This must have been my best experience in London. Such a wam and friendly welcome I haven't experienced in years and I have been many places in this world. Even the friendliness of two other customers who said I had a big appetite ha ha. It was my first time trying curry goat and I enjoyed it. Great flavor and tender meat. Would recommend going there and I will go back next time I am in London. Greetings from Norway

What a lovely place! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We celebrated my birthday by having lunch there and ordered red pea soup, fish with hard food, and callaloo. I truly enjoyed my meal; it was fresh, not overly seasoned, and definitely healthy! The soup was hearty, packed with generous pieces of meat, a bit salty, but absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back when they stay open later, in January. The overall experience was delightful, and I’m looking forward to trying more dishes on my next visit!

The bun and cheese was rock hard, so I had to throw it away. I won't be purchasing it again; what a waste of money! The patties are okay, but why do Caribbean restaurants always fill the container with rice and just bones? We need more protein! Please stop being so stingy.

I was well received by the boss, I ate well, the Caribbean (Jamaican) food is interesting and delicious. I recommend. The service is quick and the portions are generous.

The patty at healthy eaters is the closest thing to a authentic Jamaican patty. So delicious. And the customer service is amazing 😍

NOT DINE IN As a tourist in London, we came here to dine in. Google lists this place as a dine in/take out establishment but there was no seating when we visited in Sept 2024. We had saltfish and beef patties which were good.

The Beef Jamaican Patty was sooo delicious, I can't wait to come back! The service was great too!

Only had a pattie this time but I could see the quality of the food & it all looked lovely. You can see straight into the busy kitchen & the service at this place was pleasantly good! No sour faces behind the counter, no rude comments from staff, quick & efficient as it should be. Place very busy & vibrant. Pattie was on point! Would definitely visit next time I am in the area.

Bought a salt beef soup and only got 3 pieces of beef 2 dumplings and 1 pieces of provision it’s like I paid £5 for water steupsss

Review for the patties as they were excellent in flavour, flake and essence. Yesterday I bought 2 beef patties, I was impressed to find that these didn’t just taste of basic dough flour and no meat. The flake was perfect, the size of patties was decent and the meat was pack with a punch of spice and flavour it was so tasty. The patties were also warm and ready to go without having to reheat them. Patty display was packed which sort at first made me hesitate to buy, thinking maybe they weren’t that good but up to Jamaican standards it was very up there. Definitely would buy from here again, I highly recommend

Ordered 6 patties. 3 beef, 2 lamb and 1 chicken patties. Got home to eat and realised they charged me for 7 patties, and i only received 5, and no chicken. 2 people served me even tho I said I want to deal with one person. The guy rang up my bill and obviously charged me for 1 extra. And 1 that I didn't even get. I wonder how many times in the day they do this to customers. . On top of that, the patties barely had any filling. Very disappointing

Best owner out there, best place to go highly recommend, the prawns and rum punch are sensational.

The patties used to be decent. I had a lamb patty the other day and the pastry was super stiff. If the quality improves, I’ll return. Currently, there are no eateries in Brixton, that sell good patties.

Oxtail was absolutely delicious

Nearly 2 weeks ago, I bought a pattie from this chain of restaurants. (Assume it's a chain as my receipt had a diff name then the resturant name and some of the pics posted are not the same shop, I digress) Cyaan be jamaican pattie dat! None of the staff were Carribean, so I was skeptical and proved right with the chewy pastry & plain tasting pattie. My first pattie from electric avenue was nasty. Never tasted a pattie so bad, a frozen pattie from supermarket would be better, unacceptable.

Paid for 4 patties and they only gave me 3. You can't even call the company as they have a full mailbox, what a joke!

I’ve been going here for years and usually get their beef patty. I have to say, the beef patty’s aren’t as nice as they use to be, in my opinion, which is such a shame.

What a rude owner! He needs a few lessons in customer care. The young lady offered to serve me but she was touching her hair and skin so I asked her to was her hands which she did. The man asked her what she was doing before, she replied nothing then he began to curse me out..disgusting. Young Asian looking miss you know how to treat customers!

I've been buying food from this restaurant for years. It's my number 1 carribbean restaurant in Brixton when I want carribbean food. They have always been consistent with the food when I've brought from there.

Myself sister and niece attend this Bar/Restaurant. I had curried goat calaoo and Red Stripe. My sister had her Jerk Chicken Rice Peas ,Macoroni Cheese and homemade lemonade and my Niece had Fish, Rice Peas and Carrot Juice. Absolutely fantastic. Service wonderful. Staff very accommodating.

I went in to eat some oxtail and rice and peas and as I am of Jamaican parentage I expected the oxtail to be cooked down but it was as hard as a rock and when I asked the woman that the meat was tough she basically ignored me. To tell you the truth at £7.00 which is the equivalent to $14 dollars US I expected better. Nevertheless, my review is not about the restaurant but my plate, I was disappointed about it, I also told the food assistant I was going to review the restaurant as she failed to remedy the problem. I may not bother next time because oxtail is a delicacy for Jamaicans and if it not cooked down correctly it’s a BIG DEAL. I hope they give better customer service in the future. Cook the food downnnnn

Come here a couple times a month. I always order their patties, bun, and Hardough bread. All very fresh. I've never eaten their dinners but have heard great reviews. I would recommend.

Amazing, authentic Jamaican food! So scrumptious, we tried jerk chicken, oxtail stew and a wonderful dumpling with ackee. Will return for sure🇯🇲

The food is delicious and i'm fussy. I went there yesterday but was really disappointed. There were 2 African girls one taking the money and the other at the other end of the shop serving the food. They were too busy talking to each other to acknowledge me. I ordered a patty from another girl and left the money on the counter. It's a good job I'm honest. I could have taken it without paying or would have waited in vain to be acknowledged

Love this place, the food on point and seasoned to perfection! Used to come here every Saturday when my kids were younger after swimming lessons, now a lot older we took a trip down memory lane! And Healthy Eaters did NOT disappoint! Thank you as always for a lovely lunch!!!

Unfortunately had dry ban and cheese ,bought it today ,but clearly its been there for a while ,meat was good ,but rice was also old,didn't enjoy it and was still hungry after spending £27

Authentic, Jamaican meals away from home. 1st Class.

I USED to LOVE this place. Food always was delicious, tasting like it was cooked with care with the finest ingredients. It was very flavourful, not really oily (like some West Indian restaurants) or boney pieces with no meat and cooked down for a long time so the meat fell off the bone. I moved away from London 3 years ago, but went there on the 23rd December 2023 to treat myself to 2 small meals to take away: a curry goat & rice & peas & an oxtail & rice & peas (prices have gone up, so this cost me £20 - as the small meals were £10 each). I received 2 curry goat meals. One of them was half white rice & half rice & peas, as if they wanted to finish what they had. There was a large hard bit of rice, like the bottom of the pot. The meat was full of fat, any bits that were there were so TOUGH it was impossible to eat. I decided to just eat some rice & gravy - then I found a HAIR in it, so I threw it away. I hate to waste money or food, so tried the other meal (thinking I had an oxtail - but that's when I discovered I'd been given 2 curry goats). It was the same thing - and 2 HAIRS in the food! 🤮 Hygiene and cooking has seriously gone downhill. Alarm bells should have been ringing when I went in, there was no queue for the hot food - but a large queue where the patties are. I usually love their patties - but this experience has put me off - as I would literally throw up if I was eating a pattie and found hairs. Because they were in my meal, I saw them, so they didn't go in my mouth - thank goodness. I will never go there again and I had been a loyal customer for years. My advice would be to save your money and go elsewhere. Gross.

What a fantastic straight up Caribbean food place! A very wide variety of dishes, all well cooked, fresh and a well run, busy place. I had 3pieces of Jerk chicken, Rice and Peas, Jerk Sauce, callalou, plantain a fried dumping and a can of Ting. It was all very well seasoned, warming flavoursome and really made me happy!

Consistently great patties to takeaway as always. Especially like the salt fish patty :)

Ordered a large amount of patties for a work event, 1 week in advance and was told on multiple occasions they'd be able to follow through with the order. Literally 1 hour before the event starts they tell us they can't supply the patties, not even giving us enough time to find an alternative it's absolutely ridiculous!!

I was visiting the Brixton area for the first time and am Jamaican-American so I was on the hunt for good jamaican food. I found Healthy Eaters in the Brixton Market and it was amazing! Very sweet employees and owner, the seated restaurant area is super cute with great music. 10/10 would recommend!

Visiting London. I must admit the Oxtail and rice I had was very nice, I just don't think it was value for money. I ordered an oxtail meal. I had alot of rice and 4 small peices of Oxtail for £10. The container was small and I was disappointed that the meal did not come with even a bit of veg. Not really a meal..but it did taste nice.

Oh my god, it was one of the most delicious meals I had in the last weeks! They gave us various things to try out, everything was perfect, Curry goat, perk chicken, lamb. The staff is very friendly and accommodating as well.

The food is always good, though the curry goat is sometimes hit and miss. The jerk chicken is spot on. The soups are spot on. Prices have increased dramatically over the last few months. I know we're in a cost of living crisis right now and business is business, but its really expensive for a large meal. And to cap it all - in a world where contact less payment reigns, they've only taken cash for the last 3 months. Super annoying. I only had cards on my last two visits, and didn't bother to go back. Get it fixed guys! If this is how you're moving forward, update your website please.

What can I say, this was some amazing Jamaican food. The ackee and salt fish and the fried plantains were my favorites. The service was fast and the food was so well seasoned. I was only in town for 4 days but I had to go back a second time to get my fix.

oxtail was satisfying, beef patty had quite a nice thyme flavour and the staff were all very nice. lady serving me put loads of gravy all over my rice without me even asking and it’s those little things that i really appreciate 🙏

Listen…. Do your self a favour and meet the wonderful owner and his family. This place it’s 100% vibes great food great staff everything. Don’t get me started on the jerk chicken and peas and rice 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 absolutely delicious. All the way from Australia I’m delaying my flight home so I can get one more meal.

Great authentic Jamaican food and drink with excellent service

I had small meal box for £10, red bean rice with one choice of meat (jerk chicken), add extra fee for salad. The food is so yummy, sauce and portion are all perfect, just right amount of rice to meat. I’d love to re-visit next time. Only thing lacking a bit is service, I was standing there without anyone serving for a good few minutes.

Nice little spot to eat! Can get really busy but it’s worth the wait! Always good to eat in, not very big but it’s clean!! It’s cool how you can see what’s cooking in the kitchen. Nice place! Check it out!! Good customer service too!!

Jerk chicken - BANGING. Sadly the mad and cheese is pasta topped with shredded cheese and a LOT of it at that- almost too much. And the rice and peas was honestly the most tasteless rice and peas I’ve had - no coconut flavour and no spice, shame

Was told they closed at 5pm on the phone. Got there and was told the dining hall was round back, went round the back to be told it was closed!!! Traveled all the way from Enfield for this..... Extremely poor -1

We saw as we passed a gentleman going from table to table, seemingly chatting to the patrons. We mental marked it , went and found what we originally went for and , indeed , returned. We were greeted at the door by the same gentleman, he introduced himself as Stafford, the second part of a GREAT team, his wife Rose being the 'real' BOSS, he pointed her out in their cookery side of the business. We were seated. I requested to know a bit about the business. We sampled four starters, added sides, had their 'in-house' rum punch (which was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS'. The total price for this experience was TREMENDOUS, soft music in the background..I could talk and talk about the ambience, chilled vibe....etc. All in all , just go and visit. Taste, hot, fresh ,fabulous food. Get some Brixton local knowledge.......JUST GOOOOO. Thank you Rose and Stafford

So I came to show my French hubby what London food is all about. I couldn't take him saying that British food is bad. So for our wedding anniversary, I brought him to London on an eating spree and I of course HAD to show him some authentically delicious Jamaican food. My my my. We took one oxtail meal for 2 because we'd had like 5 meals before but it was SO good that I wouldn't have minded having a second plate for myself 🤣😅 Yep it was THAT good. Rock down to Electric Avenue! and then take in some of the best food in London..and definitely London's best Jamaican food! Oxtail, jerk chicken, rice and peas, calaloo, plantain, homemade fruit punch, and homemade desserts (bread pudding, potato pudding, and carrot cake), etc. were all superb! The wonderful owners and friendly staff create a fantastic atmosphere. You must stop here in London and afterwards stop by the vendors at Brixton Market....

Went on Saturday lunch time. Lovely service. Few people around (it was a lobvely sunny day) but my goodness...the food was unreal. The jerk wings (better than anything ive had in Jamaica)...curried goat (proper goat (not mutton)) and the ppper prawns - they look like normal prawns but they're ridiculously spicey / tasty and perfectly cooked. I'm salivating writing this. I will be back.

Descent food but staff don't like to add more gravy, its like they are eating and paying for the food. Tension all around with beggers regularly wandering in the shop.

Authentic Jamaican. Best ox tail I ever had. If you are there you have to try lemon and ginger drink, if you want to boost your immune system this stuff is better than vaccine.

Ordered curry goat and rice, which was quite tasty. Generous portion sizes given. However, the rice felt a bit dry because there wasn't much sauce with the goat. I'm not sure why it's called Healthy Eaters though because the food is the same as you'd get at any Jamaican food place.

I’ve been to this restaurant in the past and felt irritated mainly because of the queue and the whole queuing system and the way how it just feels so disorganised. I visited today and felt the same way. The crowded shop floor is just nauseating. I feel claustrophobic when inside this place. All I want to do is hurry up and get out and it’s a real shame because what I ordered (a patty) hasn’t been too bad. Their patties are okay. I would say patty wise they’re my second favourite place to buy from. I’ve also purchased bun and cheese in the past and had to throw away as it was dry and tough, basically inedible. I would like to buy a meal from them one day to proper explore their menu but the whole crowd thing I really can’t take it. I walk in this place and feel like I’m in a shoobs. Ridiculous really, I wish the management would this sort disorganisation out. I come in with my children and it’s a total nightmare. After looking at pictures of the food from other reviewers I have decided that I will give this place another try because their food looks nice and really fresh. I will give it another shot but I’m hoping by the time I do so that some kind of organised queuing system will be in place.
