I’ve taste better food for a stables than this place. Not nice at all!

Food was okay priced and was ready quickly, however that may be why everything tasted like it had been microwaved. I’m not usually picky with food but you could tell it was cooked the day before or earlier in the day before they opened and then just warmed up before giving it to customers. To add, I ordered on a Tuesday not long after they opened when it wasn’t busy so there was no need to re-heat or microwave the food. It should all be fresh

My partner and I was recommended to come here but the food was truly awful. We ordered a curry dish which tasted bad, a satay dish which was orangey colour and reassemble nothing like a satay. The only thing good was the chilli salt wings. Unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Gave this one a go and it was brilliant reasonable price and good portion sizes will not go anywhere else now!

Enjoyed my takeaway very much. The only suggestion I could make is maybe start doing Chips, fried rice and curry sauce together in the metal trays.

Great local takeaway, have used on numerous occasions over the years, one of the few takeaways where we've never had a bad meal.

For an excellent Chinese takeaway you can't find anything better Sweet and sour pork, egg fried rice, Singapore rice noodles and beef Peking style. Absolutely great!! Took no time, when down great. Spot on!!

The worst take away I have ever had...the sauce was all gloopy and the fried beef with cashew nuts looked like something they had pulled up out of the sewer! I would not recommend this Chinese at all

well ordered today and they screwed up my order first time and had to call them to ask where rest of it

...after 30 years as our Go To Take out King Chef needs to tighten up its act.A sudden change of plans put my wife and I into finding food for ourselves.Having lived locally and used King Chef for many years and on our regular visits we always drop back to king Chef for at least one meal it was a disappointment to have a mediocre meal supplied.The mixed Chinese starters were as ever very good.But the mains were bland and lacklustre.The Sweet and Sour pork I ordered was bland, the sweet and sour just heavily vinegared. No real sweetness.My wife ordered Chicken in Yellow Bean with cashews. her favourite main. The resultant dish was very food-colouring RED in look and taste, and the number of cashews was in single figures. This was not Yellow Bean Chicken clearly two orders had been mixed up.I hope the person that ordered the red chicken meal enjoyed the yellow been with cashew chicken.I cook a LOT of Chinese dishes at home and both were very far from the mains I produce and from what we had been used to.On this showing King Chef is on the slide to mediocrity so next time I may vote with my feet and try another takeaway. 30 years of being our 'go to' choice and recommended to others status look to be under threat.Buck your ideas up guys your reputation is under threat.

Ordered prawn toast chicken fried rice and a pork Curry get home I have an extra rice plain Phone up , the answer was it comes with the pork curry . So I got charged for a rice that I didn’t even want Sly!!! Not are you sure you want a chicken rice sir as the plain rice comes with its own rice You rip off unbelievable Be carful .

Terrible food won't be going back

We ordered the crispy aromatic duck, egg fried rice, crispy wong tong, dumplings and lemon chicken. We usual use another Chinese in the area but due to covid no others were open, so we decided to try king chef, I ordered our food early for a collection at 8pm, the man on the phone was friendly enough and the food was ready at our requested time.Lemon chicken there was lots lemon sauce and my husband tells it was good. The dumplings were ok, the egg frid rice was fine as you would expect, the duck was lovely well prepared and hardly any fat. For me the worst part was the crispy wong tongs, these were badly wrapped the meat on half on them had fallen out, and they were over cooked. Decent meal and good value for money.

King Chef is by far the best Chinese around! Excellent food and fantastic service! I HIGHLY recommend King Chef!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We ordered a takeaway this evening and my husband asked for there to be no fish, prawns or fish sauce in the meal as I am allergic. But there were prawns in the noodles!! When we called to complain they said prawns weren’t fish so it didn’t matter!?! Certainly won’t be eating from here again. And I hope for their sake I don’t end up with an allergic reaction!

Ordered sweet and sour chicken - was awful! Vinegar taste and smell! I am a huge fan of Asian food and I have never had this awful chicken! Also had egg fried rice and fried beef with black peper. These two were good :) But all experience was destroyed because they don't serve chopsticks? 1£ For one pair!

Worst Chinese I've had. All tastes like it's been fried together in a strange tasting oil. Would not go back again

I have used the Chinese take-away trading from this shop for over 25 years. I have not yet had a poor meal from here. The standard of food is high the staff efficient. When you find good suppliers you need to make it known. Whilst it is not always jumping with activity there is a steady flow of phone and walk in orders. I can see no reason to move my custom elsewhere as thus far it has always met my needs and to a consistent standard.

Moving into the area last year, one thing I had hoped for was a decent Chinese to replace the one I was leaving on my old town. After double digit visits to King Chef, I’m yet to have a bad experience.The beef and mushrooms is always a winner, as in the lemon chicken. The takeaway is manned by one person, quite quiet but polite and friendly enough.Highly recommended.

Been eating from here for years and think it’s easily the best Chinese in Billingshurst, Chow mein is always good as is the Crispy Shreaded beef, don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience from them. You also seem to get free prawn crackers if your order is over £10, only problem is they don’t deliver.

Tastes great just like the food your mum used to make. I don't think it's greasy at all not cold. If it is cold it would be your fault since who decides to drove to London and back then pick up the food

This has to be the worst takeaway I have ever had! The sauce was congealed, there was way too much onion and the chicken had such a peculiar texture that I had to ask my husband if he thought it really was chicken!

This take away Chinese is just Average some dishes like the aromatic duck were good but the egg fried rice was like boiled rice and the pancake roll was tasteless- there are better takeaways in the area

Absolutely dreadful, the duck chow Mein was inedible, tasted like petrol, so I threw it away. The rest of the meal was poor, the spring rolls were cold and tasted of nothing. This disastrous experience was our first venture back after a disaster on New Year's Eve which involved waiting for our food for over two hours, at which point we were told our food would be at least another 45 minutes so we had to give up. In short, do all you can to avoid King Chef. If only Billingshurst had a decent Chinese restaurant.

wanted to find a decent takeaway local, and theres not that much choice in billingshurst but this was a nice takeaway . well cooked and fresh. a little bit pricey but not to bad. if your looking for good food try this one.
