Had a carvery on a Sunday and it was awful. The Yorkshires were hard and dripping in fat and the veg looked like it was there for hours and it was onky 1.15 It didn't taste great either. I would never have a carvery here again.

My husband and I often come here with our grandparents, as it's local. We always love the Calvary. The service here is great and the servers are always so helpful. During our most recent visit we noticed the staff were rushed off their feet. A server explained that some staff were unfortunately off sick, hence the rushing about and slower service. We're grateful that he explained it to us and we highly anticipate our next visit. This is our family favourite for our family meals now. Keep up the great work! The food is delicious!

Went for Xmas lunch and waited 2 hours to be told they’re behind and that was all the notifications we got… eventually when we were told food was ready, everything was cold.. ruined Xmas day .. think they took on more than they could handle.. an offer of a reduced rate for the inconvenience would of helped but not even an apology.. never setting foot in there again and neither will any of my family.

Never had a bad meal here. Been coming for years with the family for food and it’s always delicious and the service is always 5 star! We had the festive set menu to celebrate a family birthday yesterday and everything was amazing, from the welcome and drinks at the bar from Sue, Abbey and Tina, to the attention to detail from the chefs Ricky, Rei and Terri, the food looked as beautiful as it tasted! And also Jacob our runner who was so attentive making sure we had everything we needed. Thank you all so much!

FOOD WAS GREAT AND SERVED SWIFTLY, HUGE PORTIONS AT THAT.JACOB WASNT WORKING BUT HE HELPED ANOTHER WORKER RHIANNON MOVE OUR TABLES TOGETHER SO IT WAS ONE LONG ONE FOR 16 PEOPLE INSTEAD OF TWO SEPARATE ONES WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED A DIVIDE WHICH WE DIDNT WANT.ABIT OF MESSING AROUND FOR THEM BUT THEY DID IT VERY HAPPILY FOR US. LOVELY MARIA SERVED US DRINKS AT THE BAR. THE BIGGY WAS THE LOVELY CLEANER WHOS NAME I DNT KNOW, WELL SHE SERVED ALL OUR MEALS( not even her job role )VERY EFFICIENTLY AND WITH A SMILE ON HER FACE AND A GIGGLE OR TWO. I came for the festive menu . The food was AMAZING . The food came out promptly and the main came out on a hot plate . The service was good and all the staff was friendly . I would highly recommend the festive menu

What can I say about the Tuc and Tanner top valley,I've been been for Sunday lunch with my wife and little boy and from start to finish the experience was amazing,. From the bar big thanks to Sue ,Rhiannon and Abbie customer service was amazing very welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. When our food arrived Ryan and jacko came to see if everything was ok and if we needed anything just to ask 👍👍 Outstanding food yet again from the Chef team Ricky ,Ollie and Terry outstanding,fresh well presented and there customer care was excellent well done boys your food was excellent.

My family loves to come here for meals. Not had a disappointing meal yet! They have the best by far Sunday carvery. There may not be as much choice of veg as some places but the selection they do have is piping hot and tasty and filling. The staff are always helpful and friendly and attentive to your needs/requests.

The tables were so sticky the menus stuck to them. Not just ours, all the ones we tried. I have to say it was the worst steak I've ever had ..I know you get what you pay for, but I do expect to be able to eat it. Hoping the dogs might enjoy it! In response...we were asked if our food was ok, we said it wasn't...the waitress returned from the kitchen and said "there's nothing we can do, the chef said it's the quality of the meat he has to cook". I said it wasn't even possible to cut the meat... We eventually got a replacement steak...it wasn't cooked to medium and wasn't much better than the first. So in terms of high standards you set...might be worth training staff not to say "well it's not my fault". Safe to say we won't return. The drinks were also expensive.. nearly £6 a pint. That's expensive considering it's not even in town.

Food is shit and expensive. £3 for 4 pieces of a 30p french baguette from Tesco as garlic bread. Service is very quick. Get in get out sort of place.

Food was quick to come out and all tasted like great pub food. The bar staff took a while to greet us, but it was only one person at first. Jacob delivered our food with a smile, helped us with some extra sauce , and was friendly and polite throughout. The menu used to have a few more vegan options like a burger. It would great if they brought this back.

We had the beef lasagna and mixed grill here, and both were fantastic! The lasagna was rich and flavorful, while the mixed grill was perfectly cooked with a great variety of meats. The portions were generous, and the staff were friendly and attentive. A perfect spot for a satisfying meal. I'll definitely be returning!

Fast efficient service, servings were big, we had nachos to share, plenty for 2 lots of toppings, 8oz steak could how requested and ultimate burger, food was hot and arrived quickly after ordering, staff were friendly and welcoming, would come again, also got 20% off with club card which was a bonus, thanks Maria, Ryan, Lewis and Ollie

Unfortunately this place staff are far to slow. I ordered starter and main came 1st and then seconds later the starter and the starter was a prawn cocktail no cooking involved. On finishing our food grandkids want a pudding after ordering waited over hour this was cancelled not getting any better + no app to order food to the table no it’s not in Bulwell it’s in top valley next to Tesco clues in the name Your address is not Bulwell top of the hill gives a big clue

Excellent service from Mollie, Brodie, Anna and Lewis in the kitchen. Fast service with lots of help when needing to tweak a few things on orders, instantly helped carry drinks to the table for me as I had loads to carry and use a walking stick!! Also was quick to help add a extra table for 2 extra guests Food was lovely and everyone pretty much got all their orders at same time, helped take care of birthday cake too and bought it out for us, pub is always tidy on visit and greated with lots of happy faces. We love our local and always come back Thank you for giving us another great day !!

Been here before and keep returning. Excellent food, excellent bar staff, Adam very friendly and you can have a laugh with him. Very attentive waitress, young girl bless her who did a great job. I think her name was Mollie. She was so polite. Tesco is 30 seconds away to go to if you've forgotten any last-minute shopping... what's not to like!

The best carvery I've ever had out. Beef was cooked perfect, very tender. There was also beef dumplings as an option that was very tempting! My partner had the turkey and gammon and said they were perfect. Staff were lovely start to finish, and we were seated near the kids area, ideal since we had the kids! The whole place is spacious and light. I'm already looking at book for Christmas. It was about £12 for a large carvery each - 2 meats and 2 yorkshires

Popped in for a meal with the fam. We could sit away from the Saturday evening hubbub in a side room as one of usbis autistic. We were treated very well, and the food delicious.

This was our first time and we were encouraged to go because we received some money off vouchers. We our usually every Thursday to different pubs for a quite meal and chat with a friend. Unfortunately this pub is very noisy because the dining area and the drinking area are together and although the food was quite good, the dining experience was quite uncomfortable because of all the noise. It also did have a cosy feeling to it either so we will be unlikely to go there again to eat.

Tried the carvery. It was the best Sunday carvery we have had for a while. Everything was piping hot and tasted delicious, and we all cleared our plates. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

It's about 18 months since I wrote a review about the "Tuck and Tanner". It continues to be an exemplary local pub, and is a credit to the landlady and all her staff; since the Pandemic, life has not been easy for her profession, so all strenghth to her to continue. Of course, since my last review, Marston's Brewery has changed hands. Carlsberg would be well advised to look into the menu offering they make available to the "Tuck and Tanner". An upgrade is warranted; all the staff deserve to be recognised by the Brewery as a higher grade house.

After a day's shopping with mother. She fancied a Steak!! 'know mum', let's try Sue's new pub. Arrived to a nice clean place, nice atmosphere and the staff gave lots of hospitality. Our meals were more than lovely with extra mash potatoes on the side. Will definitely recommend.. 👌🏾

Very relaxed atmosphere with lovely friendly staff. Behind the bar was Pheobe, Brodick and Maria and they were more than helpful to help us with anything. We had to send a fish back as it was a little dry but they quickly brought us a fresh one which absolutely lovely! Jacob was also a great help and served us with such politeness
