Took my mum here for her birthday for a roast. She loved it. Food was great and service was good. Portions are a little small.

I enjoyed a Make your own Panini; which involved goats cheese, pepper and some caramalized onion. I really appreciated the time taken to prepare and present; the coffee was good as well. Very good food at a very decent price.

We needed some lunch whilst in the area, so called at 'Troff', Hubby chose pie & peas and a coffee, I went for the small breakfast without beans, there was plenty of other items on the plate ;- bacon, sausage, fried egg, mushrooms, tomatoes & fried bread with buttered toast, I had a large tea too. The meals were tasty and reasonably priced, around £8.50, Bargain!. Since our last visit they've had a makeover with natty tables the chairs fit snugly around, and also the loo's been treated to a wash & brush up. A friendly well run cafe, handy for the shopping area of Milnsbridge.

Calling before one of our trips to ALDI, We had lunch at 'Troff', I chose the lasagne meal which came with a good salad & garlic bread [I declined the chips]. To be honest the generosity of the portion left no room for chips, they would have needed to be served on a seperate plate!. My lunch was delicious, and the salad had nice extras like;- egg, corn, celery & radish all of which I really like. My husband went down the traditional route of eggs & chips for his choice, and he thoroughly enjoyed it too, A mug of tea + coffee were our drinks to go with. We've enjoyed all our meals from Troff up to now and hope to continue doing so. The staff are lovely, and they can cook!

Called for some lunch while on a shopping trip, I decided on a large breakfast [I'd missed mine] I declined the beans & tomatoes, there was still plenty on my plate;- 2 sausage, 2 bacon rashers, 2 eggs, fried bread & lots of mushrooms! It also came with 2 pieces of toast [which I could'nt finish], along with a mug of tea, it was so tasty, so good as I dont have english breakfasts very often. Hubby chose a cheeseburger with chips, the 'bun' was also loaded with fried onions & salad, he really enjoyed it, washed down with a mug of coffee, all this came to about £11, which was a good price for the helpings. We both called to the bathroom before we left to carry on our shopping. The staff are very nice and good cooks too.

A return visit for lunch before shopping at the Milnsbridge Aldi, I'd spotted an interesting sandwich on the menu on our last visit, So I ordered it, 'Special veggie sandwich', It was really tasty, a wholemeal toasted teacake filled with a mixture of hot veggies, with goats cheese & hummus added as 2 lovely dressings. I'm not a vegetarian but this really hit the spot, it was like having your 5 a day all in one delicious meal!. Hubby had the large breakfast, with plenty of the usual elements, with fried bread & wholemeal toast too!, He did'nt quite manage it all, but he really enjoyed it, we had a mug of tea & coffee to go with our meals. The staff are really nice, and chatty, theres a varied menu with a lot of healthy ingredients. 'Troff' is handy for the bus stop, shops & the Aldi store, and theres a cash machine just around the corner opposite Aldi if you need it.

Called for a meal before a midweek shopping trip to Aldi, its only just across the road and very close to the Bus stop. A good choice menu for a small place, the staff were pleasant & efficient. I chose a small breakfast [dont have them very often], When it came to the table, I would'nt have said it was 'small', Sausage,Fried Egg, Mushrooms,Bacon, tomatoes, Beans, Fried bread + Toast!!, all this with a mug of tea for only £4.00 Bargain! Hubby got Pie & Peas with a mug of coffee, these 2 meals were less than £8.50 together!. We were well fed and happy, The loo was spacious & clean, with baby mat, the two handles by the stepway to the loo,are very useful. The cafe was fairly busy with diners and takeaway lunch customers, looking forward to my next visit, to maybe try one of the speciality sandwiches.

I usually go for my lunch on my break at work since it is pretty reasonably priced and is really tasty quick to eat food. Only problem I've had is that I've ended up being back late because it's taken a while for them to make my food, but that is sorted out simply by calling ahead and they are happy to prepare it for when you arrive.

Came across Troff by chance when in Milnsbridge Town. Staff very friendly, premises interesting, all very clean and welcoming. Most importantly to me they did a very tasty Gingerbread latte, along with my vegetarian sausage tea cake(Teacake very fresh). I am working in Milnsbridge for a few Months and will definitely be paying more visits as they have quite an extensive, reasonably priced range of food on offer.

Love love love this place!!!! The staff are so friendly and make you feel so welcome! We have breakfast here once a week at the moment, and the menu for other meals looks mouthwatering... I love the fact that I can get drinks made with any sort of milk, from whole milk to soya milk, low fat spread on sandwiches and toast, gluten free and vegetarian! Nothing is too much trouble!

The food was good. Nice and hot. However service was slow..the first plate took 25min to arrive. Only one person in the kitchen..that may have been the reason!?

I don't think this has been open long but I am glad I tried it. Lovely bacon sandwich and friendly staff. Only problem is parking, it's difficult to find somewhere to park near so you have to park in Aldi which I am not sure is allowed.

Not bad taste wise but the prices are only low due to them using less in their sandwiches. 1 piece of bacon in a £3 panini is a bit of a mick take. I did ask about it and got told more than 1 wouldn't fit! Ok if you do not like bacon in the ends of your panini, but unfortunately i do so as very disappointed!

Popped in one lunchtime at the beginning of November. Great panninis, lots of different fillings, with a coffee for £4. The staff are very friendly and we liked it so much that we went back for breakfast with the kids later that week. Very reasonable prices, breakfast butties starting from £1.80 Good selection of veggie options too.

The cafe it's self is clean and nicely decorated, although it is a little small with only a handful of tables but this only adds to the friendly atmosphere. The staff are welcoming and are clearly customer focused. We were happily surprised not only with the wide selection of delicious food to choose from but the fact that they offer gluten free!We chose a traditional English breakfast which was cooked to perfection and was not greasy. The breakfast came with a complementary cup of tea which was very nice as many places charge extra for this.Overall we are more than happy with our visit and will be calling in again soon!

Went for lunch, my wife had the fish butty and I had the roast beef with onions and gravy. They were brilliant, a lot of fish and beef, and very tasty. Great ale on tap, what more could you want?

This was our 4th outing to this superb restaurant for Sunday lunch. Our friends were as impressed as we were once again. The food was outstanding, the service exemplary and we could not have been treated any more like VIP’s by Francis and his team. The entire experience was indeed just wonderful and we will be back again very soon. Thank you everyone. You’re true professionals.

Booked a table for 4 for 7:30, we arrived on time, were shown to our table swiftly and had good attention from the wait person. However, on booking the website said the table needed to be vacated by 9 [which is actually when they say they close mid-week]. It was 8:30 by the time our food arrived, which if we had had to leave at 9 was a joke. Maybe this was to give you time to buy the expensive drinks. I thought the soft drinks were highly priced. I had to ask twice for mayonnaise with the chips. As another reviewer has noted, it probably is a venue for the younger generation, we were next to a table who were so loud it was difficult to hear each other speak. The burgers were not as filling as I had expected for hand made [I had the Ho Chi Munch [which I thought for a veggie option was overpriced as beetroot is not as expensive as beef] , others had the Boss, the Old Skool & the LTO. I doubt if we'll go again.
