This was by far the best curry I’ve had in ages, the prawns were lovely and fresh and tasted to perfection and the naan was freshly made the day before. I would recommend highly.

Ordered food here for the first time and will never order again. Ordered through Just Eat and there were items missing. I called the restaurant and he kept putting the phone down on me and said I needed to contact Just Eat. But it wasn’t Just Eat that omitted the items from my order. I never received my missing items. Also starters do not include salad or mint sauce. This is the first Indian takeaway I’ve ordered that doesn’t include salad and mint sauce with starters

We have been going to this restaurant for years both take away and eating in. We were in Friday with our good friends and the food was wonderful, the service was good and the atmosphere is what you make it, we always have a laugh and the Guy's join in... To top it all a few Cobra's to was it down... A good night was had by all...

The meal was absolutely phenomenal as well as the service. We had a party of 10 people and every single person enjoyed their meal. The servers were extremely attentive, you didn’t even have to ask for a refill before it was brought. Could not recommend this place more.

Average, food was OK but certainly not the best

Ordered for the first and last time. Don't want to waste the food but the butter chicken is so awful, had to throw it away.

Went here for a curry and this place was totally empty and on entering it's seemed too much effort to accommodate one paying customer; there is more atmosphere on the moon than this place. Food was perfectly fine, but the Vindaloo wasn't that hot. All that is needed, is, a more welcoming and enthusiastic attitude from this place.

Just want to let everyone be aware that this restaurant is horrifying and has horrendous customer services. I placed an order for delivery at 18.30 to be delivered between 20.00-20.30 order was accepted and even got notification to say it’s been prepared at 19.30. At 19.57 the order was cancelled by the restaurant as they no longer wanted to deliver. Leaving me without my dinner last minute when all planned. I rang the store to ask for justification for this to only be told they didn’t want to deliver it. Hung up on me and refusing to let me speak to anyone about it. Terrible customer service. So I wouldn’t bother ordering from them as you will get let down save your money and go elsewhere.

We ordered a couple of beers and then asked for some popadums when they came. The waiter insisted on taking the entire order, so we ordered 4 starters/sides between 2 of us. The waiter said we needed to order at least 1 main dish per person. We didn't want that much food, so he refused to serve us, told us to pay for our beers and leave. He refused to take a card payment for less than £15 and took away the unused cutlery and napkins. Weird experience. We won't be back.

I order a food on uber from them they just cancelled my order when I asked them the guy said me minimum order is £15 but their uber menu doesn’t says minimum order is £15 I asked them they replied talk with uber. Its your responsibility to solve the issue with uber not as a customer we should tell uber to make changes in your uber account

No friendly welcome from the waiter as we went in. Or throughout the evening. Mango chutney was awful. Just like runny watery jam. Kormas tasted very very sweet. Tasted like sugar. Not a good experience. Never again.

Have been using this restaurant for sometime and found it excellent but on this occasion we had a significant birthday to celebrate and 9 people at home for a party so ordered take away ,9 different dishes with various sides bhajis, breads and rice. It was delivered within the time stated, no mistakes on the order and all everyone said it was one of the best Indian meals they had ever had.

ordered the meal on their web site, after an hour pasted the delivery slot call them and told we have closed the restaurant and just hung up !! so no food and £78 out of pocked, reporting as fraud to the card issuer and have no idea how we get our money back

Had a meal with the family. 6 of us arrived at 19:30. The place was freezing cold (which I can understand during the current climate). Ordered starters and mains at the same time and it took over an hour and 40mins for it to come out. The place wasn't busy as there were 6 others in there and 2 had already had their food. The starters were okay but when the mains arrived it was luke warm at best. One of the dishes was heavily salted and inedible. They seem to prioritise telephone/app orders rather than people who physically make the effort to come to the restaurant. I won't be going again

Will never recommend to anyone. I visited the restaurant with my family and was stoked by the behavior of this guy at the resturant. Quite nosy and bad attitude. Absolutely unfit to be in the hospitality business.

Just had a delivery and the food was lovely, delivery a little later than expected but it is a Sat eve so not too bothered by that, had special mixed Masala, it was fantastic, full of flavour, other half had a madras and said it was nice, will definitely be ordering again

The restaurant is neat and clean .If you are looking for kerala dishes, I prefer Dev kerala than this .

Good service and the food was awesome

Been before the food was alright however, call up about 20 mins ago and the customer service was absolutely shocking. The guy on the other side of the phone extremely rude, not helpful at all and had really bad attitude. Don't bother going there in till they change their staff.

Great food, always love eating there and never busy

I was a regular local customer and enjoyed the food until the beginning of March 2022. The problem lies solely on the waiter at the restaurant. One day I came in at 5pm as the first customer in the restaurant and I expressed a preference for a particular seat. The rude waiter told (not asked) me to sit in a specific seat he chose for ‘his’ convenience. I told him politely that I didn’t want to sit there because it was by the door and didn’t want to catch a cold from the draught. He then told me to “leave”. Shocked I asked why. He said because there was a booking at 7pm. Given that I arrived just after 5pm I obviously didn’t intend to stay for 2 hours! He didn’t listen and ignored me and went back his seat and played on his phone. Angry and frustrated I tried to contact the manager of the restaurant but without luck since it was always him that picked up the phone. He was effectively preventing me from contacting the manager. This particular waiter has been very rude in the past (eg not acknowledging requests and never expressing gratitude after we had paid) but I wanted to turn a blind eye because I was with my wife. To the manager, if you read this. Please replace him. For one, I won’t be coming back and I’m sure other customers won’t appreciate his dire attitude and rudeness which will definitely drive business away without your knowledge.

Visited this restaurant the other day for a sit in meal. There was only our table plus one other, but Im afraid they seemd to struggle to cope. Service was very friendly but very slow. We had our main meal after an hour and a half and we got the impression that they were struggling in the kitchen. In the end, the meals arrived but they were incredibly bland. I visit a lot of curry houses with friends and thought Id try this one because it had decent reviews. Im guessing that the takeaways are treated as a priority because our meals were very very disappointing. Just bland, very little spice and generally lacking much flavour. I couldnt recommend the restaurant as a whole because the atmosphere was also very dull. Disappointing but thats the way it was for us.

I was recommended by a work colleague so I thought I give you ago . My order was over £50 delivery King prawns cost me £15 for 5 shocking I also ordered lamb tikka madras I had 5 pieces lamb,wife rang up to complain to be told there were 7 pieces shocking and laughable. I also ordered rice ,nan, onion baji,mix grill as a starter and another main .it wasn't the best, It's first and last time I be using you . I wouldn't recommend you to anyone .your staff is rude and your food is to poor standard.i could do better myself.

First time we have ordered from this restaurant and it is the best Indian takeaway we have ever had! All nice and hot and very tasty. Will definitely be returning.

Opted for collection of the order and on entering the takeaway was greeted with "Name?". Let them know I was here to collect - taking advantage of the 10% off - and they handed me the food without any more words. Took the food home and was disappointed, my partner and I ordered Samosas, vegetable and meat, cut them open and couldn't tell the difference, my chicken roll was dry, and probably heated from frozen. The sylhet (lamb) was interesting, couldn't even work out if there was meat in it, and the vegetable Rogan Josh was mostly packed with frozen veg and onions. Wouldn't go back, wouldn't recommend and would advise to stay away at all costs.

He comido en este restaurante antes y realmente disfruté el curry. En esta ocasión opté por una comida para llevar. Estaba tan decepcionado. Los curry eran realmente insípidos y aguados. Los entrantes estaban bien. La salsa de menta estaba nuevamente muy aguada. Tardaron casi 2 horas en llegar. El restaurante nos dio una botella gratis de "vino lambrini" que describieron como lujo. No volveremos a pedir a Tumeric.

The guy who served us was very rude. Made me feel pretty uncomfortable, food was ok but I'm sure all the starters are from frozen. Wouldn't go back.

Disappointed with customer service. Waiter was rude and tried to tell us we had to order mains, when all we wanted was a few side dishes to nibble on. He then proceeded to tell us it was because of the eat out to help out scheme, saying it was a rule that each customer had to buy one main each. This is absolutely not true but him saying this put pressure on us to buy more food and spend more money. We therefore had lots of food left over and when we asked to take it home, he tried to charge us 50p per dish!!! No atmosphere or vibe here, not even a thank you and goodbye when we left. Really disappointed. The food was OK, quite on the oily side so we won't be returning.

Ordered a takeaway on Friday and the nan bread had blue tissue cooked into it. Staff were friendly and picked up the order and gave a refund but can’t see myself going there again.

Nunca me gusta decir esto, pero es uno de los peores curries que he comido. ¡Era aguada, sin sabor y siendo un vindaloo sin especias! Compramos una comida para llevar que tardó casi 90 minutos en entregarse y la comida se veía exactamente igual. No sé si las personas que habían seleccionado opciones vegetales creían que era tan malo. Los popadoms eran suaves y empapados. Podría continuar, definitivamente no los volveré a usar.

We order takeaway from here quite regularly. The curries are excellent (some of the best I've had!) and always arrive nice and hot. The naan breads aren't good though unfortunately.

Fantastic curry! Real Naga and Fatali chilli used, amazing balance of flavour, fresh and good price. Service is excellent too! Best one in eastville/fishponds for sure!

what a great place for a fab curry ,and they have cobra on draft wow ,perfect match .ask for extra garlic (simply lovely)the staff are great and friendly ,a must stop off when in fishponds or make a trip ,well worth the effort

First impressions was the carpet was dirty. We stood to be seated for 10 minutes despite there being seats. When we sat down it took at least 15 minutes before they approached us for a drink. The staff seemed disinterested and rude. Food was average and the breads were good. But didn't understand the squirty cream on the chicken tikka masala? Ok But will not be going back.

Unos pocos amigos pidieron una comida para llevar, normalmente vamos a The Urben Tandoor, que lleva las noches de curry a un nuevo nivel, me recordaron lo malo que podía ser al ordenar de Tumeric en Fishponds.Todos los platos tenían el mismo sabor, demasiado aceitosos, pedían guisantes y paneer, los trozos de paneer eran tan pequeños que no valía la pena molestarse, más pequeños que los guisantes, todas las verduras estaban congeladas, nada fresco, ningún corriander, etc. La comida es mala, fue perezosa, no volveré a ordenar.

Fuimos aquí un sábado con 6 amigos a las 8. 30 hs. Cuando llegamos allí, estaba muy ocupado pero nos acomodaron rápidamente y sirvieron bebidas y poppadoms rápidamente. La decoración y los asientos son un poco anticuados, pero estaba limpio y ordenado. La comida y las bebidas eran bastante baratas y la comida era muy sabrosa. Unos cuantos pubs para tomar una copa de antemano. En general, una buena experiencia y volvería otra vez.

Good food, gets busy at peak times

I decided to Order a curry for delivery this evening, it arrived wrong, really disappointed. Id recommend the tamarind for good service and quality! The Tamarind in downend is 5* first class 👌

La primera vez que estuvimos aquí el fin de semana pasado. El menú tenía un montón de opciones y tenía un precio razonable. El personal era amable y acogedor. La sidra era de Somerset (!) La comida era deliciosa cuando llegó: buenas raciones, platos sabrosos. Definitivamente regresaríamos.

The most traumatic experience in a matter of half an hour, should be "negative stars" for such experiences. Ad some take away food, called back when started eating, ad a garlic Nan with the food and I was amazed that the bread was actually good but hardly any garlic or coriander, the person attending the call repeatedly said there was a layer of garlic with coriander on top and hang out on my face, as living near by went back to the restaurant, said the atitude was seriously bad and inaceptable and I tould the guy [owner or not but definatly incharged, the one on the phone], that over a bread they've lost a client he said didn't need me as client and ordered me to leave his restaurant in threatening manner "leave my restaurant now or you'll be considered trespassing" inviting me to resolve the matter outside with that killer look as a security in a pub addressing the word to a disrespectful person, absolute desgraceful behavior.

Cosy, busy place, full bar, but most importantly though, pretty good food at a good price (2x rice, 2x curry, 1x side, 1x naan, poppadoms, 1x beer, 1x coke £36 ish).

This is the most disgusting restaurant I have ever had the displeasure of eating in. Our waiter started clearing away our food before we had finished saying that they closed at 11pm (it wasn’t yet 11pm). Then after a second rude episode we told him, In a reasonable way, that we felt he was being rude. That’s when all hell broke loose. He became aggressive, confrontational and physically intimidating. The level of aggression shown towards me and my friend was utterly abusive and disgusting. When I tried to film an audio of the situation (because I honestly couldn’t believe what I was witnessing) the waiter then snatched the phone out of my hand and became even more verbally abusive. When I asked to speak to the manager a voice from a man standing in the corner said “I am” then stood back and did absolutely nothing. Do not eat here! Unless verbal abuse, intimidation and confrontation is what you enjoy with an evening meal. I cannot say it any clearer. Do not eat here!

This is our forth curry we had here since we moved and turmeric is the best curry house by far we have had friendy staff and brlliant service all around best house in bristol.

Excellent food and service. The crew is super friendly. The chefs make the best Indian food around. I used to live close but now will travel 30 mins and pass up numerous Indian joints to get takeaways from Tumeric.

We go to the termeric almost every weekend We have never been able to fault the quality of food or the service We regard this restaurant as our favourite for Indian cuisine and am looking forward to next weekend again

Mi amigo y yo visitamos Turmeric fin de semana pasado por primera vez en años, nunca el restaurante más destacado, pero siempre una comida decente con un personal amable. Lamentablemente, esta vez uno de los platos solo estaba caliente y en otro se encontró un cabello oscuro. Cuando me quejé, al principio se disculparon, pero dijeron que debía ser mi cabello (soy tan poco probable que esté gris). Cuando mencioné que ninguno de los miembros del personal de su cocina llevaba tapado para el cabello, en realidad se mostraban bastante hostiles y sentí que se estaban burlando de mí.Pagamos ya que me sentí bastante intimidado, pero la próxima vez iré a uno de los muchos otros restaurantes indios.

My friend and I visited Turmeric weekend gone for the first time in years, never the most outstanding restaurant but always a decent meal with friendly staff. Unfortunately this time one of the dishes was only warm and a dark hair was found in another. When I complained they were apologetic at first but said it must be my hair (I'm grey so unlikely). When I mentioned none of their kitchen staff were wearing hair covering they actually got quite unfriendly and I felt like they were mocking me. We did pay as I actually felt quite intimidated but will certainly be going to one of the many other Indian restaurants next time.

Had a good meal last night, unfortunately my wife forgot some Christmas and Birthday cards and left them on the table. They started clearing as we left so none of the customers (only 2 other tables a distance away) would have accessed the table. My wife returned there this evening and the Birthday card was opened, the £40 inside had gone missing. The staff denied any knowledge and were very unhelpful. I then joined her to make sure she (and myself) remained calm, only to be told to leave as we were trespassing. When we refused until the matter was sorted they called the Police and informed us we would be arrested for trespassing. Absolutely shocking. They refused to accept that the member of staff would have taken the money (although they couldn't get hold of him) and were extremely rude and condescending to my wife (calling her 'love') which I had to stand and watch, having to remain calm so as not to give them any ammunition for the Police. Absolutely disgusted - the member of staff was immediately at the table so no-one else could have taken the money. Plenty of Indian Restaurants about who would have called and said you'd left stuff on the table. Don't leave anything behind!

Ordered a curry for delivery and they sent the wrong curry, called and they said can send another but could be anytime from 6 til closing! I said that’s not acceptable and the said It’s not there fault they couldn’t understand me. After 30 minutes on the phone they agreed a refund and said they need the curry in return so I didn’t eat and they never turnt up with the money! Shocking service

At last! An Indian restaurant that served authentic food. I had a delicious keema matar and kana masala. Both were delicious.

We had THE best food here! The staff were polite and the right amount of attentive. The food was the highlight by far though. I’d go as far as to say it was outstanding!!

A very small, intimate restaurant. We ordered the Naga curry- Bristol's hottest curry. It was probably one the UK's hottest curries as my mouth and intestines were on fire. Yes, literally. I could only savour (painfully) a few mouthfuls. The curry had great depth and spice but I just couldn't handle it. The popodoms were awesome, along with the various filling chutneys. The rice was soft and fluffy and the garlic & chilli naan bread was really tasty. Staff- he gave us a detailed explanation of the types of curries and their origins but I found him a bit too intrusive, he kept coming over and asking for our number. I felt slightly uncomfortable. I probably wouldn't return based on the behaviour of the waiter.. but the curry was awesome. I just wished I had the coping skills for such a extremely hot curry.

Un restaurante muy pequeño e íntimo. Pedimos el curry Naga, el curry más caliente de Bristol. Probablemente fue uno de los curris más populares del Reino Unido, ya que mi boca e intestinos estaban en llamas. Sí, literalmente Solo podía saborear (dolorosamente) algunos bocados. El curry tenía gran profundidad y sabor, pero no podía soportarlo. Los popodoms fueron increíbles, junto con los diversos chutneys de relleno. El arroz era suave y esponjoso y el pan de ajo y chile naan era realmente delicioso.

Amo este lugar; es local y la comida suele ser genial. Cenamos allí el viernes y uno de los camareros no lo hizo bien con un par de problemas: en primer lugar, no había hielo en el gin-tonic de mi compañero. ¡Ella pidió hielo y en lugar de obtener el hielo de inmediato se excusó diciendo que ya había puesto hielo y debió derretirse!

Average Indian food. The chicken was tough and there wasn't much heat in the curry I ordered (medium), although it was quite tasty. I tried my girlfriend's vindaloo, which also wasn't as hot as expected.

My husband and I came here for dinner on Friday evening and we were very impressed with the whole evening. We managed to get a table straight away and the staff were incredibly polite and professional throughout- they even held the door open for us as we left. Our food was delicious, it was nice and hot when it came to the table and the portion sizes were really generous. I am looking forward to coming back again soon!

I have been coming to the Tumeric since it opened.

Decided on a curry for our fortnightly get together for tea with my sons. We were able to get a table straight away and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was very tasty and there was a good selection of dishes to pick from. We will definitely be visiting again

As a couple with a young daughter we rarely have chance to have an evening out together. So it was great to return to Turmeric as it's probably been nearly two years since we were there.

We ordered and were given a time of 6.30pm the food actually arrived at something like 6pm possibly earlier. None of it was particularly warm. But it wasn't cold. Portions were sufficient there was none left and possibly have done with a little more. The food was tasty though.

Home delivery . Was a bit late ; but that’s ok. Food medium warm ; though onion Bajji and nan bread only barely . Main dishes have both a nice level of oil ... . Chicken sent through a grater presumably as a cost cutting exercise . Won’t use again .

Ordered a takeaway but I have also visited the restaurant for a meal. The takeaway was late but only by 15 mins. I ordered the chicken chat masala (medium dish) it could do with a bit more heat. The order was also not very warm and a bit oily which spoilt it. I was slightly disappointed. I was also surprised at the amount of chicken in the dish (it was a bit lacking).
