Turknaz in Birmingham

I don't know why it shows as closed. I was there just yesterday. It was our second visit. The last time, about a year ago. The first visit was great. This time it was even better. Nice cosy small place. The food is just to die for. The explosion of flavours. Delicious moctails and coctails. Nice presentation. Lovely customer service. I will be visiting again. The only downside is the toilet.

We went there for anniversary dinner. We ordered the meal but we weren’t sure on drinks so needed time. Food came on the table, sharing platter for two served on a large COLD, THICK CERAMIC plate. Rice and bulgur were cold. We didn’t have drinks and food was cold. Despite four of them huddling by the bar no one came to check on us until I caught someone’s eye. I told her that the food was cold. She said ‘I don’t think so!’ I offered her to eat some then respond! After that we paid and left, cutting our anniversary dinner short.

Lovely little, cosy space. We were here during Halloween season, can't say enough about the food and the service. The appetisers with the bread, olives and dips - mouth watering, served whilst we decided on what to eat. Main meals were huge and so tasteful - and so reasonably priced. I especially enjoyed the side salad with the mains that included pomegranate seeds. The range of dips was nice and each one of them different to the other, and delicious! Above all, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The manager was having a banter with customers as he went around the restaurant hanging elaborate Halloween decorations. Great atmosphere! Highly recommended, will definitely return.

Left without eating. Restaurant was busy as we'd expected (8pm Saturday evening) but they have a lot of tables squashed into a small space. It was uncomfortable, loud, and the staff seem unable to cover that number of tables. Menu didn't match online version (content and price). When my friend asked if we could order drinks (a table seated after us already had drinks and bread) the waiter said they would be with us soon but then went to another table instead. We waited a while but in the end decided to cut our losses and find somewhere more welcoming.

I went for dinner with my husband for dinner, we were seated quick, but the service was not nice. The waitresses couldn’t take orders and if we communicated anything to the waitresses they would wait for the head waiter to process any orders through which caused us to wait. As I’m eating the waitresses were cleaning our plates as they were rushing to clean and close up. They were short staffed but they need more training. Food was decent but service let them down massively.

Keep forgetting to write a review, have eaten here quite a few times & we’ve always been presented with beautifully cooked food! We are very fussy so this is a real compliment! The Adana kebab yummy! I particularly like the chicken shish & if we take my mother she always has the lamb shank… just excellent! Thank you Turknaz always fresh, well cooked & presented food.

We went to celebrate a family event and the food was too salty, dry and hard. Would not recommend to anyone.

Lovely food - but nearly £9 for 4 chicken wings - ouch!! Not sure how they can justify that. Probably the most I’ve ever paid for wings 😩

We needed a take away for a business birthday lunch for 9 people and nothing was too much trouble for Ozan ! Everyone loved the food and there was plenty there including salad, bread and dips ! We all said we would order from there again

A delicious lamb casserole and chef's special chicken recommended by the waiter. Starter of vine leaves. Food was top quality. Fresh ingredients and prompt service. My wife and I really enjoyed our evening. Thank you.

First time here, very clean place with nice decor. Friendly greeting and very attentive staff, especially Ali who likes a joke or two. The food was amazing, we picked the platter for 2-3 and 2 drinks the total was £36 (20% discount offer for October). Overall a great experience and we will be back for more!

Our party of five paid a first time visit to the Turknaz at Sutton Coldfield last night, 11/8/2022, and it was a lovely experience. We turned up with an extra person to our booking but this was no problem to the staff as a little table shuffling soon sorted it. The restaurant is well set out and was nice and cool in the blistering heat of the night. The staff were brilliant throughout the night, attentive without being overbearing, friendly, polite and readily joined in the banter when asked if they would take some photos for us. They also showed great patience when explaining to us first timers what each dish was, and also while waiting for us to place our orders. All of us agreed the food was excellent, each dish being a delight, and as testimony there was very little left at the end. Thank you Turknaz chefs. All in all a great night was had by us all and we will certainly return.

First time I have been here but my brother had today we went to celebrate moms birthday 11 adults, 3 kids 1 teenager and a toddler. The children portions were extremely generous and the nuggets looked lovely. The bread dips and olives were a lovely addition, the sharing platters were huge and so so tasty something for everyone. The staff were so polite and lovely couldn’t do enough for us. Mom had a lovely time as did we all. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for an enjoyable experience xx

Another great meal at Turknaz. Staff really friendly. Went with hubby and friends who normally prefer to go out for a curry but they loved it. Only downside was the dessert they only had baklava. BUT this will not stop us going back.

Second trip this time we came with our daughter. We had the platter for 2-3 and some halloumi. It was delicious, service was attentive and we all enjoyed our meal. The Turkish delight at the end was the most delicious I had ever tasted, I wish we could have bought some to take home.

A group of 7 recently went for the first time based in a recommendation. We were not disappointed, we all enjoyed our meals and the portion sizes were perfect. Looking forward to returning again soon.

Sunday evening treat! Traditional bread was provided and starters were all large potions - it was delicious. We shared the Turknazz platter for our main and it was so tasty and freshly cooked to perfection. Waiter was polite and attentive. Definitely recommend!
