Went for afternoon tea last week for a birthday treat as have had many good visits there over the years. Very disappointed , the jam and cream now come in little plastic containers which seems such a backwards step. The tea was quite weak which was okay for me but not my companions. The young staff were fine but dressed in running shorts which was just a bit to casual. I had sent some holidaymakers there over the summer telling them it was the best cream tea in the area. They were underwhelmed and I am too. Would not recommend.

I absolutely loved Trevallicks Farm restaurant and tea room. Set in a spectacular spot next to Caradon Hill with breathtaking views across the Tamar Valley towards Dartmoor, this is the perfect spot for lunch or tea, cake and hot chocolate any time. The staff are wonderful, the food is enjoyable and it is pet friendly. We left with a smile on our faces, fueled up and ready for a five mile trip around Caradon Hill. It is amazing how far an indulgent cake and a luxury hot chocolate can take you. Make the trip whenever the sun comes out. It is worth it.

Fantastic little gem of a place. Went there to celebrate my wife’s birthday with family from abroad and the staff could not have been more helpful. We had their afternoon tea for the nine of us and it was delicious. Sandwiches perhaps a little chunky and rustic but it’s that kind of a place and the cakes and scones were absolutely amazing. Well done to all and thank you to everyone there for making the afternoon so special. Will definitely not wait for a reason to return!

we have been visiting here every year when we visit this part of Cornwall. We visited on Monday and again today...thursday 16th May 2024 at 3.30 pm. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with ..we close at 4..no smiles, or hellos. We felt very unwelcome. the scones were delicious and warm as usual, but the service was not. Their dog was left loose to wander , and came up to our table with its face in our plates. I am nervous near dogs and didnt particularly fancy the dogs face in my plate, so i asked one of the women to call their dog back, which she did very reluctantly and without an apology. As we left, there was no ..byes..or thank yous, Felt extremely unwelcome, and wont be visiting again

Afternoon tea for three was delightful instead of tea we all got a latte which was lovely, lovely views from the windows. The staff were not as attentive as other places but it was the end of a busy weekend for them. The cakes and sandwiches were really delicious and all presented on a picnic bench which was a nice touch. If I am over that way I would most certainly return, if you want the afternoon you need to book in advance and pay a deposit.

Came here because the food is really good, but was told to go before we had finished because 'we need the table ' even though we were content to carry on spending money drinking and eating. And the response to our horror of being thrown out, was basically.....tough that's the way it is. Dreadful. Won't be going back which is a shame because the food is good. Service not so.

Heard lots of good things about this place, so took a friend for Breakfast. Got just inside door to a young girl that just said no tables in doors. OK we sat outside, all OK, did think greating a little abrupt! Went back in to order. Drinks brought out to us looked good no sugar so got up again when I asked for sugar, girl just pointed!! Breakfast came toast lovely, mediocre sausage, bacon dried up over cooked, mushrooms greasy. AGain no salt, pepper sauces brought out to table, so would have left Breakfast in outdoor air to go cold if I'd gone to get condiments! Over all other than the view, very disappointed 😞 Will not return.

Couldn't have been more impressed with the service, but the food was an experience to behold. Eating breakfast in a prebooked pod, the waiting time for your food can easily be absorbed by simply looking around you. On this occasion, as if the vista wasn't already enough of an experience, some sheep roaming freely among the moors came strolling by...Having had breakfast I took a moment to glance at the variety of local produce on offer, ranging from specialty gins, to a pleasing donut thing called a Kernow curl.Of the numerous reasons why I'll definitely be going back, that Kernow curl is very high on said very long list.

Really wanted to be able to write a positive review in order to support a small local business in these particularly difficult times but sadly unable to do so based on my experience. The first issue was the scones- not offered the choice of fruit or plain and when brought out, there was not enough plain scones and was clearly too much trouble for another plain scone to be brought out. Scones were lovely but we were expected to share the same pot of jam and cream between 3 of us with no separate spoons. My colleague who had spent time arranging this get together was totally humiliated in front of all of us by being told by a member of staff, in a very loud voice that she was not to sit at another table and to go and sit back at her original seat - very reminiscent of being a 5 year old back in school. When said colleague laterquietly spoke to this very rude member of staff, there was no apology and no apparent awareness of the impact of her rude behaviour. Funny that this outburst was due to current covid rules yet the table of colleagues behind us were nowhere near the specified 2 metres apart??!!Furthermore, another colleague asked for a sandwich rather than a cream tea and this seemed like a terrible imposition. As we were leaving another staff member apologised to my colleague who had been humiliated. Sadly too little too late. Weren't made to feel welcome at all and certainly will not recommend to family or friends or visit again. There are plenty of other small local busineses that are deserved of our custom as locals. Very sad as we all need a pick me up, particularly after the year we have all had.

I received a voucher for my 50th birthday last year and decided to book this place on our way home from a break in Hayle, Cornwall. Storm Alex was doing its worst but the welcome received once inside was warm. We were early but a phone call from the car was made and we were able to come in. We arrived at 12 for a 12.30pm booking. We had the afternoon tea, but I had the gin tasting as it happens to be coming up to my 51st birthday. The food came out on a 3 tiered tray and its contents was explained. Standouts were the carrot cake and fruit scones though my husband preferred the plain one. Each gin was served and explained what it was and where it came from. A particular favourite was the Stafford gin made on a local farm. I bought a bottle to take home. Despite having to wear a mask the overall experience was fabulous. We woud definite ly come back if we go to Cornwall again. Hopefully in better weather to enjoy the lovely view. Thank you to all the staff who made our visit so special.

Stopped at this Tea Room after a day at the beach. We hadn’t booked (a requirement during COVID) but a very helpful young man thought that we would be ok as it was late in the day. I didn’t realise quite how late it was as my watch was running slow but we had arrived right at the point of the Tea Shop ending their day’s service. However, they were very accommodating and served us anyway. We had what was probably the best Cream Tea we had ever tasted and sat outside admiring the beautiful view whilst we ate it. Then, when we came to pay, realised that the Tea Room was part of the Eat Out to Help Out discount, which topped off an extremely pleasant visit. If we get the time during our stay we will definitely call in again (with booking first) and will be more than happy to pay the full price. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND A VISIT.

Booked the Afternoon Tea with gin tasting and sat in the quirky and unique pod outside with our dog. This was the best Afternoon Tea we have ever had and at £29.95pp this was extremely good value; we each had 4 local G&Ts (with a bonus of 10% off the purchase of a bottle which we took advantage of!) and each was teamed with tonic and garnishes to compliment the gin. The sandwiches, scones and cakes etc. were all incredibly tasty and fresh. We even bought some of the chutney used as we loved it so much. We returned a few days later for coffee and cake which was amazing. Everything is very reasonably priced for the quality and uniqueness you can buy - we bought several gifts from the beautiful shop. Staff are attentive, welcoming and so friendly. They are a credit to the farm shop and, if we lived locally, we would return to see them and to sample their amazing produce. Thank you all.

Yesterday I visited this charming farm shop with my other half. We had the cream tea for two, as that worked out better value than buying the items separately. My partner really enjoyed his scone with generous helpings of Boddington's jam and Trewithnen clotted cream. The Trevallicks team were very friendly and accommodating, and allowed me to substitute a saffron bun instead of the scone, as I'm intolerant to dairy. The afternoon tea was wonderful. We loved the Tregothnan loose leaf tea as it has a slightly smoky after taste. Yum! The picture postcard views over Bodmin moor and the surrounding areas were an unexpected bonus….

I come here regularly with my partner as the food is always delicious and the views and pigs you can feed are a bonus! Plus it is very local to us. However there always seems to be some issue with the service, whether it is items missed or an order not taken properly, and little is done to rectify it if so, plus the staff never seem that happy. Bacon was missed off my order (obviously not a big deal) and when I mentioned this to the staff nothing was done and I wasn’t even told until way after I had finished my meal that it wasn’t put through to the chef, with no extra detail of why, or an apology. This kind of thing has happened to me the last few times I have visited, which is unfortunate as it is a nice place to eat, and it makes the experience slightly less enjoyable than it has been in the past.

Our first trip to Clifford's Restaurant today. 7 of us, including 3 children. Drinks were supplied with children's meal, what a bonus! We all had different items from the menu. All arrived piping hot and full of flavour. Three items from the specials board were especially delicious. My Jacket potato was crammed with filling including a delicious salad garnish. Would highly recommend a visit. Great value for money. Crayons and drawing activities supplied for the children were much appreciated and made for the perfect family lunch

Give yourself a treat and enjoy a nice simple but tasty meal and wonderful views. If you or the children like model railways there is a fascinating extra treat in store. You won't be disappointed. Afterwards pop over to Minions nearby and see the Tin Mine which is well worth a visit with its interactive display.

Always freshly cooked meals. The vegetarian full English is excellent and good value. The bacon sandwiches and jacket potatoes are delicious. Always a friendly smile and excellent service. The staff work hard to ensure that you enjoy it. The homemade cakes are lovely. Worth a visit for a cream tea or full meal. You won't be disappointed.

Been here many times when visiting the area on holiday. Always very helpful and friendly staff who serve great cups of tea and coffee with very tasty cakes and scones. Great little shop as well, selling a selection of local gins and spiced rums as well as other crafts from the local area. Could sit and look at that view all day and just watch the world go by. See you next time!

This is the number one place to go for yummy fresh local food and friendly service . This time we had teacakes, scones and cake, but on other occasions we have had cooked meals and we have never been disappointed. Service is excellent and the selection of products in the shop is wide. It is very family friendly and the views are amazing. Add to this it is very well kept and there are animals to feed aswell.

Very thankful that both plain and fruit scones were available for cream tea. Generous amount of cream and jam with the single, warm scone. Enjoyed watching the pigs in the next field.

This is in a wonderful posistion and a good selection of food but I really think charging £2.50 for a pot of tea is overpriced, and I shall not return. The cafe is very ordinary.I would at least expect a biscuit with the tea

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

Haven't stayed, but excellent range of well-kept cask ales including normally a couple from Penzance Brewing Co in Crowlas, near Penzance.
