Good value food, with some money saving offers. Sometimes the kitchen is a little slow and it's a customer favourite for watching football on the screens so some days can be extra busy or noisy. Spacious garden.

Only here for the week and have eaten here every night. Good food and beer at decent prices.

We haven't gone to the White Horse for years due to the poor service in the past but after our daughter told us about the change in management we thought we'd have a look. We've never seen it look so good. The service and the level of hospitality was amazing. Ashleigh took the time to come talk to us and was incredibly friendly. We went in for one and stayed for three we were having so much fun. Love the improvements hope it carries on going well for them as it seems to be getting pretty popular.

Popped into The White Horse in Bicester and was pleasantly surprised. The food is classic pub grub done right—big portions, tasty, and great value. The double bacon cheeseburger is a winner, and there’s even a nice menu for kids and seniors. The staff were lovely—super friendly and checked in just the right amount. The place has a relaxed, welcoming feel, and it’s dog-friendly too, which is a bonus. If you’re after a laid-back meal with solid food and service, this spot is definitely worth a visit.

Came in today to watch the Chelsea game later on, great venue beautiful beer garden, it’s a very clean pub, I was served by the landlady Ashley, very professional and quick with serving, overall a great pub to visit

The food is excellent and the £5 burger deal is really good value for money and the staff are really friendly and chatty and make you feel welcome all the staff treat you as a individual and they remember what allergy you have and are very knowledgeable about what desert are ok to have. We come in at least once a week as we feel welcome and not a outsider. Have also recommended this pub to family and friends as the meal deals are really good value.

Unfortunately, looking at all the other reviews, we have had a poor experience here. Waited 10 minutes to get served for drinks and the bar tender came out on his phone, clearly distracted. We were told we couldn’t order food as the chef had to leave for a family emergency which is fair enough; but we came for food. We shall try again as I can clearly see the owner has turned this place around but I can only be honest

Came in for lunch and wow what an improvement! New management is great amd the atmosphere is so much better. Great to see the pub busy again.

Went in the pub today 24/12/24 had fish and chips and very nice as well we had apple crumble and custard the man who served us was a gem very polite and very good at his job we will not hesitate to visit again I think the man's name was Bob well done sir

Came in as a female alone to watch the football. Had a lovely welcome from Kat who made me feel at ease straight away. She knew who was waiting and also who was next which is brilliant. Very chatty with people and also professional. Made the whole evening a pleasure. Also cold Prosecco, great choice of drinks and it was £5 burger special night!!! Definitely recommend this place, and the staff made it amazing.

The white horse is a terrible place to go if you’re looking for quick meal because the burgers are dry and they don’t even have that much flavour. The lasagna is burn on both ends in my experience and the bread of the burger is toasted and is completely dry.

Come in here very often for food and to socialise, atmosphere is always amazing and all the staff go above and beyond! Food is great quality and it’s dog friendly pub so this is also great. Highly recommend

Visited on 25th December for Christmas dinner service excellent food mostly good apart from the vegetables which in our opinion (4 in party) were not completely cooked as always veg very hard and some green beans still had part of the stalk attached

I love this pub, as a Bicester resident, this is my go to. Good mates, good pints, good fruities, good people, good pool tables and darts. God bless the white horse.

Went for food here today, lasagne was mush & the “English breakfast” was burnt toast which was solid, a spoonful of beans, 1 piece of bacon which had a pool of black oil under it, 1 and a half sausages, which one was not fully cooked, 1 burnt tomato and chips. The food was practically inedible and has made me ill since. Would never come back.

We recently popped in for a Sunday lunch (15th September 2024). We were the only people in there ordering food. Waited 1hr and a half for food to arrive. We weren't told there would be a wait and on top of this other people who arrived after us received their food before us. Really poor service and not impressed.

Had the steak, very well cooked, added the wings as well, very full now. Already picked tomorrow's meal. Thanks team see you tomorrow.

Kitchen was due to open at 6 but was late opening due to lack of staff. When open, only 15mins late, my first two choices of dinner were not available. After 35/40 mins I asked if dinner would be long to be told there had been a problem in the kitchen but dinner would be out soon. A free drink was offered and declined as time was tight. Food was ok but not as nice as I’d have hoped.

The pub has come a long way and finding more way to do better

Very cosy pub with friendly welcoming staff and atmosphere. Food is always cooked well and very tasty. Drinks and food are very reasonably priced. Never had many issues in this pub but when they have occured the staff are always quick to resolve the issues. Seats are comfortable and the selection of live sports and music are great. Good area with pool tables and dart boards. The local customers are also very friendly. Pub is near a co-op and laundrette as well as a chinese and chip shop if you need to grab anything on the way home. would definitely recommend a visit. :) New manager is an absolute star.

It's not a bad pub, pretty affordable when it comes to drinks, a good choice as well. But, when I ordered food, I waited almost one hour for a portion of chips, not sure how long it takes to fry some chips but shouldn't take an hour surely? Also, couldn't play darts because they had darts missing.

Pensioners meal, 2 courses £6.00 odd. Being treated by a family member so had no choice. Dirt cheap and most offerings deep fried. However, I couldn't have starter with a dessert! Would have thought that would save them money. Greasy smell, dirty menus, split upholstery. Soup stone cold and it wasn't gazpacho. Salad well past its best. Glad I wont need to go there again

I visited here the other day after hearing there has been a manager change and you could really tell! Ashleigh has really changed the whole atmosphere of the pub and it’s changing for the better. I will be visiting again soon

Went this morning to meet up with friends as I am aware that they open at 11am. Got there, closed and in darkness, a couple of locals are there and are telling me that they are supposed to open at 11am but there is no sign on the door and nothing to explain why they are not open. This was for a group of around 8 lads who were fed up with our current watering hole and were looking for a new place to meet up and have drinks. I also understand that this is a big sports pub which would have been great as we are all footy mad. We won't be looking at coming back here again after our 1st time trying this place got us nowhere!!!! Oh well off to town to try that out!!!

Brought 2 friends to this pub last year. I highly recommended this place to my friends, as I had positive experiences in the past. But we waited an hour for food to be served. My friend complained to the staff but wasn't give an explanation for the delay . This was obviously an embarrassing experience for me, having recommended the place to my friends. This week, I returned on my own and ordered food and a drink. After 40 minutes and twice asking politely why the delay, I still hadnt received my food. I was running short of time and felt so annoyed, I just told the staff Iwas walking away without receiving my meal. Again, there was no explanation given for the delay. I didn't notice anybody else having a meal, and the pub wasn't very busy. Lost my money and had my evening spoilt. Either your kitchen is a shambles or you're only interested in looking after your regulars.. Appalling customer service. I will never go back there.

Arrived at 7PM. There was barely anything available from the menu. Anytime I went to the bar to order something new, turned out they were out of at least half the items ordered. Would not recommend. EDIT: after my one star rating, the proprietor reached out to me to apologize for the inconvenience and offer us a meal. As we were visiting the UK we won't take up on the offer, but we appreciate the gesture, hence the two star review.

Went for lunch with the family after reading reviews and thought we would give it a go although short staffed the man behind the bar was very professional and kept the drinks flowing and serving food at the same time was a pleasure to see.we had two Sunday lunches a hunters chicken and kids meal all of which were very good price point I would be happy to pay double great lunch will definitely be back

We organised a company lunch here and it was lovely. We had pre-ordered, and the food came out within half an hour of our arrival. The food portions were a great size and excellent value for money. It was great that they also had vegan options. Thank you!

At the odd hours they will say they are not serving food ,when they do serve food it’s really good and good portions too ,service is just Ok

Some of the food was cold , it took a long time to arrive at the table, in fact if I had not gestured to indicate that we were still waiting I really don't know how long we would have had to wait . The manager did not approach us to deal with the complaint. I certainly have reservations about going there again for a meal

We have been to this pub many times and normally pretty good but We visited this afternoon the service was terrible we ordered food which took 20 mins to arrive then when the food arrived it was cold and we was told this was because it had been sat in the kitchen but no one brought it out to us, we raised our concerns to the young girl behind the bar who just told us there was nothing they could do, its such a shame that today's visit was a bad one and thought they would of at least offered us some sort of compensation but instead nothing was offered, won't be visiting again purely for the service provided today won't recommend to friends or family, terrible service

Affordable good food Sunday roast wad good.

Strangely I had gave this a review I hadn't? So not sure what gone on there. Any hoo, we visited there for Lunch. The food was great my Mrs couldn't eat the whole plate as full up 😁 Great service, staff helpful and attentive. The food we went for the Burgers where great, obviously cooked to order, the chips where exactly how we like them. Felt sorry for a staff member falling over in the garden hurt her ankle. Outside extremely nice, didn't really go inside, other than through to garden area or inside to pay, what I did see was the sheepskins and nice clean dining experience. You can see why its busy.

The only real reason to come here is to have a catch up with your friends (although there are plenty of other nicer pubs to meet up at) Let’s be real, it is a Greene king pub so don’t set your expectations too high BUT we went for the chicken dish where you got to choose 2 types of chicken, 2 sides and a sauce for £8.49. We didn’t come across many problems with ordering except there was only the Louisiana chicken strips to choose from. When I ordered the 2 sides (Mac and cheese and garlic bread) I asked if I could also order a separate side of corn on the cob. “No you can only order 2 sides” granted he might not of understood me but I think the appropriate answer would of been “sure there is an extra charge for that is that ok” the drinks were a disaster too. Lemonade and lime and a lemonade and orange. The server just couldn’t really comprehend what he needed to do. The food comes out woo hoo… or not woo hoo. The garlic bread had been left under a heat lamp for 3 days and was stale and dry as anything. The max and cheese (as you can see from the video) was the most watered down dish ever, the corn was boiled so much it had no flavour and the chicken strips. Well they were actually passable with a bit of sauce. Even the chef agreed with us that it was all rubbish! We won’t be returning.

This was my favourite local. Got to say it's gone right downhill!!! The beer garden looks unappealing and uninviting. Spend some money on it and get it looking decent again. It's long overdue for a refurb. Sort it out Green king!!! This pub is in a great location and could potentially gain more customers just by making it look better inside and out. The fence surrounding the garden is in a terrible state of disrepair and hardly inviting to families with kids

We’d driven from the south coast & this was on the route home. Greene King pubs are usually lovely & dog friendly. However on reaching here, what a let down. The outside is very shabby looking & run down - not very welcoming. Went in anyway, to be told they weren’t doing any more food - at 2.15pm?😳Didn’t look appealing inside either, so left & went elsewhere. Poor👎🏻

Lovely place. My friend and I visited for a lunch on a Wednesday, we do not live locally and both of us tend to avoid pubs for the most part but visiting the White Horse was a wonderful experience. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, food was priced extremely well and there were plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. I'll definitely be visiting again if I find myself in Bicester on a week day.

Good pub inside, but outside would make people think twice. Food poor and lots of choice unavailable. Good prices on beers.
