Food was nice however they don't clean the poo pipe on the prawns and it's very off putting and very possible to do so and keep the shell on.

Delish sea food and friendly staff, cant ask for more :). It would be lovely if more options are available for combo though. Maybe too many prawns can be substituted for mussles or clamps.

Always the best food and best service at Fishbowl. My mum and I will keep coming back because it never disappoints. Cocktails are slow creepers but so nice. Food is always piping hot and the sauce is immaculate.

I've been to the Turtle Bay so many times, I love it here. I've also had the best bottomless brunch here previously. The food is good, the offers are great (241 cocktails before and after a certain time) and so too is the app which gives you generous money off vouchers from time to time and other goodies. I also only go out on Fridays and Saturdays which I did on this occasion but on this occasion, for some reason, the music was, I think from 9.30pmish, SO LOUD YOU SERIOUSLY COULDN'T HEAR YOUR FRIEND WHO WAS SITTING RIGHT OPPOSITE YOU. I get that they want to drum up business and draw in footfall by advertising themselves as a 'fun and lively' place to go to but when it's at the expense of the customers already dining there, there's something wrong. It really took the shine off the evening, it was annoying, it was just 9.30pm on a Saturday, hardly the clubbing hour. If I had known the music was going to be that loud, I wouldn't have ordered the second round of cocktails. It was so bad I made me seriously reconsider ever dining here again. When we asked the waiter why the music was so loud, we couldn't actually hear his response! Please Turtle Bay, rethink the loud music policy, I love your restaurant and don't want to stop going!

I recently had the chance to indulge in a seafood boil, and overall, it was a satisfying experience. The dish came packed with a variety of flavors, but what truly stood out was the **sauce**—it had just the right balance of spices and richness, perfectly complementing the seafood. The **potatoes** also deserve a special mention, as they soaked up the sauce beautifully and provided a hearty, satisfying bite. That being said, while the food itself was top-notch, the price did feel a bit on the expensive side. For what was served, I would’ve expected it to be a bit more budget-friendly. However, the quality and taste somewhat justified the cost. In terms of rating, I’d give it a solid **8/10**. If you’re in the mood for something indulgent and don't mind spending a bit more, it’s worth trying out!

Fantastic service and food. It's the first time I took my young teenager for a sea boil. We loved both starter and main. Will highly recommend. And will definitely be back with the bigger party. Thank you for an amazing food. ❤️

Eight of us traveled from East to South London to try Fishbowl Food was awful. Prawn’s we’re overcooked, lobster tasted off, no eggs sausage or muscles in the seafood boil and portion’s were very small for the prices. My first trying seafood boil and I would never go there again.

Visited the fish bowl today and was blown away by the food- I had king prawns and chips the prawns were cooked to perfection. The calamari sauce was out of this world. Great service our waitress Bola was the perfect host. Simply 10/10. Definitely will be back and will definitely be recommending

Service was good however I ordered a Don Julio and got given the wrong shot twice. Didn’t bother complaining or making a fuss after the second time. We ordered the lobster boil bag which was the most expensive boil bag to share, however when it came out it was a little underwhelming as the crab portion didn’t really live up to the expectations. Flavours weren’t amazing and the seafood was frozen which was disappointing. Decent experience but wouldn’t recommend unfortunately.

1. Food taste microwaved, and gone off lobster has no taste very hard and tough to eat. Garlic butter was just melted butter no garlic. I told them I wanted my boil bag plain but it was drained in a sauce that was absolutely disgusting. I didn’t eat the potato or sweetcorn. You don’t get the the full snow crab leg I received two legs on the crab which is absolutely a piss take as I didn’t get what I paid for . Black lady was kind but I did not agree with her telling me where to put my rubbish when eating. Let me eat how I want to eat don’t tell me where to put my rubbish. Let me enjoy my experience on my own don’t try to control my experience here. Lastly 10 mins after I had finished eating and paid and left the place I had diarrhoea instantly and I am pregnant. As someone that runs a restaurant myself this food is not fresh and is absolutely disgusting. Hot and juicy shrimp is where u get fresh seafood. Strongly and I say this with passion , You don’t get what you pay for, there is no meat in the crab or lobster, I don’t recommend this place at all This was a terrible experience never again

My friend took me here for my birthday, it was delicious! We got two of there boil bags and OMG it was some of the best sea food we’ve ever had. Whatever sauce they put on the sea food is amazing. Bola our waitress was amazing, so kind and accommodating. Top service! We will definitely be back and I recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood.

Seaboil,Initially arrived cold, but the issue was promptly rectified. Drinks Decent, but the overproof rum was barely detectable. If you're familiar with overproof rum, you know how potent it should be. -Gloves and aprons are provided, and definitely needed, as the meal can get quite messy. Overall, while the venue is charming and the service is responsive, there are some areas for improvement, particularly with the drinks.

After going to numerous sea food boils having nice spicy flavours, this isn’t the one, taste like some tomato paste with the smallest kick, terrible I’m terms of flavours, potato over cooked , corn was over cooked and got cold quick , the king shelled prawns has poo inside and was over cooked , lobster was ok but the sauce was terrible , and we asked for super spicy , 90% of the drinks are just out of a carton , the lady’s was nice but food seriously basic, hate to say it go elsewhere, the good reviews don’t make sense on these reviews, and this is our second time, both the same, spend over £100 for nothing , had to tell them to take the 12% service charge add on off, no Cajun hot sauce not even garlic butter , was some African tomato type sauce with a splash of oil, no spice at all….

Sauce was terrible. It wasn't a Cajun nor a seafood boil. The corn was cold, the sauce wasnt good. The shrimp was over boil. The server was good though, very helpful.

Attended fish bowl in Brixton today, from the start we was put of by the trains running above us every few minutes, we literally had to hold on to our drinks. Then we ordered the most expensive boil at £57 with lobster, crab and prawns… the lobster was over cooked and as chewy as a flip flop and when I cracked a prawn it still had the poo sack in it. I would totally recommend going somewhere else!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!

Food was very sour, was not impressed, the workers were incompetent, waited so long and they we’re unaware to my order, corn sour, drinks not impressed, everything was a disappointment. I don’t recommend this place!!!

- Spicy SeaMix boil = Was nice but the potato was overcooked and the dish was just way too expensive for the amount of food that was given. - Cajun chips = Really tasty. - Squid and calamari mix = Also really nice. - Non-alcoholic pina colada = Was nice but a bit too overwhelming. Overall I'd recommend this place for the sides but not for the overpriced seafood boil.

Restaurants in Brixton are on the whole a great way to spend an evening - an eclectic mix of cuisine and drinks, engaging proprietors and creative venues. Sadly we were left underwhelmed by Fishbowl. We’d finished one starter before the second - merely mixed olives in a glass bowl…. which tasted like a cheap tin from a local supermarket - arrived. The sea bass was indeed delicious, nicely seasoned but that was about it. The chunky chips on both mains were bland, there was no dressing on our salads (no salt / pepper on the table either) and my mixed squid and calamari (we opted against the ‘boil bags’ because of their price) were yawningly plain and fairly tasteless. The little paper tubs on each plate contained about a quarter of a tea spoon of dip each and our tap water, which we asked for when we sat down…came with our bill. Atmosphere? The colour / style is quite funky and being located in a railway arch boosts the fun. But despite twice asking the staff to turn the music down just a little - the table in the window has a speaker <1m from your head - they merely changed it to James Blunt…right. We are two white guys so maybe they thought we’d prefer that? Our cocktails were ok but nothing compared to the flavoursome varieties you can get elsewhere in Brixton or Tooting Markets. No dessert for us (we’d got bored trying to hear each other speak), so the restaurant missed out on more revenue.

Absoloutely appallled. I booked in the morning online for a table at 9pm for two for a meal and drinks. I wanted to celebrate my 68th birthday with my daughter. We arrived just before 9pm only to be told the kitchen was closed and no food was being served. Thank you Turtle Bay for ruining my birthday. Will not go back there ever and I am certainly not recommending this venue to anyone. Why couldn't they have contacted me much earlier in the day and let me know the kitchen was closed. Turtle Bay this is an absoloute a disgrace!

Took my mum to Fishbowl on Mother’s Day weekend. We were warmly greeted and served by a mature waitress. We ordered seafood boil x2, sweet potato fries, calamari & squid. We were given plastic aprons and gloves to wear so we didn’t ruin our clothes. There was a bit of a wait for our food due to minor power cut in the kitchen, which we were informed about. When the food arrived it was absolutely delicious! The seafood boil had a generous amount of prawns with a very tasty sauce. The fries were cooked perfectly and the calamari & squid were served with a secret sauce. Tables are a little small and would recommend getting a booth. It’s fairly small restaurant so I would aim to go in the afternoon or early evening if you are not keen on crowds. We will definitely be returning to Fishbowl Brixton in the near future!

Authentic sea food nice an hot the snow crab boil with prawns ext was exceptional.

I really enjoyed eating here, I got the crab boil bag (I'm not sure what it's called but it comes with the half lobster) with extra king prawns and sweet potatoes. this made the plate that was meant for 1 big enough for 2. The location was amazing and the service was brilliant. the lady was very helpful and kind. I did wish they had scissors to help with eating, they said the scissors kept breaking but surely with the steep price point they could afford it. Make sure when making a reservation to book in the booths, the tables for two are very small.

Had a grumpy unbothered lady greet us at the door put sanitizer on our hands without asking if anyone is allergic to it sat us down on our table and carried on walking around with an attitude don’t know how she even got a job. The guy was helpful and friendly atleast. Service could improve a bit but none the less alright place. Flavoured seafood boil. The Cajun chips is a rip off hardly any seasoning!!

Staff are amazing! Friendly and attentive- especially Lily and Lucy ❤️. The seafood boil bag is delicious!!!! ...Like delicious! The meats are soft and juicy. Not over done or dry. Enough sauce to go seeking for more food! You get gloves and 'bibs' to ensure you enjoy the meal. The calamari coating is really, really good. The mussels are quite delectable. The portion size are great. Mo ey well spent. The drinks will have you on your ***! The Jamaican Dream and margarita were on point. You don't get ripped off at all. Will definitely be back!!

Unfortunately this is a nice place with friendly staff but if you’ve had seafood boil before, this restaurant will leave you disappointed. Overcooked lobster, very salty seafood, lacking in the rich flavour you usually get from a seafood boil. wrong potatoes used in the boil so the sauce was mushy. food isnt cheap either. I wouldn’t recommend this place i’m afraid

It was my Birthday. I came here with my Best friend, her husband & daughter last year for my best friends birthday.The welcome at the door and service was impeccable, and it was very near to closing.I had a lobster boil and sweet potato chips, a ginger beer and a lovely glass of wine. . It was delicious. I was shocked as I couldn't finish it and I Love Seafood but I hadn't eaten all day, as I was saving myself for this. The music was really good too. Honestly if I could give 10 stars I would!! Where do I start, you HAVE to get a seafood boil bag, they are incredible. The marinade/spices it is cooked in I know must be a family secret recipe the owners will never give out and i completely understand why! The quality and portions for the prices are bang on! The atmosphere, music, friendliness of the owners, they couldn't do more for us last night. From lending us a phone charger, to giving my friend a complimentary small bottle of fizz for her birthday, to just being really attentive restaurantiers. The location of the restaurant under the arches, the quaintness of it is just lovely. If you want to eat off the 'beaten track' in London to speak of, soemthing that isn't a mainstream chain where food, flavour and service matters then FishBowl is the place. We will be back!

First time diner. Food was ok. Seating was too close to other diners, just pure noisy conversation you had ro shout to be heard. Toilet was situated so that the sliding door was constantly open, you can see the toilet from your table.

I really wanted to be able to rave about this place as I've wanted to attend for a long time. Particularly as it's black owned and seafood, one of my favourites. Was taken here for my birthday by some friends. We ordered the lobster boil bag and the snow crab boil bag. We also ordered prawns and sweet potato fries as well as some cocktails and mocktails. The waiter was not very knowledgeable and couldn't give us details on portion sizes, which made it difficult to decide what extras to order. I was also disappointed that there wasn't a garlic butter option, only mild or spicy. I really like seafood but was underwhelmed by the offering here. The waiter provided a cracking tool but no picker. We had to request it and more serviettes. Interestingly, they have a compulsory service charge that isn't made clear before eating. The owner left the waiter to manage the challenge and didn't come to see what our concerns were. In all honesty, I probably wouldn't return here. Cocktails were nice although some ideas of sizes on the menu would be good, e.g. tall glass or small glass. Sweet potato fries were nice also. However, for me, the seafood offering was not tasty and quite disappointing.

We were really excited to go to this place as we haven't tried this type of food before Service was awful. The waitress didn't write down our order and managed to get most of the order wrong. We felt a bit like we were inconveniencing them if we asked them for anything We ordered the seafood boil bags. We ordered spicy and the sauce was tasteless We eat alot of seafood and the quality of food was quite poor. The food was good. Very kind sweet black caraibien woman. But the bigger lady with black hair was making smart jokes that I didn't like. We ordered 3 drinks, and she brought 2, so I kindly reminded her for the 3rd drink. She points at the big octopus on the sealing and says: he got plenty arms I only have 2.( very unnecessary )So I looked at her shocked and said; if you need help transporting drinks to the tables I can help but then I won't be paying for my food. So she walked away. I highly recommend that you invest in a tray that will help you transport more than 2 glasses at a time. Thank you

Absolutely, utterly delicious... lovely little place in the arches near Brixton station. Staff, atmosphere brilliant and the food the best we've eaten in a long, long time. As seafood lovers, especially crab and lobster, this was a real find cooked to perfection in a 'sauce' to die for..... We will be back!!

First time visiting the Fish Bowl. Unfortunately felt very rushed by first server to place our orders for food and drink. Service a little stand offish. I ordered the prawns and double cooked chips. Prawns over seasoned until they tasted too salty. A little overcooked too, which made them taste rubbery. My mother ordered calamari and chips, which was flavourless and quite basic for the price. You’re encouraged to use hand sanitiser when you arrive, which I thought was great. However, when I witnessed one server braiding the hair of another server in the restaurant I was a little confused. When we paid at the end I tapped my card at the machine, looked up to check whether the server was finalising everything but he picked up the card machine and walked off with no thank you in sight. I wasn’t even asked whether I wanted a receipt. Probably won’t be going back!

The Prawn bag is amazing and has better value for your money. Their drinks are also amazing.

Finally ordered some food from Fishbowl... and it was definably worth it. The seafood was nicely cooked and the sauce was just right, good flavour, complimented without overpowering the seafood. Good portion size too. I'd have it again.

Me and my partner went to try seafood boil for the first time at fishbowl in Brixton and was totally surprised at the overall service and quality of food. There was 2 for 1 cocktail (highly recommend the Jamaican dream) and then the lobster platter of the seafood boil to share! Honestly it satisfied all cravings and exceeded out exceptions. We went for the hot flavour which was just the right amount of spice! We will deffo be going back to taste the sensational flavours!

They didn’t have king crab, which we ordered. They called us and offered us 2 snow crab instead. We agreed. We assumed they meant 2x snow crab boil bags. As that would be the price of 1 king crab bag. Instead they just replaced the king crab with 2x half crabs. How does that come close to £99?

Had the luxury of eating here today. Chose the spicy option for our boil bag, perfect level of spice and delicious fresh food! Needless to say the food was amazing but what made it even more memorable for us was the service. I didn't catch her name but the lady looking after us was so welcoming and attentive (which is quite rare in alot of restaurants), please pass on our appreciation. My daughter had the small portion of king prawns and chips which was devoured in its entirety and also got to do a little doodle on the wall with a provided marker which she loved and before we even left she asked when we could come back. Definitely family friendly and most definitely will return soon. Visited around 5pm 1st August 2023.

On menu it says fry prawns it was lightly pan and was pepper . Wen I called up she told me just make a conpain

I was so disappointed in the quality of the food here. The ambiance and staff are amazing but the food just didn’t do it for me at all. Don’t let looks deceive you because they sure fooled me! From photos and videos you would think this is the most delicious seafood boil you can get, but you’d be wrong. Firstly the corn tasted like it was almost at its expiry date, some of the shrimp shells were chewy rather than having that typical crunchy texture, the crab shell was slightly soft which made it difficult to crack. Secondly the sauce was really lacking a lot of flavour, which was definitely the most disappointing part because it looked so flavourful. It tasted extremely watered down and I ordered a spicy one, please ask me if there was any spice in there :| The only saving grace was the sweet potato fries which I will admit were perfectly cooked! The restaurant atmosphere was really nice, it was a really warming and friendly environment with great music (if you’re into afrobeats it’s definitely a good restaurant for you), but the food was definitely a let down.

Enjoyed an outstanding meal with entire immediate family on Saturday gone. Food was excellent and plentiful. The soundtrack was unobtrusive and lent to the whole experience. All staff were funny, proficient and attentive. The seafood bowl should be renamed seafood bath and even things they could get wrong i.e. fish ( sea bass) and chips ( twice fried and chonky!); were executed wonderfully well. All in all we will be back, apron and disposable gloves at the ready.
