Rude staff member ! Nipped in to grab a pastty and a coffee with a colleague , my colleague ordered the breakfast wrap which he was told would take 8 mins . No problem I grabbed my coffee and went to sit down while we wait for his wrap and the lady behind the counter shouted you can’t sit there , you must pay to sit down . I replied asking if it was okay to sit while we wait for the wrap as it was 8 AM and no one was as in the cafe and she shouted no if your willing to pay the prices you can sit! Strange lady on a power trip just generally awful customer service other ladies behind counter had there heads down which makes me think it’s a regular occurrence never be going there again

Nipped in on an impulse for a sausage roll and wished I had instead driven to the Greggs further up the road! Member of staff, Isobelle, was busy wiping a table and no other staff were in sight. Isobelle decided that finishing the table was her priority and proceeded, without even acknowledging me, to then go on and wash down a highchair. She returned the chair to the storage area, went slowly to the sink and washed her hands slowly, slowly came to the counter and just stared at me. When she realised that I was not going to speak first, she asked me what I would like. I said a sausage roll, please and she bagged one and handed it to me saying, £2.40" - no please! There is no shortage these days of quick food availability in Billingshurst and, if Truffles really wants to have a good profile in the village, then the staff need to have some customer service training at most and being told not to be so surly at the least. I will not be using Truffles again, that's for sure.

I am normally a regular. And do not normally wish to complain. But today I was very disappointed. I wanted to have lunch in the café. My lunch was served on a paper plate which I had to ask for. Is this a new thing?

Came to Billingshurst to get something sorted on my car, whilst I waited I went to Truffles. Best cafe experience I have had in a long time. The 3 ladies were super friendly, a great sign of a cafe is when locals come in as regulars and sit and enjoy the atmosphere. Was great to see the chat between staff and customers. Was a nice relaxed place to work. The cooked breakfast was 1st class and was at good price for what you got. Coffee, better than any chain. Loved it. Treated like a old regular even though it was my first visit; amazing experience and next time I need work done, I am 100% coming back here. Brilliant cafe.

Last week, bought a bacon roll for breakfast treat £2.60 - nice and warm with fresh roll. Today bought a bacon roll for breakfast treat £4.60 !!!!!!! and almost cold. I now feel ripped off! Unfortunately the price wasn't advertised that I could see. I wish I'd said keep it and walked out but it was already bagged and in my hand and I was just too shocked!!

The title says it all. I love visiting the billingshurst branch of Truffles. Not only is the food delicious but the staff are friendly and always take time to chat and remember the regulars. Particularly love the caramel donuts and yum yums

I use this branch of Truffles weekly and I cannot praise highly enough the polite and friendly staff. They are always welcoming with generous friendly smiles and greetings to everyone who comes in. They make the atmosphere so congenial that it has become the daytime hub of the village.

Heading along the famous A272, we stopped in Billingshurst for coffee. We went to Truffles simply because it was near the car park! It was not particularly busy. The staff were friendly and efficient. As noted in my title, the coffee was good and they do a sultana danish pastry which was one of the best I have ever tasted - fresh and moist with a perfect balance of pastry and icing (and sultanas).

I don't recognise the place that the doubters are referring to, We visited last week, the staff were great, the place was spotless and the food was tasty. On the menu are all day breakfasts, (really nice), create your own breakfast, Paninis, jacket potatoes, Children's menu, fresh sandwiches, sweet treats, and many others. We found it excellent value

Visited here to meet up with friend Like most other comments,I found the staff sullen, unprofessional and reluctant to serve The place is pretty grubby, floor dirty and bits of food on it,tables not cleared ,food overpriced and the sandwich I had was made with what tasted like stale bread,of a bakers can’t give you fresh bread then there is no hope.do yourselves a favour and drive a little further out of Billingshurst towards Horsham and eat at Billy’s a super cafe with friendly staff and amazing food all freshly prepared.

Came in for food with my sister, the tables were dirty (we had to ask for our table to be cleaned) the staff were rude and stuck up- one of those girls (whom I believe to be called hannah due to her love island water bottle) was extremely rude, the dirty looks we kept getting was appalling! I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in my life having breakfast and a catch up. Also the whispering between staff members behind the till is not acceptable! Staff need training on how to be professional!!!!!! Drinks took 20 mins to come out after ordering. And they brought the cups out and 5 mins later brought the cokes - glasses were so dirty we didn’t end up using them. Ordered a brekfast and my toast never arrived!! And the bacon was cold! Also found a fly in my shroooms Also dead flies all over the windowsill.

Truffles is as good as the shift who work when you are there. Sometimes we get friendly, welcoming staff, other times they don't even acknowledge you at all. The last time I was there I took two children with me for a treat and we ended up leaving without even ordering anything after 15 minutes as nobody had come to clean the dirty table we had found and nobody had even made eye contact with us. Service aside, which is a hit and miss, the cakes, biscuits and pastries on sale are delicious.

I have been to other Truffles in Steyning and Cranleigh and am left wondering why Truffles in Billingshurst can't up its game a bit. There is little in the way of real competition in the village and the only other contender is not my kind of place. An earlier attempt to create a tea room experience sadly failed so come on Truffles help me out here and please change the furniture and seating, it reminds me of a canteen! I want to feel as if the cakes and pastries are "homemade" (when I know they're not) I'd like to sit at a nice table and relax. I know you cater for passing workers etc but there's no reason to not aim at the local passing trade who want to sit, have a coffee or tea and do a crossword. I've had no complaint to make about the snacks and cakes, just the ambience.

I went to Truffles, and tried their breakfast, at 1.30! One thing I have an issue with is overdone fried eggs with breakfast, I am delighted to say my eggs were done perfectly, non greasy, no burning around the outside, no gloopy white, and a lovely runny yolk!!The decor is spacious and relaxing, the staff attentive without being in your face. Highly recommended for a really decent meal / coffee etc, value for money!

This establishment has sadly gone downhill in the last 12 months. Having given it numerous chances to redeem itself, we continuously found that orders were incorrect and bills were incorrect. Food is average at best and the whole place just needs a massive clean. It is filthy at the best of times and seating bay has a life of its own. Until its been renovated, I don't think I will be using here again.Really sad to see it go down hill.

Nipped in here briefly before I went and caught a train and I have to say the sandwich and brownie I had were gorgeous! The sandwiches are made in front of you and the cakes look very fresh! Overall for the food plus a drink it came to £6 which I would say is a little dear for lunch but nonetheless I was quite happy to pay it considering the portion sizes and that the sandwiches were hand made to order. Definitely would stop off again :)

Well, despite the indifferent reviews on TripAdvisor we didn't find it pricey and I enjoyed my coffee. I had an Americano; perhaps it's the filter coffee that isn't so good. My wife's tea came in a large cup, and she prefers a teapot, so that was the major drawback. We both had the tiffin slice, which was delicious. Staff were friendly, the room is light, airy and spacious. We parked 50 yards away, cost 80p for an hour.

But any other savory food is low quality and not cooked well enough - and staff seem to be doing you a favour by serving you. Having visited here for an afternoon tea / late lunch we were greeted by an unfriendly manager and a facility looking to close up rather than welcome any passing trade. The kitchen was closed with still an hour to go before closing so no cooked meals were available. Perhaps we should have walked out but giving the benefit of the doubt we persevered and enjoyed the coffee... Some saving grace! We were disappointed... Family have been here and recommended the business but the unwelcome nature of the senior staff... The lack of variety on offer will lead us to try an alternative establishment next time. Shame :/

Met my family here today for coffee and lunch. We were not permitted to sit on one of the three long vacant sofas inside to avoid the rain outside. We therefore decided not to have proper lunch. Sitting outside, one toasted sandwich, two milkshakes, one coffee and tea cost me well over £30. My French is very good but to describe my Cheese and Tomato toasty just in the French language was absolutely ridiculous and PRETENTIOUS. The person who took our order had no sense of humour and could not have cared less. Owners of this place please note, the most important asset a company has is its staff - and yours looked so overworked. I will not be returning to your plush sofas which customers are not allowed to sit on!

Thought I would give this another try after my last visit over a year ago. No. Just no. No improvement whatsoever. It has all the glitz and glamour deco but none of the substance. The owner should look into the best service and food available elsewhere. The Swedish cafe in Horsham are spot on. Take a leaf out of their book for improvement.
