This place is living off the past reputation. the food was good, not anymore, the chicken burgers are hit and miss, barely a full chicken fillet given and out of date drinks. To top it off there was a cyst in the southern fried chicken bought today. Been a loyal customer, visiting regularly. No more

Absolutely SHOCKED at the amount of sauce they put on the chicken donner! Literally a tiny tea spoon it seems like. How can you be that stingy? You need to change this!! Also they charge extra for a tub of sauce but do not fill it to the top. Rip off

Food is average. Tiny portions and high prices! Shaved and chopped the burgers as much as possible over last couple of years, now resorting to putting your food in smaller containers and yet prices still rising. Disgusting tactics. Much much better options available out there.

This used to be our go too many years ago but they went downhill after. Recently visited on a whim and their spicy burger was top notch. Chunky (no longer the half cut fillet), tender and flavoursome. Fries nice and crunchy. Will definitely be visiting this place more regularly now. Also they had an offer on for 3 burger meals (excluding drinks) for £15.. so definitely worth the money too. Please note, not tried other items on the menu

I have purchased chicken and chips and burger meals a good number of times. Since the cost of living crisis, prices have gone up, which is not a problem. What the problem is when you buy a 3 piece, 4 piece or more they are throwing in 1 or 2 stale pieces and miniature pieces. People are not stupid, you can taste the difference between today's fried chicken and yesterday's. Stop this 3rd world practice, someone will get I'll sooner or later and you'll get closed down! The other issue is, the chicken could do with an extra 4-5 minutes in the fryer. Too much blood where the meat meets the bone. Come on guys, you'll lose trade and more importantly, your reputation.

Had to write this review because the food is always perfect!! Every single time I’ve been there it’s been the same. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The menus are vast and so easy to read. Genuinely love the food, and if I was to recommend something please try the spicy fillet burger meal. 10 out of 10 every time. I’ve been going here for years and the food has never changed. Seriously overpriced, paid 18 pounds, seek kebab on nana, and fish masala on naan. No drinks! Disgustingly overpriced for non fresh food. Won't be returning.

The service was rubbish and the food I bought was disgusting the kebab’s was not made fresh just warmed up too hot and to spicy the prices are ridiculously high paid nearly £20 for to meals and didn’t even get a drink with it very disappointed been a customer for over 20 years .

Amazing crispy fried chicken with a good amount of chips to fit the meal. The selection of drinks is just as fantastic with a variety to choose from. The service is nothing but 5*.Iv been coming here since the old technical college was here, and till this day the food is amazing quality.

I love going out to eat and i aim to only eat from hmc approved takeaways/restaurants around England and here twice I've been very Dissapointed as the chicken was not fresh and the the second time I ordered donner and it had a bad smell to it. The only good thing here is the spicy chicken burger but the food is too expensive and the quality lacks and doesn't smell fresh at all! I approached a elderly worker to tell him and he said there's nothing he could do. Customers service is as bad as the food.

Ordered 3 fillet burger meals - charged around £7 a meal. No fizzy drink included but some cheap brand of water. A complete rip-off. What's worse is they offer the same burger meals to students at £5. Not seen this in other cities/towns. As for the chilli sauce - had to pay extra for it. The meals themselves were standard. Best course of action for places like this is to vote with your feet - don't give them your custom! Edit - so admin is now justifying HMC as the reason for the high prices! There are plenty of chicken places that are HMC certified that charge reasonably - these guys are a rip off!

I would nlt return, spent over £40, asked for chili sauce to be put on chips, guy replied 35p for us to pour it on chips, wat a joke, so had to buy 10 separate chili sauces, very rude grumpy staff, very skingy people, been here a few times but i would not return, pleasr stay away, also wen asking for a meal they give you a water bottle an to upgrade to a pepsi its an extra 60p, few people walked out,wat a joke, very tight people in this day and age

Sadly, not what I remember, I didn't mind paying the extra cost for their products as you could taste the quality. However, that doesn't seem to be the case no more. Maybe it was the Ramadan rush!

Seems like this place is going down hill, from the grubby exterior to the sticky floor, it's sad to see, as I used to frequent this place in my College days. The Food was not fresh, no sanitation of hands after handling my money. I had to ask twice to be served & I was the only person in the place. I could not eat the mixed starter which was astronomically priced. Come step your game up. Not for me.

Got donner meat and chips....the chips were cold and donner was low quality and hard. When I complained to them they didn't apologise or anything like that..they just stayed silent. Very disappointed because I always eat from here.

I've been going here for years, the food is OK-most times, not all..but the most off putting thing is the customer service which overall leaves alot to be desired. The moody guys behind the till are sometimes rude, that's when they're not forgetting things in your order!

Stopped going here 6 years ago because of standard of food to the prices extortionate. Even though was one of the best 15 years ago what a shame will definitely not be going again same with the pizza shop and fish shop total rubbish.

Staff are lousy and very rude to be honest. No customer service. Never once had a smile. What's appalling is that you have to pay for all sauces whether these are on top of the food or in a tub. There are that many post it notes with price changes on a daily basis it's not right. The drinks that are included in the meals are water or out of date cans!. I honestly would not review this place based on my experience. I am giving them a 3 star as there is one last staff member who is absolutely amazing and an asset to them. My honest advice is smile guys and stop changing the prices so often and not updating menus!!.

Serve you left overs from the night before reheating southern fried chicken. Nothings fresh. Give this place a chance you will be disappointed. Waste of money. Burn your money rather than going here. Appalling food, what can I say? I wanted a chicken burger meal with a sidebreast, bossman ended up giving me half a chicken burger (fillet inside the burger was cut through the middle) my side breast turned out to be a wing piece of chicken and a leg and my fries were just disgusting, tasted like old oil. To top it off the next day me and my wife had food poisoning. Really wanted to like this place as I heard good things but when bossman charging you an extra 50p for a coke to be added onto your meal when it's a meal that comes with a drink, is quite crazy tbh. I'd give this place no stars if I could, and ridiculously high prices for cheap dry food. Avoid at all costs.

Disgusting bought chicken pakoras with chips and chicken was uncooked inside. Went back to complain they swapped chicken pakoras with chicken burger with chips. Chicken in side burger was very hard to Chew and gave back old chips.

Decent place to get a bite. I just had a portion of well done chips. They were OK, but not the best. You need the Park head fisheries in Crosland Moor, for that.

Wrost place I ever picked. The chicken donnor tasted sour and horrible, the seekh kebab were the frozen microwave ones you get, the cheese burger was OK but cold, chicken wrap was OK too. Overall never again. I felt horrible that night and the next day had a bad stomach.

Somewhat improved in the past 2 months but before that the food was absolutely terrible and some of it still is. Worst donner meat ever and Probably one of the worst takeaways in Huddersfield. But they do two good things.... The fish masala and the chicken fillet burger meal. Only things worth getting in my opinion. They need to use fresher ingredients and also deal with Rats festering outside. When they first opened around 25 years ago..... They were really good but now quality has fallen off a cliff but like i say... Really good masala fish and the spicy chicken burger. Eat from there at your own risk.

The food was good, but the guy who was working behind the counter need to be patience when customer is making a decision and not rush them. Ordered a standard chicken fillet burger meal, it was good.

Hard burger bun and out of date drinks provided with meals.

They are expensive but they make up on it with their quality.. Try their half pounder chicken fillet 🍔 meal with a slice of cheese inside their burger 👌

Wanted to order a medium fish masala, only to be told there is only large, no problem, these things happen, the man behind the till told me that price of the large fish masala was one price, but on there menus on the counter and behind the till was at another cheaper price, I asked him the size again? Large he responsed, for me to point out that a large fish masala on there menu is alot cheaper than what he is charging me, for him to reply, oh they are old menus, his tone and attitude was poor from start to finish, as I waited outside a ladies car broke down, she asked me for help as her phone died, I offered her to use mine and to call a local garage, she asked if I had a Iphone charger but as I use android, I did not, she then proceeded to go into trinities and asked if she could charge her phone as they had an iphone charger, so she could call her husband, they refused, she offered them money so that she could charge her phone, again refusing. She did not have her partner's number at hand so couldnt use my phone, to call him, i just think poor attitude, they had no obligation to charge her phone, but in times where someone is in need, I think the individual at the counter could have put her phone on charge for few moments just so she could make a call to her husband. Her car was directly outside trinities and she attempted to start her car on several occasions just for it cause the engine and exhaust to become smokey, she was visibly stressed and i am appalled at the level customer service and lack of kindness shown by this place.

Don't know why this place has such negative reviews? I've given it a 4* because I'm realistic in my expectations for a street takeaway im not rating this place as i would a gourmet restaurant and neither should some of the folks below. So lets start off; Service: i came in around 1pm from what i could see there was only a blonde lady working which is fine because it wasn't rammed. Her service was good, welcoming, polite and did exactly as i would expect of a server in this shop no complaints. Food: I ordered x3piece an chips, in fairness it came out to me pretty quickly and red hot so i knew it was fresh, the chicken was ok the batter coating was nice but maybe the actual chicken itself could of been of better quality but it was ok. The chips were bland in fairness, i did need to season them but the shop had the facilities for me to do that, so i guess thats down to personal taste preference. I ate the whole lot and washed down with a fanta lemon 🍋 The outside maybe needs a little investment but overall for ME i enjoyed my food and my experience. Will come again.

Quick service good quality for the price

Took a bite into the burger and found a long hair inside. Took it back and had it swapped, asked the guy to sort out a coke can for the inconvenience but he wouldn’t, least he could have done. He then started telling me no one has long hair, but I could see the worker in the back with a huge a** beard and no hair net! Gave 2 stars as the replaced burger was actually nice.

Too expensive and the food isn't even nice. The staff has a real attitude problem and are very rude. The guy with glasses and a beard is a very rude person and if you do buy something by accident he gives you the smallest portion in the world. Every takeaway usually gives you sauces with your food but these guys charge you 50 pence for each sauce and if you put it on your food he charges you 30 pence.im sure he pockets the money himself. There food used to be really nice and there potato wedges were the best thing in huddersfield , but since the last 5 years has constantly gone downhill. Don't go here you will not be happy!

Very overpriced. Just dissappointed that my burger meal cost me 5 pound only to find out my filet had been sliced in half and spread to cover the burger bun. Meaning I got half a filet in a burger. And the chicken and chips went to waste I couldn’t feed them to my toddlers too hard seemed refried. One chicken burger meal + one cheese burger meal + 2 piece chicken and chips = £13.00 🤨

Microwaved fillet burgers and overpriced sauces which are watered down. Out of date drinks which they rub off and sell at full price. Edit - June 2020: you say freshly cooked but it's only cooked fresh when you open up.. After that it's microwaved.. Don't con me bro.. If I ring for a fillet burger the burger is ALWAYS ready before the chips within minutes.. Your chicken gets microwaved and its not hard to tell. You say HMC certified but all places selling halal food are hmc certified so your high prices are not justified. This has always been the case for many years. People just need to look at the reviews to get an idea of this place.
