Tropic Bar in Cherwell - Phone Number, Reservations, Reviews

I'm not usually one to write reviews but felt I had to on this occasion. There were around 12 of us attending the bottomless brunch with only three staff behind the bar, one serving, one, I presume manager and the one poor guy that had to keep up with our bottomless cocktails, I couldn't fault these but our Caribbean dinner was appalling, the meals arrived on paper plates, with plastic forks and napkins which were just purchased from Sainsbury's as we arrived, I know this because we saw the manager come back with them, OK not a big deal, but the food was far from Caribbean, and looked like "Mum had gone to Iceland" the Jerk chicken burger came with the tiniest bit of Jerk sauce, the curries were more like Chinese and Indian microwave meals, and the veggie spring rolls came with chips, not the Caribbean rice as advertise, no sauce and deep fried, these were inedible. When we requested vinegar this came out in a pot, I'm not sure, other than dipping our chips in this how we were meant to eat it. The price of £32 was overpriced, I WOULD NOT recommend the bottomless brunch at Tropic bar, stick to cocktails Tropic

I visited this place whilst staying in Bicester. The cocktails were very good, and had a generous portion of alcohol, unlike other cocktail places! Small, and unfussy, but nicely decorated.

Great place for cocktails in town! Friendly service 2-4-1 and the best strawberry daiquiri I’ve had this side of the Atlantic! Place was empty which is a shame but the atmosphere was still good. Good music and vibes here.

Small cocktail bar, the menu appears varied enough and happy hour meant 2 for £12. The venue is a little small with around 8 tables. The menu looks decent but didn't eat so can't comment on quality.

The best cocktail bar in Bicester, without a doubt! As soon as we arrived Me and my family were kindly welcomed by the owner, Clarisse. We had the best Pornstar Martini’s, mojitos and Long Island ice tea’s of ours lives, made by the barman Diogo. We had an awesome time here! We will for sure be back soon ❤️

This is the best place for cocktails in Bicester. Gorgeous decor, feels very tropical in there. Good tunes and really lovely staff, they are the best. Thank you guys that were working last night, especially the lady who I think was the boss (blonde hair)😘 you were all so helpful and friendly ❤️

Yes the delivery may have taken a little longer than initially estimated but it was well worth the wait. I had ordered Goat Curry with Rice n Peas and I loved it! will definitely be ordering again.

Let me start with the kitchen staff and the food. The food (curry goat) was delicious as usual. Now, I will speak about the lady in the photo and their customer service. I have been a customer since they used to serve food from their black & green food truck. The food, service & prices were amazing. They recently moved into this location a few months ago from their food truck. They have not been in an actual building for years. The reviews that are listed having them at this location for years are all lies and paid reviews. Tonight's experience was terrible all because I inquired about the surcharge fee and prices for their soft drinks. The menu price was £1.50, but the lady changed it on the spot to £3.25 and responded that they only serve soft drinks to take-away customers. This wasn't my first time visiting this spot, but it was my first seeing and interacting with this employee. When checking out to pay for my food, I asked about the different prices like I do at every restaurant and store. Apparently, I wasn't supposed to ask her about what I was being charged versus the menu price because she suddenly got irate, called me several names, and asked me to never return. Her behavior was a result of a customer asking to confirm the price of their menu items before paying. For comparison, Saturday 23 Dec, I at the same food in London, which is a more expensive location and an area where the cost of living is higher. The same food, drinks, and surcharge were cheaper than this location. She overloads her cocktails and alcoholic drinks with ice, juice, or soda to limit the amount of alcohol she gives, trying to stretch each bottle of alcohol. It took her 20 minutes to make a frozen drink and added no alcohol. We sat down and ordered our drinks and food. A group of 10 people came in 7 minutes after we did. The group ordered their drinks, had them made, delivered, and finished before we received our only alcoholic frozen drink. For anyone thinking about stopping here to try their food or drinks, think twice and make sure they do not try to overcharge you with their prices. If the lady in the photo is there, do not waste your time.

The best Caribbean in Bicester and the only Caribbean in Bicester food and portion is great they need to step up their spice, though apart from that, they get a 7/10 for now good stuff good food.

I had my birthday party with my friends last night at tropic! We tried the new caribbean food menu also some amazing cocktails! I really recommend a visit!

Just saw a beautiful bar in Bicester with a great ambience!

We heard about the new Caribbean menu and had to try. My partner and I are from the Turks and Caicos Islands and crave food from home! It was so good with great cocktails too. Good value for money and good music!

Terrible arrogant DJ who only cared about the staff and managed to clear out the whole place. Could be a great bar with lovely bar staff. But the dj needs the sack.

Had a great night in Tropic this evening! Fantastic cocktails served by a lovely young women called Tatiana. They’ve just started offering a Caribbean food service so I thought I take some home to try. Wow, topped off my evening perfectly….will definitely be going back! :)

40th birthday party not happy pre booked, no bottle of fizz instead serve us lemonade and didn't say We was not best pleased.

Booked a table - but didn’t need to! Ordered two pina coladas however served in different glasses Our shoes were stuck to the floor & the whole place was freezing-could only stay for one drink as it was so cold in there

We had an amazing bottomless brunch with real and strong cocktails, a grazing board which was lovely and the best service we could have asked for. Clarisse was an absolute star. Everything was amazing we will be back. Don't let the look of the outside deter you it's a great experience inside.

Such a quirky little place, friendly staff and delicious cocktails! The cocktails are a little pricey, hence the loss of one star. It would be nice to have shorter drinks slightly lower in cost but it would definitely not stop me coming back for more!

Staff are really friendly and helpful, even when you make a mess! They have a great range of cocktails, so you're bound to find something you like! Some could argue that the prices are rather high, but I say it's worth it!

went with my friend for the evening - the place was so wonderfully decorated, just like a tiki hut and so well put together. our bartender/waitress Gemma was welcoming and very bubbly which made us feel comfortable. the drinks were fantastic! the best pornstar martini i’ve ever had! friend had a sex on the beach which she absolutely loved. the menu was really cute and the whole vibe was really really fun. we had such a great time, would definitely go back!!

Used to come here as one of the latest places serving in Bicester. good place for cocktails, but do not recommend if you want a nice whiskey, vodka.

Friendly atmosphere, deals at happy hour. Nibble platters are available but no other food.

The beach cocktail bar in the middle of bicester is a nice little place just missing the sea and sand. You can get snacks and a whole load of cocktails here,look for the happy hour deals or groupon as we did. We went on a Wednesday night it was very quiet.

I could not recommend the cocktails enough in here, really are great. I haven't tried their food so I cannot comment, but not sure I would give it a go. There is a very strong odour, not an unclean one, but a musty one, which is strange as they haen't been open that long. The place needs some ventilation, open all doors during the day, to get some air in please !!

Although we had 2 vouchers, only one member of staff on till 8 on a friday night, so could only use one! And again for the second time they ran out of prosecco, and we only had one bottle! Not good enough

This is a gem in Bicester. The drinks are absolutely delicious and very well composed. The ambiance is very unique, you feel relaxed as if you will be greeted by the sea and the beach when you leave. The people that come to the bar are very friendly, which is matched by the outstanding service by the lovely owners. On Thursday they have salsa night which is a fun opportunity to meet such amazing people. This is one of the first places I go when i'm in the mood for a drink.

Took my girlfriend here last week on a night out, awesome place, great vibe, fantastic atmosphere, drinks perfectly mixed and reasonably priced, and they fill the glass up until its practically pouring down the sides, superb value for money, friendly staff, decent sized dancefloor with plenty of seating too, decent music thats not so unbearably loud that you cant hear each other, step outside and your right onto a main bus stop and taxi rank, what more could you ask for, cant fault the place at all, my girlfriend absolutely loved the place, we shall definately be visiting again soon!!

Came here last night for some cocktails as we were disappointed at another bar in Bicester. This time we had various varieties and we all enjoyed them. Quite expensive but an enjoyable time.

This is a truly amazing little cocktail bar in the centre of Bicester. It looks nothing from the outside and you could easily walk past it. Once inside though you immediately get a sense of warmth, comfort, ambience and relaxation. There is a vast selection to choose from on the cocktail menu, all the drinks are beautifully presented by gentle and friendly staff who go out of there way to make you feel comfortable.

Nothing wrong with the place, I'm just not target demographic.

Nice little cocktail bar just outside the main town centre. Ideal if you are looking to get a bus into Oxford and fancy a few cocktails beforw you head in. The only downside is the cocktails aren't cheap and we visited on a Saturday night at around 10:30/11:00pm and it wasn't very busy so lacked atmosphere. People of Bicester please support your small local businesses. If you don't use them you will lose them! I will certainly be going back. My better half loved the cocktails!

I went to this bar couple of times, but always the Great service by Portugués girl and an Amazing tasty, properly made cocktails. It’s a small town but you will be surprised!! It’s better then some of the cocktail bars in bigger cities!!!👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Cocktails are brilliant! Very friendly atmosphere. Chairs are a bit too hard to sit on, need to get there early for the big tables at the back.

Amazing little bar. The cocktails are delicious and quite reasonably priced compared to other places, and the food is amazing! The service is great, so friendly and accommodating. I love the decor too. The only slight issue is that it gets very busy on weekends and there is only one unisex toilet for the whole bar, but we had so much fun I’m giving 5 stars anyway. Will keep coming back!

Great bar with friendly staff, super cocktails and delicious tapas. The jugs of sangria are very good and great value. The porn star martinis and pina coladas are also particularly good. Food wise the tapas board of fresh bread, cheese and meats with olive oil was delicious as was the chorizo in red wine, the garlic and chilli prawns and the calamari with home made dip. Home made chips also a highlight. Try here for superb cocktails, friendly staff and delicious tapas in a tropical setting!

This is my new favorite place to eat in Bicester, by far the best food. Lots of cocktails, the Tapas is amazing and staff are really friendly and welcome. I highly recommend whether for a bite to eat or a few cocktails in the evening.

Returned for a trip tonight with my girlfriend, her mum and a family friend. Well themed cocktails including Black Widow, Witch’s Hat etc to name a few and lively atmosphere with polite and friendly staff. Low waiting times and delicious drinks 👌🍸

This is a cracking little bar, with a real Portuguese feel about it, from the Super Bock beer on tap, the decor, little tapas treats to the very friendly staff!

We took friends with us to experience the atmostphere of this unique place in the centre of Bicester. We ordered a few days in advance a mixed paella for 4 and we were blown away just how good it was.

Stumbled across this place due to friends and family members,plesently suprised that something like this actually existed in bicester,it's what the place needs,something different!The bar staff were friendly and very professional,very relaxed atmosphere,amazing food and very nice cocktails (porn star martini is my favourite) and they offer sangria (white or red),they even brought out a tapas plate when I sat down,wonderful place :)

A cocktail bar in an unusual location. Good music, service and reasonably priced drinks.....next to the bus stops in Manorsfield road which prohibits outdoor seating which would be a bonus.
