Poor experience. My tofu dish had no taste, so bland and neither did the mixed veg (I asked them to cook it in garlic and ginger). No flavour or interest. Spring rolls were a huge disappointment, also no flavour, and such a standard for Chinese food. Husband had prawn curry which he liked, steamed rice fine. Dog enjoyed the prawn crackers.

Not bad but not great either. Good for the price. Like with most takeaways picking the right dish might make it or break it. I ordered mushrooms in black bean sauce and was somewhat disappointed that there was no other veg (like onions, carrots) not that there was any promise of it on the menu, to be fair :), just closed cup mushrooms with a bit of black bean sauce and lots of oil. After I've drained most of the oil, taste was ok. Would recommend for oily Chinese food lovers :)

Really friendly staff, food was fresh, plentiful and delicious,not salty. We ordered Beef in Ginger with spring onion, King po spicy prawns (huge and juicy),sweet and sour battered chicken balls (fresh non greasy batter), Singapore vermicelli rice noodles and egg fried rice. Got free prawn crackers too. Great price,definitely recommend.

The place looks unprepossessing from the outside but seems clean enough inside, and service is friendly and quick. We were slightly disappointed with our last meal from here, but usually it’s good. These people are old-fashioned. You won’t find them on the internet - if you see a menu on there it hasn’t been posted by them, and is probably well out of date.

Best Chinese takeaway in Horsham hands down. Best food and the cheapest. Lovely people, too. Don't be tempted by others just because of their presence on one of the delivery services. Just give the Hong Kong a call.

Sadly we see decided to have a change from our usual take away and ordered based in reviews. Utterly disappointed. None of it was edible. Soaked in oil and they burned something in the cooking which then flooded through everything we ordered so everything just tasted burnt. Awful. I called up just to say what had happened and just got a very interested "Oh sorry about that. Nobody else has complained" So that obviously means we can't have been genuine. Will never use Hong Kong again.

Some really good Chinese food and really nice staff. They are also always open to customisations if it's not on the menu.

Great food, great value. A couple of menu items aren't quite as we expected so we don't order those any more but don't let our taste put you off

I have been using this Chinese for almost 30 years and I have never had a problem with the food or service. Food is always hot, and delicious, quick delivery never disappointed.

***Highley recommended*** I ordered the Singapore rice noodles, sesame prawn toast and some broccoli & carrot in garlic sauce. Everything was excellent to be honest, the Singapore noodles where particularly good...perfect amount of spice! Very polite and welcoming on the phone, food arrived 10 mins early and still piping hot! Im seriously impressed all round with this service, but the food honestly is good quality, you won't be disappointed, I certainly wasn't! Thanks Hong Kong!

We ordered from this restaurant for the first time. I had the chicken curry. I wouldn't rate it as 'bad', but I couldn't describe it as tasty... It was simply bland. Not very many onions in it, it was missing some major ingredient that gives Chinese chicken curry its signature taste... Definitely missing a kick.

Not much more to add to the title. We have been using the Hong Kong Takeaway for probably 15 years and will continue to do so. Note that this is only a takeaway, no option to eat in.

I rarely get a take away, but when I do this is my go to - sadly never again. I don’t know if it’s changed hands or chefs but it’s really different and not in a good way. The food was really greasy and nearly cold on top of that it was much changed from how it used to be. Sadly I’ll never order food from here again.

We don’t often have a Chinese but when we do it’s always from Hong Kong Takeaway .... they are so helpful and recently we have asked for less salt in our order and they happily obliged ... so fab meal with no raging thirst the next day ... always deliver earlier than expected ...

We have a takeaway (there is no eat-in) every 6-8 weeks. Delivery is free within Horsham and usually takes about 45 minutes. Pay by credit card when ordering. Most drivers don't hang around for a tip but some do. They always send fortune cookies that go straight in the bin. I would ask them not to but I am not sure if that is rude or considered bad luck. Same goes for the calendar.

Thought we would try this takeaway rather than our usual based on the great reviews, I’m not sure how people can describe it as the best Chinese takeaway. The food was bland and mushy, the sauces were watery with no flavour the meat was mushy. It is the worst takeaway I have had.

have been using the hong kong now for severall years and still comes up good value the portion sizes are better than average and the quality is always good the waiting times quoted are accurate and always an enjoyable meal.

We have a Chinese takeaway about once every 6-8 weeks and we always use the Hong Kong Takeaway in East Street. We phone in the order, wait 30-40 minutes for the food to turn up at the door then get stuck in. Usually we'll heat the food up for 60s a plate in the microwave just to bring it up to temperature. The food is reliably good, always dependable. We have been using this takeaway for about 15 years and have no reason to change. The tickboxes in the review suggest that this may be a restaurant but that would be wrong; it's only a takeaway.

Omg this was the worst place I’ve ever got a take away from. After looking at these reviews I’m very shocked at what I’ve read and find it hard to believe after what I’ve been surved up. This is the first time I’ve ever made a review but felt that this was needed. Please see photos attached of my satay sticks. NOT COOKED AND THE REST WENT STRAIGHT ONTO THE BIN.

always the best chinese large portions very fresh and reasonably priced compared to others in horsham have been using for a year now and no complaints.

This was the first time we have been to this takeaway but will return. Although the online menu was very old we ordered our food which arrived 40minutes later & on a Saturday evening is very good. The food was hot & tasty and manageable portion sizes.

started using this takeaway around six months ago to replace our usual that was becoming to expensive we find the portions are a good size and the food quality is excellant well recomended.

We have tried every Chinese in Horsham and Hong Kong is by far the best. Food is always delivered efficiently and hot and they are always happy to alter dishes to specific requirements. Highly recommend.

Awfull if a chinese cant even get rice right then walk away, a solid congealed lump of bland........erm i dont know what, as for the previous review saying no msg? Are you seriouse? My beef satay was slimey tasteless and so tender it disolved in my mouth, now if thats not a sign of msg i dont know what is, as for the noodles i didnt dare try them as so put off

It's the 2nd time we've had a take away from here,the lady on the phone was helpful and polite it was busy so had about an hours wait for food but that's the rule for a Saturday's!!! the food was hot and fresh can't fault the crispy duck, a lot of meat in both dishes, plus free fortune cookies,winner all round!!!

Siempre hemos encontrado lo más complaciente con respecto a la comida gratis, a diferencia de otro crítico. gms Sí, necesitan unos días de aviso para algunos platos y siempre servicial aconsejándonos si algo contiene MSG e. g pan de gambas, que presumiblemente son comprados. Calidad de la comida y la elección es excelente y la comida siempre muy caliente cuando se opte por la opción de entrega.

I have been using this take away for years, it has always been top quality food. The deliver free in a certain radius if you spend over their min amount. The people who deliver are always polite and friendly

I tried this takeaway for the first time for many years and was very impressed . It was a small simple order ,curry beef , hong kong chow mein and a portion of fried rice .

Went there for the first time and asked if they were able to supply food without MSG. I was looked at rather blankly and then the chef gwas rather grumpy (he id look very harrased) said they did not. This was very disappointin so went to Panda House instead and had a lovely meal!

A small business which has been in the same family for decades and we hope it's here for a lot longer. It's always our choice of takeaway.The food is excellent as are the portion sizes, and I agree with other recent reviewers that the free delivery service is very reliable and courteous.Our current favourite dish is 'Ku-Po Beef' (pronounced 'Kung-Po') which is almost insanely tasty.We're still working through the whole menu...

Normally we order for delivery as soon as possible and expect around a 30-40 minute wait.I strongly recommend them for taste, value for money, reliability and efficiency.

Another family birthday and again we decided to have a Chinese meal.We considered the several restaurants in town but ultimately the choice was easy - collect from this takeaway.The service from the delightful owners was superb, our meal was produced as soon as we arrived and we were delighted that we had been provided with 'extras' in the form of fortune cookies and prawn crackers.It worked out so much cheaper than going to a restaurant yet the food was well up to restaurant standards.The 'sweet and sour chicken in batter' in particular was superb as it contained large chunks of breast of chicken, unlike the reconstituted cr-p we've had from other places.But everything was great, and we'll continue to use this small family business. We can't understand why they are so little-known in Horsham, but they are 'tucked away' in a quiet edge of town and the owners told us that they never advertise as they are kept busy with their regular clientele.

We gave up on the downmarket Sussex Barn restaurant and for a recent family birthday had another delivery from here instead. It was as good as eating in a restaurant but much cheaper, and no need to pay restaurant prices or high mark-ups on drinks.Look at all the negative reviews for the Jade City restaurant down the road, and try this instead.

I don't know why there are so few reviewers of this lovely place, which has been run by the same family for many years. Perhaps it's because it's slightly away from the main town centre, not easy to find, and they don't advertise.What they DO do is cook excellent food. We have just had a delivered meal which was well up to normal high standards.Thoroughly recommended!

We regularly patronise this place and don't need to look anywhere else in the Horsham area for well-cooked and delicious food.
