We organised a company lunch here and it was lovely. We had pre-ordered, and the food came out within half an hour of our arrival. The food portions were a great size and excellent value for money. It was great that they also had vegan options. Thank you!

At the odd hours they will say they are not serving food ,when they do serve food it’s really good and good portions too ,service is just Ok

Some of the food was cold , it took a long time to arrive at the table, in fact if I had not gestured to indicate that we were still waiting I really don't know how long we would have had to wait . The manager did not approach us to deal with the complaint. I certainly have reservations about going there again for a meal

We have been to this pub many times and normally pretty good but We visited this afternoon the service was terrible we ordered food which took 20 mins to arrive then when the food arrived it was cold and we was told this was because it had been sat in the kitchen but no one brought it out to us, we raised our concerns to the young girl behind the bar who just told us there was nothing they could do, its such a shame that today's visit was a bad one and thought they would of at least offered us some sort of compensation but instead nothing was offered, won't be visiting again purely for the service provided today won't recommend to friends or family, terrible service

Affordable good food Sunday roast wad good.

Strangely I had gave this a review I hadn't? So not sure what gone on there. Any hoo, we visited there for Lunch. The food was great my Mrs couldn't eat the whole plate as full up 😁 Great service, staff helpful and attentive. The food we went for the Burgers where great, obviously cooked to order, the chips where exactly how we like them. Felt sorry for a staff member falling over in the garden hurt her ankle. Outside extremely nice, didn't really go inside, other than through to garden area or inside to pay, what I did see was the sheepskins and nice clean dining experience. You can see why its busy.

The only real reason to come here is to have a catch up with your friends (although there are plenty of other nicer pubs to meet up at) Let’s be real, it is a Greene king pub so don’t set your expectations too high BUT we went for the chicken dish where you got to choose 2 types of chicken, 2 sides and a sauce for £8.49. We didn’t come across many problems with ordering except there was only the Louisiana chicken strips to choose from. When I ordered the 2 sides (Mac and cheese and garlic bread) I asked if I could also order a separate side of corn on the cob. “No you can only order 2 sides” granted he might not of understood me but I think the appropriate answer would of been “sure there is an extra charge for that is that ok” the drinks were a disaster too. Lemonade and lime and a lemonade and orange. The server just couldn’t really comprehend what he needed to do. The food comes out woo hoo… or not woo hoo. The garlic bread had been left under a heat lamp for 3 days and was stale and dry as anything. The max and cheese (as you can see from the video) was the most watered down dish ever, the corn was boiled so much it had no flavour and the chicken strips. Well they were actually passable with a bit of sauce. Even the chef agreed with us that it was all rubbish! We won’t be returning.

This was my favourite local. Got to say it's gone right downhill!!! The beer garden looks unappealing and uninviting. Spend some money on it and get it looking decent again. It's long overdue for a refurb. Sort it out Green king!!! This pub is in a great location and could potentially gain more customers just by making it look better inside and out. The fence surrounding the garden is in a terrible state of disrepair and hardly inviting to families with kids

We’d driven from the south coast & this was on the route home. Greene King pubs are usually lovely & dog friendly. However on reaching here, what a let down. The outside is very shabby looking & run down - not very welcoming. Went in anyway, to be told they weren’t doing any more food - at 2.15pm?😳Didn’t look appealing inside either, so left & went elsewhere. Poor👎🏻

Lovely place. My friend and I visited for a lunch on a Wednesday, we do not live locally and both of us tend to avoid pubs for the most part but visiting the White Horse was a wonderful experience. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, food was priced extremely well and there were plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. I'll definitely be visiting again if I find myself in Bicester on a week day.

Good pub inside, but outside would make people think twice. Food poor and lots of choice unavailable. Good prices on beers.

We have been here several times on vacation. Very quaint, cozy pub. The service was very nice, the food was rich, tasty and not too expensive. The beer selection is quite good. We'd love to come back

Best Fish and Chips I have had in a long time. Great little pub for a pint and meal. Large inside and outside sitting area. This place is worth stopping by if you're in the area.

Poor lad behind the bar should be made manager, he do a better job than the one now… got to pub to order food for 3p.m told have to wait a hour as manager having break but then get told again at 4 pm another half hour wait as manager wants do a spot check… but food was good

Went here Tuesday lunch time with a small group of friends during the school team, the food was delicious and staff were friendly however the service was super slow despite it being quite.

Great atmosphere great value for money

We decided to go out for an impromptu dinner and tried to White Horse for the first time. Staff were very friendly. We both really enjoyed the chicken burger. Plenty of food, well cooked. We both commented on how good the chips were. Pleasant environment. Would recommend to anyone looking for good value pub food.

The smell of urine from the toilets put me off off ordering food and the lemonade was flat even after getting drinks replaced

Top Mark's again, friendly and fast service, with only 30 minutes before meeting members of the family, a great pint and a delicious pizza had been consumed with time to spair.

Wow Jackie is an asset you should hold on to! She is such an amazing staff member and is nearly the only reason we come here! Although the Sunday lunch is pretty spot on! A shame that today we witnessed someone changing a nappy on the seat in front of us! Luckily we had finished eating otherwise it would have been a different story! I know you guys can’t help the kind of custom that gets brought into your pubs unfortunately.. But despite this £6 for your Sunday lunch is a bargain for my grandparents!

Beer not always the greatest but can't fault the staff and the bbq covered chicken wings with chess doritos crumbled over top top are amazing.

Food orders don't always come out and if it does it's usually incorrect and staff can be quite defensive and rude.

Not impressed. Food and drinks ordered online. After half an hour I had to go to the bar to see where our drinks were. They were brought over a few minutes later. Another 10 mins and one of three meals came out. An hour after ordering I had to chase the other two meals. They eventually came out but weren't anything special. This is the second time this has happened so won't happen again. The excuse of being busy isn't really valid when less than half the tables are taken and most people are drinking. Also, a trainee chef is being trained isn't a valid reason for delays, surely whoever is training can also cook? Unfortunately the "new menu" is lie! The menu was the same as the last few weeks. At the time I was told it was a new chef, but now I'm told it was a new menu.

Took the family out for a meal and the food was amazing. Great portions and a good variety to choose from. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back to try out the roasts on a Sunday

Lovely Sunday lunch, value for money

Medieval era pub experience just few miles outside Bicester. Perfect place to spend an afternoon with your dear ones. Don’t forget to visit the nearby church which is more than 500 years old. Perfect surrounding and the weather in December when we went there was kind of dreamy. Thanks Adrian Shooter sir (ex CEO Chiltern Railway) for the treat.

Had dinner here and food was good and friendly staff behind the bar. It always seems to be popular with locals calling in for a drink or two.

The food here is very cheap and you get large portions BUT it’s HIGHLY PROCESSED food except for the steak, jacket potatoes and side salad. There is no clean, healthy food, which is available to eat, everything is fried or highly processed!! I tried to eat the apple crumble today and that too was an absolute disaster. There was so much sugar in the crumble topping it made my teeth stand on edge, it was inedible, again it was highly processed quickly heat up food. I don’t understand why so many pubs insist on not offering healthy alternatives, food properly made from scratch, not bulk bought in?? We are all getting the message from our doctors about eating healthier for our own health and how highly processed food will affect our health and how long we live because of the food choices we make! I don’t understand why some pubs aren’t getting this message that it’s customers would like to eat far better quality of food, which isn’t deep fried, highly processed and is healthy. I’m not talking about just serving up salads, but a range of healthy food alternatives. I feel physically sick eating highly processed food and talking to other people I’m not the only one!! A lot of people have dietary issues and health issues and don’t want to be served up a heart attack on a plate or those who suffer from diabetes have their blood sugar go through the roof because of how much sugar is in their food! Also I was also stunned that a large orange juice and lemonade was just over £3.60 a glass! I know my comments will go on deaf ears, because this pub is probably owned by a pub chain but it’s about time we make our voices heard to management that we want to buy good quality non processed healthy food we can enjoy! I am prepared to pay extra money for better food. I would like to live longer too by being able to make the right food choices.

Stopped off halfway to London for lunch. Fairly standard menu but then pleasantly surprised by quality and value, two meals for £11.49 plus sides and we were all full. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Really friendly place to be, great for families too. The food is such good value and you can still enjoy discos and karaoke occasionally with the opportunity for pool and Darts daily.

All I can say about this place is it’s a little gem. We booked for a family meal of 8 people and upon arriving we were immediately made to feel welcome. We put our orders through in advance and everything from start to finish was excellent. The food was brilliant, the atmosphere was good service was outstanding and all the staff were amazing. A special mention to Malcolm for the food and Amy and Hannah for looking after us for the evening. The family absolutely loved it. We will be back!!!!

Just popped in for a drink with my wife. A local guy, who followed us in, was served before us. Not made to feel welcome. A group of people stopped to stare at us, not a great experience.

Good value for money for excellent food

I got a sirloin steak and chips. It was seriously poor quality and not very well presented, it would seem that very little effort went into it. The steak was overcooked and the chips were undercooked. This is quite possibly the worst place for food I've been to in Bicester. I definitely would never order food from there again.

Absolutely lovely. Very surprised how nice the food was for the cost. The main gentleman who was around was great and very polite and professional. Yeah 5* boom. Keep it up. We are not local but very happy to leave you a review as a guide on Google. 👍

You pay for what you get.Cheap and cheerful pub. We ordered food and it arrived fairly quickly. The steak was cooked to perfection.The service was a bit rubbish when I asked for a soda water and it simply didn't turn up however the manager came over to apologies and all was forgiven.The decor is tired and the customer base is your typical football fan crew. Its clearly there to serve a value proposition and it does that well. DO NOT HAVE A FIRST DATE HERE. But I got away with a cheeky Friday date night on a budget!!Overall the pub ain't trying to be something it isnt and I have a lot of time for that
