Fabulous breakfasts. So good my husband wanted to lick the plate clean. Very tasty. We love the surroundings. Lovely staff and the homemade biscuits with our coffees were delicious and a lovely touch.

Another really lovely meal. I had a couple of problems with my food intolerances, and they dealt with this extremely well. Whilst we ate from the small plates menu, we did notice some great brunch meals going out, so we will definitely be trying that next time.

This is the first time in many visits that the food didn’t live up to the usual standards. Hash browns on the brunch breakfast were frozen when the food arrived. These were changed but we waited a long time for this and other food ordered so most of our party had finished before one of our guests received his food. This trip was for our 17yr old son’s birthday. To be fair to staff they were very apologetic and they did remove our drinks from the bill. Botanic is a wonderful restaurant to have in the village where we live and like I said we always have a fab experience when it comes to the food and the service. Obviously just a bad day.

Had the taps, wonderful flavours, plates came out one at a time. Never had taps served this way, great idea allows you to enjoy it whilst it's still hot. Very friendly staff great atmosphere

We had a Sunday roast lunch with the family. Having ordered ahead, our young granddaughter changed her mind and we re- ordered from the children's menu. The staff were very helpful bringing her food as soon as it was prepared. Our roasts and side order vegetables were delicious as always. Well done Botanic Road. Your consistently high standards are hard to beat.

Lovely roast lamb dinner . Everything hot and beautifully presented . We have eaten a few times and never disappointed.

We took advantage of the January 50% discount - as, it seemed, had lots of people! Food and service was as good as it always is and we thoroughly enjoyed our small plates. We really recommend Botanic Kitchen - it's just lovely in all ways.

The food here is always so great, love the tapas style sharing! Lots of veggie options. Service is the best. The atmosphere is very cosy, good for date nights or meeting the girls.

Gorgeous place to eat, one of our favourites. Only issue is how hot it is in the restaurant, heating is always on full blast and sitting at the far end can be quite uncomfortable!

Staff appeared very inexperienced with no interaction.. they did not ask if we wanted 1 plate at a time, or anything different. the only time we were asked if the food was ok was when we paid .. 2 of the 7 options were not very good, but staff member just said well I hope you come back.. I expected better..

Fabulous place for drinks, cocktails, brunch or evening meals, great vibes, great music, decor is tasteful, atmosphere is relaxed but feels like a 5 star restaurant. Staff are helpful polite and welcoming. Should be on your list for a visit highly recommended and will return.

Me and my friends visited on Saturday night for some small plates and drinks. The value for money was great, the atmosphere was lovely, the food was unbelievable and the staff were really attentive and made us feel welcome. Caitlin and the girls were all really lovely and made sure we all had a great night and everybody in the party had a fab time. Won’t be the last time we visit and we look forward to visiting again!

Food was good but portions much smaller than normal. We wondered if this was due to them being 50% off. Service from the first young girl wasn't good. Very rude and condescending. Need a good manager in there.

Been here a number of times with family and friends always 2 or 3 people. Staff are always excellent, service quick and polite. Food is very good, tasty and well prepared. Great location and decent parking around the immediate area. Highly recommended

My most recent visit was disappointing. We booked our table for 5pm, arrived, were seated, 25 minutes later our order was taken, we are and as always the food was excellent, around 6:40 our dessert order was taken, 5 minutes later one of the staff told us the table had to be vacated for 7pm and we would have to have dessert and coffee upstairs. We cancelled dessert and coffee, paid and left. When we booked it would have been a good time to let us know the table was being turned over at 7, when we arrived d it would have been a good time to tell us the table was being turned over at 7, not after dessert was ordered. We go here several times a year, really like it here but on this occasion were disappointed.

We went to The Botanic for New Years Eve, all the staff where fabulous as where the food. Thank you for having us.

An enjoyable evening with flavoursome small plates. However, as on previous visits, some of the small plates could have been hotter; perhaps an investment in hotplates for the tables would overcome this ? Secondly, I felt that the mark-up of £37.50 on the Te Mario sauvignon blanc was excessive (currently retailing around £12).

We are regulars at Botanical Road Kitchen, we always get great service and the food is delicious.

Quiet on a cold December midweek night which surprised me but upside was excellent service. We had a few different plates including tomato garlic bread and pizettes, chorizo, fish tacos, duck spring rolls, baked cheesecake and chocolate mousse. The portions are quite big so I would say order less and you can always add more. It was tasty and freshly prepared but not exceptional. Drinks served in nice glasses which I appreciate.

I recently organised a baby shower at Botanic Road, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The staff were so accommodating, and the venue was stunning inside and out. We had the snug upstairs, which is such a cosy, intimate space—perfect for adding our own special touches and having pre- and post-dinner drinks without being stuck at the table. The little details made it feel so special—fresh flowers in the ice bucket from the staff, and they were so easygoing about us bringing lots of real candles, which isn’t always the case at venues. The food was incredible. My lamb roast was cooked to perfection, and everyone was thrilled with their meals. The staff were amazing, making sure the event flowed exactly how we wanted. Even better, we could have dogs with us, which just added to how lovely the day was. Can’t wait to come back for dinner—or brunch with the dog soon!

Nice atmospheric location overpriced for what you receive however that goes for the food and the drink.

I posted a negative review some weeks ago and was contacted by the owner, who was apologetic, listened and assuring they would respond positively. Having had previously positive experiences and taking them at their word. We went returned and the experience was 'night and day'. On entering, the atmostphere was calm and welcoming. The staff attentive, without being over bearing and the food was a delight. We had wonderful time and will be returning soon; suffice the customer care is second to none. Thank you.

We had to leave early with our order packed into boxes because my husband had a problem, but everyone was so kind and understanding and the food which we ate at home was lovely. We were dining in then became a takeaway!

I don’t mind prices going up but when prices go up and portion sizes go down at the same time it puts people off. Was here Sunday evening and as it approached 8:30ish we felt very uncomfortable by the staff just standing round constantly looking over at the table and clearly wanting to go home. The food was lovely as were the drinks but definitely didn’t seem value for money. Would not return.

As a regular visitor to Botanic Kitchen, have always loved the food and exceptional service. Love the new small plates menu and the introduction of a quality breakfast menu is a welcome addition. Will keep returning to this fab restaurant, which in my opinion is the best in Southport

We haven’t visited this restaurant for a couple of years……the transformation is exciting. We booked Sunday lunch and it was excellent the service from the staff was attentive and caring. We will be returning on a more regular basis

Been here quite a few times in last 2 years. Prices are now very overpriced. Portion sizes on the small plates daylight robbery. 4 inch piece of Hake at £12. Had to send the Beef short rib back as could not cut it. Lots of apologies and deducted a round of drinks as compensation. Staff lovely but won’t be returning. £98 for dinner for two without even a bottle of wine is Michelin prices.

Great setting in Churchtown near to tie Botanic Gardens. Lovely food, great service and very nice decor inside. I had brunch with friends which was all very tasty and there is a good selection on the menu. Highly recommend this place.

Service, food and setting is absolutely perfect for any event. So glad we chose to come here, our night was made extra special with staff who were friendly and attentive. Sadly there was a table with customers who were rude, drunk and prepared to belittle staff. They handled the situation with professionalism and respect. That said we still had a fabulous evening. Thank you ladies!

Both the atmosphere and staff are very welcoming. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very clean. The menu had changed since we booked but it didn’t disappoint with a great variety of options. The portion sizes are good so 3 plates make you contentedly satisfied but not over full. Very friendly staff and excellent service. 👍

We really enjoyed the launch of the new menu last night, the place had an amazing atmosphere considering how dismal the weather was it did not stop people coming out to dine which was fantastic :) From a food point of view we ordered 5 small plates and a side all lovely and hot, well seasoned - I think we were missing a scallop as there were only 2 and the pic shows 3 in a portion but that's my only criticism, otherwise a perfect amount of food for us as we dont like large portions, we finished with desserts which were heavenly I particularly loved the blood orange sorbet it went beautifully with my husbands chocolate mousse ;) Well done to all the staff @botanicroadkitchen, we will return :)

Had a great breakfast following Sunday morning walk with the pooch. Both had a full breakfast with a side of potato hash which was so delicious. Other half said it was the best hash brown he had ever had. Quality of produce was excellent, service was great and atmosphere relaxed. Fantastic that they welcome dogs.

We went for brunch on a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was buzzing, we got a lovely table outside and the service was amazing, they made such a fuss as we had the dog, the person looking after us (think his name was Liam or lewis so sorry my memory is so bad) couldn’t do enough for us thank you. Food was gorgeous really tasty and the serving was generous( we had the full breakfast) all in all a lovely experience would recommend this restaurant 100%

After an afternoon in Botanic gardens enjoying the sun and the brass band, we ventured into Churchtown for a stroll with our dog. We intended to get a Sunday lunch in Southport, but on our way back, we spotted the Botanic Road kitchen. It had a small outside terrace with a free table, ideal for us to sit & eat with our dog, which attracted usxso we ventured in. Having studied the menu, a Sunday lunch (they do these also) appeared a safe and boring choice as there were many diverse and more appealing alternatives, so many that it was difficult to choose. Many of the dishes were of a small "tapas" style that appealed to us as we prefer smaller portions rather than being overrated with overcrowded plates. The very pleasant waitress suggested 3 plates each is the norm but suggested 2 each to begin and add more further along the dining experience as need be. This turned out to be good advice as 2 plates each was more than sufficient to satisfy our hunger. The ambiance on the traditional terrace was relaxed with low, unimposing background music, subtle enough to hear yet not too loud to stifle conversation or to detract from the focus upon the culinary experience, and what an enjoyable experience it turned-out to be. The food was presented exquisitely and tasted delicious. My wife commented that she has never eaten lasagne that tasted so good. In conclusion I have to say that the whole experience was delightful. The Botanic Road Kitchen is a hidden gem that we intend to return to again.

We had our small wedding reception (23 people) at the Botanic Rd Kitchen on 18 July in the upstairs snug space and it was absolutely perfect. Everyone who helped on the day was fantastic and couldn’t do enough to make sure our guests were looked after - the room looked beautiful and the food and service were without exception excellent. We had chosen a variety of small plates such as pancetta croquettes, pizettes and crostinis plus mini boxes of crispy chilli beef and fish and chips which the team brought out in stages during the evening, quietly checking in with us to make sure the timing worked for our guests and circulating to make sure everyone had chance to enjoy each course. And the drinks flowed very efficiently all night which was also much appreciated by all the guests! Our wedding day was relaxed and beautiful, exactly what we hoped for and we would highly recommend the Botanic Road Kitchen for anyone considering a similar event, or for a meal destination. Thank you to the whole team 🙂

I had the best Sunday roast I have had for a long time here! Roast lamb cooked perfectly pink and not fatty at all. Delicious fresh roasties and veg. Had to leave a comment here because it really was a beautiful roast dinner and I would definitely recommend. Oh friendly service too.

Had an amazing lunch at this beautiful restaurant Liam in particular was so welcoming and very friendly and knowledgeable had The small plates which were absolutely delicious and the Aperol Spritz amazing loved it special with my Sister as it would of been my Dads Birthday today. Beautiful food but over-priced!4 small plates & 4 small glasses of wine.....£72!Tried to order more food but the waitress was too busy,by the time she returned we'd settled on a pudding but no Lemon Posset so asked for the bill & left.Also very,very uncomfortable chairs!

Well, to be honest, there’s nothing I could fault here! We had three starter dishes to share between the 2 of us : Padron peppers, cauliflower beignets, and the crab rarebit. All delicious – particularly loved the curried mayonnaise with the cauliflower. Then we had four plates to share: halloumi sliders, the lamb wraps, cod potato and pea purée and the beetroot bahjis . All delicious. My only criticism is it we were completely stuffed and had a bit too much to eat! 😁😂. Final bill for food , wine and coffees was about £62. Will definitely be back, in fact, as we’re going back to Manchester on Sunday, we might call in again before we go. Oops, almost forgot to say that the service was delightful!

I will not return here. From the start the staff were rude and kept emphasizing how we only had 2 hours for the table , and we could order if we ensured we were going to be off the table within 2 hours. We ordered Bloody Mary only to be told there’s no Lea n perrins or Tabasco available. The food was nice but staff completely rude and ignorant and we don’t need to keep getting told the countdown of time we have on the table despite ordering plenty of food and drinks So disappointing for Mother’s Day.

Have just returned from dining here. Although the food was very good myself, wife and daughter ate one at a time as there was at least 5 minutes in between each persons food being brought to the table. I have eaten here many times before but will not be returning.
