Outstanding. Simple as that . Visiting from Cornwall to see my nan is Petersfield. Dominique had full English and a coffee. I had Eggs Benedict . Stopped off for breakfast here this morning following online recommendations. A lovely, busy café which is clearly well loved as many of the tables were booked and there was a steady flow of customers from the moment it opened. Lovely breakfast, plenty to choose from, great coffee and friendly, efficient service!

Lovely place, seating reminded us of restaurants in the Alps! (Although that may have just been the cold weather) They have padlocks round the back, ask staff for the codes (no idea how often they get changed though!) Great cake portion sizes!

Excellent little hidden gem in Liss. Went here for my 50 th family brunch and it was really lovely. Great service, lovely surroundings and fantastic food, we will certainly return.

Delicious breakfast always, and during our last visit they offered to take our unsettled 11-month-old off our hands for cuddles and entertainment so we could enjoy our breakfast. If that's not 5* service, I don't know what is!

Freshly cooked food, very well presented by charismatic staff. Nothing is too much trouble and there’s flexibility in the menu.

We went for breakfast and had their eggs Benedict and coffee and tea. The service was excellent, the setting was attractive, and the food was yummy. We would go back again.

Has a really enjoyable veggie breakfast. The food was spot on! Tasty, hot and served on a warmed plate. Cute little blackboard menu’s with chalk for the little ones. Nice touch. Well done Turtle Bean. You’re doing a great job.

I went here with my girlfriend for breakfast. It was fairly busy with just a couple of tables available. The young woman who met us took our order within a few minutes and our coffees were brought to the table very quickly, the coffee was fantastic. I had the full English which was great and my girlfriend had scrambled eggs with soda bread which she says was very tasty and she loved the bread. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Liss with great food and drink, friendly staff and a pleasant place.

An hour in this cafe restored my faith in the notion of a cafe as a community centre. The service was warm, chatty and inviting. Customers talked to me and to each other and the back yard was a perfect sun and shade location to enjoy a brilliant full English. Great work Turtle Bean team!

This place has a great feel to it, the food is fantastic. The staff are very well trained obviously, we love this cafe.

Lovely courtyard at the back. Real suntrap. Loops to put a lead on and dog bowl available. Helpful staff with a good variety of tempting cakes and thirst quenching drinks

Lovely welcome from the ladies working there. Had an unplanned and unbooked brunch whilst driving cross country. They were busy from 12 but fit us in at 11 and the food/service/atmosphere were all wonderful. Recommend! X

Great addition to the local area. Excellent in every way.

Great place and I've been lucky to get a table on the weekend for breakfast/brunch. It can get busy. Vegie and vegan options available, if that's how you roll. Plenty of parking available just a short walk away. Friendly folk and lovely food. Additional seating available out the back, if it's a dry/sunny day. A few walks and cycle routes nearby too, so you can exercise before or after. Might be best booking ahead if there are a few of you. Edit 16/4/23 disappointed today. Cremated bacon and service below par. A shame really. Normally it's really good.

Great spot. One of the hottest Cafés in the downtown area.

Had a full English which was very nice, although it did sit on the service rail for a while. But it's under new management, so they get a pass. The burger is no longer on the menu, it would be great if that could be out back on.

We were recommended to this quaint little cafe and we certainly weren't disappointed. The food was superb and the service, with a smile, was excellent. I had Hungarian goulash soup with granary bread which was absolutely delicious and my wife had sandwiches with one of the most chunky fills I've ever seen. Brilliant!

Beautiful environment and nice meal

We visited on a Saturday morning and were warmly welcomed by one of the ladies. Our breakfasts were all really nice, good quality ingredients and generous portions especially the use of bacon which we had in a bacon sandwich and with pancakes. My only niggle, and reason for not giving 5 stars is that the prices in the cafe were a fair bit higher than on their website. We all understand rising prices but just need to keep the website updated.

Went for a small lunch with the kids and they loved it! Extra friendly staff and the homemade cakes were delightful x

Went in for Sunday breakfast and waited over 50 mins before walking out having still not been served after several other diners arrived later and were served their breakfasts. The meals looked very nice but a painfully slow service with no order of customer. After complaining we were told 5 mins, 10 mins later still no food hence we left. We also waited far to long to give our order and too long for beverages to arrive. Needless to say no matter how nice the food looked will not go back or recommend.

Have visited here 5/6 times in the last year. Fantastic breakfast/brunch every time. Freshly cooked & very tasty. Good idea to book table as incredibly busy at weekends. Staff are attentive and seem to enjoy what they do. They are also very flexible with changing an item or two to suit. Portion size is good and price point competitive. Highly Recommended.

Absolutely rubbish service - 45 mins for breakfast - ended up walking out hungery - don't go there! Appalling

We went to have a breakfast with all the family and it was yummy yum yum!! The people that worked there were so friendly, the service was fast and the food was delicious along with the hot drinks. Love that there are options for smaller size fry ups too. If you around Liss and want to have a great meal or chill with a coffee, this is the place.

Second visit to The Turtle Bean recently, such lovely staff and food. The ladies are so friendly. They certainly cheer up a dreary winter day. Love the specials and the quality of the food is great. I wish I could make poached eggs like that! The choice on the menu is lovely, fresh and nicely presented. The cakes are delicious (I’ve tried a few) coffee lovely and the white hot chocolate - In still thinking about it..I must get out more! Glad we booked a table, as every table was taken. Hubby had the full English and I had the healthier option of poached eggs..avocado, spinach and pesto, it was delicious. Toast is chunky and fresh. Used to visit before it changed hands in December. The staff seem so much happier now - (did find the last owner a tad grumpy) or maybe I visited when he was having a bad day. Can’t believe how anyone could leave a negative review!

I generally pop in once or twice a week. This is a popular little café in the heart of Liss village. The menu its vast and has options for everyone. The waiting time can be lengthy at peak times but always worth it. The new management show their enthusiasm and skills when serving customers and the staff in the kitchen deserve a medal for dealing with the huge numbers of orders they get. All in all, a lovely little café I hope continues to thrive.

Just popped in to see if they could accommodate the two of us as reviews really good, two members of staff walked right past me without even a smile, let alone asking me how they could help, or let me know that someone would be with me! I felt invisible so walked out. I've genuinely never had that experience before, staff probably require customer service training.

Very poor food had to leave hungry in the end over cooked and rock hard, waited 45 minutes prior to receiving food then a further 15 minutes for nothing to appear walked out hungry will not return

This was our go to for a decent breakfast after our last visit was disappointing in October we thought we would give it another go today , reserved a table arrived promptly to wait 45 minutes for what can only be described as well done/nuked food totally burnt and Rock hard, after the lady come over to the table she could see the food was not good and should not have left the kitchen, we then waited a further 15-20 minutes before having to leave disappointed, currently sat in another cafe in Petersfield drinking and eating a freshly cooked breakfast. There problem is the staff / kitchen can not cope with the amount of covers ordering upon opening, unfortunately we will not be returning Below is a sample of the delightful food

A Sunday morning breakfast jaunt to this popular and friendly local cafe… We arrived just before official opening time, but the place was already keeping the locals fed and watered. I had the Eggs Benedict which was fresh and tasty, accompanied by a nice cappuccino. The scrambled eggs and toast offered a good option too. By the time we left just after 1100, the place was take-away only, as it was full to capacity. It’s great to see a local cafe so full. The cake display was also very tempting, so if you visit, make sure you check this out. With free parking nearby, this is definitely a good spot for a relaxed meal and in our case, a good catch up with friends.

Working nearby I stopped off for a breakfast and it was absolutely 10 out of 10 for quality and amount of food! The owner and her staff were ever so warm and friendly too! Have been back since and would go out of my way to come here. From an English breakfast connoisseur

Stopped off in Liss on the way to Fareham for a couple of nights. Fancied a drink and maybe some brunch. Spotted the Turtle Bean Cafe as we drove through, parked up in the nearby FREE car park and walked back. Not a huge choice on the menu, and might have baulked a bit at the prices... My Eggs Benedict (with bacon, not the traditional ham) was the best I've ever had - the eggs were spot on, as was the hollandaise. Lovely bacon too. My wifes Eggs Royale (smoked salmon) was excellent too. Lovely staff, and obviously loved and well-used by the locals.

Visited for lunch. Two toasted tuna paninis and cappuccinos. A long wait before we got our food. Very disappointed in the quality of the food. Plus very expensive.

Dropped in for lunch on a local recommendation. Brilliant old fashioned British cafe. Staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Simple menu with plenty of vegetarian alternatives. No more than 30 covers it is a cast place. Breakfast foods are served all day - great. Food is all cooked to order so be prepared for a wait, but it's worth it. The poached eggs are outstanding. Our order required five to be done at the same time, perfectly done a real culinary masterpiece. The cake/sweet counter is a real tour de force.

The staff were very welcoming and went above and beyond for my tricky dietary requirements. Myself and my children thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

Probably the best independent coffee shop / cafe in the Surrey ,Hampshire border area. We were served a fantastic breakfast ,by a lovely waitress .Coffee was top drawer . The place is clean and well cared for ,the staff attentive and friendly .... We stopped off after a dreadful night at an appalling campsite and this little coffee shop was a real morale booster ...

Brunch offering over cooked, bacon was so hard, it couldn't be cut. The tomatoes were just skins. Most unappetising. Toilets were clean and staff pleasant enough. Won't eat there again.

Delicious food for lunch and the best cake around. Not expensive either! Would recommend to anyone in the area. Bonus that it’s child and dog friendly too!

Lovely little Café, with good honest food. Very accommodating to requests and guests with young Children. Mrs loved the Avocado Special and I am very full yet very impressed with the Burger! Top-Notch, home made food and un-stuffy, relaxed atmosphere.

We visited Turtle Bean on the way to Chessington. We’d never been there before and I found them via a Google search. We had a wonderful breakfast, but more than that was the welcome. Incredibly friendly people. Even the locals wished us a good morning....

The best breakfast in the whole of Hampshire, and the staff are brilliant, always busy as the food is just so good. If you ever pop in make sure you try the brownie as well!!

Nice leaf tea served on the patio at the back of the shop. Treacle tart - wow! Full marks for products & service.

Delicious coffee and the most fabulous selection of amazing cakes (we sampled the sticky ginger cake and the praline cake) topped off with really friendly service. I'd go again!

We took my mum here for a birthday lunch today. We all chose something off the specials board and everything was delicious, generous portions too. The cakes looked fabulous but we were all too full to have any more. The staff are polite and friendly and there is a nice feel to this cafe. Will definitely be back. Mark & Julia
