking for a nice night out at a great price give it a try

some friends and I went to the hungry horse / green king pub for dinneri had never been before but apparently, it's been refurbished. the pub wasn't busy we had already booked obviously due to COVID we had to use the track and trace app and order our food using their app. the service was fine and quite quick it was all contactless i ordered fish and chips which was Highly disappointing the fish was not crispy and the chips were quite bland. the desert was really nice I ordered the chocolate fudge cake which was the highlight of the meal. the staff were friendly enough and there were no major issues with our experience

Had a burger and fries and the wife had the chicken new yorker, our food was really nice and hot. The covid measures were spot on and the pub looks amazing after its been redecorated, definitely improved. 9.5 out of 10 would eat here again

As a local I visited after the refurb and lockdown 2. Was hesitant as the previous experiences I had in years past were very poor food and service. Staff were super friendly and the food standard has increased! The only thing that would have pushed it up to a 5 would be a bit more of a personable service but again that comes with time as I know the team are relatively new.Would recommend anyone thinking about visiting again, from my experience

I was a bit dubious about going to this restaurant again, I went many years ago and it was awful but as it’s been recently renovated we thought we would give it a go. We both had roast beef and it was very nice, quick service with a small, behind the mask! They encourage you to download the app which I had already down but it didn’t work to well so we paid at the bar.Definitely go again.

Came out with the family for a meal and got greeted by Kelly the host she was absolutely amazing kept on checking on us throughout the night, very polite and caring.

The place was horrible before the fire so I thought I try it last week before the lockdown. Food is what you would expect. The staff are totally rude and have no idea how to serve. The waitress was walking around with her visor up ! was rude when i asked for some salt ! I suggest the management of the place use lockdown to train the staff in customer care and manners. If you want good food and friendly staff go to Chertsey town the old swan or Crown are excellent.
