Visited with family and will definitely be visiting again. Great atmosphere and fantastic food. Staff are fantastic and the landlady I think called sue is very welcoming and is truly lovely. Thank you so much for such a great experience

horrible i would say not autism friendly music was so loud and it was rave music and my 10 year old cousin had her birthday tomorrow so we came here for meal and didn’t tell anyone the kitchen closes at 6 and it’s 5:45 hadn’t shut yet but said they shut kitchen down already so can only do pizza when my cousin is autistic and don’t like pizza and she wanted cheese and chips which is easier to cook than pizza so i wouldn’t go here again and loads people/adults being loud and having party’s so don’t go

As part of a recent business trip, our team visited The Tuck & Tanner for a relaxed evening meal and informal meeting. The pub offered a warm, welcoming environment with plenty of seating and a good balance between comfort and atmosphere. The menu featured a solid variety of classic dishes, and the food was well-prepared and promptly served. Staff were courteous and efficient (Gus & Demi ), making the experience smooth and enjoyable. With a good selection of drinks and a laid-back setting, The Tuck & Tanner proved to be a great choice for casual business discussions outside the office.

Came in for lunch with the family was greeted with a smile from Gus Demi and Abbie food was great and service was outstanding

Absolutely lovely food for everyone here, especially people who need gluten free food.

First time visiting today and by far the best carvery I've ever had. We had a large table booking and we all agreed. Will be going again, really impressed!

Booked for mothers day, family came up from out of town just for them to cancel the booking 20 minutes before because they were fully booked. They blamed it on their system. Disgusting plans ruined.

Maria was an amazing atmosphere to the company, nothing but polite and welcoming in the pub! Wouldn’t recommend Maria enough Thankyou!

We went for my mother's 60th birthday, a party of about 8.booked a table for 6pm. Upon arrival we where shown to our table and then everything went downhill. Service at the bar was very slow, and the bar staff didn't have a good knowledge of what they actually sold. There was a group of about 12 patrons that where so drunk they where all slurring their words and being really loud and lairy, swearing, squaring up to each other and just generally being rude and vulgar. It made it very difficult to actually have a conversation with the person sat next to us at the table, literally had to shout just so the person sat two feet away could hear me. Food wasn't great, cold and expensive for what it actually was. Waiting almost an hour for it as well. Just generally not a good pub for a nice quiet meal, which ultimately ruined my mother's 60th birthday.

Went to meet a friend for dinner and a chat. The staff on were really friendly and welcoming and I cannot fault the service.

Easy to use booking service, friendly welcoming staff, happy to help with the special dietary requirements for one of the party and the quality of the carvery dinner was excellent - definitely great value for money and will be coming back for more

Disappointing, I had the cowboy burger for £12 and it came out like a kids meal with meager portion of chips and the misses had the sausage and Mash, she said sausages were nice but the mash potatoes were instant Mash!? Like wtf! Not coming back!

Popped down Sunday, quite possibly the greatest carvery I've ever had. Everything was so fresh and tasty. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Amazing service from our bar hosts, Sue and Gus. The chefs Terry, Ricky and Ollie have done the place proud and our waiter, Jacob gave us brilliant service, very accommodating, nothing was too much for him to handle. Will definitely be back!

The Tuck and Tanner continues to be a top-grade public house. The Landlady and each and every one of her staff are always kind and helpful, and keep the house in spotless condition. The food is always perfectly, freshly cooked and hot. All in all an outing to the "T & T" is always a pleasurable experience.

Excellent carvery! Plenty of meat, lovely veg and the extra tarragon beef and dumpling stew is a delicious bonus. My wife is veggie and her spinach tart was excellent too. Service from Jacob and Mollie was great too.

Had a carvery on a Sunday and it was awful. The Yorkshires were hard and dripping in fat and the veg looked like it was there for hours and it was onky 1.15 It didn't taste great either. I would never have a carvery here again.

My husband and I often come here with our grandparents, as it's local. We always love the Calvary. The service here is great and the servers are always so helpful. During our most recent visit we noticed the staff were rushed off their feet. A server explained that some staff were unfortunately off sick, hence the rushing about and slower service. We're grateful that he explained it to us and we highly anticipate our next visit. This is our family favourite for our family meals now. Keep up the great work! The food is delicious!

Went for Xmas lunch and waited 2 hours to be told they’re behind and that was all the notifications we got… eventually when we were told food was ready, everything was cold.. ruined Xmas day .. think they took on more than they could handle.. an offer of a reduced rate for the inconvenience would of helped but not even an apology.. never setting foot in there again and neither will any of my family.

Never had a bad meal here. Been coming for years with the family for food and it’s always delicious and the service is always 5 star! We had the festive set menu to celebrate a family birthday yesterday and everything was amazing, from the welcome and drinks at the bar from Sue, Abbey and Tina, to the attention to detail from the chefs Ricky, Rei and Terri, the food looked as beautiful as it tasted! And also Jacob our runner who was so attentive making sure we had everything we needed. Thank you all so much!

THIS IS THE 2nd TIME WE AS A WORKS CHRISTMAS LUNCH BEEN HERE. ITS WONDERFUL. FOOD WAS GREAT AND SERVED SWIFTLY, HUGE PORTIONS AT THAT.JACOB WASNT WORKING BUT HE HELPED ANOTHER WORKER RHIANNON MOVE OUR TABLES TOGETHER SO IT WAS ONE LONG ONE FOR 16 PEOPLE INSTEAD OF TWO SEPARATE ONES WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED A DIVIDE WHICH WE DIDNT WANT.ABIT OF MESSING AROUND FOR THEM BUT THEY DID IT VERY HAPPILY FOR US. LOVELY MARIA SERVED US DRINKS AT THE BAR. THE BIGGY WAS THE LOVELY CLEANER WHOS NAME I DNT KNOW, WELL SHE SERVED ALL OUR MEALS( not even her job role )VERY EFFICIENTLY AND WITH A SMILE ON HER FACE AND A GIGGLE OR TWO. ITS A GIVEN WE WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE NEXT YEAR 2025🎅🏻

I came for the festive menu . The food was AMAZING . The food came out promptly and the main came out on a hot plate . The service was good and all the staff was friendly . I would highly recommend the festive menu

Good food, good place for kids to play comfy place to sit and eat. Staff were very accommodating.

What can I say about the Tuc and Tanner top valley,I've been been for Sunday lunch with my wife and little boy and from start to finish the experience was amazing,. From the bar big thanks to Sue ,Rhiannon and Abbie customer service was amazing very welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. When our food arrived Ryan and jacko came to see if everything was ok and if we needed anything just to ask 👍👍 Outstanding food yet again from the Chef team Ricky ,Ollie and Terry outstanding,fresh well presented and there customer care was excellent well done boys your food was excellent.

My family loves to come here for meals. Not had a disappointing meal yet! They have the best by far Sunday carvery. There may not be as much choice of veg as some places but the selection they do have is piping hot and tasty and filling. The staff are always helpful and friendly and attentive to your needs/requests.

The tables were so sticky the menus stuck to them. Not just ours, all the ones we tried. I have to say it was the worst steak I've ever had ..I know you get what you pay for, but I do expect to be able to eat it. Hoping the dogs might enjoy it! In response...we were asked if our food was ok, we said it wasn't...the waitress returned from the kitchen and said "there's nothing we can do, the chef said it's the quality of the meat he has to cook". I said it wasn't even possible to cut the meat... We eventually got a replacement steak...it wasn't cooked to medium and wasn't much better than the first. So in terms of high standards you set...might be worth training staff not to say "well it's not my fault". Safe to say we won't return. The drinks were also expensive.. nearly £6 a pint. That's expensive considering it's not even in town.

Food was quick to come out and all tasted like great pub food. The bar staff took a while to greet us, but it was only one person at first. Jacob delivered our food with a smile, helped us with some extra sauce , and was friendly and polite throughout. The menu used to have a few more vegan options like a burger. It would great if they brought this back.

We had the beef lasagna and mixed grill here, and both were fantastic! The lasagna was rich and flavorful, while the mixed grill was perfectly cooked with a great variety of meats. The portions were generous, and the staff were friendly and attentive. A perfect spot for a satisfying meal. I'll definitely be returning!
