Tudor Tavern in Arun

Had a lovely lunch here today , sat outside the front making the most of the mild October air. The sandwiches were amazing on lovely thick fresh granary bread and the homemade coleslaw was excellent. The newly decorated inside looks great and as always all the staff are fabulous. Such a wonderful village pub

Once again we had a fabulous lunch here on Friday 25th October! There were four of us including my elderly Mum who has Dementia and again the staff were very kind and thoughtful towards her. The food was delicious and the Landlady extremely friendly and professional. My husband and I travel down from Surrey to visit my Mum and Brother and will be visiting again very soon! Thank you very much!

This was my second visit and the four showing was amazing. Staff very helpful and hats off to the cheif Did have to wait a while for good but well worth it

We had a lovely lunch for my Mum's 87th Birthday. We arrived a little after 2.30pm but were welcomed and we weren't pushed into deciding what to eat but given time to decide. As my Mum is elderly she doesn't eat too much and so she had a starter for her main meal which wasn't at all a problem. The lady who served us was lovely, she got out a ramp for my Mum as she's in a wheelchair and was very accommodating especially when my Mum said she was feeling chilly by getting her a blanket. The food arrived quickly and was delicious! The waitress was very professional and friendly and couldn't do more to make our visit enjoyable. The waitress who took over towards the end of our meal who was also lovely! We would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be eating there again!

This is a great pub we've had lunch there on two occasions. The food is excellent as is the service. We highly recommend and are keen to try the pub in the evening.

Really really nice pub. The staff are welcoming, the food and drinks are lovely. It's a little more on the pricey side, but I think most pubs are in that bracket now and certainly in the location. Has a really relaxed feel to it and the quiz is great!

Visited the Tudor Tavern for the second time our first visit was drinks only but return a short while later for lunch we had the Hunters chicken that was served a fresh salad with a number of salad items generous sized chicken breast topped with bacon and cheese topped with barbecue sauce the chips are traditional chunky. Inside and outside seating the seating at the rear outside has an enclosed canopy. Very good service. Situated in the heart of the weather.

Just had a Sunday lunch here. Really great roast dinner with choice of beef and turkey on the day. Everything cooked to perfection and fantastic service!

Having recently moved into the area we had walked along the beach and into the village where we came across the Tudor Tavern we called in for drinks having met with a warm welcome we had refreshing wine and a beer that was well received. The food looked good so my next visit will be a meal 2 outside seating areas with a calendar of live music events. Friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

Such friendly service as always at the Tudor Tavern. We had a friends/family birthday lunch for 12 today and the food was fabulous as always. A superb roast dinner with lots of different veg and perfectly cooked. All of the food came out together and was hot and tasty. Superb selection of drinks. This pub is so welcoming and the food is consistently lovely. It’s reasonably priced and the set menu is great plus some lovely looking specials on the board. If you’re looking for a family friendly, proper pub with excellent food, this is it!

Broke up a long beach walk with a drink and meal here , lovely food and exceptional service from the landlady, even making the dog feel looked after with some treats ' we'll definitely be coming back for another visit

Over from Australia visiting Pommie friends and happened on this great pub. Dined here both nights we were here and food really is great and reasonably priced. Friendly service and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Mum and I booked lunch here today. Staff were really friendly and welcoming, the ambience was really lovely and the food was really tasty. Can't believe I haven't visited before. I will be back! Thank you for a lovely lunch.

Popped in to watch the rugby. Decided to stay for the roast. It was so delicious. The potatoes were cooked to perfection. In fact everything was perfect. What lovely serving staff too. This is a lovely pub and we will be back soon. Dogs are welcomed and they even do a dog roast.

From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and the smell of good food and a log fire . The attention on a busy day from staff was excellent and prices were very good , I'd highly recommend this pub barely 200 yards from the sea.

Very disappointing lunch. The food was definitely pile it high — quantity over quality! Who serves bought in Christmas pudding with custard and ice cream on the same plate! No atmosphere especially at Christmas time. Service was haphazard, no one seemed to be in control of the table delivery and orders had to be repeated.

We visited here on a Sunday afternoon. We didn’t have a booking, but the helpful staff found us a table with very little delay. The food was absolutely amazing, one of the best Sunday lunches I have had in ages. They even had a couple of vegan options - I went for the Mediterranean vegetable wellington which was delicious. Desserts were equally good. The staff were attentive and friendly. I will certainly visit again next time I am in the area.

What a lovely welcoming place. All the staff are great. Amazing starter's top quality mains. Was so full up from the meal. So couldn't have a desert lol. Great meal and good service.

We decided to pop in for a drink and a bite of lunch on our way home from a dog walk. We received a very warm welcome and we're given a table by the fire. They took our drinks order straight away whilst we looked over the menu. We all ordered and when the food arrived it was all fresh and came out together. Was pleasantly surprised. Can recommend the the fish finger sandwich, very tasty! The staff were very attentive and we all said how nice it was to find somewhere in the village to eat and relax. Will be visiting again, very soon.

Great well thought out home made menu with something for everyone, (mushroom linguine highly recommended) Friendly welcome, great service throughout our visit and good value for money. Looking forward to returning again soon.

Well, 5of us visited the Tavern on friday 8th of Oct, we went to see an amzing band but then decided to eat, what can l say all 5 of us had different mains, (not expecting much as it was a pub, ) but were we suprised, the food was fresh well presented and we all agreed the food was delicious, really tasty, we will highly recommed The Tudur Tavern the land lady was very welcoming as were the staff , lovely atmosphere, we will definietly be retuning, thank you for a wonderful night, Susan Walsh and friends

Turned up at Tudor Tavern 2 October, having booked a table for 4 over 2 weeks ago, to be told that they had no Chef or staff as they had all gone to Fontwell Ladies Day. The young girl behind the bar said she was on her own and as far as she was aware everyone who had booked had been notified. She turned to the page our booking was on and there we were with a mobile number by the side, but No we had not been notified. Luckily we were able to get into The Highdown, Goring by Sea which was absolutely fantastic with very professional and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Came with friends and family for lunch. Sat in the small rear courtyard which appears to have been modified to offer some shelter (presumably due to covid).Food was nice - I had the burger special. My daughter's order slipped through the net (no biggie - easily done) but as soon as we raised the issue it was dealt with swiftly, with the chef even coming out to apologise, which he didn't need to do. Staff clearly cared, which was nice to see.All in all, definitely recommend. I hope they do something with the courtyard DIY job though. It looks a bit slap-dash and could do with smartening up.

We had lunch at The Tudor Tavern and sat outside at the back of the tavern. The staff very friendly and the service was good. The four different dishes served was very tasty and plentiful. Worthy of a repeat visit very soon

Family of 4 , Just had a fabulous roast beef Sunday dinner. Great value, Yorkshire puddings amazing. Very friendly team of staff especially the lovely young lad serving. Well worth a visit either for a casual drink or food, recommend booking but cater for walk ins too. Dog friendly and right by the beach in East Preston

Food was lovely but service not so good , lots of confusion when ordering. Rugby was on TV snd was extremely loud and intrusive

We were blown in by a gale, to find a lovely welcome in a friendly and tranquil pub. The food was excellent with generous proportions. Service was excellent, humorous and continuing. Toilets very clean. According to our fellow customers - with whom we started chatting, their pies are something to dream of. Too late for our order, but we know what to choose on our next visit.

Great Sunday lunch, yummy crab salad, & good beer. The super helpful staff went above & beyond to assist us with my mum, who uses sticks/a walker to get around. Love the “shabby chic” rear garden seating area - outside but in the shade on a mega hot day (would be good in the wet too).

We were greeted by David; the outstanding chef at the Tudor Tavern. His charismatic and friendly attitude made the whole experience memorable. The burger I ordered was easily the best burger I have ever had. I couldn’t recommend this place enough, thank you to all the staff!

Great atmosphere and a warm welcome. Massive menu choice and large helpings; easily the best Lasagne around. I find the either the food is good and the beer flat or visa versa...not here. Both exceptional.

Just back from a delicious meal at The Tudor Tavern, seafood risotto was splendid as was the steak. Rarely get rare steak rare, most places serve it medium rare at best but this was superb. Friendly, helpful staff and great ambience. Tanya and her team do a great job

Excellent service by all staff and chef. Food was excellent! This was a 60th birthday occasion and the booking was pre arranged in the outside seating area as there were 8 people.

Arrived for a meal last night and were made to feel very welcome by all the staff who obviously enjoy working there. We decided to sit in the rear garden, where heated undercover is provided, and we were shown to our table. The landlady was extremely friendly and chatted to her customers and made sure they were all content.Our meal arrived hot and was delicious. We then went onto have dessert which again was delicious. Service was excellent.Definitely recommend The Tudor Tavern.

Visited with my parents week commencing 14th June, popped in most days for a drink in the delightful garden at the rear of the pub which is a lovely outdoor covered and heated space. Came for a meal on our final night and the food was excellent. The landlords and staff are happy, friendly, polite and so welcoming. I wish we lived closer to come more often or could you just come and open a pub in Windsor please :-)

Poor service, first and last visit! Not made to feel welcome on arrival, garlic mushrooms just one mushroom cut up with garlic butter over it, roast dinner potatoes tasted oily, no cauliflower cheese as stated and yorkshire pudding awful too. On a plus the deserts were the best part of the meal!

Went for dinner at the Tudor Tavern and sat in their fantastic new beer garden with heated wooden booths. Both me and my partner thought the food was a much higher quality than standard pub food and both of our meals were really delicious. There were lots of good options available for vegetarians and the staff were really knowledgable about the menu and able to tell me what dishes were gluten free. All staff members were so friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere of the pub was excellent - we can’t wait for our next visit!

Don't be put off by the flat shop fronted exterior, enter and go through to the back. You'll not escape the warm welcome of the friendly staff. You'll find open sided heated, covid friendly booths in the style of a rustic shack. They seat 5-6, more if they're close friends . Just the atmosphere to rediscover old pals.The menu is great, not an arm and leg job. The chef first class using fresh local ingredients. The team is lead by Tanya the very friendly professional landlady. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Our first meal out since the ease of lockdown. Our our party of four were treated to a great lunch in the newly refurbished seating area in the garden of the Tudor Tavern with heated individual booths, a must have with the temperatures outside at the moment. Tania her daughter and chef couldn’t have been more accommodating and genuinely friendly, catering to all our various nutritional needs as there was one gluten free meal required and a vegetarian. Food and service fabulous will be back, wine served in nice glasses also a plus point. Many thanks.

Maybe we picked a bad night for the chef... our meal was dreadful. The staff however were really nice...such a shame we couldnt say the same about thr food.

Me and a few friends visited the area on the weekend and had lunch here. We were met with excellent customer service and friendly staff. I had chicken stew with rosemary dumplings, and I got to the dumplings were divine! Enjoyed the atmosphere and meal very much. Will visit again if Im ever back in the area! Definitely recommend.

We were walking in this area so stopped off for a pint of cider.We sat outside in the autumn sunshine and felt very safe. Friendly welcome so we had a look at the menu. Plenty of variety. Home cooked with vegan and vegetarian options...not the usual out of the freezer stuff either.We ordered a fish sandwich and bowl of chips which was freshly cooked and very tasty. Shame on the 4 people who arrived and ordered 4 packets of crisps and drinks, then proceeded to sit and eat the sandwiches they had brought with them! Our pubs need the help they can get right now!!I definitely recommend a visit to the Tudor Tavern. Try the food too.

We were staying locally and this pub was nearby. Lots of seating out front, inside and rear garden. Very welcoming and good prices. It was great to find a pub that serves proper home cooked food. Good selection of vegetarian options. Dog friendly.

Last night we had a Take-Away supper from TheTudor Tavern and it was simply outstanding. AND it was delivered to our door at exactly the time we had specified. We had Gammon which was melt-in-the-mouth; Chips which were crispy and gorgeous and it came with two beautifully fried eggs with runny yolks!. My husband's only comment was 'next time I will have a child's portion'! I won't!

Booked here due to finding it difficult to get a booking in some restaurants closer to home and definitely wasnt disappointed. Food was really lovely, typical pub food but nice, and the pie was amazing. Really friendly landlady who made it a lovely experience. Will definitely return.

Visited 31.07.2020 for the first time. Food was excellent, well priced and varied. The landlady and other staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Toilets, tables etc all cleaned to a high standard. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

We stayed in East Preston for the weekend and ate here both nights. The food was very tasty ... with a good menu and daily specials ... and the service was excellent. Friendly, welcoming staff with dog treats for our canine friends. Would definitely recommend this place 100%.

Despite living in the area for many years we'd never visited the Tudor Tavern until yesterday. It won't be our last visit as the food was great. Perfect roast beef and the best horseradish sauce I can remember eating. Pleasant, friendly staff and a decent amount of customers make it a nice place to be. The best option for a sunday roast in the area.

Thought we'd try popping in for lunch and turned out to be a very good idea. Under new management who are making a real effort with the place and with customers. Plenty of benches outside, and the interior is very well decorated - light and airy with some very nice touches - a nice place to be. Two choices of pump ales on when we visited - perfect pints of pride and dark Star. Good proper pub menu with a range of reasonably priced dishes (and a number of specials) food was good - perfectly cooked steak, sausage and mash, scampi, gammon - all very tasty. Would Def recommend a visit here - ticks all the boxes for a good pub. Dog friendly to boot!

We went for Sunday Lunch on 9th Feb and what a great experience, service was excellent and food standards high. The new Landlady is doing a great job at changing the reputation of this now food and entertainment pub. Real competition for the surrounding establishments. Worth a try, I don’t think you will be disappointed. Oh and by the way she keeps a good cellar, so the bitter was very drinkable. If you fancy a mid week evening out they have been offering some discounts call in and check it out.

Well done Fuller’s for having such a welcoming landlady and all her staff in the Tudor Tavern. Having arranged to meet friends there for the first time to eat I was a little nervous as some reviews were awful on trip advisor BUT they were actually posted YEARS AGO,way way before Tanya and her team moved in and changed things radically. Lovely open fire,good food two opted for the traditional Sunday roast,two of us had the swordfish,all freshly cooked,and tasted great.

What a wonderful night. Sat down at 6.30, 14 of us from work. The prawn and salmon parcel starter was simply amazing. Not being a smoked salmon fan I was nervous but it was superb. Main was the beef, and what a plate of food. Perfect beef, yorkie and potatoes. Hey I'm Male so veg was the only if have space but again excellent. Portions so big I couldn't eat dessert but when the other had theirs all look equally great. 8.30 pm the band came on and again great music. This is a local gem people need to find.

It’s a lovely pub, not long been refurbished to a good standard, we got our starters which were all really nice, so looking forward to our mains which were all a total disappointment, the roast beef was tough the veg must of been cooked the day before and reheated, the veg option was more rice cake than nut roast, the desserts were a mixture of good and bad the cheesecake couldn’t be deciphered as what fruit it was and the coffee finally no one enjoyed it as far too strong maybe serve with cream rather than milk

We dropped in for lunch and were made very welcome by Tanya and her Staff. It was warm and cosy and we felt very comfortable. For lunch we had the Chef's Special which was Mexican Chilli Chicken. Delicious!!It was a good experience and we'll be sure to make a return visit next time we're in the area.

Unexpected find, a nice team and an open fire made for a very relaxed early evening meal. Will be trying the Sunday lunch soon

I had the broccoli and stilton soup for starter, and chilli con carne for main, absolutley delicious, and such a lovely service, real friendly staff. Food was amazing, very much coming back :)

I cannot fault the service and attitude in this lovely pub. We went in hungry and I was feeling a bit under the weather with a condition I have which made me feel cold and one of the staff overheard that I was cold, disappeared and reappeared with a clean blanket and put it around my shoulders. The food was lovely, we all had fish and chips which surprisingly came with fresh steamed peas and homemade tartar sauce which was delicious. Generous portions throughout. I also noticed the children’s menu which looked a good selection with fun names

New owner has invested a lot of time, effort and money in making The Tudor Tavern a great place to drink and eat. Good food, good value for money and great service. Genuinely dog friendly

Well what can I say. Clean, friendly staff, super ales, near the beach and the best steak and stilton pie ever.

Came on Saturday with 3 of us, lovely little pub no car park but loads of spaces on the same Road. We all had different one opting for the lamb shank which was on the specials board apparently very tasty and home made mince sauce too was a treat. The good thing is alot of the menu you can have a small plate or large, example £7.99 for small and £11 for large, perfect for those of us who struggle with big portions. Home made Lasagne lovely and nice chips. Peroni on tap tasty crisp and lively. There is a new owner, she is very friendly and is always available for help. Add to this a lovely newly decorated pub (toilets extremely clean, glad to see hand towels rather then a hand dryer too) We will be coming back, wishing the new owner lots of luck

Have been here twice now in two weeks, a lovely walk along the seafront from Rustington to come here.1st visit, amazing food, great service and couldn’t wait to come back. 2nd visit today, was also amazing service and a lovely choice of specials and food menu. My only gripe is, I ordered the fish sandwich because my son two weeks ago had this and it looked and tasted amazing, served on toasted ciabatta bread, however mine today was served on plain wholemeal sandwich bread and was a little greasy.However, husband and son thoroughly enjoyed their burgers.It will not put me of coming back though, really lovely owners, great staff, fab renovation, huge portions, and pricing is fair!! It is so nice to know we have a new family friendly local within a 20 minute walk along the seafront.See you soon.

Visited with family on Weds lunchtime after taking dog to nearby beach. Had a super welcome from friendly landlady. Really modern interior which is immaculate and lovely outside space. Dog friendly both inside and out in the garden. Ordered food and all four meals were amazing. I can thoroughly recommend the steak and ale pie with mash and kale and the Mediterranean tart which were delicious! Staff were very attentive! Can't wait to visit again with family to experience great friendly atmosphere, service and food once again. Entertainment nights sound fab too!!

We have just eaten the most fabulous Sunday Roast Beef with a dessert of Sticky Toffee pudding and ice cream! Would highly recommend. The service, staff and food are really lovely and all for a very good price. About time somewhere in east preston served a Sunday Roast with a smile.

What a wonderful little pub near the beach.my son has celiac disease and it was brilliant that they could cater a hot meal of ham egg and chips for him.we loved sitting outside under the umbrellas and Tanya and staff made us feel very welcome. A lovely little gem very family and dog friendly we will definitely return soon.

Great to see the Tudor Tavern fully re-opened under new management. Excellent food and a friendly welcome from Tanya and the staff. Lots of new outdoor seating and ideal location for lunches near the beach.

Drank here every evening during our 3 nights staying in East Preston. Service was excellent as was the setting. Lovely beer garden and the interior has a great feel to it. Great to sit out on the front and watch the world go by. Will be back when next in the area! Thank you! X

Been to visit the tudor a few times and i cant fault them, the food is beautifully presented and it was so tasty, the staff are really friendly and helpful, as its a pub i was suprised as they do table service which i thought was a really switch up as most pubs you have to go the bar, will definitely be revisiting here

Tried out the roasts and did not disappoint... good refurbishment and friendly and helpful team (if on the young side and lacking experience ) but go out of the way to help make the meal a success. Great wine list and very reasonable pricing. Will definitely be back

Me and my husband had never been in the tudor tavern but we will definitely be going back again, the food was to die for it was lovely and the staff were fantastic making sure everything was OK, very friendly and welcoming. Lovely lovely place.

Recently refurbished with excellent decor. Food to die for (unbelievable pastry). Well presented by pleasant staff and prices were not outrageous

Went there with my family as it has been been refurbished and has new owners, was a delightful visit. Staff was very polite and friendly and new owners are very welcoming. They have started doing food and it was delicious.

We hadn't been in the Tudor before we just stumbled in while out walking and what a nice surprise. Nicely decorated and a good menu along with a warm welcome. The food was really nice and catered for us non meat eaters and even had a vegan option. We will be going back.

The Tudor Tavern has undergone a refurbishment, freshening the entire pub, restaurant and kitchen.

The obviously new refurbishment means there’s not a great deal of character to the place and on a Monday at lunchtime, nobody there but us. Still, the staff were very helpful when we asked about walking on to Littlehampton and the beer is well kept and if you’re walking along the coast as we were its definitely worth finding. I believe that food will be served once the refurbishment is complete although there were no signs of menus when we were there

I'm not sure where the last review came from. I have lived in the village for 6 years and this has always been my regular. I have NEVER seen any violence here and actually the general age for the pub is over 40, there are very few youngsters and if they even look like they may step out of line the manager deals with it professionally. The pub is often quiet week days but safe and welcoming. It is a shame that there are lots of negatives on this due to Village politics..

Popped into this pub on a sunny Sunday afternoon after a pleasant walk and enjoyed a nice pint of London Pride. Excellent service from a chatty well presented barmaid.

I've come to this pub several times.i can only speak as how I've felt and feel the staff are very friendly and welcome people.i prefer this pub to the dragon and the lamb in Rustington.i will defentley be going back as its a lovely pub with great staff.cant say about the food as never tried it.

I liked the Tudor Tavern interior, it reminded me of Dartington Hall in Devon. The staff were pleasant, but lacked passion. My wife was happy enough with her meal, but I had an upset tummy for a few hours afterwards.

Will return to eat but had a nice bottle of wine in the well maintained patio garden. Staff were very pleasant too

Fuimos a este pub para ver un partido de fútbol. No era el bar más cómodas en las que he estado. Había una bonita zona al aire libre si fumaba. Me pareció que el precio de una pinta era más caro que otros establecimientos pero aceptadas porque el pub tenía sky sports.

He estado en este pub en muchas ocasiones en los últimos años y es gradualmente ido cuesta abajo y parece que está ahora en la parte inferior de la colina. No me hizo sentir como en casa. De hecho, me pareció que yo no era bienvenido en allí. El encargado no tenía tiempo para charlar porque él estaba jugando al póker en su laptop. Solo una persona allí en el momento de mi visita corta. El bar estaba sucia y pegajosa. La alfombra no le vendría mal una limpia. No es un lugar muy agradable para tomar algo. No volveremos.

He usado para beber en aquí a menudo con un amigo de la zona, pero el sitio tenía gradualmente se tornan cada vez menos activo, con menos gente en el bar y en la sala de estar principal, que habían dado a una mesa de billar, y un par de mesas cerca de la ventana. Si no las ideas de la piscina del pueblo extravagantes rondan sobre usted, está la zona de jardín, que es sólo una opción realista en la primavera y el verano tardío. El personal del bar son en su mayoría servicial, pero el encargado no es muy acogedor y te hacen sentir como una molestia si quieres una bebida. No creo que muchos lugareños ir allí, ya que el pub sobre las carreteras siempre parece ocupado en comparación, no hay ambiente y no había ningún lugar para sentarse, aparte del bar principal.

Cant believe what has happened to this pub, used to be a great place to party! No atmosphere, bad lighting, expensive and a really unfriendly landlord. Will not be going again. Bad form Fullers.

I've given this pub a few tries over the years but always the same result - a few locals hanging around the bar, pretty indifferent service and expensive beer.Someone told me that it gets busy when there's a big sporting event on TV but I've never seen that. Saw a few people playing poker once but I do wonder how it keeps going when there are better pubs nearby.
