Disappointing. This used to be the best local cafe. What’s happened? Today’s very slow service, despite restaurant being very empty, we took our order to the counter as no one had been near us in 10 minutes. Then when the food arrived, stingy amount of avocado on tough toast with reheated dried up bacon. Egg and bacon brioche was fine. But £33+ for that and 2 coffees was a joke. Even the complimentary bottle of water was warm. Won’t be going back anytime soon.

This is a lovely cafe just situated off Putney High Street which offers great breakfast and good service. We were looked after by Nicole and the the cafe was clean and fresh. We had two of the breakfast scrambles with hot salmon, feta and spring onion. Also two very good cheesy croque monsieurs and a side of the very good pulled pork. With drinks it came to £60 which was good value for the standard of food and service.

Best brunch / lunch spot in Putney. We absolutely love it here, we have sampled a lot of the menu as we are locals and everything is pretty much excellent. Fresh quality consistently cooked to a high standard. The coffee is brillian, as is their range of cakes and pastries. The staff here are so friendly and always have a smile, they are attentive and welcoming. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

My 12 year old daughter and her best friend went for brunch last weekend as a special treat. My daughter ordered a plain sausage sandwich £7.50 which came with brown sauce and being so young, she didn’t feel as though she could send it back. Her friend had a chicken sandwich which came with an unwanted cranberry sauce and a chicken bone which chipped her tooth! The staff did apologise but they were still charged in full. What could have been a lovely first experience of a meal out with a friend was not a great experience and I would definitely not recommend.

I stopped by today at 11.30 for coffee and cake. The food was fine, though I think the cake was mass produced. But the service! It was extremely off-hand, like I was practically a non-person. What a shame. I won’t be returning.

This is truly a hidden gem! The place is small and unassuming from the front but wow! The food is outstanding, fresh, delightful! I really can't say enough good things about every item we ordered. Even the simplest dish - fried eggs on seven seed toast - was exquisite! If I lived closer, I'd be back weekly!

I never leave reviews but this was ridiculous. When asked what the Salad of the Day the first ingredient the staff member listed was goat cheese and went on to list a few more (raisins and walnuts I believe, and bacon which I opted against), he asked if I wanted to add anything else instead "like goat cheese or halloumi" which I found weird since goat cheese was already apart of the salad but didn't comment on it, he seemed new. Once home to eat it was just green leafs, raisins and walnuts. for TEN POUNDS. Outrageous. Went back to ask about it and was told he only mentioned it as some people choose to add it (weird to list all add-ons as part of the salad). Would of course never have chosen to spend £10 on leafs and nuts. Extremely overpriced IMO which is a shame as I live nearby and had been looking for a local lunch place.

I really wanted to write something good about this place, I really want to support small businesses and help out during a pandemic but I will never order a sandwich for takeaway from them ever again. Please tell me in what universe you can charge £9.50 for two slices of halloumi, about 4 mushrooms and a smattering of sriracha mayo on a brioche bun? Even with the avocado that was supposed to be in the sandwich, it was never going to be worth that much money. I am appalled that a small business would be proud to sell something this small for the money they charge and not expect someone to complain. It just boggles the mind - I've lived in Putney for over 10 years and never been this upset about takeaway food - it's terrible customer service to present someone with a sandwich that likely cost less than 3 pounds to make. You can bet I will never buy anything from them again and if asked will not recommend to anyone I know who lives in the area. I am really disappointed.

As mentioned in previous reviews this is a nice, clean and well presented shop. We were visiting from Australia and although new to London pricing, it seemed to be quite similar in many ways to Australia regarding service and food prices,...just a tad more expensive. I had a little free time and popped in for breakfast. Ordered the poached eggs on toast and added bacon and advocadoes. I knew it would be extra but got quite the surprise when my 6 pound order had 4 pound added for two small strips of bacon and another 4 pounds for what seemed to be a quarter of an avocado. It was nice but an increase of 133% on the original price for the extras seemed way over the top. I was going to drop the rating to 3 but decided that I might just be a bit naive.

I'd been told this was the best breakfast place in the world. It isn't. It's pretty good. It may even be the best in its area, but it's not at the top of the table. The coffee was delicious. I had "smashed avocado on toast" which was actually served on the side, not on the toast. The toast itself was cold. And I expected the smashed avocado to be more than just that: smashed avocado. Usually, something like this has a bit of tomato mixed in or at least pepper and salt and lemon juice. This was literally just avocado.Service was friendly, but we did have to ask about one of our party's orders. It turned out it had been forgotten and I'm a little big boggled about how a server can deliver three plates to four people and then not wonder why there wasn't a fourth plate.Still, overall it was a pleasant enough breakfast. One thing I did like about it was that it apparently is a New Zealand coffee shop. It wasn't obvious to me what made it so. I didn't see an hobbits or sheep. But then I don't really know that much about New Zealand.Oh, and I liked the colour of the espresso machine. And the pancakes looked delicious.

We've been to breakfast here multiple times and it has been excellent every time. It's always quite busy, but we've never had much, if any wait. Eggs, pork belly, and brisket have all been delicious and perfectly cooked. Initial service can be slow because Tried and True is always busy, but once orders are put in, food arrives pretty quickly. You'll be out in under an hour for breakfast if that's what you're looking for. Great for small and large groups and always bustling with lots of young families.

Popular breakfast spot in West Putney. Pleasant staff and clientele. I had breakfast here, which I enjoyed but could be better in some aspects. Firstly, a regular gripe for me; no filter coffee. I never understand this. Why not? Secondly, the scrambled eggs with chorizo were not really scrambled, but a kind of unstructured omelette. The orange juice was pretty good.

Having read great reviews, we decided to give this place a go for brunch on a Saturday at 11am- Cappuccino was very average- Ordered "Eggs Benedict with Spinach & Ham" and the "T&T's Award Winning Pulled Pork Benedict".- Food took over one hour to be served! We had to get up and ask what was going on as there was no communication from the waitress. When it did come the excuse that was given was there were many tickets in the kitchen and the chefs were busy. I understand there can be delays but at least keep your customers in the loop. - For two meals, two cappuccinos and a tea approx £31. - The food itself was nothing special. Nice decor inside but we will not be going back. I'm sure the service is not normally like this given other reviews on here but this was our experience.

Great for breakfast, went with a friend, really friendly staff nice background music and we'll furnished. The breakfast choice is good and there are some nice twists to some of the classics. The portion sizes are good and they don't rush you which is lovely.

Unless someone can demonstrate otherwise, I'll happily believe that Tried and True pancakes are the best pancakes in the world. My wife and I have been here twice; both excellent. My only concern is that now I have tried the pancakes, I doubt I'll make it through the rest of the menu. We also got a slice of red velvet cake to go and Oh My God. My wife is somewhat of a cake aficionado (though you can't tell by looking at her) and she ranks it up the with the pancakes. Best ever.

Have come here numerous times and every time the food is excellent, service lovely and - when the sun is out - the little garden the perfect spot to start the weekend.. Perfect place for a local brunch!

My friend let me onto this breakfast spot he found, which is not in our local neighbourhood but was such a great recommendation. The pulled pork benedict with cornbread isn't something I've ever seen before but as a signature breakfast, it simply has to be tried. The portions are generous as well - it's a great breakfast or brunch to set you up for today. Almost as if to prove it wasn't a fluke, the buttermilk pancakes we also ordered were definitely the best American style pancakes I've ever had. Tasty, not at all stodgy (which is how I usually find pancakes). Loved it all! And topped off by friendly and helpful staff.

This place does great coffee and has a lovely breakfast menu. One thing though... They call eggs florentine "eggs benedict with spinach". The girl also asked me if I wanted ketchup with it too. Made me laugh. Great place though.

A friend and I were looking for a new brunch place in Putney and have hit the jackpot on this one. It's a cute little cafe with a great atmosphere. Service is slow as hell but friendly and the food is fresh and great. Reasonably priced for the area, too! Just dont take up all the tables so we can still have our weekend brunch :)

Went there for a mid morning business meeting as the area suited everyone. There were two big oak Habitat tables in the middle of the room, just what we needed..perfect. Coffee and tea were great. Good welcome as we arrived and efficient, smiling service whilst we were there. Didn't try the food but I imagine it's up to standard. Highly recommended.

Myself and my partner came here on a Sunday with our 2 year old nephew. The food is so lovely and really organic tasting. The menu is varied and the staff couldn't do more to help. Would definitely reccommend

The food at T&T is great, the coffee is good, and the staff are really friendly. The chocolate brownies are extremely tasty (but bought in, I think, as I've seen identical ones in three other unrelated coffee shops). The brisket is also delicious - highly recommended.

Tried and True has become a firm favourite with us for lazy weekend breakfasts. The food is superb, the staff are always lovely (without exception) and the atmosphere is super chilled - exactly what you want on a weekend. We ventured to another popular breakfast spot on the Lower Richmond Road recently. Although nice it won't be toppling Tried and True as our favourite anytime soon.

It's a great place; coffee is fantastic, brunches are delicious (I think I've had everything they do!) and the staff are well trained, attentive and seem to enjoy their jobs! I've recently left Putney but still visit on occasion because it's a brilliant Sunday morning spot. It's very well run and rarely see staff waiting around or looking frantic like in some other coffee shops. You never have to wait long for whatever you've ordered and the prices feel like value for money. Mine's a long black and the pesto mushrooms. Thanks!

I go here quite often as its local. The staff are super friendly, especially the (Northern?) Irish guy who I assume is the owner/ manager. The food is always good and its a nice place to go.One thing I would say though, even though I always drink it there, I'm not a massive fan of the coffee. I find it really bitter. I also think there could be more variety on the menu.Worth a visit though, as it is a nice place.

A cute and tasteful little deli with a personal touch on everything. We were welcomed in by the manager and served with delicious breakfast baguettes while we sipped on some strong French coffeee looking out over the streets of Wandsworth. Lovely little spot

Food is always very good at Gazette Trinity, and this was no exception. We had the lamb rump and the scallops. As with most restaurants, I would say it's beginning to lose its "value" status for me. But overall a very pleasant experience.

The filled baguettes are nice however the service is mediocre. I have visited three times and its hard to know where to stand once you have ordered, should I pay next or wait etc. I will never come during a lunch time again. The staff seem a bit lack lustre as well and watch you like a hawk.

Really enjoyed our meal here. I've been looking for a local Lebanese restaurant and think we've found it. All dishes were simple, not overly spiced nor too much salt, so you can taste the real produce. The portion size were good and tasted freshly made. We got the chicken liver for starters, minced meat aubergine and minced lamb kebabs. We really enjoyed this meal and glad we tried it.

Visito a mi hija y su familia en Wandsworth una vez al año durante los últimos seis años. Este pequeño lugar está a una cuadra y media de su casa. En mi visita de abril de 2019 parecía que el restaurante había cerrado y cerró su puerta.
