Superb food - couldn’t fault - if rather expensive! However, only one available red wine by the glass - apparently hotel closing for season - so this was the reason - never heard of this before? Is the establishment under new management - be interested to know as returning customer - to be honest not much of an experience as used to be when host was friendly, welcoming and really good service - current one is not !!! Unfortunately will not be returning - better options in the highlands.

We haven’t been to the inn for a while. But as Sunday lunch here has always been good we headed north for a family treat. And treat it was! They have a new chef, Thomas, who introduced himself to us (and other diners) and was keen to know if we had enjoyed our meal. We had! This is not a traditional Sunday roast - it’s above and beyond better. The gravy was sublime. I asked what was in it and he said chicken stock and a lot of love! Treat yourself this is the best ❤️

This is our favourite place to stay in Scotland. Always a friendly welcome from Jade and the staff, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. The breakfast is wonderful and tasty. Evening meal was Cullen Skink - totally amazing, steak cooked to perfection. There are no improvements that can be made to this place, total perfection.

Stopped here for coffee (14th August) this morning on our cycle around Loch Tummel. The owner was extremely welcoming and accommodating. We both had coffee and enjoyed scones and cakes that had just been freshly made that morning. The weather was perfect to sit outside and the view over the lake is just amazing. I can’t comment on their main menu, but if it is as good as their cakes then I’m sure it would be lovely.

Stopped here for just a coffee , ended up having cakes as well, the people couldn't do enough for us , the cakes were delicious (made on the premises apparently! ) special mention goes to the rhubarb Danish ( I think there was a hint of ginger too, apologies to the chef if I'm wrong) which was really tasty. I'd definitely stop again for a meal next time :) I read through the comments before this and was quite surprised at some of them. All in all I'd recommend this place for a stop :)

Omg, the Sunday roast at The Inn at Loch Tummel is absolutely BRILLIANT. The teapot of gravy we've got – it’s like liquid gold, adding a rich and savoury touch to every bite, and you KNOW it's homemade! Sure, it’s not the cheapest meal you’ll find, but it's worth every penny. The quality and flavours are unmatched, making it a treat you won’t regret splurging on. Perfect for families, the atmosphere feels like an age-old tradition where everyone gathers to feast and celebrate the week past. If you're looking for a cosy, delicious Sunday outing, The Inn at Loch Tummel is the place to be.

This Inn is in a magnificent setting and there are a lot of things they get right. However we were disappointed overall. The accommodation is not cheap and the room was well decorated clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was substantial and good served in the upstairs restaurant which seemed a better option than the downstairs bar which was offered the night before. The bathroom was enormous and no complaints. We arrived late in the afternoon and bought a drink at the rather scruffy bar. Intending to stay for dinner we asked to see the menu. We were absolutely flabbergasted to see the cost was £50 for 2 courses or £60 for three. Plus an additional 12.5% service charge. The menu didn’t look that exciting for the price so we abandoned our plans and went into Pitlochry. Second shock when in the morning we got the bill for the drinks £23 for a pint and a gin and tonic (including the 12.5% service charge). We made our feelings known about the prices to the owner who muttered something about he’d come up from London and these were London prices. They certainly were. We had just spent a week in the highlands eating and drinking at superb restaurants and bars for much less.

The food was lovely, the drink selection was fantastic and the ambiance was just right. Ended up playing golf on the green outside the restaurant with the owner at sunset. Honestly, I cannot recommend this place enough. We’ll be back soon.

Perfect stay. Got room 7 - amazing views to the Loch and the mountains. Menu is very diverse and careful about your dietary requirements. I try to avoid gluten and they had gluten free crumble to offer which was absolutely banging. They even have a garden of herbs and such which makes the whole experience feel so local and special. Thank you guys! The service was exceptional as well!

Amazing location, great views. Restaurant has good standard of decoration & is comfortable. Went for Sunday lunch, £40 for 2 courses. Menu had choice at each course & we chose only to be told the starter we had chosen wasn’t available ( we should have been told when given the menu). Bit of confusion over what soft drinks they had and didn’t have. Had to keep asking for water refills. Perhaps they should leave a jug or bottle on the table. So service was not great. Food was fine- haggis bon bon & pasta starters both good. The roast beef was a bit over done for our liking. Veg were over cooked. Again at least one dessert wasn’t available. Granted we booked for 2pm, however they serve until at least 3, so not sure anything would have been left by then🤷♀️. Automatic 12.5% service charge was steep especially as the service wasn’t great.

As we walked into this Inn my husband felt he had visited the hotel before but couldn’t work out when. Then the owner arrived and we realised the inn had featured on a TV documentary. We received a warm welcome from the owner Jay(?) who was full of fun and reserved a seat in the cosy bar by the fire. Our room was so comfortable, clean and creatively decorated. The views are over the loch and the outdoor garden is a beautiful place to absorb this scenic area. Delicious food and wine followed by a cosy evening in the snug. Books, games a difficult room to leave. Amazing breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and very good coffee.

Snobby bloke at the bar looked down his nose at my family and I after we asked to split a bowl of soup between two of us. He then proceeded to tell us that this was an impossibility for some nonsensical reason. I also find it ridiculous that a so called “inn” cannot stock draft beer, instead I had to suffer through an overpriced lukewarm tinny. There was only one shoddy dairy alternative for the coffee too. Ultimately, the views and location are stunning but I would avoid ordering anything from the bar as it was NOT good value for money.

Our family also had the lamb and sea trout which they loved as well. Mandy and Jane were super attentive and helpful with suggestions and different drinks to try. Visiting the local area, we left our dinner preparations a little late and my wife booked this last minute on Saturday, only when we sat down and were handed a menu did I realise it was 2 courses for £40, yes, you heard me right ( for an extra £5 you get 3 courses) Please note: there is no option to just have one course, I'm no Carol vorderman but I worked out this meal was going to be costly, without even ordering a drink, I was looking at £80 for for a starter and main for two, fancy a glass of proseco with your meal? Add another £11 ( thats for a glass folks, not a bottle) even a couple of soft drinks were going to add almost £10 to your bill, during a cost of living crisis these prices are crazy, I'm all for supporting a local business not buying shares in one! I chose the steak pie, bog standard round pie, that arrived with a few crunchy items of mixed veg, I sat back awaiting some chunky chips, fries or mash, surley at these prices this can't be it? Unfortunately that was it, totally underwhelming. My partner had the burger, again, nothing weatherpoons couldn't knock out, except even wethersoons give you a bit of salad with theirs! Dessert was brownie with ice cream, nice, but certainly not worth £20!!!! The bill in total was just shy of £100 I can say hand on heart that as much a I tried not to let the price and value for money ruin my evening it did, for this price I'd expect a celebrity chef or a 5 star high end restaurant this was neither, save your money and go elsewhere.

We visited for the 2 course dinner (£40 for 2 courses + £6 for sides) and although the food was locally sourced, quality produce and well cooked, it was the same quality you'd find in a nice gastro pub - but far more expensive. It's almost fine dining prices but without the fine dining experience; eating off too small pub tables, no table cloths, standard service. So, although food very good and we absolutely do not mind paying for quality, it did feel priced on the high side. Further, no lager or beer on tap (only bottles or tins) which is odd for a pub and again, for the prices you'd expect at least one beer on draft.

We have just returned from a two night stay here with our infant son and couldn’t have been happier with every element of our trip. The hotel itself is in a beautiful location, and has been renovated and decorated to a very high standard. We stayed in a super king room and it was lovely, so much space for us, our travel cot and all of the things that come with travelling with a young baby. The bed was SO comfortable, we could have stayed much longer just for that! The owner met us at check in and couldn’t have been nicer-so friendly, informative and warm. All of the measures they have taken regarding COVID safety were explained (and were sensible) and he took us to our room. We were visiting family in the area so did not eat lunch or dinner but, if the quality of the breakfast is anything to go by, we would love to come back to enjoy an evening meal or two-breakfast was superb! Again, great service both days and nothing was too much trouble ( even our ten month old knocking cold coffee all over the table wasn’t an issue!)We definitely intend to return either as a family or just the two of us for a night away. Having visited the area every year since I was a young child i have seen this hotel in its many different forms, and this one is by far the best. Well done and hope to see you again soon!

Given its pretty remote location in a village of a few houses at most, the Inn could be forgiven for not trying too hard as the nearest other option is at least ten miles away. But they DO try hard and they succeed. The food follows simple, classic lines with quality ingredients, skillfully cooked, well presented and served with a smile. Not too many flavours competing on the plate, portion size just right and nothing overly complex. The menu isn't extensive but there is variety. The Inn itself commands gorgeous views (when the weather permits) and inside the welcome is warm and genuine, the seating comfortable, the lighting just right, the background music audible enough to make out what it is but not so loud as to be intrusive and the heat from the log burner adds a welcome cosiness.Decor is simple, but very tastefully done - and suits the building. It's hard to fault this little place - they don't get a lot of passing trade so it must be tricky to predict numbers and source accordingly so the owners and chef deserve a lot of credit for pushing the standards up above virtually all of the others around. I hope they don't lose faith as so many places do when things get a bit bumpy - it takes time to build a reputation and this one is starting on very solid ground.Well done.

The restaurant here is in the gastropub/elevated comfort food zone. I enjoyed squash soup followed by shepherd's pie on a quiet fall night and was entranced.

I had made a booking for 24 people 6 months ago, some of whom are coming all the way from Paris. The menu had been agreed. I now discover that it has been cancelled unilaterally with no explanations or alternatives suggested. Very unprofessional, do not trust them!

We dined each night if our stay and we can recommend everything we chose. Not the cheapest place in the world, but not the most expensive either, but the slight extra cost from average same-old inn food is well worth the effort.

We stayed here for 3 nights, originally only booked for 2 but enjoyed this lovely place so much that we booked another night. Everything about the Inn is welcoming from the lovely owners, Alice & Jade, to the beautiful, well furnished rooms with very comfortable beds and big bathrooms. The food is quite simply outstanding. Choose from a small menu of lovely fresh food, well cooked and beautifully presented. We particularly liked the red mullet (I chose it 2 nights running). Breakfasts are equally as good and you sit with beautiful views out over Loch Tummel. If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay with wonderful walks nearby then this is it

There were no negatives to our experience. We were two couples and we all ordered different meals. The food was uniformly excellent as was the service and the ambiance.

We rebooked a visit here and once again we were extemely pleased with our stay. The ambience is so relaxing and peaceful, the owners are utterly charming, food is delicious and delightfully presented and the rooms are sumptously decorated with comfortable beds. Cannot praise this highly enough, and if you are in the area would recommend you to book a visit.

Decided to go for an afternoon pint at the end of a long day walking in hills as we were staying at a nearby campsite. Nice chat with a local as we parked up set the scene and then we saw the view. Outstanding.

Stayed at the Inn at Loch Tummel for 3 nights and ate there on a couple of occasions. A truly beautiful location with views across Loch Tummel from the dining room. Overall very comfortable accommodation, superb food and excellent service. Couldn’t fault the experience.

Terrible prices (£5 for a pint!!) and rude service from bar staff, never mind the poor selection of drinks.

Lovely looking pub with stunning views over the loch, however the experience was ruined by the shocking service and attitude of the bar maid that served us. I ordered a real ale (they only have one), and sat down while waiting for the beer to settle. Once settled I noticed the beer quite cloudy. Sure enough it smelt and tasted like vinegar, totally un-drinkable. Took it back to the bar and told this to the barmaid, who just said “the pipes have been cleaned so it must be ok”. I said no it’s cloudy and tastes like vinegar, maybe its at the end of the barrel? No interest from her, totally refused to replace the pint or refund me. However she did offer to sell me another drink if I wanted something else! I’ve been drinking ale for 30 years and I know when a pint is bad, but here I am with a young girl in her 20’s virtually calling me liar. On the rare occasion I've ever had a bad pint of ale I’ve swapped it with no questions asked. This is the first time in 30 years I’ve been robbed. Avoid at all costs!!

The restaurant offers a high quality limited range menu with something to suit everyone. Everything is homemade and of a superb standard, the tables were all booked at least once in the evening and the staff were super welcoming and good humoured throughout the whole evening.

We stopped for a couple of drinks with friends over Easter and even though the weather wasn't that warm it was sunny so I sat outside. Friendly service. It had a huge beer garden. We will come back should we ever be in the area.

Behind the traditional highland stone facade of this inn, there is a small and very up-market international restaurant. The menu is interesting and the dishes beautifully prepared. I have not encountered more sophisticated food anywhere else north of Glasgow. In addition, the decor is dramatic, but it is a pity the waitress wears jeans. The only negative is the slow service, but it is worth waiting. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Stopped off at the outside seating for lunch. The ham and cheese ultimate toastie with the chilli jam was excellent served with crisps and side salad. Egg mayonnaise sandwich was equally good. Good sized cappuccino coffees.

Lovely location, good service and great food. We had bacon rolls, an egg roll, followed by scones & cakes, all were excellent. Will definitely be back on our next visit to the area.

We needed to buy some last-minute desserts for vegan visitors. The shop had closed but the owner saw us and opened up the shop for us. We told him what we needed and he took us through everything that could fit, not rushing us in the slightest. The shop had a great range of vegan desserts and we managed to get exactly what we wanted. Very friendly and personal customer service. We will definitely be back.
