Zaitoon in Birmingham

This is not the 80's. You can not serve people drinks with dispensible cups. You can not say that food is served with Nan bread and serve a tortilla from Tesco... And the food... Not sure how this place is still open

Walked past this place so many times I thought we would give it a try. The sign said “All you can eat buffet” so myself and the kids were happy. However once inside they said they don’t do that now. Food and drinks were ordered and took a while to arrive, flavours were good and food piping hot. Avoid the mock tails as I have no idea what mine was but it wasn’t what it should have been. Prices were above average and portions were very generous.

I've walked past here many times and decided to grab a to go box from here today and it was so tasty! Thoroughly recommend!

Really enjoyed what we ordered. Our 2 years old loved the lamb kebab. Staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Will definitely go back.

Stumbled upon this restaurant an invitation from the chef who was sitting outside. Buffet style Persian, Arabic style food. Some pleasant flavours but all at an ambient temperature. Cheap pitta hard under the lights not Arabic bread. Kebabs and Schwarma ok but ended up having to have it warmed to make it palatable. Tea with cinnamon authentic and monumental. I hope it gets better as trying but a way to go

Omg , me and my friends were very excited to go here, it was empty only one table wonder why 🤨 , firstly we ordered the hummus, that was really nice But when mains came , I ordered lamb shish with saffron rice it was not nice very chewy and bland rice was just boiled with yellow bits on top 🙄🤨 my friends ordered chicken shish with fries and they just said it wasn’t nice , they also ordered mojitos but was given virgin mojito twist and don’t get me started on them it looked like swamps just full of wet mint!!😭😭😭😂 also no one checked back on us only one manager working who was Smily but useless! We ordered the bull without service charge, but the manager went back to give the other guy the machine we paid then he returned back u have still 10 pound more but we refused I said no service charge!!!!!!!!! Get it right and get the food right and drinks I only enjoyed my 7up and hummus 👍 never going back here and I don’t think anyone should 🤪

Says £8 any course of meal and charges you £10.00. When you ask for explanation they give very unprofessional response by do you want your £2.00 back? Makes you say no. Food taste is also not good. This restaurant has changed owner many times and it’s due to lake of experience and professionalism. I don’t recommend it and will not show up here again.

I came here with my family as they flew here to visit me. We order the plate for four thinking that if something will be left, we'll take it later. But it didn't happen! The food was so tasty we literally spend few hours inside drinking Persian tea and eating special ice cream with saffron and pistachios. I thought it will take 30-60 minutes for the food to come as it's very big amount of meat, but it came very quickly and perfectly cooked! Nothing burnt, nothing dry. If only I had second stomach I would order another plate! The place looks really nice, they also have a singer playing in the quitar. If anyone wants a nice date or a place to take their family to, this is perfect! Also the prices are pretty low compare to other restaurants around.

I’ve been to Zaitoon twice now and both experiences have been pretty good. The staff are incredibly friendly, special shout-out in particular to Shama (apologies if I’ve misspelled your name) who has been wonderful every time my family and I have visited. The overall atmosphere of this place is just incredibly warm and welcoming. Anytime the food has been late, the chefs have come to us themselves to apologise, which is greatly appreciated. The second time I visited, I found a sharp piece of plastic in my food, which resulted in my meal being taken off the bill, which, again, was greatly appreciated. In terms of its services, this place tops the charts. In terms of its food range, I wouldn’t rate it as highly. Albeit it’s a Persian restaurant, it would be lovely if there wasn’t only one vegetarian meal on the menu (which I also found quite bland). There really isn’t much option for non-meat eaters unless you personally ask the staff to customise it yourself. Overall, not a bad place to get a fulfilling meal. I just wish I didn’t always have to order Veg Tajine every time I went there.

Very poor, totally disappointed, we have been walking past this restaurant for a long time now and desperate to try it so took the plunge, never again. They sat us down and brought menus quite quickly, we ordered a jug of drink and a cola, the jug came but the cola did not arrive we had to ask again. We ordered starters and a main, the starters came but there were no plates given to us or any cutlery we had to ask. The bread with the starter was cold and very dry. We had not finished our starters when the mains came out and they were just dumped on the table the lamb shish kebab tasted and smelt off so we complained and was shown a receipt for a delivery of lamb mince that had been “delivered” that morning. We told them that the receipt doesn’t mean anything the lamb could have been old lamb not necessarily the batch that was delivered that day but the man did not believe us that it was off. We told the man we didn’t want to continue our meal and he told us we could leave with no payment due and whilst I was using the bathroom a lady came and told the other members of our group we needed to pay for our starters and drinks even after the disgusting service and food we had received. I will never go there again and I wouldn’t recommend anyone go either, there is another restaurant literally round the corner seconds walk from this place that does the same style food so we went there and had a delicious meal with great service.

Food was horrible watery and bland . Had a lamb tagine was very plain -boiled rice with boiled veg and bland lamb. Also chicken breast screwers.. also very watery and bland

First of all the food came really late. Then the food came ice cold. The portion of the food was really not good. And when we told them the food is cold they reheated our plate in the microwave and served us again and there was not a single apology. At that point we decided to leave because it was too much to take. We paid £36 for the meal and the restaurant actually took the money without even asking how the meal was even though they could see we had left most of the food on the plate. Also the drinks tasted like sugar water. We urge everyone not to waste money at Zaitoon restaurant Birmingham.
