Lovely cafe. Chic decor and delicious, reasonably-priced made-to-order sandwiches, served promptly. I ordered a gluten-free egg mayo sandwich and there was no extra cost, which is not always the case. It arrived as a three-slicer, with the explanation that they did this as gluten-free bread slices are so small.

Great start with an introduction and the waitress spilling tea all over table, following a joke or two we are back on course whilst waiting for our very simple sausage sandwich and cold quiche, waiting, a cup of tea later, and waiting, another cup of tea, and waiting, table after us served, and waiting, wife decided enough is enough (half an hour I think) and has a word, cold quiche fresh from the fridge comes out with a cold sausage sandwich from a very disengaged fellow in the kitchen. As they cant be bothered after taking an order I wont be bothered to come back and go elsewhere.

We visited on a busy Saturday afternoon and were lucky to get a table. This was our first visit to Too Many Cooks, and won't be our last. The Mocha and Latte were lovely, perfect temperature and the flavour of the mocha was to die for. Regarding food, it has a good selection and all 3 of us went for different dishes and overall, we were left disappointed or hungry. I must note, the mushroom tart was lovely, but it hadn't been warmed through correctly and was almost cold in the centre... However, the flavour and texture made up for it and it was a great dish but could've done with being heated for a bit longer. This is not a deal breaker as everything else, including the service, was top notch.

We stopped by for a lite lunch and had 2 different types of quiches with side salad and a cup of tea. All very great. The quiches had a great flavour and light flaky pastry. My only complaint hence 4* not 5* is the rocket 'side salad' which was so small it was really garnish.

I have been coming to this coffee shop every week and some times every day since it first opened. I am particularly fond of it. For years it has been the only place to get a decent coffee in Dorking. This however is no longer the case with the Dorking deli now doing better drinks and more interesting and wide ranging food. I believe it’s time for two many cooks to step up a gear. With Starbucks about to open in the town (yuk) some custom will gravitate there which is why it’s all the more important that all of the town’s independents work to outdo the competition. - coffee making can be improved especially speed which is excruciatingly slow. - coffee quality is good but not exceptional...a visit to the best in London would demonstrate what the next standard of attainment should aspire To - the food is too predictable...more choice would be great, especially the cakes which are always the same. - and the decor is getting dated...it’s a late 90s early ‘00 look which is fine but could captivate more. A loyal customer who wishes you well...

I was disappointed after being charged £6.50 for a tiny bowl of carrot and a peppermint tea. I could understand if I was in London and the carrot had some meat in and the peppermint tea was aCoffee! The place is always over crowded and the options aren’t displayed in a user friendly way. The food gets written up onto a black board near the till area. Because the cafe is so small and there is usually a queue you don’t have time to read the options before someone is breathing down your neck asking what you want. In my opinion it’s over priced and over rated. Although they do a nice cappuccino.

After a walk around Dorking town centre we found this little cafe, serving coffee and tea (of course) plus a good selection of self prepared food. First visit to this cafe on a busy Saturday afternoon in Dorking, good selection of food and drinks available, however I felt that the service could be little more attentive. Had to ask for the table to be wiped down of sticky residue from the previous customer(s), very long wait for my toasted sandwich to the point where I was going to cancel my order, and I asked for a glass of ice for my orange juice which never arrived. Don’t get me wrong this is a lovely cafe with the right ethics, but my experience wasn’t quite deserving of 5 stars.

This was my first visit to Two Many Cooks in Dorking. The staff were very friendly and the food looked nice. I had an Americano which was ok... I personally thought it tasted slightly bitter. It was very busy and is obviously very popular, but I found it quite annoying that I had to get up out of my seat a couple of times so staff could get past with other customers’ orders. It was also extremely hot in there. Personally, I think they need a bigger establishment, as they have obviously outgrown the present one. I feel that with more space, my experience would have been much more relaxed and enjoyable.

The space is limited and given the quality of its coffee and food - the boiled eggs etc for breakfast are great - it is perhaps not surprising that it is often difficult to get a seat. If passing and there is space it is an ideal place to pop in have a coffee and be tempted by one of the many tasty offerings. However, all too often that is out of the question and I go elsewhere. There are good competitors within walking distance.

Two Many Cooks has been noted as the best coffee in Dorking, so I took my own measure of it on a rainy Monday morning. The flat white came with a swirly heart and rustic demera sugar lumps, and the crema was thick enough so that the lumps didn't sink right away--a good sign! I asked if the sausage roll was made in house, and the young lady at the counter noted precisely that it had come from their bakery up the road in Bookham--a 5 minute drive. Close enough. It came heated and topped with a handful of pepitas with savory sausage inside. At this point, I would credit the "best of" reports as true, until--if--we find better. Certainly a better option than Costa!

On the whole, great little coffee shop. Admittedly barista skills are a bit haphazard but you won't do better within the town. Two many cooks use Coffee Real beans which are pretty good quality and locally roasted, but if you like flat whites or other milk based preparations the product will rarely reach outstanding levels (compared to some independents in London). The shop is regularly busy and can prove a challenge to get a seat. It has a homely, well kept, but not distinctive atmosphere, think baby boomer's 'coast meets town' choice of decor....in essence nothing special. It does some excellent breakfasts like avocado on toast but could do a LOT better with staples like bacon butties (think over or underdone bacon ....though the bread from the Surrey hills bakery is excellent) or the range of cakes, which is pretty much always the same.So....on the whole very good but with a bit more attention this place could be excellent.

Have in the past had lovely staff, chatty, smiley and helpful but have always suffered from being soooooooooo slow with the service! Its actually almost painful how long it takes them to make a Cappucino/Latte. Normally between 8-10mins in my experience. Yes it can get busy at certain times and is popular with the "Dorking well to do". I once ordered an egg and bacon sandwich and latte to take out, they said it would 10 mins as they were busy which is fair enough, so, I went to waitrose and a couple of other shops and by the time I returned it still took another 7-8 minutes. Maybe staff turnover is high and its hard to get fast good people.

Perhaps this was just an off day but my breakfast sandwich was made with stale bread and my coffee was definitely 'soapy'. A shame given that the space looked nice and the bill of fare looked imaginative. Another distraction was the legion of staff who were more focussed on discussing the events of the night out the previous day, and one also got the feeling that the cafe was a secondary adjunct to a busy outside catering business. Two Cooks has a lot to learn from the likes of Cafe Mila in Godalming.

Simply the best coffee i've had for a long time...their flat-whites are awesome. Nothing like the milky rubbish you get at the more mainstream chains. For a great breakfast / brunch have the avocado on toasted sourdough, its brilliant. But you must have it with lime and chilli to get the proper experience!

Me and my girlfriend had a great experience stopping in for a toastie and drink. We were lucky to grab a window seat as it became available on arrival as it was very busy. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I Tried the sparkling Nettle juice which was surprisingly nice and my girlfriend really enjoyed her Belgium hot chocolate. The Ham and cheese toastie was both delicious and beautifully presented.

I stopped here today for a bite of lunch. Lovely decor, seated next to the window I watched the passers by. Really friendly staff, grated chocolate on the best cappucino I've ever had! The food was very reasonable and delicious! The only down fall was the half hour wait for soup and salad but we'll worth the wait. I'll be back tomorrow.

The constant buzz of this little hive of activity is brilliant, but it's the avocado on toasted sourdough - drizzled with chilli oil - that lures me back. It's quickly becoming my new favourite thing. :))

"Hidden gem" is, perhaps, a term overused by reviewers but in this case, situated on South Street, hidden it is not. But gem it most certainly is.A second visit by friend and I and we were again not disappointed.A three-course set dinner preceded by a welcoming glass of prosecco. And all for thirty quid! The starter of homemade pasta with pumpkin, parmesan and walnuts was pleasingly sweet and absolutely delicious with each ingredient perfectly complementing the other.A main course of slow roasted Sussex pork, borlotti beans, cavolo nero and truffle mustard dressing was, again, perfect and irresistible. And, keep it local (well, ok, neighbouring county...)With a melt-in-the-mouth pudding of bitter chocolate, hazelnut and pear cake, with creme fraiche, one realises it is not possible to simply suggest that the cook's forte lies in his puddings, the starters, or the main course. All were perfection and accompanied by a most acceptable, and very fairly priced, Rioja. Now, there are those who might not give such a high score suggesting, no doubt, room for improvement but I am content with my scoring. If, however, one were to be "picky," it is that friend thought cavolo nero slightly undercooked, and I felt sad for the staff that there were still a few places available and put this down to the amazingly short notice that the owners had given!?"Pop-ups" like this happen too infrequently for my liking but just go to show that Two Many Cooks, a relatively tiny venue, and Dorking dining in general, punches well above its weight. My only fear is that, once word gets around, I might find it more difficult to get to enjoy such an experience. Such are life's ironies...

This is one of my favourite cafes in Dorking as it always offers delicious food that is freshly made. The coffee is to die for and it is one of the few places in the area where you can get a lunch that is fresh, healthy and delicious for an incredibly reasonable price.

I prefer the Dorking café to the one in Reigate (which is also very good) as it is so cosy, perfect now the weather is a bit chilly in the morning. Always manage to get a seat, just. Visited today and there were 20 people which was a bit of a squeeze. Lovely rich hot chocolate made with grated, Belgian chocolate, accompanied by a brownie - baked just right, slightly crisp on top and perfectly moist. Partner enjoyed his sausage roll which smelt great.I've never eaten a meal here, but the breakfasts bring served were very tempting, will definitely be back another Sunday.

We were 'enticed' to divert here by the reviews on TA when in need of a good flat white coffee. Well we certainly found it - the coffee was excellent and worth a much longer diversion if required. The food looked very tempting too, but we had already had our lunch, so perhaps next time ...

Two Many Cooks has the best, freshest snacks of any cafe locally. It's so tiny that one has often to share with strangers, who often become friends.

Nice coffee and homemade cake. Not much room to sit down though so you can often skip going in because it's too full!

Reviews seemed good so gave it a spin. Asked for half pounder with cheese and bacon & chips. Rather than be told they don't do half pounders, I was served up two super skinny burgers, exceptionally dry, nothing special, minus the bacon. Took almost 15 minutes to come out. Disappointing. The salt lid wasn't properly secured, went all over the chips rendering them inedible. No offer of replacement. Left hungry. Won't return, poor quality food and equally poor service.

There is a really nice atmosphere in this café which has expanded in recent times. The background music is at a pleasant level for chatting and the food very good-the vegetarian open sandwich was particularly tasty.

I’m a local dog walker and use Ashtead cafe regularly, always find customer service is 10/10.. thoroughly enjoy a fry up and absolutely love their smoothies! It’s recently undergone a refurb and it looks amazing double the size and very Morden!

Hidden in Great Bookham is a charming, warm and quality focused Tea/ Coffee / brunch / lunch / cake … place, that has got the balance perfect. Service, quality , Ambiance and price meet in, what I can only call: perfection. We had brunch, lunch and afternoon tea here and have never been disappointed. The little garden behind the building is a tiny oasis if you want to sit outside.
