One is regular of this place. Always been welcomed by the staff. Having a Italian dinner in the house, their Linguine Allo Scoglio is excellent. I tried the Spaghetti Carbonara this time and find it just a touch lack creamy flourish. Still one recommend the place much.

Restaurant is nice and the waitress helpful. However the food is dreadful. My husband had a garlic mushroom bruschetta to start, it tasted of nothing, no garlic almost like boiled mushroom, I tasted it and had to agree and sent it back. I ordered the Crudaiola PizzaTomato Sauce, Fresh Mozzarella, Rocket, Parma Ham, Parmesan Shavings & Cherry Tomatoes. Hard to cut and the tomatoes were raw and no mozzarella. Finally cut through it and it was stone cold. The bottom of the pizza was black and was obviously burnt. My husband tasted it and we agreed to send it back. He cut into his fish and it had a real bad smell it looked grey and the battered was aneamic. He gave me a little bit of the fish and I had to spit it out into a tissue. So both meals were sent back. Very disappointing exerperience as this was the first time out after 8 weeks after an operation. The bill came for the bottle of wine but the starters had been added to it so had to get the bill amended. Happy to pay for the bottle of wine. After been given a menu we were disappointed to find that the actual prices in the restaurant are significantly higher than those advertised on the website. We would hope that this is a clerical error rather than a deliberate tactic to get people into the restaurant. More care should be taken to ensure the website reflects accurate prices being charged. We noticed that our comments on the food were not communicated to the chef. Without a complaints process in place that details the complaint and feeds that back to the chef and management it is difficult to see how improvements can be made.

I have to admit I didn't expect much, looking at the restaurant through the frosted glass windows from the hotel reception, as it didn't seem particularly inviting or welcoming. I was met quickly by a friendly waitress and seated at a nice corner table. It was an early evening week night so the restaurant wasn't overly busy when I arrived but steadily got busier and busier as the night went on. The large woodfired pizza oven a main focus in the room, next to the open pass provided something for me to watch whilst I waited. I ordered calamari to start, unfortunately nothing overly special and I'd guess of the frozen variety, but nice enough either way and not overcooked. For mains I ordered the chicken Trevi, a chicken breast on sautéed new potatoes in a pepper and chorizo sauce. A huge mountain when it arrived, I regretted having a starter, but soon proved to be very tasty. Chicken breast was well cooked , the peppers and chorizo complimented it well to give a Spanish type feel to the dish. Overall enjoyed it and would happily visit again.

Brought my friend here for her birthday as I’ve been here time and time before. Ordered my usual meal and she ordered hers on my recommendation Well!!!! OMG my chicken I think was boiled and the meal was absolutely tasteless as was hers We tried to drown it in Parmesan cheese, Salt & pepper and no change. They came over to bring more Parmesan and I thought this isn’t right. Why should we (the payers) have to try and add flavour to our food! So the meals were taken to be replaced and I saw the chef wasn’t happy about it and to be fair we had never seen this chef before! And low and behold the same meal was delivered BLAND AS HELL! Not saying an Englishman can’t cook a good Italian but I think he’d just come from McDonald’s Never again!! I was so embarrassed and had to pay for the privilege of crap food.

We visit the adjacent Thames Hotel fairly frequently, as it’s our local - but this was our first visit to the Trevi restaurant itself. We also took advantage of the government’s Mon to Wed 50% off deal, & we’re so glad we did! We had a lovely warm welcome from Veronica, & she showed us to a nice table by the window. We enjoyed a gamberoni starter between us, & then had Linguini Allo Scoglio & Penne All Arrabiata for our mains. Our meals were prepared to perfection - piping hot & tasty, & very generous portions too, all at a very sensible price. We both enjoyed a large glass of house red as an accompaniment. The ambience of the restaurant is perfect - it has that all-important Mediterranean feel, complimented by tasteful Italian music at a low volume, which really sets the scene. Veronica was the perfect host, and we really enjoyed our visit - can’t wait to come back. If you’ve never been, go & see for yourself - you won’t be disappointed!

So disappointing. I was excited to see Trevor on Deliveroo as I’ve always been impressed by the food when we’ve eaten in. My first order - just a Gamberoni starter - was great although on the second occasion I thought it would be better with some garlic bread or chips so I ordered both. The prawns were great again l but the chips were a bad choice of chip before it was cooked (think 1980s oven chips!) and then was put in a plastic sealed tub so became soggy and cold. The garlic bread was a joke - I’m sure they must have run out or something as what arrived was a factory sliced piece of bread, toasted and then drizzled with garlic oil (so stale and soggy at the same time!). £3 for a slice of stale soggy toast - unreal! I phoned to bring it to the managers attention but was assured that’s how it comes and the bread is baked on site. The lack of empathy and accountability from the manager was astonishing. Although the prawns are great - it seems the accompaniments are worse than terrible but still not as bad as the attitude from the management. Such a shame that these beautiful riverside buildings are run to ruin by people that just don’t care about what they do.

Been going to The Trevi regularly for several years. We’ve always loved it but in recent months it’s SERIOUSLY gone downhill. The service is still good but the food is not. On our last two visits, the first time, the Italian sausage on the pizza turned out to be breakfast sausage; the second visit all our meals were tepid and the Parma ham as described on my pizza, was lardons . I’m sorry but that’s not the same thing in my book. My husband’s chicken had definitely been standing around for a while. So disappointing from a restaurant that we used to love. Sunday lunch at the Trevi was a big culinary disappointment for us. Perhaps we should have chosen from the Italian menu but alas we chose the Sunday roast. The food arrived luke warm. It was the most tasteless meal we have ever had. The beef looked Ok but tasted of nothing. There was a dried up Yorkshire pudding compliment of cash and carry ,likewise three small shrunken roast potatoes and some boiled vegetables. All covered in a spoonful of brown gloop masquerading as gravy. We managed to chase the indifferent waitress for some horseradish which was the only thing that tasted of something...The house red wine was nice but it was served in a shabby cheap thick glass with measurements on the side....a relic from the 70s no doubt...Yes,we ate the lot as we were hungry and did not have time to find an alternative eatery ...we could have complained but didn't. Such a shame as the restaurant dwells in an old, quaint hotel with Thames frontage...This could be a nice place to eat but rethink the Sunday menu ,please!

We were in London on Saturday and looked forward to an Italian meal. It was early and we thought we would head home and have one in Maidenhead and we booked the Trevi. Having not been there since it opened, I remembered it as being 'solid'.We were not let down. In car we talked about meals we had had in Italy and all agreed that small family restaurants always seemed to hit the spot.. The Trevi is just like that with friendly staff, as mentioned by others, and a good 'feel'. The kitchen is in open view. The food was first class, each of our party of 5 had a high quality meal full of flavour, and not lacking in quantity - but not a case of quantity over quality. This was up with the best, robust flavours, honestly presented in the family style. Our starters were Chicken Wings in Garlic, Chilli, Rosemary, a couple of Pan Fried Tiger Prawns cooked in Garlic, Chilli and White Wine Sauce, and the Arancini, deep fried rice balls stuffed with bolognese and mozzarella. First class and my wings were great, no shortage of gamberoni for the ladies and the Arancini were substantial. The main courses we had included the meatballs with fettuccini for me,again with an excellent robust sauce with enough garlic to keep the colds and flue at bay, others had Chicken Breast Stuffed with Gorgonzola Cheese and Baby Spinach, served with Mushrooms in a Frangelico Cream Sauce, Pan Fried Chicken Breast topped with Parma Ham and Sage, served with White Wine Sauce, and a Calzone ( we were more intrigued whether he would finish it rather than enquire about the innards!). Finally there a a really fresh filet of Seabass over a Cod filet . Perfect fish dish, light and delicate. As you guessed by now, there was no room for puddings,.All in all, the best Italian meal I have had for years in the UK, and two of us got up to chat to the chef without the other knowing, such was the impression the meal made on us. Highly recommended as a honest restaurant.

I stay at the hotel when I can for work and leisure in the area. The food at the restaurant is always very good and there are lots of variations on the menu, so I always have something different. The Chefs quickly cook up the dishes in the open view kitchen and soon something delicious arrives well presented in front of you. (And without a single ping from the microwave!) Not only is it delicious, the prices are very reasonable and on business budgets you can try most of the menu. The atmosphere is good even though it is usually fairly quiet, and the staff very friendly and attentive. The chefs are kept busy making meals for customers in the bar as well, which is an alternative to sitting in the restaurant.

For a local, I appreciate having good Italian food to go out to regularly and to bring friends to, if I feel too lazy to cook. The restaurant is not flashy, it's feels more like a trattoria - rustic. The menu is wide and everything I've tried on it has never disappointed, from the dish of the day, to the fish and chicken with mushrooms. Delicious and the portions are biggish.I've never tried the pizza but they have a wood-fired oven and I'm told it is one of the best places - pizzas are crisp and dry on the bottoms. The desserts look a bit same-old, same-old, with tiramisu, etc. But I'm normally too full to eat dessert. There is parking at the back and it's just next to the river, so you could go for a stroll before or after. If you're eating dinner, it's best to book, definitely at weekends.

It wasn't too busy given the time of year so we were able to enjoy attentive service but not pushy which is great. I hate it when waiters come and fill up your wine glass!! The bruschetta starter was not very authentic although very generous in portion size! It justice felt like French bread and tomatoes, pizza express beats it hands down. The pizza we ordered was very good and again generous, in fact we ended up sharing one and taking one away! The asparagus starter next to me looked very good. So a meal with a decent amount of wine expect to pay £30-£35 per head. All in all a pretty reasonable experience with nice staff, but I wouldn't necessarily rush back.

I walked in here off the street, not particularly expecting much, just fancied a bit of pizza or pasta. It's a wee bit hidden away in a hotel, but search it out!The menu is great, not massive, which is good, I went for the prawn and calamari starter, it was the best Italian starter I've had, beautiful.I ordered the risotto next, which came out in good time, it was warm, fresh and delicious. The location is cool, right on the river, it was just a really good experience.Loved this place, would definitely come back!

I stay in Maidenhead frequently for work and whenever I am staying in the area, I am always going to Trevi at least for one evening. A good selection of food and both their pizza's and pasta's are really nice, nothing overly fancy or special but very good value for money. The restaurant has got a nice atmosphere to it and fairly friendly staff.I will ceetainly keep on returning.

Excellent Italian cuisine. Veal on the bar menu was absolutely traditional with the creamy mushroom sauce. Cassata Ice Cream the real Tutti Frutti... A lovely ambiance with a wood burning pizza oven.

Go there regularly for an enjoyable and no fuss Italian meal. Their Pizzas, cooked in a wood oven, are quite good and offer large portions for any other dish ordered.

We stayed in the hotel and were recommended to book for later if we wanted to eat in the restaurant and we were glad that we did. The restaurant was full and popular and we enjoyed two pasta mains and a garlic bread. It was all pleasant and with a couple of glasses of wine came to about £30. It had a nice atmosphere in a 70's kind of way. I would eat there again.

My two friends and I visited Trevi recently for a much anticipated catch up meal and chose Trevi because of the good local reputation of the Thames Hotel in which this restaurant is located. When we arrived there were only 3 tables occupied so we had no problem in being seated. Our waitress was somewhat offhand from the start and throughout the evening and obviously not very interested in serving us but we were able to order drinks and food which did arrive quite quickly. Unfortunately one of the meals (a risotto) was overly salted and my friend was unable to finish it, the other two meals (fettuccine) were delicious though. The waitress did offer to replace the risotto, which my friend declined but did not apologise or suggest a reduction in the bill. We then ordered 3 coffees which were completely undrinkable and which we refused to pay for. We were all very disappointed with our visit and will not be returning any time soon.

What has gone wrong in this restaurant over the last year?! 2014 excellent - last night, where do I begin?! Out of 4 starters, two were awful: a bowl of "soup" which was just lukewarm water with undercooked vegetables floating in it and mussels which were not cooked as described and were cold. On to the mains: one of our party is pregnant and therefore requested a well-done steak. We sent it back 3 times and each replacement was bleeding. It also came back with a variety of sauces. The fourth time, we gave up and said not to bother replacing it this time and the chef started remonstrating that we were at fault here! My own steak was tough, the lasagne was black and the risotto looked and tasted like wallpaper paste. Added to all this, service was very poor and the table of four next to us resorted to buying their own drinks in the bar. They also said the food was terrible. In fact, we saw meals going back from several tables which is not surprising since they were being plated and left sitting for up to 10 minutes before the over-stretched waiting staff could get them out to diners. If this business is to survive it needs to take a serious look at the attitude of kitchen staff and employ more waiting staff for busy service times. The chef whose temper couldn't be controlled should be in a different job or at the very least situated in a closed kitchen where his attitude is not on full view to customers! Needless to say, we didn't pay for the meals, won't be going back and wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This restaurant is part of the same hotel for which I have just submitted a less than satisfactory review. However, as far as standards go this restaurant is in a different league. Six of us dined here, each one of us having a different main course, and we were all delighted with the standard of the food. Without reservation we would all place it in the top 5 Italian restaurants we have dined in in the UK.The staff were friendly and accommodating, and although quiet on the night we visited there was a nice atmosphere. The bill for appetisers, mains and drinks came to about £15 per head - great value for the quality we received. This restaurant deserves to be on your list if you live in the Windsor/Maidenhead area.

Visited here for a family members birthday celebration. We were in the private function room. It started badly and ended badly. We pre ordered a week in advance so we were all expecting a smooth journey. Everyone got their own drinks at the bar which worked for us but the bar man didn't know what he was doing after waiting 10 mins for someone to serve us. Another lady serving served one man asked what he would like and ordered it in the computer and then walked off. He hadn't finished ordering!!! We had to wait 10 minutes to got 3 basic drinks coke and beer. Starters came out came out smoothly but tasted awful. Calamari were so thin and more batter then calamari. No flavour at all. 1 member of our party was unable to make it - but we explained we were happy to pay for it as it was pre ordered. This happened with the starter. When mains came it was a disaster. They forgot 3 dishes. So some of the party started and were nearly finished eating when the last 3 arrived. Veal was terrible. Cooked through it was so hard. So one member of the party decided they would have the spare main meal that we ordered which was a fish dish. Turned out they ran out of fish so it couldn't be served. WHAT WE PRE ORDERED. it's not difficult to make sure you have enough dishes for a pre order. This place is disorganised and needs a complete revamp to survive. What a shame for a birthday to be ruined.

Eaten here quite a few times now. The first time, we returned from London tiered and in need of food. WOW! I didn't expect the exceptional T-bone steak I got, for less than 25 quid!Repeat visits over the last couple of years have always left me satisfied, in both quality and quantity. The food's exceptionally good, although the menu seems to have slimmed down, and ranges from a quick pizza through some fantastic seafood and of course, the steak.Dining room is, I think, starting to look a little dated, but don't judge a book by its cover, just eat!

Came to the Thames Hotel for 60th birthday bash in the restaurant's function room. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Wine on tables was very good and the food was brilliant. Starters were a wide selection of hams, cheeses, tuna, tricolor salads and bruschettas - a great mixed platter. The main courses included tender sea bass, a large portion of breaded veal or rich calves liver. Pasta dishes included a huge meat balls, pasta and boiled egg. Much dancing was done to work that lot off! All the food was served with mixed veg and chips. A choice of tiramisu or chocolate cake rounded it all off. All efficiently served. The barman then did the the DJ whilst serving the drinks - cool multi tasking.

I pass the this restaurant several times a day and whilst I have popped into the hotel for a beer many times I have never used the restaurant before. We were very surprised when we looked on their website at the extent of the menu; even more so when we saw the very inviting specials on the menu on our arrival. The restaurant was tastefully decorated and furnished and did not make the mistake of trying to look like a Tuscan auberge. We visited on a Thursday evening which is traditionally quiet so the service was excellent and attentive. We were not disappointed by the food which was excellent and the portions more than generous. We will definitely being going there again and would recommend the Trevi to anybody visiting Maidenhead or Cliveden

I'd been walking past this hotel/restaurant for years and finally decided to go inside -- and am glad I did. Nice menu selection, attentive service, respectable wine list (with several good wines by the glass, and generous glass sizes). Had the proscuitto-wrapped asparagus and the pasta with salmon, zucchini (courgettes) and sun-dried tomatoes, both dishes were very well made (huge portion of pasta). Very reasonable price, when all said and done. Sorry I didn't stop to eat there years ago. (Only slight downside is that you cannot see the river from the restaurant, nor is there outdoor seating; only the pub bar at the front of the hotel has these features.)

We live close by so we've been inclined to eat there mainly for convenience... We've had some very good meal as well as some not so good in terms of presentation and taste. Service could be improve quite a lot! having said that, they seem to be trying hard. Only about two weeks ago, I had to return my steak twice as I had made absolutely clear that I wanted it to be rare - first time it was too well done, the second time it was blue and cold - hooray! third time lucky but overheard the chef cursing at the pan somewhat, ha ha ha! however when we left the chef was apologetic. Would we go back? the answer is yes as it is reasonable and very convenient to us. Give it a try...

This is not the best Italian restaurant i have ever eaten in but it is certainly in the top twenty. I might have mentioned in some of my other reviews that we are not picky, but appreciate the odd luxury. Trevi did not disappoint, service food and wine all very good indeed. One dish was made specially for one of my guests and it was less than expected. It was an expensive dish but without further mention, it did not appear on the the bill. Old fashioned standards!

Tempted by the online menu. However, did not quite meet expectations. Smoked salmon starter was good as was the mozzarella wrapped in Parma ham. Main courses not so good. Fettuccini with chopped lobster was presented with shell on lobster pieces. Lamb shank was tender in the middle but tough around the edges 'though the mash & veg was tasty. Wouldn't be my first choice restaurant in Maidenhead. Not worth a return visit.

Very good choice on the menu, various meat and fish dishes as well as pizza and pasta. Had rosemary bread and a large mozzarella/avocado salad for starter, partner had mixed platter of salmon, pear, ham and cheese (slightly odd mix but tasty and large!). We had T-bone steak and chicken with spinach and ham in a mushroom/marsala sauce. Mixed vegetables come with the mains and were really fresh and tasty. All the food was absolutely delicious with generous portions and we thought the price was about right for what we had. The service was a bit lacking - the waiting staff were friendly but we had a bottle of wine in an ice bucket and our glasses were not topped up at any point for example. Also if the restaurant were mine, I'd upgrade the glasses and cutlery, it doesn't have that 'quality' feel that so many other eateries in the area have.

We visited this place recently and I witnessed a vulnerable individual who stated that they had a disability be shouted at and belittled by a male member of staff whose attitude was incredibly threatening. When I issued a formal complaint, I received no response from Nero despite waiting a week for them to respond. I find this behaviour truly shocking, knowing especially that he is still working there today. Can’t say I’ll ever be returning.
