Both times I've ordered from here there have been missing items. Poerions are small for the money. Absolute rip off!

The best Authentic North Indian dishes in Bristol. Must visit

We had a delicious takeaway from here, in particular the Tawa Ki Paneer and Khate Baingan. What’s more, they delivered to us out at Hanham Mills and the food was still piping hot when it arrived - magic!

The food here is so nice. Service is ok and friendly and the atmosphere is great aswell. I recommend coming here.

Amazing, fresh food with great flavours

We usually have had brilliant currys from the msala library but as with another recent reviewer. Just 3 prawns when paying £14 is not on. The price is high already it then shouldn't be sactioned by the quantity. We also found the rest of our dishes very saucy with limited meat. Delicious flavours as always. Maybe write on the menu 3 prawns.

Got a takeaway, my £14 prawn curry had a grand total of THREE prawns in it, it was just a huge box of sauce. Really disappointing

Just had a aloo gosht and a keema naan here. The service is very very friendly and genuine, the food has plenty of flavour, and the music is a nice volume. My naan wasn't soggy (as can be the cas with meat filled naans) and the gosht was topped with a delicious roasted red chilli with tonnes of flavour.

I got to start by admitting that I have only had food from this place as takeaway (or delivery more like it.) However this place is the reason why I can no longer have a chicken korma from any other place, it just does not taste as great as from Msala Library (I feel a tad bit spoiled). Now I know it's abit boring to have a korma (but listen, I'm Danish and we don't eat spicy food ok) AND to reiterate I HAVE tried other things from their menu and they were equally as great, but korma is just my to go (back) to item on the menu, cold outside? Korma! Bad day? Korma! I will definitely try to visit the place (as it's like 10 min walk from me lol) and sit in. So to cut the review short, if you do find yourself in the proximity of this place I would highly recommend you try it out! :)

Splendid place, great waiter, lovely curries and breads fresh and delicious, all of them. Cannot find a fault! Will be back.

Waste my 30 min the man was keep saying 5min but longer never go again

Slight confusion when we arrived late because of the appalling First bus (No.48) service. But once we explained that we had left 2 voice messages to explain, all was good. Great food, service and good value for money.

High grade curry, high grade ambience!

We have eaten in here once and yesterday ordered a takeaway. Both times the food has been incredibly fresh and flavoursome with good quality ingredients and tender meat. Great portion sizes too. This is now our favourite Indian restaurant!

Bristol is terrible for curries, I’m used to Manchester curries and the ones down here are always way too sweet and gloopy. This is the best in Bristol by a country mile. Generous portions, richly flavoured, extremely tender lamb. I’ve ordered delivery here before and found the portions were on the small side - sitting in is the way to go.

6 of us rocked up for a friend's birthday with no reservations they cooked at least 15 different dishes all of which were delicious within 30 minutes at a great price. Will be going back soon..

Thank you to all the staff at the Msala Library. I booked a table for 13 people. They made it a really nice night, were very patient ("who ordered the biryani?") and the food was fantastic. If you're looking for authentic Indian, then look no further. One note of caution: this is not your regular curry house (which are usually Pakistani/Bangladeshi). This is an Indian restaurant, so the cuisine is more asking the lines of what you'd get in South Asia. If you're looking for chicken tikka masala, then maybe go somewhere else. Having said that, whether it's a mixed grill or a chicken sag, the food here is DELICIOUS.

Not often I do reviews, only if the food or service was really great or awful, sad to say it was awful... ok, so i had a delivero charge in my nearly £30 order, one meat free saag, veg rice, some pastry like somosa, which hard as a rock and the saltyist peshwari nan, meant to taste sweet, how they made it salty I do not know . the stingist bit of salad and a very small nan, although I didn't eat it, gross I am usually a person that tastes the food and then adds salt, no need, thinkhalf the salt mine was on my food. Disappointed on every level, small portion, too salty, most is now going in the bin and paid nearly £30 for a meal for one that was awful and cold .

Ordered delivery thinking we would try something different, spent £75 on the food. I would say save yourselves the money and get something from across the road, its cheaper, better quality and more flavourful, if you enjoy a bland tomato based curry then this is the spot for you

Brilliant food but service very good but very slow

The food was absolutely delicious. We shared many vegetarian dishes, despite me not being veggie and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Special shout out to the Dal Makhani. Best Indian takeaway I've had in Bristol I think.

Went with my mum, wife and daughter who is 6 months old. The food was epic and the service fantastic. Our daughter is currently weening, and the waitress was kind enough to get some long sliced cucumbers for her to get stuck into. The butter chicken was creamy, thick and full of succulent chicken pieces. The prawn curry was tangy, fragrant and nice and spicy and finally the lamb Biriyani!!… for me easily hands down the best in Bristol!! Price was more than fair, service was great ( I think family run) and the atmosphere was super chill!! Will be going back again for sure!!

The best lamb chops we've ever eaten! Marinated, straight from the tandoor - completely amazing. Inviting restaurant, with welcoming, friendly staff. The food arrived swiftly and was delicious. Lots of interesting dishes and flavours. Definitely recommend.

The best authentic Indian I've had in a long time. Brilliant service, lovely atmosphere and delicious food reasonably priced. Excellent veggie and fish dishes as well as meat. A very unique menu! We'll be back soon.

What a lovely family run restaurant, great food. We went as a group on a Friday, busy but still efficient service, served accurately in good order. My mate had okra which is a tricky dish to do right but they had. The biryani was excellent, hyderabadi cutlets tasty and dahl makhni magnificent.

What the hell, I've checked their page and it said open at 2.30pm and yet I'm here at 3.50pm but I saw the sign was basically for deliveroo is closed but didn't say anything for customers. So I ask someone who were inside that I want order but they are not available doesn't make sense why would you open if it's food ready. Waste of my time to come there for nothing.

Came here last week for a birthday celebration and had a wonderful time, the service was brilliant and there was a wonderful selection of food that catered to everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, will definitely be visiting again and recommending to everyone!

Best Indian restaurant I’ve been to. Went on Wednesday night and the food was amazing. The staff were also so friendly and helpful and were so patient, they explained all the different food options and helped myself and my friend pick the best option for us. The service was very efficient too - quick and very professional. They were honestly great! I recommend!!!!!!!

We visited this restaurant last night for the first time with friends who have been here many times and I can see why. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, the food was perfectly cooked and very good value for money. Overall, an amazing experience. We're not local, but will definitely be back!

The food was tasty but the atmosphere was ruined by the restaurant being constantly full of delivery drivers waiting around with helmets on and black motorbike gear that made them look more like security guards. They also kept leaving the front door open and it was freezing. Service was also v slow, we were told they were short staffed but it seems they often say this. Annoying that they can't take card payments

Excellent food, unaltered taste

Food was good but service last night was woeful! Waited 45 mins and asked 5 times for our bill, had to threaten to leave without paying to actually be able to pay. Sat down at 5:40 for 2 courses, left at 8:25. Not a good experience.

Just wanted to go for a tasty, fair priced and fast dinner before home. The chairs and the menus were all peeling. Upon arrival it took a very long time before we were even asked what drinks we would like- and we were the only people in the restaurant!!!!!! I am vegetarian and there were no vegetarian side dishes, which usually I would buy a selection of. everything was overpriced especially given the poor presentation of the place and the terrible service. It seemed like in house customers were neglected in favour of the constant delivery drivers collecting orders. Once other customers finally did arrive they also encountered the same problem with ordering drinks etc. the food took ages to come, all in all - not a good experience and shan’t be returning.

Went here because my friend said its always been nice, the curry was terrible I had a chicken dansak which tasted exactly like a microwave curry from a supermarket the place itself was empty and soulless like the food! Never again I also tried my friends madras which was better but still dead! The poppadoms were ok that's it. Overall dreadful

The food was very nice but the service was incredibly slow (it took us a full 2 hours for 2 people to have a 2 course meal) no one even took our drinks order for about 20 minutes. It was also very cold inside and there wasnt any music playing so the vibe was a tiny bit odd. We were told by staff that service is not usually so slow but they were short staffed and only had new people working but the feedback I have had from other people is that Fridays and Saturdays its too busy with takeaways being prepared so going to eat in is always like that. We did see A LOT of deliveries being picked up. The staff were very pleasant though.

Decent place for indian cuisine. mildly disappointed with the Pindi Chole and Mixed veg gravy as the spices weren't cooked properly. Service is a tad slow as well. All in all, worth a visit but doubt I'd go back.

The curry is normally really good. Have only had one that wasn't so great. The worst thing is annoying that when you order online and go pick up/pay they make you use the cash machine attached to the building that charges you. Despite having card machines that they have on the side that I'm sure they use for eat in customers. This has happened a few times and they say their card machine isn't working, which feels like a lie.

Absolute gem the owner was she was so honest about the dishes I love Indian and this food was something else the meat was cooked just right the fusion of spices used was just perfect the sauce itself was so yummy I’m super impressed I’m definitely not going anywhere else this is my number no1 curry house thank you so much guys

Honest to all the gods this is the best food in east Bristol, never had a bad dish (order on Deliveroo regularly), I recommend to all my friends and they love it too. Well done Msala Library on properly great cooking and service.

Honestly the best curry I've ever had. I struggle to not get one once a week even when I can't really afford it!

God I love this place. A great rabbit starter, fantastic chefs specials and a host of ‘classics’. I recommend the Goan garlic rice, Dhal Tarka and the crisp, bubbly, pillowey burnt edged Naans Super tasty, great for delivery/collection and nice to eat in too - very friendly staff as well.

Food was superb at a good price

One word.. WOW!! now, I don't take curries lightly, but this was one of the best! So fresh, and so tasty. My partner and I sat outside on a warm summers evening, mid week, with ice cold beers and stunning food, all served with a super friendly smile! I won't only be recommending this restaurant to ALL my friends, but I'll be making sure to pay another visit soon!

Delicious freshly prepared curries. Friendly service and were very accomodating of our dietary requirements, being lactose intolerant. Cash only which takes the shine off a bit. They have a cash machine at the restaurant that charges £1.25. If they can get a cash machine installed surely they can get a card machine sorted.

Nice food but spoilt family occasion when we were told (at the end) they wouldn't accept card payment in spite of their website clearly stating they do...

I ordered a delivery from the vegan menu section. When it arrived a couple of the dishes did not look vegan, so I phoned the restaurant to check. They confirmed that the white sauce on the salad next to the onion bahji was dairy, it was on the bahji too, they just apologised, so I couldn't eat that. I asked again about the Papdi Aloo Chaat which had a thick white sauce around it, and they assured me it was vegan. I ate that and later began to feel ill. I googled the recipe and it has yogurt in it, so I phoned the restaurant again and this time they confirmed that if there was white sauce in it then it was yogurt. I've been vegan for 8 years. This made me ill for a couple of days. All they offered was to contact Deliveroo for a refund. I don't think I'll be going here again if this restaurant can't meet the dietary options that they themselves offer. There are some things that are excusable and forgivable, but this level of incompetence and disregard for peoples dietary needs is unacceptable when it can make someone ill for two days. A nice take away treat turned into two days of being ill.

This is our favourite Indian for eating in or take away. The food is always great and whilst the service can be quite slow it's worth the wait. Can't recommend highly enough.

Excellent food, ordered Butter Chicken, Tawa ki Paneer, malai tikka type dish. The naan breads were divine, garlic butter and chilli naans.
