The chicken bites here are amazing, whenever my partner and I go, we end up getting them, best chips I've ever had in a chip shop everrr, curry sauce is proper curry sauce too, and the staff are always very friendly, chatty and just great people, thanks trawlers, become my fav place to go in Storrington ❤️

Good local village fish and chips takeaway offering a senior citizens mid week lunch time special price for a small cod and chips. Freshly prepared and offering excellent value.

Phoned to place order. No reply. Checked open hours. Should have been Open till 9pm. My husband Drove 2 miles to get fish and chips. Arrived just before 8pm. Told they had run out of fish. Only sausage left and 1 portion of chips. They should have put a message on the answer phone. Wasting people time and resources. Door closed in my husbands face after saying they had no food. Very rude. We will not be returning.

Visited late on Thursday evening in desperation for food after an afternoon on the TET so really didn't expect much. How wrong I was! The chips were the best I've had in a very long time and the pukka pie went down a treat. Friendly staff and good pricing. Very happy :-)

Got the family take away after a days walking. I thought it was going to be good as the fish was cooked to order but alas, I was disappointed. The freshly cooked fish was wrapped in grease proof paper so all the batter stuck to the paper when unwrapped, the pie had a burnt black top that would have been clearly visible when wrapped and the chips were only just warm, quite amazing for a 1815 visit on a Saturday! As for the staff, there was a young lady serving at the till who was clearly trying her best but this was constrained by a more mature lady cooking who clearly was not happy. It appeared that they did not get along. I won’t be returning.

There isn't much to review about a fish and chip shop is there. It's either good batter, well cooked and good quality fish, or good chips. Well here the chips are perfect and the fish was both well battered and good quality. But the chips are perfect, just like the ones you got fifty years ago. Very clean premises, I waited ten minutes for food which I think is very good. One fault, they don't take cards. We've left the cash era, you cannot just rely on taking cash any more. But the chips make going to a cash point worthwhile.

Our favourite take away! Tasty chips, fish & chicken is always good. Lovely staff, order is always steaming hot & ready to go. Absolutely no complaints from us at all - only compliments!!

We needed to find where to eat after a long day walk, we saw the long queue for the takeaway but luckily the restaurant had a table for 6. We received excellent service considering that the place was full and we have a very demanding group. The restaurant is very clean and the food superb! I certainly will visit and recommend it. Another group from our party uses the take way service and they express equal high level of satisfaction.

What a joke 55 minute wait very disorganised they must have gone to catch the fish and dug up the potatoes for the chips

Really lovely fish (Cod & Haddock) and very generous portions! Excellent "chip shop" style chips which were not at all greasy. Lovely mushy peas. Would have been 5 stars but no gluten free options.

Over the last 25 years we’ve had several chip shops in Storrington but this one has always outshone the others and seen them off. I treat myself once a week and the fish is always beautifully cooked and the chips never too greasy. Highly recommended.

Being from the North it’s fair to say I like a good chippy. Me and my partner had food here on passing through, it was nice, the chips were good, fish was nice; I wanted pie chips and gravy, they had no gravy. But I’m getting used to that now down here. On the whole I would recommend this chippy, it was nice. We sat across the road eating on some benches and we noticed it is quite a busy little place with a steady flow of customers. I’d stop there again if I was passing through. I’ve give a middle score because of gravy.

Not been here before but best fish and chips had for a long time. Freshly prepared to order, incredible home cut chips. Highly recommend

Dreadful, absolutely dreadful!! Cod that was so dry it was almost powdery and batter was pale and soft and tasteless. Never again!

Picture on Trip Advisor is completely misleading as it of a chippy in Worthing. Fish portions are small. "cod" is suspect. Recently ordered skate but threw it away, smelt very off.Chips sometimes OK, sometimes lot's of bits. Service... best described as weird

Good value for money and so far we have not been disappointed, You have to wait at busy times but the food is freshly cooked so worth the wait. We will be returning.

Really good tasty chips, the children's menu is good too. The service is excellent, never had to wait too long. Parking is a bit difficult but not impossible. Unfortunately they only take cash which is a bit of a shame in these days of cards/phones being the way most of us pay.

Good quality, freshly cooked. Would recommend if in the area. You have to wait at busy times but it is worth it to get freshly cooked good tasting food

Very disappointing fish and chips from Trawlers. The chips were horrible, more like cubes or off cuts of potato....not even chip shape, and hard and tasteless. The “large” cod (if it was cod) was very thin and flat, and covered in a very strange yellowish batter....which was also very thin, and very greasy. Not very nice at all. Such a shame.

The serving experience is chaotic and terribly slow. The final fish and chips were nothing special and far too greasy. Soggy batter and flabby chips, poor quality cod. Not a great eating experience

Having read a number of reviews on TripAdvisor I was a little worried what quality I might find. However, my wife said I should make up my own mind. Reassured to find on arrival that there was a queue. Service is a little slow, but once I got home I was pleasantly surprised to find the chips still reasonably crisp. The onion rings were a little disappointing and the scampi was nicely cooked, but then served in a box with some tatty salad. The scampi, however, was good and not too greasy.Will use the shop again.

Had fish and Chips Wednesday 6th August for supper a couple hours later partner was vomiting and very unwell all night. Lucky we are on holiday so will never go back for fish and Chips there again.

Fast service, polite staff, great fish and chips. The whole family really enjoyed it.......rare we all agree on anything! What's not to like?

I had just popped in to try trawlers out and I the food was disgusting and I ended up chucking it all away.

Called in at lunchtime for 2 large cod and 1 small chips. Fish cooked to order, ready in 10 minutes as advised. The fish was excellent, large pieces with crispy batter. Chips tasted better than they looked.

Chips tasted like they had been recooked when we went in October such a shame as previously they were lovely, not sure why you would do this as this has really put me off going back.

We have purchased fish and chips here over a long period, including the past year, and have never been disappointed.

The food from this place is 100 per cent sickening and when i was get my food from this place it makes me unwell for days.

Lovely staff. The senior citizen portion is more than enough for most people, I think. Chips need more cooking [I give them about 5 minutes+ in the oven after collection, but I always find that with standard F&C; shops.

I had the misfortune to purchase fish and chip today they were rubbish and should have been binned as we did. I think the chips had been recooked left over from yesterday the batter on the fish was soggy plus the fact there was not a lot of it. I would suggest if this the best you can do give up

When I walked in there were no other customers waiting so ordered straight away with the girl on the counter once she had finished on her phone. Order large cod and large chips no salt and vinegar as I was going to share the chips with my young son. The lady said would be about 5/6 minutes which is fine so waited. My fish was cooked to order but the chips well I don’t know how long they had been sat there she tossed them around a few times then served in the wrapper. Once I got home opened the wrapper up the fish is very greasy and oily very uninviting and the chips are even worse cold soggy and had black specs all over them like they had been cooked in very dirty oil. I served it and only gave my son a few of the chips as they didn’t look good at all. The fish was alright once I got through the greasy thick batter but the chips were disgusting and I didn’t eat them neither did my son which is saying something ! Definitely won’t be going there ever again.

Wow what a let down!! Gone down hill since Alex and Curt stopped running the place! Ordered a small chips, medium cod, curry sauce and bread roll. The curry sauce was unbelievable looked absolutely vile and tasted the same, the bread roll was stale and the portions were dire! If you want good fish and chips then Ashington it is from now on!! Shame used to be a little gold mine!

The chips and curry’s sauce are atrocious you can’t even dip in the curry sauce it’s to thick and you need a trowl , and the Small chips are exsactly the same as the large !!!! Can you tell the difference between large and small !!!!

The fish was burnt oily and so was the chips , I will never be going back ever again. Stay clear at all costs.

Great tasting fish always cooked to order. Chips are mostly excellent- exactly what you would expect in a chip (crisp to bite with a fluffy inside and piping hot) although occasionally they miss the mark Staff are friendly and helpful

The curry sauce was all hard, the sausage wasn’t cooked and all the chip was burnt!! By far the worst fish and chip shop in the world it need shutting down 😡😡

After waiting half an hour get the wrong order and way over cooked food.Last time was given squid rings instead of onion rings-so bad for seafood allergies!!! Not like it used to be.Try some where else and spend your hard earned money

We have been going here since it reopened and we have always had freshly cooked food and it was a joy to use. Then we visited a few weeks ago and the fish was over cooked and had obviously been standing around for a while. But everyone may have a off day so tonight we went again. What can we say the fish was so over cooked it was like eating shredded cardboard, the chips I could have done better at home and the curry sauce was thick with skin on the top. Sorry to say but we won't be going back.

I always try to support local business so I will try not to be too critical. I think you guys seriously need to think about being more professional. I have just bought my family supper home from your shop and to be fair the complaints from my family made are quite justified. I arrived at your shop at around 6.50pm and ordered our food, the shop was not busy or slack and from my retail experience I would say steady footfall. I told the young lady that served me that rather than wait I would return in around 10 minutes. I walked down the High Street( the square) to the White Horse and had half a pint of beer. I then went back to the shop to collect our fish and chips.

But now we know how good fresh food, cooked well, can taste. Must up their game if they want to compete with my microwave. M.

Since moving to Storrington we have used Trawlers about every two weeks. The fish is always freshly cooked and has always been fantastic. We are always offered other things from the menu and have found the breaded mushrooms a favourite

Great friendly service plus good portions. Food was yummy. Fish (cod) excellent. Had to wait for the cod to cook (6minutes) but therefore nice and fresh.

Really,Really good friendly staff, cooked to order good old fashioned chippy how they used be. Portions are generous and prices are fair, Great location.

I have never been disappointed by the quality of the fish and chips here. So much better than other options. We travel to get to it rather than use our local as its well worth it. (But don't be confused as the picture on here is not the right shop through)

A fantastic local fish and chip shop. A great range of good quality food at very reasonable prices. The service is good too with happy, polite staff always willing to pass the time of day with you.

Seriously, this was dreadful. I come from South Devon and have eaten a lot of fish and chips. These are definitely the very worst I've ever had. Instead of being at all crispy, the batter was burned to being incredibly tough around the edges, soaking wet on the sides and the fish inside was so overcooked it was as dry and chewy as an old shoe. Ridiculously bad. The chips meanwhile were undercooked and and hard, and were mostly tiny bits. It was obviously all cooked a long time before I walked in : everything was dry and deeply nasty. And don't even get me started on the pot of green soup with tasteless green lumps in that they have the gall to call mushy peas; they were inedible. In fact the only good bit were the pickled onions...the only bit they couldn't ruin! The prices were very high, the "large" chips was like a small portion anywhere else and the staff were deeply unfriendly.

Had a quick stop in Storrington West Sussex, it's a small village about 15 miles from Worthing, I was starving so popped in to the Trawlers Chippy, cod and chips, fantastic cook fresh to order well worth the stop.

Was travelling all day and stopped off as saw chippy as we passed through village. All had fish and chips which was all cooked to order. Lovely crispy batter and thick pieces of cod with fresh chips. Would definitely use again when passing.

I am not normally a fan of Fish and Chips, but Trawlers knocks socks off all the shops I have ever visited. Batter was very light on the Cod and the chips were divine. All cooked to order and then taken back home to dine out on. Will certainly purchase from there again

Popped in here on my way back home. Picked up some Huss and chips (large portion....not joking is was bloody massive!!). Lovely crispy batter, moist fish and great chips. Got some mushy peas as well. All in all a great chippy. Also the boss was nice enough to explain what the Huss is like which was as nice touch, glad I tried it. Thanks!

We buy fish and chips from here on a regular basis and have never had reason to complain. The portions are very generous and freshly cooked. Very clean shop with friendly staff. We couldn't ask for anything better.

First time visit. Generous portions. Friendly staff. Chips were nice and crisp. Not soggy or over fatty. Fish was fresh and well battered. Nothing bad. Nothing great. Good average meal.

Food was terrible more bad chips than good and we got the impression that the surly unfriendly staff thought they were doing us a favour by serving us. Will definitely NOT be returning.

Chips was dark as if oil needs changing and there was more bad chips than good ones won't be stopping here anymore

Probably the best of the three "chippies" in Storrington. Located on the main street so easy to park in the library car park and walk 3 minutes to it.

We stopped here on our way back from the beach for a take away plaice and chips and haddock and chips. Both were fantastic, lovely batter and such nice chips. Husband who is very hard to please gave it 10/10!!!! Well done! This place is ONLY a take away--no restaurant seating.

Have tried both fish and chip shops in Storrington and have to say Trawlers is far superior. The quality of the fish and service is second to none. Would highly recommend to locals and passing custom alike

I have had a few fish and chip suppers and the quality is excellent sometimes on a Friday it can be busy but I have never had to wait any longer then 10 minutes

Fish & Chips are rarely a cheap meal anymore for a family of 4 so you expect them to be good. Had cod and chips recently and found the chips under cooked. The cod was very nice. Not sure if this was because the shop had just opened up for the evening.

Arguably the best fish and chips in the area. Cooked to order while you wait therefore fresh. Prices reasonable and staff helpful. As long as we have Trawlers, I wouldn't bother going elsewhere.

Came here from the return of holiday from Wales with my parents and had fish and chips but the chip shop doesn't sell gravy only mushy peas and curry sauce. They ask you if you want mushy peas otherwise you will get it for free. But the food was. Apparently they were serving 60 people. Would go again.
