Disappointing. I have not even been to Koffie and the service is appalling. My sister tried to arrange my Hen Do at this establishment, there is no direct phone to contact Koffie, you can either text, voicemail or email, it is a very impersonal service. The owner takes over a week respond leaving you anxious, we had a large booking and obviously wanted to make sure everything was going to be perfect as it was a special occasion. The owner showed us no accommodation or rarely acknowledged our concerns. We ultimately cancelled our booking as we felt the Hen Do was going to be disappointing if we had it at Koffie . The owners response us cancelling was that, our booking was a usual booking and her responses and time spent towards us were appropriate. This translates to us, as we didn’t hire the place out for £1500 we were not deserving of her time. Poor attitude, poor communication and not business minded; they have now lost out on a large booking of 16 people because of this. As well as the recent reviews scream alarm bells.

My third visit to this restaurant and yet again the service is terribly slow, took over 1.5hrs for some eggs. Arrived to celebrate my birthday with girl friends to be told they cannot serve alcohol as they’re in between licensing - no one called to advise in advance. Had to move tables after 1hr (still no food) due to private party. Table was freezing due to draft from the door to the park being opened and closed non stop. Food was average, cold. They gave us a round of coffees to take away on the house. At no point did a manager appear to apologise for the service. The staff look straight through you, at one point came to asked if the food was ok and immediately said ‘lovely, thank you’ before I’d even lifted my head to reply. Avoid. Such a shame as the decor and location is beautiful.

A fantastic surprise. Koffie is a Secret Cafe in Horsham Park serving brunch and drinks. Seating is either in the restaurant, in the Orangery or outside overlooking the park. Very friendly and helpful team as well as an excellent kitchen team producing tasty and attractive plates of food with good portions.

Coffee was pretty bad. Dirty dishes all over the tables. Everything in take away cups? They just walk around with a bin bag and throw stuff in it. Kinda gross. I think they’re understaffed. This points to a moronic owner. I guess just another place that for some reason stays in business.

A perfect spot for lunch! Beautiful location in the park with outdoor seating and an indoor conservatory area. Normally just stop for coffee but upon eating there we were very impressed - I had wild mushrooms on sourdough which was amazing, my partner the eggs benedict which were perfect. Definitely recommend especially on a nice sunny day.

This could be an incredible spot in town, right in the middle of Horsham park, lovely outdoor seating and a nice vibe. The food is yummy and a nice range. However, the service is absolutely terrible, and has been at every visit. No one pays any attention to the tables, drinks take 20 minutes to come, and food approx an hour - for some simple eggs on toast. It’s also incredibly expensive for such poor service. Really sad as I love meeting friends for a walk in the park and food here, and I wanted to have my mind changed but sadly won’t be attending again.

This is a great place. We were amazed by the team that work here and the dedication of the staff and manager. They have been great on the occasions we have been and after some hard to deal with issues from previous owners they have done a brilliant job. Service very slow. Ask for pot of tea then received coffee cup of hot water and tea bag, not even filled to top. Had to ask for sugar, received light brown sugar in messy jar with lid, really unhygienic. Food took ages, really expensive. Had smashed avocado on soughdough, charged extra for poached egg. £14 for mushrooms on toast. Charged extra for soya milk, this isn't on as allergy related. Had to ask for cutlery, again unhygienic, waitress picked up and handed each set out from holding them all in her hand. Paid £105, queried bill, paid. Then saw that they had added a 10% service charge of £9.50 on. Not going there again.

Couldnt get a table where we wanted as told it was booked although the table we requested was empty when we got there and empty when we left. Had to send the late back as it was cold (less than room temp) and the sausage sandwiches cam as rolls and the sausage was over cooked almost burned. Had to wait ages to pay the bill. I was being generous with 3 stars. Shame as we work round the corner and would use more if a better experience.

Atrocious. Awful - a huge disappointment. Despite the rebrand the same issues still stand... Poor service, small overpriced portions, flavourless and overcooked food, sullen employees, poor hygiene in the toilets and throughout - mud covered floors. But most notably, the 'baby changing' facilities. The changing mat was dirty, and the bin open, stinking, and unsanitary as it wasnt sealed and was full of soiled nappys in bags. I ordered the chorizo and beans with hash browns, described on the menu as a 'stack'! It was measly and bland. In lieu of the chorizo which was missing (I was not informed when ordering), I requested a sausage as a replacement to try and jazz the dish up a little - I was told this would incur a £4 additional charge, on an already £13 dish! It took 20 minutes for our drinks and my Mums sausage roll to arrive!! When explaining the poor service and experience to the on duty Manager, she couldn't have cared less. She just repeated 'that's OK' and 'I know' over and over. Not listening at all. The lady that tended to our table removed my meal from the bill as it was so poor, she then got a very public telling off by the abovmentioned manager for 'over compensating'. Appalling. We will not return, it's such a shame as the potential here is huge. Bring back the Kaya of Lockdown! Great Chefs, hearty food, and a sense of community. Don't waste your money going to Koffie.

Awful. What has happened to Kaya? Used to come here a lot but now we’ve had too many awful experiences in a row that we won’t come again. Today we came with some friends who ordered their daughter the children’s chicken and chips and when they cut into it it wasn’t just a bit pink, it was RAW. Totally raw, so raw it was almost clucking. Never seen anything like it. To her credit the young waitress handled it well, even though they seem understaffed and stressed. The time before this in the summer we waited 1hr45 for coffee and sandwiches when it wasn’t that busy and no one was checking in or apologising. Time before that we waited half an hour for take away coffee that was tepid and I do think £4 for coffee with oat milk option is just a bit silly. It’s such a prime location and used to be a well oiled machine. Sadly don’t think we will ever trust going again.

I recently visited your establishment for a relaxing Sunday morning with my family, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Upon entering, there was no one at the till to welcome or serve us. When I looked around the corner to find assistance, I was met by a young staff member who responded with a sigh and an eye roll, giving the impression that my presence was an inconvenience. Throughout our visit, her demeanor remained disinterested, as if she was more focused on returning to her conversation than on assisting customers. As a loyal customer who has frequented your establishment and recommended it to others in the past, I was disappointed by the lack of attentiveness and professionalism I encountered. I hope that improvements can be made to ensure a positive experience for future guests We won't be returning

Now don't get me wrong. The food was very well cooked, tasty and potentially great. However, if I order wild mushrooms on sourdough for £14, I do expect a little more than a few button mushrooms and two pieces of seared oyster mushroom. Perhaps it's just me, after all I have been eating wood blewitts, golden tubed chantrelles and saffron caps picked in the Alps for a week (pretentious eh?) But really. Still. "Wild" mushrooms on toast it wasn't. It did look cool, with lots ( and lots, and lots) of green micro herbs covering the top (my cynical thought was to hide the last of wildness in the mushrooms) and on a bed of delicious green pesto, which did remind me of the moss I picked the girolles from. But no. I don't think £14 for button mushrooms on toast and two pieces of oyster mushroom constitutes wild mushrooms on toast. And unforgivably, I was still starving afterwards. Meaning I had to order soup, spending another wad of money. Not value for money but potentially good.

The restaurant itself is lovely, but the service really let us down during our visit on Friday. From the moment we walked in, it felt a bit disorganized. No one greeted us, and we had to ask if we should seat ourselves. When a waitress finally came over, she barely said a word and simply handed us the menus. A few minutes later, another staff member informed us that certain dishes were sold out, which we were fine with. However, after that, we sat there for over 20 minutes without anyone coming to take our drink or food order. Eventually, my friend had to go up and ask someone to come over. When the waitress did come to take our order, we were told that the kitchen had closed and they were only taking drink orders. No one had mentioned the kitchen was closing soon, so it felt quite misleading, especially since they had just informed us about dishes that weren’t available. The lack of communication and inattentive service was very disappointing, and sadly, it overshadowed what could have been a nice experience. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return based on this visit.

Food was lovely and service was good, the only negative was the music playing. My friend and I went in for brunch and sat in the conservatory part, and they were playing what I would class as "clubbing music" at 11am. It just didn't go with the vibe of the place, nor did it suit the clientele that were in there. So it was creating the wrong atmosphere. Some chilled music would be better suited.

We hosted a baby shower at Koffie yesterday afternoon and it was everything we hoped for and more. I was in touch with Candy leading up to the event, and we decided to opt for savoury & sweet sharing platters/graze boards and we were not disappointed. The food was so so lovely, with many different options, and everything was decorated with beautiful edible flowers. Despite having sharing platters, there was plenty for us all and even tonnes of food left over which the team kindly popped into takeaway bags for us. Due to dietary requirements, Candy even made us a sugar free cake! Everyone and everything was truly catered for. The conservatory is a lovely setting, with surrounding views of the park. The perfect setting for a sunny afternoon! All of the staff were so polite and helpful throughout our visit, and even let us stay past their closing time. Thank you team Koffie!

Very disappointed by this cafe in a prime position in a beautiful part of Horsham. Do they realise that it's 2024 and the plant-based/vegan demand is growing exponentially! Do they read 'The Grocer' and all the other trade magazines and sites like Vegconomist which show the surge in demand for these foods? Talk about behind-the-times! Whether for health, the planet or (most importantly), the animals - the world is changing. I was truly shocked at their lack of vegan cake options - i.e. none. It's not hard to make a vegan carrot cake and many other outlets don't even bother labelling them (you don't need a warning that you're about to eat something delicious!). (Try South Downs Nurseries in Hassocks for a great example - their cake selection - plant-based and non plant-based without making a big deal of it) is second-to-none and the place is always packed with people). Horsham has its own vegan market.. and so what's with Koffie??? The waiter did forget my drinks order but that's an everyday error but it was sad to go hungry on my day out in the park.

Searched for a restaurant near a park where we could sit outside, enjoy the sun and celebrate a family members birthday. Thus looked the perfect place. Website boasted cocktails and good food. They only took bookings by the Web site and it asked questions about dietary requirements and if the occasion was a birthday. They asked for credit card details to make the booking! I didn't give mine but booking still was acknowledged. There were only a handful of tables occupied and yet people who hadn't booked were being turned away as they said they were "fully booked". This was at 13.15. We waited with waiting staff walking past us to be seated. No front of house to greet us and seat us. Eventually we were shown to seats and given a menu. We queried whether we had been given the right menu as it said "Brunch" , was very limited. Mushrooms on bruchetta, scrambled egg with smoked salmon, avocado and tomato on toasted bread, hummus and flat bread, chicken burger, beefburgers. Tiasred cheese and ham sandwich. Tiadted cheese, ham and egg sandwich. Extras - chips, avocado, eggs, bacon, As I remember. We were hungry so decided to order a plate of 'extras'. Avocado, smoked salmon, poached egg and chips. Not what we had envisaged fir a birthday celebration but thought it would suffice. Also birthday girl was looking forward to a cocktail. "We no longer serve cocktails" ! "We have run out of smoked salmon" "Oh, avocado? Sorry we don't have any" A total disaster and very embarrassing for me who had booked this as a birthday present. If you want a coffee and a pastry and don't mind a wait you'll be fine.

Have been going to kaya for a while but recently it seems to be heading downhill (check out other recent reviews). We went here for a celebratory family brunch with a party of 6. We had prams and the staff were clearly not interested in opening the doors or finding a place to leave the prams. When ordering food the menu is limited and rather expensive, £16 for a very small full english. I appreciate food is expensive but when compared with other cafe's/restaurants Kaya's portion sizes leave you wanting more. Addiontally food takes a long time to come out. I must say though the food was good and is consistently good when having eaten on previous occasions. It seems like they are catering for a certain clientele and just dont seem very attentive, nor helpful anymore.

Area was stunning. Food and service were below par. Our food took an hour to come. They had run out of a lot of things even though we were the first ones there at 9-30 am. We had a their version of a croque monsoir and it was dry with no cheese sauce just cheddar cheese and ham. so, in our opinion this was falsely named. We also had the scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon and some-how the bacon was burnt one end and under cooked the other, the sausage was anaemic and dry and the toast was again dry with no butter and no option to butter. For £16 the portions were also small. Personally, I would recommend going to bills for a cheaper, better cooked and heartier breakfast.

Don't go there hungry or thirsty! When we sat down, my husband pointed out the table felt sticky. We had to wait for 30 minutes to even get our drink order in, and only after we flagged the waiter, who rolled his eyes and acted like it was a huge inconvenience. When our drinks finally arrived, we took the opportunity to order the food, again this was met with hostility. They did not have the lunch menu available, even though it was after noon and only select items from the brunch menu too. It was a full hour between being seated and receiving our food. The food was entirely bland, with fairly small portions. Over-salted fries were the high-point. All of the tables in the conservatory had similar waits to us and had been there for 30+ minutes. While eating, I witnessed what passed for clearing a table: the waitress took the plates off a vacated table and then wiped the table with her bare hand. That's it. No cleaning products, no sanitiser, no towel. I thought surely she would return to finish, nope. Suddenly our sticky table made sense! We paid (almost £70 for 2 people having one course meal and drinks) and got out of there in a hurry.

Shame on this place! It’s hot out and my 2 kids needed a treat to stay cool. I went up and asked if they made milkshakes. I was told yes. I ordered 2 chocolate milkshakes…. Paid £12! £6each I thought they must be good! Came out in a takeaway coffee cup with no straws. I asked for straws and was told bluntly they didn’t have any. I asked how a child was meant to drink them and I got a shrug and just walked away! I didn’t need to worry as the milkshakes where inedible!!!!!!!! They’d clearly used hot chocolate powder and just mixed with water and milk! It was a powdery watery disgusting concoction! 2 very disappointed children and a really upset parent! Shame on you Kaya! This isn’t the first time we have been let down!

We really wanted to like it here as it is really well located in the park and the building and decor is beautiful and we are looking for our new local cafe having not long moved to the area. Unfortunately this was a real let down. The service was super slow. It took ages for us to be able to order, and then we waited over 45 minutes for toast and eggs. I appreciate that everything is cooked fresh, but it wasn't even particularly busy and that's far too long to wait for a simple brunch. It is very expensive too, e g. If you want avocado and toast with smoked salmon that will be £20 (£13 for the avo toast, £7 for the salmon). We both commented it is more expensive than most the places we frequented in London. To be fair the food was excellent quality when it did arrive, so we might have been semi regulars for an occasional treat if the service had been better. But for those prices I expect much quicker and more efficient service. On the brightside, it is dog friendly inside and out, and they have plenty of highchairs for young kids.

We have been to Kaya a few times as we live in Horsham and it has really gone downhill which is such a shame. The service is shockingly bad. Today we attended as 4 adults for brunch. We all ordered cold drinks which didn’t arrive until half way through our food (one had to be sent back due to being incorrect) despite chasing multiple times. The drinks arrived nearly 50 minutes after we arrived. The food is nice but quite expensive. 2 people didn’t have cutlery which had to be asked for more than once, the pepper grinder didn’t work and another had to be asked for and everything for just SO slow. It was embarrassing. They then had the cheek to put the service charge on the bill which we asked to be removed (something we would never usually do). I think we will find somewhere else next time.

It was nearly £20 just for 2 coffees and 2 slices of cake. We also had to sit outside as there was a sign up stating that you could only sit inside if ordering meals even though there were tables available. When I went inside to use the toilet I saw that the Oat milk used is just Lidl's own brand, I was very disappointed for the price of the coffee.

We arrived at 9.30am and was told we could not order breakfast until 10am, by then it had filled up. An hour later still no food had arrived and no one else had received their food. Lots of unhappy customers. They cannot cope with people inside as well as takeaway orders. We left after an hour waiting. Such a shame as it’s a lovely place.

We attended on a Friday morning for our pre booked table at 10am. I ordered a tap water and my friend ordered a coffee. The coffee arrived but the water did not, so I then ordered a hot chocolate and our food. 15 minutes later I still had no water or hot chocolate. I went to the counter and took my own water and asked them for my hot drink. 20 minutes after arriving it arrived. At 10:35 the waitress said our food wouldn’t be long and asked if we’d like another drink. I thought it would have been nice if it was a complimentary drink but she did not say this and so we declined. By 11am we had no food and no drinks so we left hungry and disappointed. It later materialised after speaking with other unhappy customers who left with us without their food that the workers were prioritising take away orders over sit in customers who often pay a tip at the end of their meal. The customer service was poor, we can’t rate the food because it never appeared. To make matters worse we’d only ordered mushrooms on toast, hardly a strenuous meal and wouldn’t expect it to take over an hour. I think they need to rethink their priorities. It wasn’t even busy, half full at max and throughout the hour there was no food to be seen on any of the tables! Sorry but the pretty decor doesn’t make up for poor service.

On arrival we were not asked if our coffee was to have in or takeaway. We was then served coffee in paper cups, waited quite a while for our pastries, then we wasn't aloud to sit at a table in the conservatory? We was told to sit near the entrance on the high chairs. But unfortunately one of us had a, bad back and the chairs were to high. The lady reluctantly let us sit in the conservatory. But we felt very unwelcomed. When served our pastries we was not given serviettes. No spoon for coffee or offered sugar. Not a very satisfactory visit 😔😔

Food was lovely but was charged £5 for a side of bacon and £4 for avocado. Then they added a service charge on top and handed the bill to us before we had even finished. We had only been there 40mins and it was empty?

Having had an amazing lunch here back in 2022 we were keen to visit again. However, on this occasion the experience fell flat. Hugely over-priced. £16 for a small breakfast squeezed onto a slice of toast. Having to negotiate adding milk to coffee by way of an espresso cup because I guess they’re just too trendy to use an actual jug. Surly waiter. There’s only so long you can get away with relying on your lovely decor and location. You really need to live up to expectations. We won’t be returning.

Absolutely terrible service. Grabbed a coffee the other day and the guy working in there, when I managed to get his attention away from his phone, suggested I pop sugar in my coffee with a fork as there were no clean spoons. No offer to clean a spoon, too busy texting. Sort yourselves out honestly.

I used to go to Kaya quite a lot - either for take away or for brunch/lunch. That was about 2 years ago. I think that since then the service has worsened with long waits to be served and for food. I also think that food and drinks are overpriced. Today I got a smoothie, flat white and latte (all take away) and paid £14.70. That is very pricey for 3 drinks. I would have questioned the price but I was busy talking to a friend, so I just paid and left. On another occasion I stayed in and got 2 coffees, a cake (£5) which was burnt at the bottom and was surprised that my bill included a service charge. Another thing that I don’t like is that they charge £1.50 for babyccino which is served in an espresso cup. For that price, I’d expect a full glass of milk.

Brunch with friends. Lovely decor and menu. Delicious hot chocolate. Quite expensive (£3 for a poached egg to add to mushrooms on toast). Staff were friendly but we were asked to leave as soon as we had paid due to other bookings. However there were 5 vacant tables and noone waiting to be seated.

A very pretty conservatory style cafe right next to the beautiful Horsham Registration office! The interior is very beautiful. Food was tasty but the portions a bit small. The burgers unfortunately do not come with a side of chips so you’ll need to order one separately!

The staff is lazy and rude. The coffees were watery and expensive. Worst coffee I’ve had in my life. Staff seem to be annoyed to serve you and take years to give you the order. Food was meh and also expensive

Sadly over-priced and over-rated. Our brunches were £16 each and it all fit on a single slice of toast. The place is beautiful but it ignores all the small details. Milk in an espresso cup instead of a little jug so that when you pour it, it spills everywhere, no salt & pepper on the table. If this is trendy modern dining then they can keep it.

Came here for a brunch with my sister, Upon entering Kaya, it’s beautiful, furniture is lovely, decor is very instagrammable and welcoming. I originally ordered the waffles but was then informed they didn’t have them in because of a late stock, which I understand so instead I chose the avocado toast, to which the lady asked me if I’d like a fried egg with it, I said yes. The food was ok, nothing amazing but it’s avocado toast, so what can you expect. I wasn’t however informed that the egg I was upsold to, cost £3? It was a hard yolk and cold. My sister also had the English breakfast, which consisted of 3 ingredients on a plate, one of them being a sour sausage which embodied hospital food. It was squished and clearly had been left at the bottom of the freezer too long. The iced coffees were lovely, however, a bill of £44 for some avocado toast, 2 coffees and some egg bacon and sausage seems slightly over priced 🤕

Had a delightful brunch today. An amazing brunch selection here...it was hard to chose but I went for the waffles with fruit compote, maple syrup and creme fraiche. It did have bacon, but I'm veggie and they were happy to take it off to make the dish veggie. Only downside to the place was that it was hard to catch the waiters sometimes, but it was very busy and they tried their best. Such a pleasant view in this place, was able to see the gardens and dogs walking by. Will definitely return 💖

Dreadful value. Over £19 for 1 piece of toast, scrambled egg, 2 rashers of bacon and 1 small sausage with coffee. And when they brought the ketchup they hadn't even removed the seal

My first visit here was ok but could have been better with a bit more attention to detail. The food was good if a little pricey for what I received. One of the hand wash bottles in the toilet was empty, the waste bin was full, and you are expected to dry hands on what looked like small napkins. I left feeling a little underwhelmed really especially when comparing with many other food outlets in and around town.

Unfortunately I was violently unwell after eating a chicken burger here. I ate all other meals that day at home with my family and was the only one who was sick. I have tried to reach out to Kaya to discuss in multiple ways and heard nothing back. I even spoke to someone who knew about my email and who said they would respond. I don’t feel that they have taken my complaint seriously, which is concerning.

It so happens when I have a free coffee to claim that they’ve stopped doing the cards. Say to use the online system and start again “sorry”. 9 x coffees bought for no reward. Won’t be returning

Me and my partner came here on a late Sunday afternoon, the service was great and the gentleman who works there provided 10/10 service. The food however was questionable. We had an Indian meal, the garlic naan and popadoms were okay but when it came to the chicken tikka masala that my parter had, it tasted like tomato soup and it smelled like burnt tomato. My korma was spicy and I’m not good with spice so that’s the whole reason why I get the korma. The samosas we got were also spicy when they’re not meant to be and it was literally just stuffed with onion. No other vegetables. I tried to go to the toilet (the main word in this sentence is tried) and there were 3 stalls. All which had no loo roll. I even tried to get some hand towels from the dispenser but, again, no paper towels. I decided to not even go for a wee and waited until I got home. The floor was sticky and the bin was over flowing and looked like it hadn’t been changed in 3 days. All in all, was not a great experience considering we paid £50 for 2 meals and 2 drinks. Won’t be coming here again sadly.

Very very bad, low quality food, ordered a cheese burger, the meat is very low quality and the cheese was disgusting. The chicken wings were also horrid. There are Michelin star squares from previous years on the outside, they are so far from this they need to take them down. I spent over £20 and all I ate were the chips. Avoid!
