I visited Birmingham from Oslo, and this restaurant was so amazing. The food and the people were always smiling and gave happy vibes.

Heard good things, popped in to try their food, ended up getting a take out order. We were served some nice hot lentils (dhaal) type homemade soup whilst waiting as originally we were going to eat in but later decided to take the order home to eat instead as I was tired from work and knew I’d want to ko with a food coma afterwards! We ordered a large mixed platter for £40 to serve 4. Generous portion size and contained all their grill range on a bed of different styles of their rices, nicely presented and hot. Topped with fresh made soft and fluffy naans. Got their Ayran carton to take away but if I ate in next time I’d try their own shop mixed version out of their mixer machine to see what that one is like. The carton one was very nice and brand I like. Overall the food was. All really nice, Kurdish cuisine had a different taste to Turkish food so you can’t compare the two even though they look the same. Hot and hearty food for a cold winters night went down well, naans were a pleasant surprise and really soft and fluffy throughout, just needed some sauces I had at home to elevate it for my own personal preference and it really did put me to sleep! The staff were also really nice and polite, I appreciate the hospitality as they were being really kind to us all the time we were there, so thank you.

Been here before and it wasn't too bad. Today was another story Thought I'd try again and what a disappointment Everything was too too Salty Including the naan I mean extremely Salty The meat the rice the chicken was all too too salty I can never return

Your liquid was too cold and your food is expensive

I've had food from here so many times and it's always been good. Today.. it was soo salty my tongue felt like it wanted to jump out my mouth and run away. The bread, the meat and rice was sooo salty. The only thing without salt was the soup and salad. If they got a new chef they need to be sacked, not worth the money at all.

I went there on my son’s birthday and we both loved it, the food was amazing 🤩 the staff were very polite and the service was great 😊 I’ll definitely go back there again while I’m here in Birmingham. 🤗

I am in search for authentic lamb shawarma which tastes like the ones you get in middle Eastern countries. This was another one on my list for some time. I went for the lamb shawarma meal with naan. I got to say.. the taste was average of the lamb shawarma meat. It was a bit chewy and have no special shawarma spice blends marination. Even though you get slightly larger portion of meat compared to the next shawarma place close by, (Erbil). The prices here are ridiculously expensive for what they are. I mean one of their dishes, lamb shawarma with rice costs £12 🥺 The Ayran is freshly made on premises, you can get a nice traditional glass of auran for £1 There are plenty of seating available here. Toilets and washrooms are available. It's on the main Soho road, so parking is slightly opposite on the side road, free and paid both. The staff seemed average, not very friendly. Especially the person on the payment counter seemed not so happy about his job. Its okay to try it once in a lifetime but not something I would go again.

I don’t know if it’s under new management but I got a shawarma wrap and it was the oiliest thing I’ve ever eaten. Used to be decent but not so good anymore.

This place has gone downhill, shawarma was chewier than chewing gum , went there and ask for replacement the owner was very rude and rejected us and refuse to refund the money back. Never going back again

Noooo lamb or Daal/Nisic soup as starters. When I asked for soup. That Kurdish guy who look like Pakistani or Iranian said it’s not ready, why not ready. He said, we don’t have. Got 2 different answers in same time. Bro if soup is not ready, why you open restaurant for customers than. Keep shut until starter soup get ready.

The food is great, freshly cooked, and not spicy. You get quite large portions, so don't over order. Only thing I would suggest is the small side dishes are too large as a side dish and can't always finish them. Also I didn't ask for an additional side b dish, the waiter told me it was part of the meal, when I paid I was charged for it. Please check your bill when paying.

Best Hi to friendly restaurant Sarchanar Shwarma, the best ever food I ate it was last night in Sarchanar Soho Road Birmingham, I would say to everyone go only one try to taste it,

This is my go to place for shawarma. I usually get the chicken sandwich but the mixed is quite nice too. They let you choose what salad and sauces you want in the sandwich which is nice. One of the options is hummus, you rarely see that being offered in other shawarma places. However, the price of the meal is quite high. Its the same price as if you were to get the sandwich, chips and drink separately which defeats the purpose of a meal.

Best shawarma in Birmingham. Their food is really good. I've tried too many places to count and these come in my top 5. Maybe even my top 2. Comes highly recommend. This is a must try place if you are passing by. 10/10 for quality and service every time.

I've tried some of the grills, simply delicious! Many other appetizing looking dishes are still in my list to taste. The place, clean and tidy, has some folk decoration, I understand is of Kurdish culture as is the food. The lavatory is clean and well kept. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

I ordered 6 shawarma and they put 9 shawarma on the receipt, i said can i get some sauce, they were so greedy and gave me so little and charged me £3, even though i can buy a whole bottle for a pound. When i got home i read the receipt and was shocked af how greedy and selfish they are. Great job Sarchnar, great service.

To be completely honest, it’s the worst restaurant I’ve ever ordered food at, I ordered food for the 4 of us and none of us finished even halve of it, the food doesn’t taste good at all and the hygiene was awful straight away as we ate the food we got stomach aches and I will be reporting this restaurant to Birmingham City council, when we order bread they gave us only 2 which I’ve never seen happen especially when 4 people are sat on the table

The food was disgusting we ordered a lot of food three shawarma mix plates tasted disgusting and old,me and my family were disgusted our stomach were upset and the food was expensive I don’t care if it is expensive but at least taste good we were sick all night I couldn’t even bear standing up that is how bad my stomach ache was. People I recommend that even if you are starving to death do not buy their food!!!!! I repeat . Please report them to nhs so they can make them close down their shop because of their hygiene and food. Im trying to help you not to get sick and other people please report then to nhs. My daughter and I were looking for somewhere different to eat and by accident found this gem. The food is amazing staff even though there English was limited they were so helpful. I will be going there again

The food is delicious but unfortunately a member of staff was unprofessional. I have come a cross a member of staff who wants to take my order and did not want to come near me so I can show him what I want from the menu. He wanted me to shoutout my order as he was far away so that other customers can hear me and because I have already settled down and had a soup otherwise I would have left the restaurant immediately. I ate my food with no appetite as I was fumming and so angry. I think this would be my last visit.

When here a few weeks ago parking is abit of issue there then that the food was made fresh and nice.

Before I mention anything this is my last visit here. The staff are rude and don’t have respect, when asked to make an order he refused to come near me so that i can show him what I want on from the menu, he stood over 3 meters away and wants me to shoutout my order. I find it embarrassing shouting my order as everyone will be staring at me specially when restaurant is full with customers. His attitude and service is unprofessional. The food was grate I can’t deny that.

I went in with my friend and ordered 1 chicken shish £9. Bulgar and fasolye with rice. Apparently that came to £29.00. The food was nice but they make up the prices . Honestly better off going to Kurdistan Resturant near rookery road much better people , will never go here again. They humiliated us at the till. The food should have come to a maximum of £16.00 he then processed to telling me that Rice was not part of the chicken, which it wasn’t. But it was £4.00 on the menu and he charged me £14 for plain RICE?!!!! We tried to explain it for him but everyone was watching and men were staring so we got put off and left . Anyone who isn’t Kurdish, they will rip off. Stay away !!! Wastemen

What a fantastic Kurdish joint in the heart of Handsworth serving a fantastic menus whether it's a quick shawarma sandwich, grill platter, lamb or chicken kozi - it's a place for you. Staff is super friendly giving you enough time to look through the menu and explain the items well if you request more information. I took the lamb kozi with chickpea side and comes with Nan bread, rice and soup as standard. The taste was really good and everything tasted on point. Staff got confused and took my drink away while I went to wash my hands before I have the tea however fantastic service when I wasn't charged. A must visit if you are in Birmingham and fancy some Kurdish food.

Amazing food... Probably the best in Birmingham!! Prices was incredibly reasonable. This is not fine dinning but if tastes is important to you, don't miss this hidden gem. *Update After about 10 visits this is still the best Middle Eastern food in Birmingham by a long shot!! It's no fancy or boujee by any means and that salad let it down but the guzi is amazing, better than far more expensive restaurants in London. The kebabs, tikka and all the veggie dishes like okra, aubergines are literally delicious. The Kubba is like a professional Iraqi housewife made it so total winner. If you like Iraqi/Kurdish dishes or you want to try them this is the place. Last thing, the prices are insanely low for the amount of food. If they just made some nice Middle Eastern salads we would eat here every night 🙈😂

First time we visited this place for a take out, and im sorry it will be our last. We ordered mixed shawarma, and lamb shish. Paid £2 the smallest portion of chips. We really enjoyed the bread.

The best food we had in Birmingham. I live in London and the prices in this restaurant is a lot less expensive compared to London and the food is so delicious, well cooked and the stuff are so welcoming. Keep it up guys 🙌🏽👏🏽

Absolutely loved it from start to finish. Lots of options available to choose from. The best sellers the chicken and lamb Shawarmas. Gutted they were finished but that's my fault because we came towards closing time and we left at 9:30, we were the last ones in the shop and they never rushed us into leaving. That is amazing and great customer service. Next the Lamb kuzi is a must as well as the Sheesh spicy kebab, and you acnt miss the wings. Proper rich authentic food man from another culture. Kurdish I think not 100% sure. Great for families and plenty of seating.

I went to this restaurant like 3 times, in every time the food was good but the forks and spoons very dirty. The last time I went there I became really shocked by the plate of salad that I ordered, it did contain a small pease of hair and that was disgusting. I really loved the place and people but the hygiene is zero. They will always try to bring you cold naan. No hot made bread at all. Beans and tebsi did not taste as original Kurdistan food because there was too much curry inside and tasted much more Indian. Anyway this is my opinion. My biggest concern is the food hygiene and that’s why I gave one star.
