Undoubtedly the best bakery in SW! Freshly baked food, amazing sandwiches, great pastries and wonderful staff!

I popped my head in the other day after gym. I had no wallet or phone and wasn't looking to buy anything. Regardless I was treated to a complimentary pastry (no idea what it was but it was far better than anything I have had in France). I have been meaning to go back and tuck into other French treats. Its a must visit if you are in Southfields!

This Southfields gem has lost quite a bit of its shine. Prices are up, service and quality are down. Still worth it for the delicious croissants and baguettes, but I'm not so sure about the once greatest sandwiches in London.

Simply the best at great prices. If you order in advance you can get the pair tart as a dinner party pudding for 10-12 people

Hands down the rudest service I've ever experienced - staff look like they don't want to be there. The woman who served be just chucked my products around, squashed everything and blankly looked at me. Just didn't want to be there!

I have been going here for ages for sandwiches. But this place has now become incredibly inconsistent. There is always something missing, or there will be too little or too much of some ingredients. Also, there is a weird vibe in there. Please go back to how you were!

Understated and underrated (….and underpriced). Excellent French sandwich shop/deli. Staff are very personable and quick service even during the lunch time rush. Chicken and truffle mayo baguette holds my strong recommendation and a lemon tart. A great little independent business that is a 2 minute walk from Southfields station.

Charged me £1.25 extra to switch to truffle mayonnaise from normal. Previously went 1-2 times a week for lunchtime baguette and/or breakfast pastries. Don’t think I’ll be coming back. There’s inflation and there’s £1.25 for a teaspoon of mayonnaise.

Fantastic bread and produce, slightly eccentric service

I like Chanteroy, have been going for years. Baguettes, croissants and pain au chocolat all very good. One thing I’ve learned though - don’t try to order more than one sandwich at the same time because they will completely mess the order up, without fail. Let them make the first sandwich then order the next one etc.

It used to be scary cheap and bloody good. Now, it's less cheap, but still bloody good. The baguettes are fantastic. Would recommend.

My friend from work has recommended Chanteroy to me. I happened to be around today and finally got to try it. The baguettes are amazing, fresh and delicious. The Brie cheese in my baguette was also so delicious. The service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend!

No coffee but the almond and chocolate pastry I bought was fantastic!

When it comes to hidden gems in SW London this is one of them. Easy to miss other than the lunchtime queues of locals snaking outside towards Southfields station.. Authentic French deli. No nonsense. The very limited space inside means you gotta keep it moving as browsing should only be attempted at off peak times. The bread and pastries are baked onsite and are superb. The best croissants in town, warm baguettes hit the shelves early morning and restocked about 10am. Great cheese and ham selection. My tip for lunchtime baguette, French ham with the celeriac remoulade, salad is optional, say yes to salt and pepper. Fantastic value too. You'll never want to go anywhere else for lunch and is certainly worth the wait! If you are a Southfields local you will know to pre order at least a dozen croissants for collection on Christmas morning.

A gem, hidden away. Tremendous range of French brands and plenty of freshly baked goods. The staff were very pleasant and helpful with a question about some products. Definitely recommend a visit if you're passing!

Gotta say I love this bakery. The baguettes with filling are absolutely amazing and the tarts and almond croissants? Don’t even get me started! So yummyyy! Only one tiny weeny thing? Please make lactose free cheese an option so I can have the little added enjoyment like everyone else

Great food but the staff need food hygiene training. They wear gloves but don’t change them or use the tongs for pastries. Today I got someone else’s mayonnaise on my croissant. I asked for a new one, and the staff member put the mayo soiled croissant back in the basket. Considering they make meat sandwiches, not changing gloves is a bit grim hygienically but also ethically if you’re serving a vegetarian next. Also punchline of the week goes to the chap behind the counter when asked “do you know what quiches you have” simply replied “…yes”.

The best filled baguettes at lunchtime. Also does amazing pastries, cheese and charcuterie. Looks are certainly deceiving with this place. The friendly staff and impeccably consistent quality of the food is totally worth a visit. They are always open too!

Real baguettes - that's right, not sourdough, real French baguettes - crispy outside, soft inside - thinner than the supermarket rip offs - love them. Also, an array of other breads, cheeses, jarred foods and they make up baguettes in store - just order from the 'bar.' Vive la France 🇫🇷

Been coming for years !!! The baguette wasn't as good today !! Chicken under seasoned....lettuce tasted unwashed... Baguette was way smaller ...tomatoes where really hard...such a shame I love this place

Been coming here for over 15 years and my last few experiences have been really bad. Such a shame as it was such a great place for so many years. The toppings now though are much smaller, bread size smaller and the staff even more rude and surly than they were before. But now you don’t forgive them because the food is poor. I ordered a baguette with egg mayo in it last week and the amount they put in was microscopic. I asked if I could have a bit more and was given such a dirty stare - then the baguette was pushed to me without a word and just a ‘tut’ and an annoyed sigh. I don’t know if it’s new owners but for the first time if I’m now in Southfields going forward I’ll go somewhere else for food.

Baguettes are especially tasty. One of my favourite local sandwich shop. Super tasty selection of cheese & breads. Excellent customer service. Prices have been going up but no compromise on the quality or taste of their products. It’s tucked away between shops but it’s worth finding. Much better than Greggs!

Sandwiches have gone downhill. Few years back they were a great price and full of filling. Now, the baguettes are tiny, barely any filling and what is there was burnt chicken skin in mine. Don't think I'll be going back again which is a shame.

Really unhappy with the amount of filling, price increases and rudeness of staff. This place use to BOOM early this year and years before and it was great. I don’t know what happened over the course of the year but it’s never been the same and I’ve been a customer for over 15 years. My mother had to ask for more filling in her chicken sandwich as she was given only a few strips and was told to the pay the extra fee. The eclairs use to be around £1.20/£1.40 - NOW £2.80!!! Very upset, will try the Fulham branch to see if it’s any better otherwise Chanteroy has lost another few customers (my family).

Delicious, freshly prepared, made to order food. Prepared by friendly professional staff. A must visit, if you're in the area.

I came on December 10 around 3:00 p.m. to get a sandwich, but saw a tall, dark-haired girl who had her phone in her hand while she was making the sandwich. It's not very hygienic. When I wanted to pay, I waited at the cash register for 5 minutes while I saw another tall, dark-haired girl with her phone. It is not very serious and not professional. And yet there was no one to queue. I don't find these two tall brunette girls to be professional!!!

Today Saturday 10 around 10: 30 December I ordered my sandwich but I was disgusted about the hygiene that I saw a tall young girl who touched the cheeses without putting on the gloves after having seen touching the phone in her hand. Pay attention to hygiene!!!

Was a great place for lunch sandwiches, but the length of the baguette is much smaller now with less filling and has gone up by £2. £3 sandwich was much more reasonable than £5. Sad times. Hope they work it out.

I’ve been a regular but won’t be back. I’ve now had too many poor experiences. Maybe there’s been a change of owners? Prices have drastically increased and are nowhere near as tasty as they once were. Very disappointing as it was my go to for a long time!

Food is great, great bread and great sandwiches. Go with a lot of patience as there is usually queue and the staff is slow and usually new to the place.

Excellent local spot for fresh baguettes and croissants. Shop is small, but its these type of places that do wonders. Great price for the tuna baguette.

I used to go here a lot (probably had 40 or so baguettes). The lack of filling I had today was shocking in half the baguette I counted 4 small shreds of chicken - this place needs more consistency. Will try once more but otherwise won’t go back again.

The only place to go for lunch. Fabulous food and great snacks

I ordered two large fruit tarts for 16 people, paid for and to be collected. On collection there was no recollection of any order as the staff don't write orders in a book! We were told to return in three hours so that the tarts could be made but on collection a second time, nothing had be recorded. For such a local gem they need to do something about staff management and systems. Not difficult. Lots of very young staff who have no skills. Meanwhile I had no dessert for my 16 guests.

I would like to give 0star! You don’t have the products which are written on your board(maybe wipe off when you have not got) Also I think you should re train your staff to be faster and not RUDE to customers!! I witnessed people walk out due to the wait!

New sandwiches are 3 inches shorter but the same price. Chanteroy has been my favourite place for a sandwich in Southfields for a long time which is why it took at least 6 bad experiences for me to leave this negative review. Recently this shop has become incredibly inconsistent. I have bought baguette sandwiches and been given 3 different kinds of bread recently. Today the baguette was about 3 inches shorter than usual. I’ve had sandwiches dripping too much Mayo to eat and times where I was given the complete wrong order in an empty store. A couple times I have come in 90 minutes before closing to be told that I can buy anything else but that sandwiches are no longer being made. Despite the food being generally good I find myself coming less and less with each bad experience. Customer loyalty eventually runs out. Update: I bit into the midget baguette and found myself with a mouthful of clingfilm.

Fantastic baguettes and pastries. I had a salami and emmenthal baguette with a pain au chocolat and enjoyed both very much. Great prices too. Staff were kind and polite.

Let's face it. The place is not glamorous or spacious. But that does not matter. They provide the best Croissants and Pain au Chocolate this side of the channel and this at an unbeatable price. I also strongly recommend the Quiches. If you have time get their freshly prepared sandwiches.

Best chocolate almond croissant in London

Asked for a chicken and Brie sandwich, this is the only bit of Brie that was in my already undersized and badly cut baguette, 10/10 will not go back again

The queue to get in pre-dates the pandemic and forms for a reason! Brilliant baguette sandwiches. And all the food and drink a Francophile could desire.

Very professional and despite the size they have a great selection.

I ordered the chicken and Emmental. The first bite was nice-ish but the chicken's only flavour was salt and a lot of it. The baguette started to become quite sickly and I was desperate for pieces of lettuce, tomato or maybe even a glob of mayo to reveal itself to give my poor palette a rest from the salt. Whilst my blood pressure is through the roof I did enjoy the baguette which was a nice alternative to the supermarkets often under-baked baguettes.

I think I have had the chicken special baguette about 10 times after finding this gem. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Despite the recent negative reviews, this is the best sandwich shop I know in London. The sandwiches are consistently excellent and very reasonably priced. The staff are great (they may seem rude but are always very busy!) They are very dilligent and make superb sandwiches. We get our weekly sarnies from this establishment and will continue to do so. It is quite literally the only reason to visit Southfields

I popped in by chance to pick up a couple of sweet treats to go with breakfast and left with a feast! They make the most delicious strawberry tarts, raspberry tarts, apricot tarts, Mille feuille and coffee eclairs and I have been highly recommended to their baguettes for lunch. Lovely helpful guy in there went to collect me a strawberry tart straight from the oven! Will definitely be going back this weekend

The most incredibly tasty French bread, lovely desserts and pastries, plus a good selection of French goods on the shelves in the back that can’t be found in UK supermarkets. So lucky to have this place in the area.

Best bread this side of the channel! Wonderful little shop with loads of French products, pastries, cheese, quiches and the best sandwiches. Definitely my favourite lunch treat in London.

A little diamond deli in the middle of Southfields. Best croissants and other pastries, best half-baguette sandwiches (just look at the weekday queue), fabulous individual desserts and a whole French load more.

To refuse to sell to a customer even know I’m 8 weeks pregnant an hour before closing time I got to shop at 5 clock. That’s an hour before 6 clock shocking... there was a lady in shop buying a quite amount of shopping I was standing out side in rain for good 8-10 minutes or more Quite funny due to me walking to shop I saw the staff make a baguette for a customer with he’s dog and came out to give to the gentlemen it’s seems the staff only make it for there own kind or people that go there quite frequently. This is appalling to treat any customer in any kind of way specially pregnant women....brilliant business your running.I won’t be going here again..

Horrible people behind the scene, company invited me for a 10 hour work trial on friday 22nd January, 6am -4pm, I arrived at 5.35am, just to be early in case the head chef arrives early, so they can show me around etc, so they dont have to do it during their time, possibly putting the business behind, however nobody turned up, I got on the bus at 6.15 am to go back home, as it was freezing cold and the bus stop is in front of the shop, and let's face it nobody wants to be walking around Wimbledon at the crack of dawn, I sent the area manager an email, with a picture of the shop shut, with the time and date on the picture just to show I arrived, I phone head office twice on friday, basically I got shrugged of and got told the area manager will call me back, it's now Monday 25th, and still nobody has contacted me, not only did I make the journey during a pandemic lockdown, possibly putting myself and who I live with at risk, to hopefully find employment so I can live better and be able to pay my bills, as the covid has put a terrible strain on my finances. I didnt get my opportunity, put myself at risk, but also wasted money on travelling, that I wont get back,which could of got spent on food or gas and electric. That's what kind of company it is. I dont like doing reviews, as it could tarnish a company's reputation, but I'm upset and have a family to support, and feel like I'm being punished for making an effort THANK YOU VERY MUCH CHANTEROY. ALSO I WANT MY TRAVEL EXPENSES PAID BACK

The best place for a sandwich/baguette in Southfields. Loads of fresh fillings to choose from including salami, chicken and roast beef, all the cheeses and salad. Very reasonably priced. Go early to avoid the queue (before midday).

After few months away I just made two visit to this shop in used to frequent often Both time the staff was extremely un welcoming, it was clear they would rather not j’habite to serve anyone and made no effort to understand the products I was asking for None of the staff was speaking french, and didn’t know the name of the french product ... really disappointed 😔
