Went here tonight, we normally go to elif on lark lane but tried here. Wasn't disappointed, food was absolutely spot on 👌 Two of us had the mixed grill, sheesh kebab, lamb/chicken kebab, lamb chopped, rice and salad, superb. Lamb was perfect. One had lamb chops main meal, absolutely delicious. Prawn in garlic sauce and bread with humous to start. Will definitely return. Two lovely waitresses aswel, really nice, service was good. Deffo recommend.

Firstly we come here weekly, with our baby, the food is good. More importantly what makes us come back is the outstanding service and friendliness of the waitress, Abby. She honestly, as far as we see, works almost alone, does everything quick and efficient. I would highly recommend tulay and to ask for Abby to serve you for an extra wonderful experience.

Very poor quality of food for Christmas Day, didn’t want to cause a fuss as we was with family and didn’t want to ruin the day. Rang up the following day to discuss with manager, no apology for serving oven chips, bone dry salmon and very substandard roast dinners, which had frozen roast potatoes, frozen Yorkshire puddings and tinned veg. Managers attitude was awful, his reply was that that’s what you get on Christmas Day for twice the price with no offers to resolve our issues, it’s not about the price, it’s the fact of a ruined Christmas dinner experience and no apology. The manager will reply telling us not to return if we’re not happy as he has with other poor reviews by other customers, again very poor customer service. Well I would never return anyway, along with the substandard food, the restaurant is very tatty, scruffy and could do with a refurbishment. *** I wasn’t ringing about the price, it was the quality and your poor attitude with no apology. Why would I waste my time lying?? Just don’t want other people to make the same mistake we did, that’s what google reviews is for so businesses can’t get away with substandard services, your the only liar around here, your a conman, good luck with serving your frozen food in your scruffy restaurant *** Listen mate, just take it like a man, why are you being so nasty ? Had Christmas meal yesterday. The food was good as always. Staff really attentive and hard working giving up their Christmas day to serve others. The meal was good value for the price and I have to say cheaper than other restaurants. Thanks and well done to you all x

Awful takeaway food. Ordered from here and the food was disgusting like in the bin, inedible. Considering the good reviews this place has I don’t know if we were given reheated food or what. The meat was dry and chewy. The bread was moist and chewy. There was no rice which there was supposed to be with both main meals. Wasted £40 and not sure I’d be willing to give them another try based off this

We had Christmas dinner here this year. We always come here as a family and pick it for Christmas day as the set menu was beyond reasonably priced, the food was gorgeous as always. Big thank you to the staff who went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our day whilst giving up their own Christmas.

Used to be top quality, badly gone down the pan. Would highley recommend to anyone who likes food from pre cooked dinner aisle in farmfoods.. The frozen chips are exceptional Definitely won't be eating there again any time soon.

Visited Tulay for our Christmas dinner! Phoned up weeks previous too book, and ask for the menu & prices for Christmas Day! After speaking with the staff, before I went ahead and booked, I explained one of my children was autistic and would they be able to meet his dietary needs, as he's so fussy. They reassured me that they would cater to this. I went ahead and booked, and me and my family had the best time ever! We chose the traditional Christmas dinner off the Christmas menu, which we all enjoyed along side our starter of soup & chocolate cake for dessert! The staff couldn’t do enough for my son who opted for chicken nuggets & chips!! We was made to feel welcome from the moment we got there! Each and every one of the staff was amazing! So attentive, understanding to our needs, and couldn’t do more for us! I will definitely be returning. Thank you too all the staff who made our Christmas Day special!!

I had previously visited here before and was very satisfied with my order last time, so when me and my friend were looking for somewhere to eat here was perfect. Made a last minute booking and staff were perfect, incredibly friendly, took our order perfectly. Each item on the menu we got meat wise such as the sucuk, chicken, lamb chop and Adana kebab tasted individually different seasoning wise yet used very clear tradition Turkish spices which I love. The lamb chop especially unlike some restaurants, was not too fatty and had a lot of meat on the bone. Chicken and sucuk like all the meat had a good kick to it and tasted spicy, warm and notes of that sweet and charcoal taste I love. Sauces like everything else was served hot and fresh! Not to mention the complementary bread, which I was able to take leftovers home. Even the salads tasted very nicely dressed and fresh, the rice particularly has a lovely flavour and bit clumpy like some places who serve old rice. Cheesy garlic bread and red salt chips tasted pretty much as described and very delicious, maybe a bit more garlic and herb flavour on the bread however would be better. Mainly due to the generous amount of cheese which covers a lot of flavour. The falafels although small were incredibly delicious and a first for me in trying surprisingly. My only main issue however was that the Adana kebab which I requested extra of (and did not get extra) was smaller in size than I previously had received when ordering this meal and meat wise tasted maybe a tad over cooked. Maybe for the meals such as the mixed grill it would be helpful if the menu would tell you more about any additions or substitutions. Noteworthy mentioning I grabbed a fudge cake dessert to take away which tasted excellent and still moist even the next day. I’d recommend this place for anyone who enjoys Turkish or Mediterranean cuisine in general. The warm welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, combined with id say authentic tasting food makes it worth a visit anytime.

Fantastic place to eat staff brilliant

We are gluten and dairy free. The waiter was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and showed us that there were several options for us. We had falafel, lamb stew and lamb and aubergine. Effes is on draft and I would recommend you try the Turkish wine. The Ephesus wine was really good.

Celebrated my birthday here this weekend, fantastic atmosphere staff were so lovely & welcoming and the food was lovely.

Absolutely fantastic food, really nice atmosphere and nico and the rest of the staff are lovely... I recommend this restaurant to anyone who would like to try some nice Turkish food cooked over a charcoal fire. Very reasonably priced, and one of my favourite restaurants.

We have been coming here for years and it’s always the same staff, always a nice friendly welcome. The food is just absolutely gorgeous never have we had a bad experience in this restaurant and no matter the time and how many people your with they get you a table I rang last year on New Year’s Eve and they got 10 of us in. Always very grateful for this. I would recommend the mixed Adana it is out of this world.

I've always loved the food, recently I was charged 10 pound more than shown on the website for collection. As it turns out 1 pound more than just eat after their pricing and charges, also and I collected it. I was told the hosting has been hacked so they cannot update, but with higher prices than just eat, I am a bit confused. Feel a bit fobbed off to be honest which is a real shame.

1st time eating here, got mixed meats. The meat was very nice, juicy and not over cooked other that the long minced meat kebab thing (sorry not sure what it's called) this was burned on the underside so left a real burned taste in my mouth, couldn't eat it. Rice wasn't to my taste either, quite starchy and slightly hard. The salad was lovely and I really ordered thos for the meat and salad so I was happy overall. Staff polite and efficient. I would recommend here due to the delicious meat.

Had another fabulous meal at Tulay. We shared starters and had hummus and fab Turkish bread and salmon filo rolls. Husband had the Mixed kebab with is a large selection of meats/kebabs - very lean lamb included and his favourite meal here. I had the lamb shank - cooked so meat falls off bone - served in a sauce with potatoes and carrots/onions - superb meal. Meals served with rice or chips and salad. Great service and wines at decent prices. Warn welcome and recommended. 5 mins stroll from Waterloo train station.

Don't judge a book by its cover, as I almost did. The restaurant may not look much from the outside, but we had 3 different grilled lamb and chicken dishes and all were full of tasty flame-grilled flavour and the meats were relatively (I've had better but not by much) succulent and juicy. The portion sizes are more than generous, so don't let the price of some of the dishes fool you. It's all pretty no-frills, so all you get with the dishes is a portion of rice, maybe a side-salad, but the rice is delicious and, with the meat portion sizes, you don't particularly need anymore food. The biggest surprise was the wine list. Some of the choices were great and we had a lovely bottle of Rioja that was very reasonably priced at around £20, and went extremely well with the food. The staff were super friendly and helpful and service was quick. Comfortable seats too, which is rare. I'll be back.

Our first visit here and won’t be our last. The food is gorgeous! the decor is fabulous. The young lady working on our visit was lovely. From front of house to waitress to serving drinks and all done with a smile, she was fabulous. Hospitality really is her forte. The food really is delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Visited with family. Staff were helpful and attentive. Food was simply delicious especially the lamb shank which was falling off the bone it was so tender. Others had koftas mixed grill , prawns and lamb adana everyone declared their meals delicious. Would definitely go again

We visited early evening on saturday. Staff were friendly and attentive without pestering. Food was gorgeous. 2 main meals with 2 sises and 2 drinks each came to £55. The atmosphere wss nice and seemed to have lots of returning customers. We will be back soon.

You literally can’t fault anything here. The staff are so friendly. The food is the best on south road. So much choice and so tasty and fresh. We go as a treat when we can get a sitter but would go more often if we could.

Tulay is just the most welcoming friendly laid back restaurant to eat in. The staff are always so nice from the minute you walk in. Food is always amazing, both times we’ve been it’s busy yet the food has been hot fresh and delicious. They treat the younger guests so special with lovely glasses to drink out of with umbrellas and fresh fruit ( it’s the little attentive things that make this place so special) Even a simple glass of water here comes with fresh fruit and looks nice. I’ve had both the chicken and lamb kebabs and honestly the meat they serve is so so tasty! Lovely place we will never tire of visiting.

I can only assume this has been taken over? There were lots of staff on their phone, the bread was burnt to a crisp, the meals were tasteless. This was our go to. I'm gutted. Any Turkish people on the premises? I doubt it. So disappointed and won't be back after 10 years eating here.

We ordered a takeaway from Tulay on Saturday night & the food arrived promptly. We had Hummus with bread to start & for mains my wife had the lamb stew & I had the lamb shank. All the dishes were excellent quality & I can honestly say it was the best lamb shank I've ever tasted. Thank u Tulay & we would highly recommend to anyone that enjoys Turkish cuisine.

27 of us went last night for my birthday and the food was amazing 🤤 and the staff were lovely very friendly x

Had takeaway from these guys a few times over lockdown and it has transported us abroad! Everything fresh and well-made, and really tasty. Had a minor error on our most recent takeaway and they sorted it and redelivered what was missing in ten minutes! Have returned for in house food and it is just as good.

Group of 7 of us visited here for a family meal. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was really good. Full of flavour and really fresh. The house white was also very good. All good great experience and would highly recommend.

Ate early evening mid week, We shared a portion of hummus and fab Turkish bread and the salmon filo rolls. Mains I had the lamb shank - tasted amazing - has potatoes and carrots in the sauce. Husband tried something different this time - had chicken kebab i sauce on a bed of Turkish Bread which he loved. Wines all very reasonable as is the champagne. Food is always excellent along with superb service.

So, our ladies group went to Tulay last night. This is my honest review. Staff seemed nice, but if I'm honest I felt as though there was a lot of removing things from the table, glasses etc... Without an excuse me. I'm not a fan of that. It's the little things. The food was nice, but we sent the Calamari back as it had a lot of sinew in it. The Calamari was still on the bill and when mentioned it was removed. But we shouldn't have had to ask. I accept mistakes happen. Would I return, maybe, I'm still unsure.

The meat is ok, the place is clean and the service is good. However, I have tried others Turkish BBQs and, considering quality and value for money, I can’t give more than 3 stars. An option for a dinner out or takeaway if you live nearby.

Went to Tulay Turkish restaurant on south rd today to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. Omg the steaķ was the best we have ever eaten. Will recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves steak

The prices on the website are lower than that in the restaurant. For the prices they charge you expect At least a complimentary mint with the cheque. Nothing at all. Most Turkish restaurants offer Turkish bread and dips to start free of charge. The small touches that make a restaurant feel special, there was nothing here. Nothing at all only extremely overpriced mediocre food! Please go somewhere that offers better value for money. Leaving this restaurant hungry.

Ate at Tulay late on a Sunday afternoon after the New Year. All very clean and hand sanitizer on entering.Food as always was fabulous. Husband got the chicken goujons to start – proper chicken breast wrapped in breadcrumbs – I had the king prawns in white wine and garlic – huge prawns – best on South Road – along with fab Turkish Bread. Service is excellent and with a smile.Mains husband had the Mixed meat kebab which he loves from here – I had the lamb shank – sauce was superb and really tasty.Wine all very reasonable under £20 a bottle. Brandy Coffees to finish another fab meal at Tulay.5 minutes from Waterloo Station along South Road.

Ordered a delivery 2 sirloin steak and 3 fanta when it came it was freezing after paying £64 i think it was a total rip off would never order off them again

Been visiting this restaurant for over 10 years. Only to have had a full blown argument with the manager tonight over an incorrect takeaway order and I couldn’t be more disgusted. Having selected a certain option on Uber Eats, we were sent a different meal. After discussing this with the manager I was then basically called a liar, then told to claim my money back through Uber because it would ‘cost money’ for the restaurant to rectify the mistake. I then, at 6 months pregnant at 6 o’clock at night, I had to drive to the restaurant to PROVE that I had submitted the correct order. To again be met with ‘this is Ubers problem, their information is wrong’ - the information is exactly the same as the Tulay direct website, but I was then told ‘that’s for my regular customers, they know the food’ Wow.Rude, arrogant and completely dismissive of the fact I was sent the wrong order. Instead, blaming the menu for the discrepancy. As a customer, I struggle to understand how any of this is my fault. When the correct meals were eventually prepared and brought out, he didn’t even have the decency to bring them to us himself, instead sending one of the waiting staff. No apology from the manager.I never ever ever write reviews, but found this experience so bad that I felt compelled to warn other customers should they receive an incorrect order. Appalling.

Another superb meal tonight, Chicken wing starters for both of us, I had the lamb chops which were cooked to perfection, my wife loved her chicken kebab skewer. Always fabulous food, friendly staff and a great dining experience, so, so good this place! A real credit to Mehmet and the team, can't wait for the next meal there.

Had a lovely meal and the staff were great. Friendly and helpful. Mains were delicious and I'd recommend the lamb chops to anybody. I was a little Disappointed with our starters, but they were nice and this didn't ruin our evening. All and all a enjoyable evening.

We started with the garlic mushrooms and aubergine and tahini dip. Both excellent.Then we had the adana kebab, chicken and lamb, they were quite happy to change the lamb pieces for the shish. And chicken wings main, both came with rice and salad, both excellent again. Would definitely recommend

Amazing Turkish food and fantastic service - highly recommend this gem of a restaurant. The baklava finished me off but it was worth it. Can't wait to try more of the menu next time!
