I am very particular about my chips..must be well cooked and crispy. At lunchtime they are done to my liking. The fish is delicious as is the batter. I live locally and have just started eating from this place. Now hooked. Great price too.

El estándar de la comida no se acercaba a nuestras expectativas y el inodoro olía un olor desagradable cuando fui a lavarme las manos. Lo peor de todo era que solo una camarera asistía alrededor de 7 mesas. Había visitado este restaurante anteriormente y sentí que los estándares han disminuido enormemente, pero no debido a Covid 19. Perdón por ser demasiado directo, pero me gusta dar críticas honestas.

La comida sabía bien, pero así debería ser por esos precios. El menú indica que se incluye un rollo con la mayoría de los platos principales de pescado, pero para nosotros, los rollos nunca se materializaron. Cuando se le preguntó, el gerente / propietario sin máscara trató de justificarlo diciendo que no todos quieren un panecillo con su comida. Bueno, ¿quién dijo que * nosotros * no queríamos uno? ¿Nos preguntaron? De todos modos, una canasta de pan vino con pequeños trozos de pan, ¡así que un trozo y medio para compartir con mi hermano! Hubiera sido bueno que el pan hubiera llegado antes que el pescado.No hubo atención y se sintió como si tuviéramos que rogar por todo, incluso para pedir y recibir la factura. Había una camarera allí, pero solo miraba desde lejos, con frecuencia, y me hizo sentir incómodo. Ella solo vino a cobrar cuando se le pidió. No había ningún miembro del personal a la vista cuando nos fuimos. Decepcionado.

Dos visitas en una semana durante nuestra visita a Londres a este conocido y reputado restaurante de pescado. La primera visita fue el domingo, y cuando entramos y vimos el lugar completamente vacío, comenté como una broma que no habíamos necesitado reservar. Esto se encontró con un comentario bastante sarcástico de la señora que trabajaba allí, pero más tarde se volvería casi hostil. Mi hijo, de 14 años, al ordenar, le preguntó cortés y cortésmente qué tan grande era el bacalao (no quería pedir más de lo que podía comer); la señora respondió preguntándole, de una manera poco amistosa e inútil, cómo se suponía que debía responder eso y que todos los tamaños eran diferentes; luego dijo "Es del mismo tamaño que el eglefino" (que yo había pedido), lo cual fue bastante inútil, ¡dado que tampoco habíamos visto el eglefino! Fue una respuesta innecesariamente hostil a un educado joven de 14 años: algo como "Es bastante grande" o "Estoy seguro de que podrás manejarlo" habría sido mucho más apropiado y útil.Da la casualidad de que las raciones eran enormes y la comida excelente: excelente eglefino (en matzomeal) y bacalao, y patatas fritas fabulosas. El postre de tarta de chocolate también quedó bien. El único aspecto negativo en términos de la comida real fue que el té que pedí se olvidó hasta el final de la comida, pero la camarera lo recordó por su propia voluntad y se disculpó.Cuando regresamos el viernes, la misma dama era su mismo yo antipático. Impresionantemente, ella se había acordado de nosotros de unos días antes (aunque ahora éramos 4 en lugar de solo nosotros 2, como habían estado en la primera visita), y, nuevamente, la comida era excelente.No sé si este lugar considera que su comida es tan buena que no tiene por qué ser especialmente agradable para los comensales. No sé si algo se "pierde en la traducción" con esta camarera (que habla con acento extranjero). Pero sé que cuando hablamos ahora de este restaurante, de lo único que hablamos es de la mesera antipática en lugar de la comida de primera.

Hace poco pedí pescado y patatas fritas para llevar de este restaurante y me sorprendió mucho cómo ha disminuido la calidad. He usado este restaurante de manera intermitente durante años y, aunque me di cuenta de que el tamaño de una porción de pescado se había reducido, la comida en general estaba bien. En mi última visita, sin embargo, las patatas fritas eran duras, de color oscuro y "viejas" con muchas virutas de patata del fondo del recipiente. El pescado estaba fresco y en general estaba bien, pero el pescado "grande" que pedí era solo de tamaño mediano. Por los 13 que pagué aproximadamente por pescado y patatas fritas grandes, definitivamente no obtuve un buen trato. Las patatas fritas fueron directamente a la papelera. No volveré a usar el restaurante y no puedo recomendarlo.

Plush surroundings. Nice decor. Overpriced and not especially interesting fish and chips. And the owner is frankly more than a bit weird: at times incredibly friendly, & other times aggressive. Not going back again.

I went there with my friend , who happens to be gay. This woman called Shirin actually said “ how do you know him, he is a bit over the top isint he “.Really is this allowed there !? Also I have had better fish and cheaper too. I think they are living on an old reputation.Shame on her.

Came for lunch and what a welcome , I had passed this restaurant for years but never went until today , one of the best Haddock and chips I have had and also the beautiful vegetable soup and soft bread .The waiter also looked after us with a smile and excellent service must say . This is a upper class Fish and Chips but worry it .Two brothers you have a lovely team .I will be back for sure .

Fui con mi esposo y mi hijo por una orden para llevar. La "señora" que tomó mi pedido dijo que volvería en 10-15 minutos para recogerlo. Fui allí después de 20 minutos, mucha gente venía a pedir su comida. El problema es que el cliente habitual recibió un trato diferente. Tuve que esperar 30 minutos porque los clientes habituales tienen prioridad. La señora que trabaja allí los conocía por su nombre y por eso acaban de entrar, orden y enseguida se llevaron la comida. Le pregunté a la señora qué pasó con mi pedido porque puedo ver que la gente viene, ordena y recibe comida allí. Ella me sonrió y dijo que si hablamos demasiado tendré que esperar nuevamente por un par de minutos. Ella fue muy grosera, no necesitan nuevos clientes porque están contentos con lo que ya tienen. Incluso si estaba tan molesta, ella se estaba riendo en mi cara como si no le importara lo que estoy diciendo. Le dije que tengo un bebé esperándome afuera y que debería decirnos si tenemos que esperar más, su respuesta fue traer al bebé. Quiero decir. . . . ¿Era esto una broma o qué? No sé a qué huele mi bebé a pescado frito porque no le importan en absoluto los nuevos clientes. Es la segunda vez que me pasa esto, pensé que la primera vez fue porque la mujer estaba teniendo algunos problemas, pero ¿adivina qué? ? No, ella no tiene ningún problema, esta es su actitud hacia los nuevos clientes. Definitivamente nunca volveré a comprarles, incluso si está cerca de mí. Tan decepcionado que no puedo explicar más.

We have take aways frequently from this restaurant and the food is always good. Cooked to oreder, and the fish is delicious whether in batter or matzo.

The restaurant was covered in tiny flies! This made the whole experience really poor. The staff could see we were struggling to enjoy our dinner yet didn’t come out to apologise or help. When we mentioned it in the end we were told they were good flies! Considering the price this was not great experience. I left most my food as I was put off and tables around us were struggling too.

Great fish & chip restaurant, good decor & friendly staff. Arbroath Smokie starter was delicious. Going back.

Hemos estado aquí la última vez hace un año, y ahora queríamos un almuerzo rápido entre otras cosas que teníamos que hacer en los alrededores.

A pesar de las indicaciones en línea de lo contrario, este restaurante abre algunos lunes para sus noches de jazz en vivo, y solo 5 se agregan a su mesa para el privilegio. La comida era excelente y no tengo ni idea de por qué otros comensales se han quejado ya que no había nada malo con nuestra comida. ¡Grandes porciones, papas crujientes secas y la opción de tener su pescado a la parrilla y papas nuevas si le preocupan las calorías! El jazz consistió en 3 sets, por lo que puedes sumergirte temprano, tarde, o quedarte toda la noche. El restaurante estaba bastante lleno, así que reservar en estas noches es una buena idea. El personal y la gerencia fueron muy amables y no dudaríamos en volver a visitar.

Has a marvellous time this Monday just gone. The smokikes were a pleasure and went for the whitebait. Nice of the managers son to make us feel so welcome. Never heard a jazz musician so added something nice

Nous avons choisi un fish & chips (haddock fillet 13.95L et cod (cabillaud) fillet (14.95L) accompagné de frites fraîches. Les portions sont de qualité. Pour un samedi soir il n'y avait pas grand monde et essentiellement des habitués. La serveuse a été très aimable et de bons conseils. Ce restaurant propose la vente à emporter.

Had an evening meal here and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The rock eel was very good. Overall a nice meal.

Este solía ser el mejor fish & chips en esta área. Parece que ha habido un deterioro gradual durante varios meses y ahora se ha hecho muy notable. He sido un cliente habitual durante más de 20 años, por lo que es triste decir que no volveré pronto. Los chips eran muy pobres. I had cod chips and drink for £5.50. Great value but the fish was tasteless. Not for me thanks I’m unsure if the restaurant is any better, I doubt I’ll be trying it.

I have been to this restaurant many times with my parents. It has consistent management and has a popular take away next door so stock turnover is good (and therefore fish always fresh). I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It is reasonably popular but could be more so and I think only location (North London) prevents it from being so. Well worth a journey. I highly recommend the grilled Bass or the Sea Bream. All the fried fish is good.

I can only write this review for the takeaway part of this restaurant and this does not apply to the main restaurant area .Today I was passing the two brothers takeaway and as it has been sometime since I was last in there I decided to stop and grab something to eat .On arrival I was greeted by the lady at the till.I asked for chips and she replied with which size looking at the size difference I opted for the large as the small portion was really small .I was told I would have to wait 5 mins for the chips to cook once ready the lady at the till put the chips in the carton and being that I paid for a large I expected the carton to be filled but this was not the case .Once the chips were put in I looked at them and noticed that this portion looked like something that had been sat for some time crusty old chips and I commented on the size .The guy behind the counter asked what the issue was I said the chips are very small in fact they look like the left overs from the base .He shuffles the chips up and then again put them in the carton and explained they are small because of the session .being that I could not wait and really did not have the time I said I’ll take them .

Was visiting someone in Finchley and we decided to have lunch. Came to two brothers. Ambiance is nice, service also good and cordial. I ordered haddock n chips and was good. A nice place.

He sido un cliente fiel regular durante más de 30 años. He dado este lugar tantas posibilidades y realmente quieren que sea como lo que solía ser. El personal es muy agradable, especialmente la camarera más largo. Ella es una delicia. Sin embargo, después de una constante tendencia a lo largo de los años, he visitado recientemente y fue la gota que colmó el vaso: el vino blanco estaba a temperatura ambiente. Hmm. Well, I will say the waiting staff were pleasant and my basic fried haddock seemed fine although sister-in-law wasn't thrilled with hers. The chips were average. Very disappointing that a British fish and chips staple of mushy peas was served luke warm and tasted awful, not fresh, as if from a tin. Really? So easy to do properly. The mixed salad and dressing was a blast from the past of the 1980s- not even bothered to cut the tomatoes. The toilet rooms were grungy and hand dryers didn't work. The windowed door that led to toilets was filthy too. The place needs to look at these downers. With the lack of effort to details there was a feeling that management don't care and rely on elderly loyals to visit. Saturday night service was virtually empty. Shame. Won't be going back.

Went here on one of the jazz night. Food was great, music was great ad service was exceptional. Great to see a family business doing so well. I will be back

I heard so many good things about this fish and chips restaurants but spoiled by some places I have to say that it was just average experience. Fish and chips were ok but a bit taste less, at least fish was fresh and chips not too bad. Nice place, very popular in Finchley but nothing wow.

La selección es grande, las raciones son muy generosas y la calidad de la comida es excelente, además de que el servicio era bueno y no era demasiado caro, en general, tuvimos una comida muy agradable abundante que puedo recomendar y sin duda volveré.

We've been suggested to try out this place as a simple and elegant fish and chips restaurant and were somewhat hesitant. However, our experience was outstanding, as not only have we enjoyed a delicious meal, but it was one of best fish and chips we've tried recently. Lemon sole goujons were fried to perfection - delicious, fresh, crispy juicy yet not oily at all. Accompanied by great chips, whey were accompanied by superfresh tasting mushy peas, great baked tomatoes and simple but very tasty coleslaw. We also had skate wing that was again very fresh and baked to perfection and very succulent steamed salmon with steamed potatoes. All of this was accompanied by light but tasty remoulade. Together with drinks, our bill came to total of just over £ 50 which we found very inexpensive for this quality of produce and food presented.Service was super-professional, unobtrusive yet very attentive. We shall certainly be back to explore other fish on the menu As far as fish and chips places go, though this is an upmarket variety, we can only highly recommend the restaurant.

I’ve driven passed this place for years, and this was my first visit. The place was almost empty. The first 2 or 3 wines selected were unavailable, so I was forced to spend more. Starters were OK, but the prawn dish wasonly luke warm, and the indIvidual who ate it was later ill. the fish was over cooked and dry. The chips were cool and over cooked. The new potatoes were served with no butter. I didn’t like the service either.

I know this place has been here for many years. I'm just visiting the area and although I've eaten here in the past, I don't really remember the meals I've had in the past. I do think they were pleasant enough.

Fish & Chips twice for lunch was the order of the day, a bit heavy but how great it was - not sure why the trip adviser rating is so poor - I’ve used this place regularly over the years and it always delivers. Fried to order and delivered to the table quickly - no hanging about for this plaice’s staff !

We went here with friends after talking about it for a while.

The waitress was very abrupt and unhelpful - she asked us if we were ready to order almost immediately after giving us the menu. She would not tell us the specials - told me to go look at the tv screen. The fish we ordered was very disappointing (tasteless). As soon as we finished we were presented with the bill and not even offered dessert or coffee. This was so disappointing as it was our anniversary. Expensive for what it was. Only thing in its favour was the wine which we ordered.

Sin embargo, ponen el 'libre de gluten' pescado cocinado en el mismo lugar que el pescado frito normal. Went in with a group of work mates after lunch. They have very good fish and chips. Would recommend.

Have passed this restaurant many times on my way to or from the Catcher in the Rye but, with that pub closed for renovations, it was time to give Two Brothers a try. What a disappointment. The Spring Roll starter was fine, but the Cod Goujons were virtually inedible – tasting of little more than cardboard. Honestly, I have had better wrapped in yesterday’s paper – and at a third of the price. This is not an up-market chippy – it’s not even a chippy!And why does someone who I presume is the “boss” have to stand surveying his empire and its few customers?First and last visit. Give this one a miss.

Its more of a sitting Fish & Chips restaurant rather than a Fish Restaurant.Bit expensive for what you get.

We went here on Sunday evening for fish and chips, and we were pleasantly surprised that the restaurant wasn't crowded. The servicewas good, and we all ate the hake and chips, except my husband who had the cod. The latter was fatter, but didn't have as much taste as the hake, but all the portions were nice and hot, large, and both the batter and chips were crisp .We also had mixed salads, and I would recommend to anyone eating there that if they order a salad to ask for a dressing of some kind or oil and vinegar.

Just moved back to the area after 10 years and we decided to visit. The fish was better than ever. We chose haddock and cod fried in matzo meal, which is lighter than the normal batter. It was delicious! Large portions, good quick service and reasonably priced. Recommended.

Used to visit The Two Brothers resteraunt frequentlyl when I lived in the area; a firm favorite, with its only downfall being it was often so crouded that you had to wait for a table. My visit yesterday was certainly no problem in that department though. One of the managers sitting in the corner and another couple.... That was it. Having spent the evening there it was clear why that was. The fish was good, as was the chips. The smokey arbroth, which used to be the go-to highlight of the meal, was over salted and largely unappetizing. The waitress advised against the mash, but we foolishly ignored it. Bad move. Grey and lumpy and it went straight back! Really sad that such an institution has become so mediocre, if not to say poor. I guess the gentleman who ran the place years ago have retired, but whoever has the control over it now should be ashamed. I trust that the takeaway prices are more reflective of the product, but eating in is poor value for money. Such a shame

We are staying close by and used the take away part of this business and enjoyed great service and excellent food. The portions are generous and beautifully cooked. We enjoyed cod and chicken and both were tasty and crisp. We will definitely revisit and recommend this establishment wholeheartedly.

This once popular restaurant offering quality fish and chips is now a complete let down. Soggy, tasteless fish, obviously frozen. I could count the chips on my plate. The new owners are obviously counting the chips carefully. A wine glass on the table which was obsolutely filthy. Definitely not returning to this disaster ever again! Don't waste your time or money! Avoid!

We visited this restaurant lunchtime. last Sunday for a family celebration.There was only one other table of four people in the restaurant when we arrived, but they finished and left, leaving us as the only table to be served. Perhaps this should have spoken volumes about the service in this restaurant.We are an easy going polite family of adults, but the waitress had an attitude problem and we found her rude and surly with a sneering manner. Getting glasses for water and later refilling water jugs appeared to be a problem for her. Getting the wine which had been ordered was also another problem for her even though it later transpired, the restaurant did in fact have the wine in stock - nothing special but something which would have enhanced the meal.Food was however excellent, but experience spoiled by this poor service. Get your act together Two Brothers!!

I am a regular here, usually its very good. But I ate in the restaurant and was very disappointed. Chips were not freshly cooked, fish was tasteless. I will treat it as a one off as it's usually so good and hope it will be back to its usual standard.

Waiter managed to "forget" our drinks order after well over 20 mins and after needing to remind a second waiter twice they brought a wrong order. When the food arrived it was a disappointment : cod and chips less than average , grilled cod completely tasteless accompanied by a salad (as a side order) of very poor quality (and charged nearly £4). Drinks extremely expensive, i.e., £4.05 for a bottle of sparkling water! All in all very disappointing visit and not at all cheap . We used to be regular Costumers a few years ago, but will not be coming back anytime soon .

Not how I remember this restaurant (although I haven't been in a quite a while}. Awful food and non-existent service. The waitress was very disinterested in us and a few lessons in the charm school wouldn't go amiss. The tartare sauce which they served with the fish was vile - it did not taste anything like tartare sauce - when I asked the Manager if this was correct, he assured me it was. Never have I ever tasted tartare sauce like that. Will not be returning to this restaurant again - there are far better fish shops out there.

I had dinner here, the fish and chips were excellent and the staff were friendly and looked after us. What more could one ask for! I would definitely go back. I've also heard that the jazz nights run here once a month are well worth going to, so I'll be at the next one.

Once upon a time this was easily the best fish & chips in London, unfortunately due to complacency they are now just average, sometimes it's very good but sometimes it is just fair, I don't think it's ever bad. Portions are good service is good to fair, nice and clean, owner a bit strange & very insincere, I would go back , but today there are plenty of very good fish restaurants around & 2 brothers is now a "has been"

Came for a business lunch. All the food was awesome Was very quiet However the hosts were welcoming and accommodating

We booked this for Valentine's night and had a free bottle of prosecco with our 3 courses - great! The food was good - the menu is much the same as it's always been, and the skate wing was lovely. However, the 2 waitresses, who have been there for years so should know the ropes, gave us extremely slow service despite the restaurant being only a third full. Not good enough! And some of the old atmosphere and buzz has gone. Still the best fish shop in London, though.

I only do takeaway here so not sure what the experience is eating in.Quality is great, value for money it is ok, staff is great so if you live around here forget Deliveroo, don't be lazy the walk if worthy.I consider it one of the best Fish and Chips in the area!

I had take away from here last night. The fish was fresh and the chips well cooked and soft. Very generous portions and delicious. Fish and Chips is a treat if it is good, and this was excellent. Looking forward to my return.

went for family dinner {about 14} staff excellent very friendly , food not as It was was before renovation ,I used to go there often not any more.

My first visit to this well established fish restaurant.Staff were very welcoming. It was a very cold evening and sitting by the windows was a bit cold.The selection of fish was very good and quickly served. The Sea Bass was excellent, accompanied with the usual portion of chips. Looking forward to trying their take away service.

We have been regular visitors to this local restaurant and have taken many overseas friends there too.I ordered a take-away of four grilled fish (halibut and haddock), mushy peas, mashed potatoes and two portions of chips.The experience was worse than last time's which was just OK. The chips were retried and very stiff, the fish was dry and not evenly grilled and some parts were raw. Having spent nearly £50 I think it was very poor value for money.Quality of food and service is more important than mere upgrade of display boards.They need to rethink whether they want to go back to their old standards.Ar.

We haven't been to The Two Brothers for years as we thought the quality had gone down hill. So we thought we would give it a go this evening. We ate in the restaurant. We had 1 child's portion of goujons and chips, 1 haddock in matzo meal and 1 cod in batter, both with chips. The food was lovely, crispy chips and crispy batter all round. The fish was lovely and fresh tasting. The staff were very friendly too. This will now be our regular fish 'n' chip take away.

The Two Brothers Fish Restaurant on Regent’s Park Road, Finchley is a handsome little Fish & Chips ‘shop’ which also serves an assortment of grilled fish and seafood. Our party of eight ordered evenly, half haddock and the other half cod. I tried both and found them equally well battered, perfectly fried and crunchy, but preferred the cod (I ordered haddock). Try the jellied eels, they’re fantastic with a squirt of lemon/lime and a dash of Tabasco. Service is good, making up for the lack of smiles with speed. Worth a visit. Oh, and if you don’t want to visit but still want to give them a try, there’s a dedicated take away next door.Waste NOT. Want NOT.

I have been going to the Two Brothers since I was a child. It was the archetypal fish and chip restaurant with an eclectic clientele and a buzzy, fun atmosphere to match. Clearly those days have gone and have been replaced by an overpriced fish restaurant that seems to think engraving their name in the back of the chairs means that you "really don't need to try anymore."The restaurant was extremely quiet, yet the two people serving, seemed incapable of bringing a bottle of ketchup to the table let alone offering anything that resembled the kind of service that should be offered in an establishment with its historical reputation.The fish was ok (if a little dry) and the chips were….chips.No effort was made to present the food in a manner commensurate with the price. The chips that accompanied the pasta were thrown on the table before the main course arrived, with no explanation.The "waitress" rather rudely cleared the wineglasses, reaching across the diners and chucking the napkins back on the table.We had to ask for FISH AND CHIP condiments three times before they finally arrived.The food was subsequently cleared in a haphazard way leaving a congealed remnant of a pot of mushy peas on the table long after everything else had gone.We were asked if we wanted anything else and when we asked for the menu there was a nod and the waiter disappeared not to be seen again. We again asked for the menu.At the end of the meal we had a debate about whether we should leave a tip.Convention said yes, but frankly nothing else indicated that we were satisfied with the service, because we most definitely weren't! It was not appropriate to approach the manager with our concerns, as we continued to believe that the service would improve.Having completed my meal and returned home I can reflect on how dreadful the service really was.Buck up your ideas two brothers or your restaurant may only end up serving two covers!

We have eaten in the restaurant a few times and the food has been OK, the service can be a bit surly, it is not a place to linger, you eat and go. More often have had takeaway which is not so good and can vary from edible to not very nice. We have stopped getting it from there a few times but gone back in case it has improved. Today was exceptionally disgusting. The fish was mostly skin coated in a very thin layer of slime and covered in some very old looking batter, both the small and regular portions were the same. Having spat it out I thought, OK at least there are chips. However these were also inedible as they were under-cooked in the middle. The result of this was that both meals went in the bin and Two Brothers has lost future custom as we have no dinner. I am sure that fish should not be kept long enough to turn to slime and be served as food. If they don't want to work between Christmas and New Year they should close rather than serving stale food that has been waiting around for a week or more.I had to leave a rating otherwise there would not have been even one star. Think very carefully before you get takeaway from here.

We went for lunch with friends and I had suggested this restaurant as we have tried the take away which is reasonably priced. Oh dear! Where do I start? Appalling service, average food and overpriced. We had to literally get up and find the lone girl who was serving so many times as no one was attending our table. She had an attitude and the whole experience was frustrating. We asked for water at least 4 times, food was served lukewarm and wasn't of great quality either. We had to ask for ketchup and tartar sauce and the tartar sauce tasted more like mustard sauce.Had we not had the lunch deal for £9.95 I would be even more furious! I would certainly not pay more than this for the quality of food we had and the quality of service we endured. My advice is STAY AWAY and spend your time and money somewhere else worthwhile.

Na een dagje London kwamen wij aan het eind van de dag dit restaurant tegen.Nadat we op onze nieuwe, schone glazen nog goed duidelijk de lippen(stift) van de vorige gasten aantroffen en om nieuwe glazen hadden gevraagd konden we een menu uitkiezen.Natuurlijk wilde ik de welbekende Fish & Chips graag eens proeven. Hoewel de bediening vlot was vond ik het eten tegen vallen, weinig smaak. Maar goed, smaken verschillen. De burger van mijn vriendin viel wel in de smaak.Het was binnen wel erg lawaaierig, meerdere tv's in het restaurant stonden hard aan op verschillende voetbalprogramma's en weddenschappen.Hierdoor gingen gasten erg hard met elkaar praten om elkaar nog te kunnen verstaan. Behoorlijk chaotisch dus.Wanneer ik weer eens in London ben zal ik niet snel meer naar dit restaurant gaan.

It has been 16 years since I returned back to this restaurant, and the quality, presentation of the food and the service is still excellent. Good quality food, and the waitress even remembered me from all these years ago ! GF never a problem here, my Halibut was absolutely wonderful. Can't wait to go back to North London and go back to the Two Brothers.

Visited for the first time in about 3 years. Surprised I haven't done a review.Very pleasant place, nice staff and atmosphere.Food was good and well presented with plenty of choices. Good selection of wines and drinks too.

We were looking forward to a relaxing fish lunch after a lovely visit to the Avenue House Gardens nearby.We were greeted by a gentleman who pointed us to a seat by the window.He made it clear there was no other choice,althogh there were very few people there.He was friendly at the beginning of taking our order,but when we asked to explain the difference of plaice on the bone and filletts,he was very particular and asked,haven't you had it before.We settled for the filletts which was ok.What really put us off was he kept stairing at us standing nearby watching every mouthful we took and saying nothing.On leaving we saw a notice on the door closed.When we arrived he never told us what time they closed.We will never go there again or recommend it to anyone.

I eat at plenty of take aways some of which have fab reviews where I eat regularly it just happened I was local to two brothers. Have eaten before in main restaurant but before they renovated.I ordered takeaway and was very disappointed at the cost for what I ordered had been given the smallest piece of fish and simply asked for a refund that I was grateful to be given. Shame I didn't get to taste

Lovley staff, great food. Even they were busy, the waiter came to us to apologise for the delay. Really good food as well and a good location on finchley.Definatelly recommend

Its a respectfully looking place in the centre of Finchley. Saying that, I didn't think that the person serving us has a talent for serving. I'm sure she didn't want to be mean but she came across as very rough and short. My fish was ok (although much to big a portion), the fries were acceptable but the side salad was not nice at all. Honestly, its ok to try once but I don't think I will go again.

The place has changed hands over the years. It used to be just fresh fish, hence closed on a Monday. Now they are trying jazz nightI enjoyed both the food and the jazz. Was the fish frozen ? No idea, but it was tasty!

Nothing special and very little atmosphere. Visited on a Tuesday evening and hardly any diners. Fish ok and plenty of chips but overall a little disappointing. Would not rush back.

The fried fish was totally tasteless. The grilled fish was also tasteless and way over cooked. Fish soup now also tasteless.Shocked at how much the food has deteriorated.I was initially surprised how empty the restaurant was, but now I know why. Over the years, we have been perhaps 60 times. We won't be back.

The staff were very nice but the food was tasteless. My husband said his meal had no taste as well. I would certainly not visit again

I have tried tejir take - away twice and twice have been dissapointed. The portions are meager and the prices are far too high for the 'quality' of food served. A meal that should be simple and filling, leaves you feeling out of pocket and unsatisfied.

My husband wanted me to enjoy some traditional English fare so we stopped into Two Brothers for dinner. We both ordered the special - braised ox cheek and barley pie - and it was delicious! Our two starters - fried cauliflower and salmon - were also good. Great introduction to English food.

Amazing food, fish especially was superb. Portions were huge especially for London and the price was very reasonable. The staff were so lovely and let us stay late even though they were clearing up to close. I have booked for a few weeks for another client lunch and am already so looking forward to it!

I used to visit this fish restaurant when it was Longs Fish Bar and it has changed hands over the years. We visited Two Brothers for a family birthday meal. The service was slow and there did not seem to be any communication between the waiting staff, as several come up to us asking if we wanted drinks, when we ordered them they then said they didn't have one of a particular juice, then after it finally arrived after a long wait, it was the wrong one! Some of our party ordered fish in matzo meal which was charged at 50p extra (no other restaurant I have been to charges extra). The food took a long while in arriving, waitresses kept coming up to ask if we had ordered! I found my fried haddock rather tasteless though the chips were lovely and crispy. All in all, it was disappointing food wise, though good in entertainment value for the eccentric way it was run, but I would not hurry back.

There is a restaurant and take away. Tried both. Prices very reasonable. Service friendly but not the fastest. Still worth going as food fresh and tasty. Gluten free options available. Big plus for gluten free fish and chips to take away!

Came in for a takeaway and haven't been to eat in so don't know what it's like sitting in.Ordered a cod and chips and was told after I'd paid that it would be a 15 minute wait. There was cod available on display though?!Popped home and came back within 15 minutes to come back to telephone orders coming in and being served before me. I have no idea what their business model and I don't think they do as its confusing and bereft of any idea.So after a further 7-8 minutes I got my order. Came home and discovered a scampi sized cod piece after asking for a decent sized one and it being on the oily side. Asked for salt and vinegar and needed more as the two on the counter don't understand what they're serving by the looks of it.Chips were the only pro to this meal which are foolproof to get right in my opinion. Cod was bland, oily, and boney. The batter was hard on the bottom leading me to believe it was turned in the fryer.Not sure if this place has changed hands but it's pretty dire. Fish and chips are hard to get in London at the best of time without them being advertised in kebab shops so when one that actively promotes itself as one and is well below par it's a bit disappointing.

We haven't been to Two Brothers for a very long time and since we were last there it has changed hands and had a makeover.The Cod and chips we had was as good as it was previously and as good as we have anywhere in the uk. The Cod and the batter were both spot on and the chips were excellent.Very generous portion and good value.Liked the the new environment very much and the service was very good.Will definitely go back again.
