Just outstanding! When this opened, I thought, ‘why does Poulton need another cafe?’. How wrong I was. This is just incredible. Everything I have had from there is absolutely fantastic quality - the toasties are out of this world! The soup is always lovely. The iced coffee are fantastic too. They even made an omelette for my daughter who is 18 months and she loved it. Nothing is too much trouble. In short - top quality food, great service - what more could you want?

We dined here with friends for my birthday. What a treat! Steve the owner and chef does a 'Taster Evening' usually around every couple of months on a Friday and Saturday - you have to book! and been dying to go, so treated by lovely friends. Greeted with Prosecco, and then had several wonderful courses, beautifully presented...soup was hot, and so so tasty. Every course which followed was divine, served beautiffully, staff lovely, and treated to champagne! This is Truly a Truly wonderful evening. Can't say enough about the food here, Steve is very imaginative doing beautifully cooked and presented seasonal food. Overlooking the beautiful church, wonderful atmoshphere, lovely surroundings, it is a must, so please do try it. They are also open during the day with a great daily menu and cakes, and fully licensed so nice to pop in if you are anywhere near.

We visited Truly for lunch on the way to stay in St Anne's last week in the school holidays with our three grandchildren, 7, 11 and 15. The decor is great and the view over the Church and churchyard with all the spring flowers and trees out is beautiful from the upstairs window where we sat. The eldest had the Full Truly Breakfast which was amazing, cooked to perfection and finished in no time! We had sandwiches which are really tasty, prepared and presented perfectly. It is nice to have this licensed as we had a sneaky holiday beer which was great. And the kids had milkshakes which were given their full approval! Great service by very pleasant staff and Steve the chef is doing a great job there. If you haven't tried then please do, you won't be disappointed. The free wifi also went down well with the kids. Well done Truly, we will be back.

I needed a take away gluten free afternoon tea , and I knew that Truly did amazing GF cakes so contacted them to see if this was a service they offered . They were very obliging and I placed my order. When I collected it they were also extremely pleasant and the price was very reasonable . It was all packaged up in boxes so easy for me to transport . When I got home and checked the contents I was very impressed , there was a selection of 3 different sandwiches , salad , a slice of lemon drizzle cake and a slice of Bakewell tart ( both cakes were a generous portion) . Would definitely recommend . Thank you .

Had a great breakfast here today. My wife had a small breakfast i had the mega. Both our breakfasts were well cooked and presented with good quality ingredients. We were a little apprehensive eating out in the current circumstances, but the covid protocol was being fully observed. A staff member was wiping down the door handles and the stair rail in addition to the tables between customers. The tables looked very clean. Can't wait for our next visit.

Having been to Truly Scrumptious many times in the past, I was so impressed to see that the cafe has been completely refurbished. The decor is now up to date and the baby changing facilities in the also newly refurbished loo was so conveniently placed. A member of my party has a severe gluten intolerance. It was really appreciated to have a choice of gluten free options rather than the typical one cake if you’re lucky in other places.

Popped in (well actually sat outside as we had the dog with us) for two teas and a toasted teacake. The venue had been refurbished since our last visit and had certainly benefitted from it. As mentioned we sat outside on new chairs which I found a tad uncomfortable however, we were advised by a neighbouring table that cushions were available on request and this certainly helped. Tea and the teacake were both excellent delivered to the table minutes after ordering. One good thing about the cafe is that you if you sit outside it's traffic free being down a little ghynal .All staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. What's in a name? Well, you have to admit that Truly Scrumptious conjures up images of lace curtains and gingham table cloths. So a revamp was the order of the day - and certainly something was required to sole the condensation problems which previously mean everyday looked foggy! Now it's far more modern - widows which will open into the Mews on a good day and a much lighter feel to the place - both on the ground floor and upstairs too.Food is prepared to order so there's usually a bit if a wait but it's worth it. The coffee is very good. We usually opt for the bacon or fried egg barms and have never been disappointed. So it's a new (shorter) name - just Truly (with Kitchens and Tea Rooms added to its business cards) - but the same staff and the same service.

Called in today as recently opened following an extensive refurb. Love the decor which is in an industrial style, very modern and extremely clean. We ordered 2 x cream teas which consisted of a homemade scone with clotted cream and plenty of jam. We were given the choice of cherry or sultana scone. The tea was served in a large teapot and was loose leaf tea leaves. Tea was served in china teacups and I have to say, tasted like a 'proper cuppa'. The cream tea came to £5 which we were happy to pay for the quality. Truly's menu was so good and tempting, that we will both return asap. Just to be even more perfect, the service was excellent (orders taken at the table). Try the upstairs dining room for a lovely view of the St Chad's church and churchyard.

I've been here a few times before and it's always been okay- nothing to write home about. But we went on the summer and it was dreadful. Staff were miserable and I felt generally uncomfortable. I ordered a chicken and bacon sandwich. I've ordered this before, and got big chinks of chicken and rashers of bacon with mayo added in, but this time was given some dreadful premade concoction that I couldn't even finish. Served between two slices of cheap white bread. Nothing special or home made about this place, I'd suggest to one of the other cafes nearby.

Found this awesome tearoom yesterday whilst in poulton with the family! Never knew it was there but was told it had been open for around 8 years! We were told there was also seating upstairs with views of poulton and the church yard and that someone would be up to take our order. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The heating was on and music playing in the background and there was a table for kids with books and colouring which the child was happy about. Food was 10/10 we had a chicken and bacon club and a home made spiced carrot soup and a childs dippy egg and soldiers. With a name like this, there is a lot to live up to. So do they? No. Its an average little place, with average coffee. There are cakes and ice cream on display. Welcome sun dappled the outside tables but were they laid up? No. Did the sign on the door say "open" at 11.30 am? No. And what sort of place advertises itself as a "tearoom" but shuts its door on the dot of 4 pm with last orders taken at 3.30 pm? Barmy!

Craving sausages and a coffee, I headed into Poulton on a recent visit. Truly Scrumptious sits on Chapel Street Court, overlooking the church. We ordered fairly simple scrambled egg on toast, with elderflower tea and, due to a dearth of sausages on the menu, I opted for a bacon and egg back and a flat white. The drinks were spot on, and the food cooked perfectly to order. No skimping on the bacon, with thick quality rashers, and a lovely orange-yolked egg. The coffee was really good, and the young staff pleasant and attentive. Why only 4/5? decor just a little bit too far on the shabby side, but clean and tidy enough. Worth a visit.

Booked a table for three, for 12.30 pm, for afternoon tea, by the window upstairs, one Saturday afternoon. The occasion was to meet up with two old school friends after a 30 year plus absence. The table was ready when we arrived and the afternoon tea was served promptly on a lovely cake stand. The afternoon tea, was lovely and tasty . There was a good choice of sandwiches and cakes and even whether you wanted scones with cherry or saltanas. My friends had not had afternoon tea before and not knowing what to expect thought they would be served miniscule sandwiches and be sent home hungry, so we're delighted to find the selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones very filling and would more than 'keep them on' until tea time and beyond! My only gripe, is that after about 45 minutes, the waiteress told us we would have to vacate our table within the next ten minutes or so has another party had booked our table for 1.30 pm. At the time of booking I had not been made aware that our table was only alocated to us for a certain period of time. Previous places I had afternoon tea at had allowed at least 2 hours, as the point of afternoon tea is that it is relaxed and unhurried affair. Obviously, having not seen my friends for over 30 years we had a lot of catching up to do, so we weren't ready to leave after the hour. Luckily there was another vacant table closeby. Otherwise, we would have had to leave and start looking for another cafe or tearoom, which would have spoiled the amphoshere of the afternoon. In future, perhaps, it could be made clear to customers that reserved tables are only allocated to you for a certain time. The only other niggle I had, which didn't really effect me but could effect others, is that the stairs are very very steep and the toilets are just at the top of the stairs. Could be an issue for some customers particularly elderly people or people with young children. Apart from those two issues, I would come again, as the food and service was very good.

Popped into the Truly Scrumptious Tea Rooms for a mid-morning snack. The cafe makes the most of its limited space with the lower level having 5 tables available whilst upstairs there are larger tables available to cater for larger groups. The upper level is also available to hire for children's parties and other functions. Al fresco eating is available with a further 5 tables available. The menu appears to confine itself to snacks but these are freshly prepared on the premises and items such as scones are 'homemade'. We both chose eggs - I opted for scrambled whilst my wife chose poached - which were served on a wholesome and tasty granary bread. The eggs were free range and were cooked to perfection. This is certainly an establishment worthy of another visit.

I stopped here on a whim whilst visiting the area briefly because the food looked so delicious as I was passing by. I had a pot of loose leaf tea which was absolutely delicious, and I ordered coffee and walnut cake. I used to own a coffee shop and am very fussy about cake. No-one ever seems to be able to make a decent cake! Truly Scrumptious lived up to its name perfectly though. Their cake was rich, moist, dark, tasty and the coffee icing had a huge coffee kick and was delicious. I'd have had a second piece but I was in a rush! The people next to me were tucking into a plate of doorstep toast, thickly buttered with two fabulous perfectly poached eggs on top. Everything that came past me looked lovely. The service was excellent, very friendly and helpful staff who were smiling and happy; rare indeed when the norm seems to be 'Service with a scowl'. I live over an hour away but will definately visit Poulton Le Fylde again just so I can go here. Fabulous place. Honestly by far, one of the best places I have visited. Ever! Enjoy. xx

This little cafe is perfectly located next to the church in the central of the town, the cafe itself is very cosy and has a nice house feel, the hot drinks are always up to a high standard whenever I visit and the cakes and bread are to die for, the cafe is very hygienic and the staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome, overall I think this cafe is one of the best in the Poulton area and has the coffee culture award to show for it,i would really recommend to anyone visiting poulton.

Nothing wrong, but not brilliant. Adequate sandwich and coffee, but it needs to make itself stand out and perhaps give better value for money. Noticed cheese on toast and an extra 10p if you wanted a dash of Worcester sauce with it !!. Seem as bit petty to me. Plenty of choice in Poulton to go at.

Loved this place, tucked away by the church in the centre of Poulton, really enjoyed the in house coffee blend and great cakes, can see why they won a coffee culture award, well deserved from my experience.

Truly Amazing! I was amazed when I first walked into this hidden wonderland, a mixture of rustic and classic tea room decor merged into one. Brilliant way to innovate the look! And the food is exceptional... after talking to the owner and chef, Steven, we learned that nearly all produce and ingredients come from local suppliers (Longridge strawberry ice cream was much appreciated by my daughter) and this is why we have kept returning to the cafe. My family and I have eaten here many times now, and I must recommend the afternoon tea for groups. Love the cafe, and i've nearly filled my loyalty card!

What do you do when your favourite local café (The Cosy Corner) is bought out by big business? Well, either go hungry or find somewhere else.I have to admit the Truly Scrumptious name put me off a bit - but then again I'd learned to love the Cosy Corner! Situated by the side of Poulton's historic St Chad;s Church and removed from traffic it turns out to be a hidden gem with a busy and fairly crowded ground floor, a far more spacious and peaceful first floor (great view of the churchyard) - and a on a good day a smattering of outdoor seating. The décor is as nostalgic as the music (usually 50s and 60s - and strictly background). There is plenty of breakfast-through-to-afternoon-tea choices - though so far we've stuck to basic eggs and/or bacon and morning snacks. .The coffee is excellent and although the bread isn't actually home made it tastes like it is - and can be ordered by the loaf!Plenty of cakes, a great selection of teas - and even a selection of gifts if you remember that birthday you've forgotten until now.Friendly service. Good Prices.

We visited the tea shop last weekend after finding The Cornhill a few doors down full. With 2 kids in tow it's always a bit dodgy trying somewhere new. Especially with an unpredictable 2 year old who thinks she's 10!Anyway, no worries here. Plenty of room, lovely reasonably priced menu. I had the Truly Scrumptious home blended coffee which was indeed truly scrumptious. Hubby had "the best brew out for ages" along with a huge fresh scone. But perhaps the best accolade came from our 5 year old who described his cake as "the best chocolate cake ever" which had "yummy icing"!We'll be back next time we venture to Poulton that's for sure

Absolutely beautiful tea rooms with a beautiful church which one overlooked whilst eating the most amazingly tasty food, the staff are lovely friendly kind very welcoming they simply couldn't do enough for us. Our children were made to feel extra special by the gentleman in charge I think his name was Steven he was kind and our sons dietary requirements were met, there was colouring for the children which is located upstairs which they loved. Can't wait to visit this place again absolutely loved it well done to all at truely scrumptious xx

We've eaten in this fab little gem of a café a couple of times now and have not been disappointed. The atmosphere is friendly and comfortable and the food is delicious. We've not had the afternoon tea but have seen a few people who have and they have all looked to be really enjoying their food. I had the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, my absolute favourite brunch and it didn't disappoint. If you like to be pleasantly surprised then you have to give Truly Scrumptious a try. Oh and you just have to try their own blend coffee - its proper lush!

I took a friend to this lovely little tea shop in Poulton, a nice change from the coffee chains. The menu was good and we considered brunch but decided to go for a lemon drizzle and didn't regret it, it was delicious, moist, perfect. Tea was served in china, lose tea leaves and strainer. It really was a nice way to spend the morning. On another occasion my daughter had been here for the afternoon tea and she had a lovely time.We sat downstairs but there was also seating upstairs which I suspect looks directly over the lovely St Chads Church.I will definitely be going back soon, it's my new favourite go to place for a good cup of tea :)

What a lovely afternoon we've had at this quaint little cafe. Beautiful cakes, yummy sandwiches, a great atmosphere for such brilliant value. Being from London, I'm used to the "coffee shop" lifestyle but this is a place where everything is baked on site and produce is sourced locally which I think is a great touch. The owner was chatty and friendly and went out of his way to provide great service. I would definitely return and happily recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm, cosy, friendly environment to enjoy a good cuppa!

We popped over from Blackpool for a couple of hours and had a really lovely time. Afternoon tea consists of a sandwich of your choice (on white or granary) a scone (sultana or cherry) with clotted cream & jam, a cake of your choice (gluten free available) and tea or coffee. Excellent value at £7.50 and the service was really relaxed, friendly and attentive. Recently under new ownership they're keen to attract new customers so they do a loyalty card too! Will definitely come again.

We regularly visit this cafe and have reviewed it positively before for lightish meals and coffee and my wife likes the craft area. It's surprising to read the review below as the new owner is a very pleasant person, very knowledgeable about coffee and very polite. Also the young lady who remained was the friendliest one, at least with us, and is an excellent baker. The mince tarts she made were some of the best we'd had and the cakes are a very high standard. The baked potatoes are good as they're done in a proper cooker.Poulton has a lot of competition in cafes with at least 10 within a few hundred yards and this one has a niche of its own. I'd think the owner with his pleasant style and knowledge has more to offer than the previous owners although whether the slight tidying of the style will be a success only time will tell. This cafe has seats upstairs overlooking the churchyard which is quite nice, as are the seats outside in the Mews. There are 3 large car parks in Poulton that are very rarely full and at £1.50 for 2hrs, or free for residents with a pass or shopping in Booths, it's hardly breaking the bank.

We came to the Royal Oak on a busy Saturday due to garstang having a small festival, it was very busy but such an enjoyable experience. We had our baby with us and nothing was too much trouble, we had some food and drinks and all was really lovely and good portions! Louis and Charlotte in particular were very welcoming and polite and everything was brought in good time considering the amount of other people having food and drinks! Definitely visit again soon, thank you!

Sadly, I had a very negative experience here. After a very long walk I asked whether they served cheesy chips was spoken to and looked at with disdain and told no. When I was searching for the food menu I was informed menus were on the table. This menu had cheese on a number of items including as a topping for Jacket Potato. I explained I understood what I'd been told I just wondered if you could sell me cheese as a side ( most places are accommodating to their customers) I was again told we don't do cheesy chips or comes on top of the potato ( which surely you need to add?!) I said I would go somewhere else and was told you do that. I turned around and told her she had a bad attitude. She made me feel little and humiliated in front of a room of customers. I hope she has a few more people don't bother going in because of her rudeness maybe she'll learn some kindness. The lack of helpfulness fine they don't do it her lack of kindness quite another.
