Kaya In The Park in Horsham

Thought I would give this another try after my last visit over a year ago. No. Just no. No improvement whatsoever. It has all the glitz and glamour deco but none of the substance. The owner should look into the best service and food available elsewhere. The Swedish cafe in Horsham are spot on. Take a leaf out of their book for improvement.

Went here for a baby shower and the staff were brilliant - our waitress couldn’t do enough for us.. We had sharing boards and the food was amazing - so much of it. Will definitely go back, such a lovely setting too

Unfortunately our food was not ready even though we waited an hour. We had to then have a takeaway which as I was attending a meeting I couldn't eat the toastie when it was hot. We had brought it to the attention of the team several times. Our optional service charge was waived. The team were apologetic but that didn't help. Another lady said they waited 45 mins for their food. The food and drinks are not cheap but it's a lovely location so we were prepared to pay a bit more. Definitely will not be going there again.

You can never get an answer to book as I invite people from London here, not really impressed as I would like to be, sad as I live here as well.

Took a long time for the food to arrive.Only a Burger with no salad or fries All extra and also breakfast many items are extra so works out expensive give it a miss. Used to be good but not now. Only 3 things available on the menu so little choice.

The food is OKAY but the place as a whole has taken a real turn sadly. The service is incredibly slow even for just a couple of drinks and that’s after paying an extortionate amount. It’s also so badly run in terms of making it clear where/how you order takeout or if you need to wait to be given a table etc

This place has gone down hill big time since we last visited. Service was very very slow and I mean slow. Food portions were small and over priced. Other customers left their food uneaten. My food was OK ish...... but my wife's poached eggs were so undercooked almost raw!!!! This business will not survive for very long with this level of service and quality of food. Not at these prices!!!!

The service is very slow we waited over half an hour for our drinks. We then had a further long wait for our food. It’s such a shame that the service is so bad as the restaurant is very well designed and in a good position but will not be recommending or going again.

Searched for a restaurant near a park where we could sit outside, enjoy the sun and celebrate a family members birthday. Thus looked the perfect place. Website boasted cocktails and good food. They only took bookings by the Web site and it asked questions about dietary requirements and if the occasion was a birthday. They asked for credit card details to make the booking! I didn't give mine but booking still was acknowledged. There were only a handful of tables occupied and yet people who hadn't booked were being turned away as they said they were "fully booked". This was at 13.15. We waited with waiting staff walking past us to be seated. No front of house to greet us and seat us. Eventually we were shown to seats and given a menu. We queried whether we had been given the right menu as it said "Brunch" , was very limited. Mushrooms on bruchetta, scrambled egg with smoked salmon, avocado and tomato on toasted bread, hummus and flat bread, chicken burger, beefburgers. Tiasred cheese and ham sandwich. Tiadted cheese, ham and egg sandwich. Extras - chips, avocado, eggs, bacon, As I remember. We were hungry so decided to order a plate of 'extras'. Avocado, smoked salmon, poached egg and chips. Not what we had envisaged fir a birthday celebration but thought it would suffice. Also birthday girl was looking forward to a cocktail. "We no longer serve cocktails" ! "We have run out of smoked salmon" "Oh, avocado? Sorry we don't have any" A total disaster and very embarrassing for me who had booked this as a birthday present. If you want a coffee and a pastry and don't mind a wait you'll be fine.

Mixed opinions about Kaya. The decor and setting is superb. Gorgeous conservatory feeling to it But that's the good part Coffee is weak Service is mixed Food is bland Come for the setting, leave for the food

Beautiful venue in a superb location! We visited for our daughter’s 11th birthday meal with a group of friends, staff were friendly and extremely accommodating. Thanks Kaya in the Park, we will be back soon!

Have been going to kaya for a while but recently it seems to be heading downhill (check out other recent reviews). We went here for a celebratory family brunch with a party of 6. We had prams and the staff were clearly not interested in opening the doors or finding a place to leave the prams. When ordering food the menu is limited and rather expensive, £16 for a very small full english. I appreciate food is expensive but when compared with other cafe's/restaurants Kaya's portion sizes leave you wanting more. Addiontally food takes a long time to come out. I must say though the food was good and is consistently good when having eaten on previous occasions. It seems like they are catering for a certain clientele and just dont seem very attentive, nor helpful anymore.

My 3 year old sums it up... "it's actually good" 😂. It's a beautiful cafe in a beautiful location. Well worth a visit.

This place uses to be so busy and bustling. We went on a Saturday lunchtime and it was dead. Service was very slow. It took over an hour before we had any drinks. Very mediocre, if that. Not sure what's happened.

If you want to wait 30 minutes for a coffee then this is the place to go. I also saw a man have an accident on the bench by the food serving hatch, after reporting it to a member of staff it was still there after my 30 minute coffee wait, even though I reminded them twice. I had to stop people sitting in It the whole time I waited. Surely this is basic food hygiene practice? I certainly will not be eating here or waiting for a coffee again.

We waited for 20 mins at the hatch for takeaway coffee with only ONE person infront of us

2 cups of tea in paper cups,milk already added £7.50.So weak it was undrinkable.For that price I expect a decent pot of tea.It couldn't steep because there was so much milk added.Milk should be on the side not added.A man allowed his retriever dog to sit on one of the b3nches at an outside table.Disgusting.I know it is Bank Holiday but if they're going to make tea like that,don't charge more than an artisan tea cafe.As for dogs on seating,that's not acceptable and staff were aware as one was serving at hatch opposite and another member cleared tables. Dreadful.I won't be going again.I'm not the only one complaining about the quality in reviews. Time to improve the offerings.Food is massively overpriced too.£13 for avocado on toast!!!

Service is slow especially if you have children with you and the food is not worth the money, both food and drink are overpriced. The staff don’t seem to care either. Such a shame as it’s a great location and has huge potential. It seems like the owners have either fallen out of love with the business or don’t have the money to run it anymore. With the summer holidays fast approaching they could be so busy but if they don’t continue with the slow service and long wait times I would rather do the short walk into town which I am sure many others would as well.

Area was stunning. Food and service were below par. Our food took an hour to come. They had run out of a lot of things even though we were the first ones there at 9-30 am. We had a their version of a croque monsoir and it was dry with no cheese sauce just cheddar cheese and ham. so, in our opinion this was falsely named. We also had the scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon and some-how the bacon was burnt one end and under cooked the other, the sausage was anaemic and dry and the toast was again dry with no butter and no option to butter. For £16 the portions were also small. Personally, I would recommend going to bills for a cheaper, better cooked and heartier breakfast.

We loved eating our lunch in the orangery beautiful decor, friendly atmosphere and staff were very helpful.

Waited 45 minutes for drinks and over an hour for food. With two small children. We absolutely won’t come back. Ordered a granola bowl and the fruit was frozen solid. Poached egg was overcooked. Children’s food was brought out much later than everyone else’s. Which you just don’t do. Awful.

Beautiful location . Lovely interior. Courteous staff. Lovely food. But experience spoilt by a ridiculously long wait to order and then for the food to be served.

Don't go there hungry or thirsty! When we sat down, my husband pointed out the table felt sticky. We had to wait for 30 minutes to even get our drink order in, and only after we flagged the waiter, who rolled his eyes and acted like it was a huge inconvenience. When our drinks finally arrived, we took the opportunity to order the food, again this was met with hostility. They did not have the lunch menu available, even though it was after noon and only select items from the brunch menu too. It was a full hour between being seated and receiving our food. The food was entirely bland, with fairly small portions. Over-salted fries were the high-point. All of the tables in the conservatory had similar waits to us and had been there for 30+ minutes. While eating, I witnessed what passed for clearing a table: the waitress took the plates off a vacated table and then wiped the table with her bare hand. That's it. No cleaning products, no sanitiser, no towel. I thought surely she would return to finish, nope. Suddenly our sticky table made sense! We paid (almost £70 for 2 people having one course meal and drinks) and got out of there in a hurry.

What dreadful place . Waited 15 minutes for 2 coffees which arrived in paper cups ! told to move when we sat down at table .( no one else turned up so wasn’t booked).croissant put in bag not even on a plate. Asked for sugar and it was thrown at me by untrained youth. Obviously find customers an absolute pain. Service was non existent.

40 pounds, for four small bottles of beer and four small fries, is too much.

Shame on this place! It’s hot out and my 2 kids needed a treat to stay cool. I went up and asked if they made milkshakes. I was told yes. I ordered 2 chocolate milkshakes…. Paid £12! £6each I thought they must be good! Came out in a takeaway coffee cup with no straws. I asked for straws and was told bluntly they didn’t have any. I asked how a child was meant to drink them and I got a shrug and just walked away! I didn’t need to worry as the milkshakes where inedible!!!!!!!! They’d clearly used hot chocolate powder and just mixed with water and milk! It was a powdery watery disgusting concoction! 2 very disappointed children and a really upset parent! Shame on you Kaya! This isn’t the first time we have been let down!

We really wanted to like it here as it is really well located in the park and the building and decor is beautiful and we are looking for our new local cafe having not long moved to the area. Unfortunately this was a real let down. The service was super slow. It took ages for us to be able to order, and then we waited over 45 minutes for toast and eggs. I appreciate that everything is cooked fresh, but it wasn't even particularly busy and that's far too long to wait for a simple brunch. It is very expensive too, e g. If you want avocado and toast with smoked salmon that will be £20 (£13 for the avo toast, £7 for the salmon). We both commented it is more expensive than most the places we frequented in London. To be fair the food was excellent quality when it did arrive, so we might have been semi regulars for an occasional treat if the service had been better. But for those prices I expect much quicker and more efficient service. On the brightside, it is dog friendly inside and out, and they have plenty of highchairs for young kids.

We have been to Kaya a few times as we live in Horsham and it has really gone downhill which is such a shame. The service is shockingly bad. Today we attended as 4 adults for brunch. We all ordered cold drinks which didn’t arrive until half way through our food (one had to be sent back due to being incorrect) despite chasing multiple times. The drinks arrived nearly 50 minutes after we arrived. The food is nice but quite expensive. 2 people didn’t have cutlery which had to be asked for more than once, the pepper grinder didn’t work and another had to be asked for and everything for just SO slow. It was embarrassing. They then had the cheek to put the service charge on the bill which we asked to be removed (something we would never usually do). I think we will find somewhere else next time.

It was nearly £20 just for 2 coffees and 2 slices of cake. We also had to sit outside as there was a sign up stating that you could only sit inside if ordering meals even though there were tables available. When I went inside to use the toilet I saw that the Oat milk used is just Lidl's own brand, I was very disappointed for the price of the coffee.

We attended on a Friday morning for our pre booked table at 10am. I ordered a tap water and my friend ordered a coffee. The coffee arrived but the water did not, so I then ordered a hot chocolate and our food. 15 minutes later I still had no water or hot chocolate. I went to the counter and took my own water and asked them for my hot drink. 20 minutes after arriving it arrived. At 10:35 the waitress said our food wouldn’t be long and asked if we’d like another drink. I thought it would have been nice if it was a complimentary drink but she did not say this and so we declined. By 11am we had no food and no drinks so we left hungry and disappointed. It later materialised after speaking with other unhappy customers who left with us without their food that the workers were prioritising take away orders over sit in customers who often pay a tip at the end of their meal. The customer service was poor, we can’t rate the food because it never appeared. To make matters worse we’d only ordered mushrooms on toast, hardly a strenuous meal and wouldn’t expect it to take over an hour. I think they need to rethink their priorities. It wasn’t even busy, half full at max and throughout the hour there was no food to be seen on any of the tables! Sorry but the pretty decor doesn’t make up for poor service.

We arrived at 9.30am and was told we could not order breakfast until 10am, by then it had filled up. An hour later still no food had arrived and no one else had received their food. Lots of unhappy customers. They cannot cope with people inside as well as takeaway orders. We left after an hour waiting. Such a shame as it’s a lovely place.

On arrival we were not asked if our coffee was to have in or takeaway. We was then served coffee in paper cups, waited quite a while for our pastries, then we wasn't aloud to sit at a table in the conservatory? We was told to sit near the entrance on the high chairs. But unfortunately one of us had a, bad back and the chairs were to high. The lady reluctantly let us sit in the conservatory. But we felt very unwelcomed. When served our pastries we was not given serviettes. No spoon for coffee or offered sugar. Not a very satisfactory visit 😔😔

Food was lovely but was charged £5 for a side of bacon and £4 for avocado. Then they added a service charge on top and handed the bill to us before we had even finished. We had only been there 40mins and it was empty?

Having had an amazing lunch here back in 2022 we were keen to visit again. However, on this occasion the experience fell flat. Hugely over-priced. £16 for a small breakfast squeezed onto a slice of toast. Having to negotiate adding milk to coffee by way of an espresso cup because I guess they’re just too trendy to use an actual jug. Surly waiter. There’s only so long you can get away with relying on your lovely decor and location. You really need to live up to expectations. We won’t be returning.

I used to go to Kaya quite a lot - either for take away or for brunch/lunch. That was about 2 years ago. I think that since then the service has worsened with long waits to be served and for food. I also think that food and drinks are overpriced. Today I got a smoothie, flat white and latte (all take away) and paid £14.70. That is very pricey for 3 drinks. I would have questioned the price but I was busy talking to a friend, so I just paid and left. On another occasion I stayed in and got 2 coffees, a cake (£5) which was burnt at the bottom and was surprised that my bill included a service charge. Another thing that I don’t like is that they charge £1.50 for babyccino which is served in an espresso cup. For that price, I’d expect a full glass of milk.

Absolutely terrible service. Grabbed a coffee the other day and the guy working in there, when I managed to get his attention away from his phone, suggested I pop sugar in my coffee with a fork as there were no clean spoons. No offer to clean a spoon, too busy texting. Sort yourselves out honestly.

Brunch with friends. Lovely decor and menu. Delicious hot chocolate. Quite expensive (£3 for a poached egg to add to mushrooms on toast). Staff were friendly but we were asked to leave as soon as we had paid due to other bookings. However there were 5 vacant tables and noone waiting to be seated.

A very pretty conservatory style cafe right next to the beautiful Horsham Registration office! The interior is very beautiful. Food was tasty but the portions a bit small. The burgers unfortunately do not come with a side of chips so you’ll need to order one separately!

The staff is lazy and rude. The coffees were watery and expensive. Worst coffee I’ve had in my life. Staff seem to be annoyed to serve you and take years to give you the order. Food was meh and also expensive

Sadly over-priced and over-rated. Our brunches were £16 each and it all fit on a single slice of toast. The place is beautiful but it ignores all the small details. Milk in an espresso cup instead of a little jug so that when you pour it, it spills everywhere, no salt & pepper on the table. If this is trendy modern dining then they can keep it.

Came here for a brunch with my sister, Upon entering Kaya, it’s beautiful, furniture is lovely, decor is very instagrammable and welcoming. I originally ordered the waffles but was then informed they didn’t have them in because of a late stock, which I understand so instead I chose the avocado toast, to which the lady asked me if I’d like a fried egg with it, I said yes. The food was ok, nothing amazing but it’s avocado toast, so what can you expect. I wasn’t however informed that the egg I was upsold to, cost £3? It was a hard yolk and cold. My sister also had the English breakfast, which consisted of 3 ingredients on a plate, one of them being a sour sausage which embodied hospital food. It was squished and clearly had been left at the bottom of the freezer too long. The iced coffees were lovely, however, a bill of £44 for some avocado toast, 2 coffees and some egg bacon and sausage seems slightly over priced 🤕

Beautiful cafe. We come from the office everyday for the coffee and occasionally lunch. The interior is very aesthetic and brilliantly decorated. Very friendly staff and a great experience all round.

Had a delightful brunch today. An amazing brunch selection here...it was hard to chose but I went for the waffles with fruit compote, maple syrup and creme fraiche. It did have bacon, but I'm veggie and they were happy to take it off to make the dish veggie. Only downside to the place was that it was hard to catch the waiters sometimes, but it was very busy and they tried their best. Such a pleasant view in this place, was able to see the gardens and dogs walking by. Will definitely return 💖

Dreadful value. Over £19 for 1 piece of toast, scrambled egg, 2 rashers of bacon and 1 small sausage with coffee. And when they brought the ketchup they hadn't even removed the seal

My first visit here was ok but could have been better with a bit more attention to detail. The food was good if a little pricey for what I received. One of the hand wash bottles in the toilet was empty, the waste bin was full, and you are expected to dry hands on what looked like small napkins. I left feeling a little underwhelmed really especially when comparing with many other food outlets in and around town.

Unfortunately I was violently unwell after eating a chicken burger here. I ate all other meals that day at home with my family and was the only one who was sick. I have tried to reach out to Kaya to discuss in multiple ways and heard nothing back. I even spoke to someone who knew about my email and who said they would respond. I don’t feel that they have taken my complaint seriously, which is concerning.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff sorted out a perfect table for us including my elderly father who was in a wheelchair. Great food.

Nice coffee, amazing cake, dry croissant. The staff was great with us but we were very sad to see how they treated an older gentleman. Both staff members were clearly not treating him like the other customers. It felt like he was not trendy enough to be there, too old. That really shocked us and therefore will not go again.

Second time going to Kaya in the park this year and second time being disappointed by the unfriendly staff here. My friend met me here and in the pouring rain they refused to open the second door (double doors) as her pram couldn’t fit on one opening. Watching her struggle with this and not helping despite the rain and informing her to go round to the other side of the building was purely awkward when we saw on the way out you could in fact open the second door. She was soaked on arrival from just her car. Babies clearly don’t fit the ‘aesthetic’ here as the changing facilities were tired and unclean with directions to put nappies in a bin that didn’t exist (unless a wire basket by the door counts…). The service from the man who took our order was blunt and snooty and we were booted out sharpish to accommodate a booking they had in ‘5 minutes’, but with two babies packing up their things took far longer and no one appeared. It was quite clearly a lie with all but 3 tables in use at that point. Staff aside, the decor is dirty/dusty and the cushions on the chairs stained which is a shame as when we came a couple of years back after not long opening it was such a lovely place. Rediscovering it this year however.. not so much - won’t be bothering again!

Very friendly and attentive staff. They were very helpful with the wheelchair and making sure I was comfortable. The staff were easily able to tell me what I could eat that was gluten and dairy free, they could modify most dishes. All flat access but I didn't see a disabled loo. Also the music was too loud which made talking about difficult sometimes. I would come back here again. Highly recommend.

Popped in for coffee and cake which we decided to takeaway. We were made to feel very unwelcome by the staff who made it clear that they did not want our pram inside commenting that they could not open the door (which had previously not been an issue) and made us wait outside in the cold and wet. The staff were really unfriendly and unwelcoming and coffees were cold.

The ambiance is superb, I highly recommend😃the food was amazing and the service was fantastic

Went into liquidation owing local companies money

Today we visited for breakfast the tomatoes on toast with feta and poached eggs was outstanding. Service was good and hot chocolate was lovely highly recommend a great start to a relaxing day.

Quite a poor experience here. My advice would be not to go if you or your children are hungry. More than a 50 minute wait for the food for us the other day. The staff didn't make us aware of the wait time as we were seated and placed our order. Afterwards the lady serving tried to make it sound as if they'd done us a favour by taking us as we hadn't booked already. We walked away unhappy.

Nice place and the coffee was good HOWEVER, £19.58 for two coffees and two cakes is just too much. I feel ripped off and disappointed. Profiteering at it's worst. Not recomended.

Wonderful place to sit, relax and have a lovely meal. Service was a tad slow but we weren't in a big rush

Starter was incomplete, Turkey burgers were cold, then reheated which made the batter coating inedible. Over priced for the contents. Very disappointing after being recommended by friends. They gave us 20 percent off, but that was after including the service charge! What a cheek.

The drink order was wrong and they messed up loads of elements of our food. No apology at all or goodbye at the end of the visit, despite politeness from us as customers. The restaurant is actually a really nice place to eat and the food was nice when we got it. It’s just a shame the service and attitude of staff was not as you would expect.

The service was appalling. Our drinks were prompt and gave our orders at the same time. After two or three other customers arriving and receiving their orders, we were still sat waiting for ours. The waiter eventually arrived and apologised saying our order wasn’t sent through to the kitchen. The toilets were in a disgraceful condition. Two out of three toilet seats were completely broken and water/urine on all three toilet floors. I would not recommend this cafe nor wish to return.

Unfortunately won't be going back to Kayas in the park. Went early one morning for coffee with friends, wasn't busy but there were dead flies and wasps on the floors, seat cushions and blankets in conservatory were stained and in general the hygiene standards really did let it down.

One of my favs places in the area. I always have a good time at Kaya. Highly recommend

We enjoyed a fantastic Mimosa Brunch today. Service was fantastic, very efficient and friendly staff. Food was delish, had the Avocado on Sourdough bread with tasty and well presented drinks. Beautiful vibe throughout, highly recommend.

Always love it here, great location by the park, beautifully decked out, nice food and drinks options, whether you are having a boozy brunch with friends or a coffee and cake quick stop it has it all.

We used Kaya at the Park for a corporate lunch delivery and entrusted the team to come up with a menu within our budget to cater for circa 60 people and deliver the food to our nearby office. Candice, Benita, Debbie and the entire Kaya team were all so kind and helpful from the start and really wowed us with the quality and selection of food they provided. It was exceptional and you can’t beat Kaya for their creative flair in the kitchen and providing something special. We are still getting feedback from our event and the lunch was the absolute highlight of the two days! Everything was beautifully fresh, beautifully presented on arrival and our specified dietary requirements were catered for with care and attention to detail. Thank you to all the team who worked super hard - we love supporting local and would not hesitate to organise future catering with this amazing bunch. I also look forward to visiting for brunch soon, as the decor and ambience of your venue is so calming and is my happy place (especially love your amazing coffee!) Best wishes, Jo xxx

This is the 2nd time I've been to Kaya in the Park, and wow what a difference! We had to wait over an hour for our food (2 burgers and 1 fries) the burger was dry and not pleasant at all. We did let them know, but they didn't seem to bothered! Even the cocktails had frozen mushy fruit in it. I always try to support local businesses, definitely not this one again! It was a very expensive bad experience.

Was here this morning and ordered a toasted sandwich half an hour later still no sandwich and was told it will be ready in 2 minutes 10 minutes later no sandwich.. had to leave without sandwich or refund as about to get a parking ticket.. I had ample time of parking and didn't think it would take over half an hour for a sandwich 😡

Booked for 12.30pm for lunch! Only two of us ordered a salad and the fish burger! We were warned that there was a wait of approximately 20 minutes! However we waited about 30 minutes only to see our order delivered to the table that was occupied 15 minutes after we came in! It was realised by the staff who did apologise, but overall impression was not great considering! Also if you want to work on that kind of environment try and put a smile on your face and occasionally interact with the customer! Also don’t add on the service charge automatically, as to be honest it’s embarrassing asking for it to be taken off! The food was good, just let down by the incompetence of the staff! Will not be returning!

The food was awful, undercooked bacon, watery overcooked eggs in soggy bread, the only vegan option was unavailable. Toilets were disgusting. Over-priced and massively disappointing, we will not be coming back.

Fabulous place but I feel the staff should be more attentive. We had to catch their attention a few too many times.

£12 odd for a sausage and bacon sandwich and this is what they supplied (see photo). Really not ok. The atmosphere is lovely but quality of food and service has gone completely down hill. I did write to them directly and they offered a free coffee for the trouble… Also a woman in front of me had her card payment not work - Kaya have gone cashless but there is no sign to say this. The staff said she had to pay exact money if it’s cash but she didn’t have it. So she ended up paying more for her food as she gave them the cash and didn’t get any change back.

I have been coming for over two years. My son held his wedding reception here but I think it’s bubble has burst! The menu has not changed and now feels very limited. The portions have got smaller but not the prices. We arrived at 1pm yesterday and got our food at 3pm! It had not been cooked by a chef! The burgers were over cooked and dry. The fried eggs should never have left the kitchen they were rubber, the bacon so hard inedible. My cheeseburger had no cheese. We complained after waiting an hour and a half. Was told there were problems with staff not coming in but were not advised this on arrival. The owners were absent and a Manager who had only was on her third day was completely out of her depth. It was a special occasion for my friends birthday which was spoilt. The Manager did not charge for anything which was appreciated but didn’t undo the disappointing experience. As said at the beginning it was good but now it’s tired and we won’t be going again which is a real pity as in the past loved it.

I have been a regular at Kaya for the last two and half years, always popping in for brunch, coffee or a quick bacon sandwich. I have to say this place is not what it used to be. The quality of the food has dipped, for example a bacon sandwich used to be lovely and a fave of mine, now I no longer order it as it doesn’t have the same taste or quality of meat. It’s just so disappointing, the service has never been great, but I was always prepared to wait before, not now. Shame because the location is great. Also they removed one of the best menu items- dirty fries!

It sounds wonderful but not everyone has hours to spend navigating a tedious website. Just let us speak to a human|

They were very busy, a sunny lunch time in the Summer holidays and staff seemed a bit stressed. I thought the menu were a bit uninspiring. The place itself didn't live up to the lovely photos on the website. I think we'll try somewhere else next time.

Never go here again. Food overpriced. My friend had sausage and bacon on some toast, the sausage was cold and definitely not freshly made. The lady didn't understood the complaint and kept saying they were fresh. Also for our under 2 todler she got that same sausage which is not a child friendly size. There suppose to be a changing facility for babies but the door was closed. Why? My baby has done something I don't want to wait an hour to ask for a key.... I need immediate entry to it! Where is the logic to this? They give you an 1.5h slot to brunch, it takes nearly 1.5h to get the food/drinks out... Very slow service. And the standard reply, oh we are short on staff... Well, time to hire then, no? On complaining they took all the money of the bill, which is a bit excessive, but the response even worse. 'maybe this is not the place for you to visit...' That's the drop that spilled the bucket. Therefore this bad review. Oh and don't forget the cobwebs all over the place! Not very well cleaned. And the toilets are a mess. And no bins in them.

Well…. This review is long overdue! I organised a small surprise tea / afternoon at Kaya in celebration of my mums 80th. What a fabulous event it was. It was a private event in the orangery and the super duo that run the place couldn’t have done us more proud. Some food pics to follow. Highly recommend.

Paid nearly £60 for 4 milkshakes and some chips. The chips were small and dry but condiments cost £1.50 per small pot so we opted out. The service was slow despite there being a lot of staff and half the restaurant being empty (the outside was closed due to bad weather). This used to be my favourite place in Horsham but the food quality and service have drastically diminished. So, despite the gorgeous deco and ambiance, I will not be going back.

Waited 45mins for our lunch and whilst the food was nice it was one of the most overpriced meals I’ve ever had. The waffle was £14 and for that price I was expecting something really quite lovely. It was one small waffle on a plate with a rasher of bacon and some fruit. Daylight robbery. For that I don’t recommend this place I’m afraid.

Food is massively over priced for the poor quality and tiny portion sized dust of a meal! Staff seemed fo forget our group existed with workers regularly coming over to take our food and drink order 45 minutes after we initially placed our order.

Food is good and lovely decor. Unfortunately, service is slow. We waited far too long for our meals which wasn't ideal as we had 2 kids. When we first chased our order noone came back to us. At the end there was no apology and in fact when we mentioned it as feedback we were told that it states on the Menu that everything is freshly prepared. Which I would expect at that price, no excuse. Employ more staff, accept fewer bookings or at the very least warn people of the long wait. Shame, this place could be so lovely.
