Nicholson's Bar and Diner in Nottingham

Visited in February 2015. Busy and crowded pub with a decent selection of cask and keg brews. I only had one pint because I didn’t want to stand while drinking. Might visit again.

Nice pub Good selection of beer

A typical English pub with atmosphere and craft beer. We took shelter here from the rain. The weather explains why there are so many pubs on this beautiful land. The theory was confirmed by a very nice bartender. The guy, an Englishman from Manchester, was telling us in poor Polish what a "chip with milk" tastes like. They serve food on the first floor.

We went there for lunch and they were extremely slow! Normal quality and very watered down coffee.

The pies were delicious and Mark and his team were all very friendly and attentive. This was our second visit and we’ll definitely be back in the Summer! 🥧🥧🥧

Perhaps terrible luck, but three times I asked for different plates and three times they came back to tell me they didn't have it right now.

Nice traditional pub, liked that the dining room was separate upstairs as quieter. Friendly staff and really good food especially the pies, only negative was a bit overpriced.

Waiting for food is way too long, over one hour, tables before us got served before, have to stop waitress to ask for drink, staff is not looking after customers, later after 70 minutes half of the table got the food and the other half was still waiting

Food was good. Highly recommend the Nicholson Burger. Would definitely return next time I am in the area.

Μια παραδοσιακή παμπ! Φάγαμε στον επάνω όροφο που είναι πολύ ωραία διακοσμημένος! Φάγαμε fish and chips και ήταν πεντανόστιμα! Το προσωπικό εξαιρετικό, τα κορίτσια ήταν φιλικά και εξυπηρετικα! Μείον οι τουαλέτες.

My husband ordered a traditional dish in London fish and chips and I choose a beef pie, the menu brought the advertisement about their famous pies ... and yes it was absolutely delicious.

I had a fantastic birthday celebration this Saturday at the York, Clare and her excellent team provided a spectacular afternoon, my friends from up and down the country said they loved the atmosphere of the pub immediately as you enter, they conveyed to me and also to Clare how they thought the service and food was fantastic. I recommend this to anyone wanting to celebrate any occasion. Phil

8 of us arrived at about 12:15 and told to sit downstairs. For some lunch & drinks. We ordered our food. That didn't arrive for over an hour? One was a salad?There was nobody in the pub. Service very slow. The staff seemed to be disgruntled. The only good thing was Madri beer. We won't be coming out

La serveuse n’était vraiment pas agréable , la nourriture non plus , le poulet trop cuit, la salade à l’avocat sans avocat ! La salade avec du riz brun dans riz brun ! La cuisine une vraie blague !!! Cependant le lieu est sympa pour boire un verre

Had to clean our own table.... Staff that was more busy with their phones than attending to guests. Toilets were so dirty you wouldn't let a homeless person visit there....

First time here. Just happened across it on way to theater. Great pub! Great beer! Great atmosphere! My wife and I were in London for one day and wanted fish and chips and they did not disappoint.

The place and the food are great here. I stopped by during my trip in London last week. The guy and her colleague( Lucy I think, very cute by the way) were great and funny. Definitely a place to go.

Delicious ethnic British food. Seems like a hidden gem above another restaurant. We got the Landlords platter appetizer and some fish pies. Everything had a ton of flavor. Great and attentive service. We were put in kind of a cramped and tiny table in the corner, but that's just the layout of the building. The restaurant itself has a great small homey vibe.

Great experience! The pub is authentic and give you a good time with family and friends! We arrived without any booking but was 2pm on Monday bank holiday! The food was great and so where the drinks! Was good to see also a variety of no alcoholic beers 🍻!! The menù has what you would expect from a pub with also a well indication allergies and vegan/vegetarian options. There are seats upstairs as well in a quiet area that can be reserved for particular events! Everything was clean (including the toilets) 👍

Super leckeres, authentisches Essen und gutes Bier. Der Mitarbeiter im Service war alleine, obwohl der Laden voll war, was zu längeren Wartezeiten geführt hat - er war aber trotz des Stresses sehr freundlich.

I nostri hamburger hanno fatto il giro del pub quando sono arrivati al tavolo erano freddi abbiamo chiesto di rifarceli ma loro i camerieri ridendo c’è li hanno riscaldati e riportati con gli hamburger secchi/ stracotti 16 sterline e ci hanno preso in giro. Quindi se venite qui chiedere lì hamburger al sangue ma se non venite è meglio

It’s a very quaint and charming upstairs dining room. The service folks are lovely and the food was absolutely amazing!!! Order the chicken schnitzel, one of the best I’ve had and the fish and chips were also great.

Do not order salmon and dill fish cakes. Absolutely disgusting hard crusted tiny balls that were hollow inside and tasteless. Said it was served with herded baby potatoes, but it was regular boiled potatoes squashed with not any herbs! Only 2 golf ball sized inedible. Could have played golf with these.

Asked where to great the best Fish and Chips in Windsor, was told The Carpenter Arms Pub. They were amazing fresh flaky and hot. Staff and bosses where very friendly and checked on us. Great location too. Right next to castle.. We love London

Just visited the Pub for a lunchtime drink and a bite to eat. The welcome and service we're first class. When I went to the bar I was greeted by a very friendly polite & professional bar person called AJ. She talked me through all of the beers available and helped me decide on my purchase.. we have been In London for the weekend and have had some awful service. AJ you have restored my faith in the Service industry. You should get a job training bar staff on customer service Well done.

Coole Bar, sehr angenehm für einen kleinen Drink. War nicht so überfüllt wie die meisten Bars in London.

Only had reduced fat milk to make a latte, however it was well made. Would have prefered whole milk "full fat". The mac and cheese balls were *good* but I think I should have ordered the bowl of mac and cheese for a better experience. The batter/crumbs on the balls just seemed like too much breading although the mac and cheese inside was awesome. Next time I would order the mac and cheese entrée. They have a convenient location right outside the London Bridge tunnel stop, and just outside is a great view of the Thames and easy access to the Uber boat ride (do this!)

de plaats is erg mooi, typisch voor Londen, maar ik hield niet van de keuken, de hamburg was niet goed gekookt, de vis had geen smaak.Het enige goede was bier. the place is very nice, typical for london, but i didn't like the cuisine, the hamburg was not cooked well, the fish had no taste.The only good thing was beer.

It was our first day at London, cold and windy weather. We've got it and ate two really good English pies finishing it with a tea pot. It was really good and warming. I recommend chicken portobello pie.

Awful service. One barmaid went to change a barrel. The other one stood and talked to couple stood at bar and offered no service at all. When she finally did serve my friend no friendliness at all. Clearly reserved for her friends/locals who came in just before and just after us. Food arrived quickly and was ok tho.

The macaroni cheese was great but most of all, I loved their garlic bread!!

Rubbish! The staff is very unfriendly and rudde, the toilets are dirty, the tea and the food are mediocre... Not to mention the cutlery that has lispstick stains on it!!! To avoid!!!

We stayed in the Hilton on bank holiday weekend and we had breakfast included in the Bric. The service was amazing, all the staff were so friendly and chatty. The food was lovely, quick and definitely set us up for the day! On the Sunday, they were clearly really busy and the service was still great and staff still so friendly. Would definitely come back in the future, thankyou.

Nous commandons un simple fish and chips , jusque là rien de bien compliqué... Jusqu'à ce que la serveuse soit très désagréable et nous manque de respect sous prétexte que l'on ne comprenne pas sa question dans les 5secondes qui suivent, a laquelle nous ne pouvions nous attendre en commandant un banal fish and chips : si nous désirons des crevettes fries avec.... Elle nous a totalement manqué de respect , cette jeune femme petite et brune avec une queue de cheval devrait changer de métier ou d'employeur car elle nuie à votre restaurant et votre image.

I had a think about whether to review the food is it is only a pub but thinking about the £68 bill I was convinced to write one. Food very disappointing Pork belly was smelly, very fatty and very bland. Unfortunately I did not take a picture but the food had zero effort in it. Sorry to say this is a 1 for the food and not worth the money paid. Pork belly dish - £15 (for this quality should really be approx £8-9 and that is only because of location) If I was a host I would not serve this dish to Guests let alone ask for payment. Try harder please.

Typischer Londoner Pub mit super Bier. Auch das Essen war lecker. Den Cider (Apfelwein) solltet ihr mal probieren wenn ihr hier seid. Ist nicht jedermanns Geschmack, aber meiner Frau hat es sehr gut geschmeckt.

2/3 sándwiches estaban bien. Eso es todo lo positivo que tengo que decir sobre nuestra visita. Les llevó más de 30 minutos preparar un plato con sándwiches y pastel. El personal era generalmente antipático y se quedaba sin hacer nada. Bar tender ha estado hablando con un amigo durante media hora y hemos esperado un vaso de agua durante 15 minutos. Tuvimos que pedir las bebidas que están incluidas con la comida que pedimos. No vale la pena por el precio muy alto. Absolutamente decepcionado. After a long wait we had to ask if the meals were being prepared as we thought they may have forgotten to put the order through. Eventually the food came with ingredients missing and it wasn’t hot at all. My meal was inedible and I was given £3.50 off of my bill when the meal was £14.00. I wasn’t offered another meal or an apology, the waitress just said ‘ I’ll tell the chef’ . I wouldn’t eat here again, what a waste of time and money

Dada una gran área de cabina pequeña que era perfecta para 5. El servicio fue un poco lento para comenzar, pero luego llegó Ameal. Ameal merece una mención especial, como un activo para BRIC. Ella no podía hacer lo suficiente para nosotros, con gran gracia y humor. Perfectas habilidades de servicio al cliente. La comida era excelente. Las tortitas con crema coagulada son deliciosas y todas con prosecco. ¡Qué más puedo pedir! Gran comienzo de un fabuloso fin de semana aquí.
