Breakfast was included with room and was served promptly with large tasty portions. Breakfast was so good we made reservations for dinner and it did not disappoint. Would definitely stay/ eat at the Trawden Arms in the future!

Booked dinner for 5pm. Arrived early and placed order at 4.45 with Alex who was polite and helpful. 17.30 we asked if our meal was ready to be told they were busy as had an event on. 18.10 still no sight of food, The couple on the next table also had been waiting an hour. More than an hour after our order was placed we were told that the haloumi was sold out. As a mother and grandma of 2 chefs we should have been told when the order was placed that the haloumi wasn't available and did we.have an alternative order. ALL competent chefs/Managers/landlords should know their stock levels and at least should make their customers aware at the point of order if they couldn't fulfil their requests. Alex poor soul was so embarrassed having to tell us time after time just '5 minutes'. We asked to speak to the manager Jamie. He arrived and was the rudest person I have ever spoken to!! Apparently he and not the customer is always right. GORDON RAMSEY has nothing on him. Trawden Arms, get a manager who cares about his clientele, a chef who can order enough stock and not serve frozen food that can be purchased from Lidl for a fraction of the price!!!

Was going to be down on business and noticed that this was a commuity owned pub after the local community raised the cash to keep the last pub in the village opened which is a really cool story. When we arrived on Saturday evening the place was packed which showed the community continued to rally round. This doesn't surprise me as the staff were friendly, service great & the food hit the spot. Good selection of beers too. The rooms are nicely done and the whole package was reasonably priced.

The tables were very clean and well spaced out. The bar area was very well screened and a one way system was in place. It was difficult to decide what to have to eat off the menu as everything sounded very appetising and most was different to anywhere else we'd visited. As it was a Sunday, I decided on the traditional Sunday lunch and my partner, being a fussy veggie, decided on the veggie curry. Food prices here aren’t the cheapest, but the choice and quality is good, as is the portion size. However, a couple of our dishes had perhaps been on the warming plate a little too long (sauce had developed a skin / curled water cress garnish).Service is friendly, from the pretty young waitresses, and there’s plenty of seating. Our evening meal was very good and all four of enjoyed what we ordered. After enjoying a 3 hour walk with my family around wycoller we was looking forward to a nice cold cider and a light bite to eat. As we live pretty local (fence) so we knew of the trawden arms. When we entered the barman looked at us like we were something he had stepped in. My husband and son sat down and I approached the bar and I asked if I could order some food. I was told abruptly we aren’t serving food I replied oh ok not even sandwich’s. He then shouted over the pub to my husband ‘we aren’t serving food and you can’t sit there’ even though the board outside clearly said ‘food served’ and there wasn’t any reserved sign on the table. The manager then said to the barman ‘we are’ to which he replied ‘you told me to say we wasn’t’ my husband and son said let’s leave. as we was walking out she told me we could sit outside and as long as we paid for it she would bring the food outside and that the man was new behind the bar. The food here won’t win any awards for presentation, (it’s a bit like you’d serve at home / our vegetables came in what looked like the lid of a casserole dish), nor the waiting staff for being available / knowing the menu details eg what the soup of the day is. However, having said that, all dishes were plentiful, tasty and good value. All were served with a smile and with good timing. The pub is nicely decorated and has a reasonably large car park. Well worth a visit and just a little polish off a 5*.

i went to the trawden arms with my mother as she had been recommended this venue. we called at lunchtime on Saturday and requested food menu. the pub was very quiet as only one other table inside was occupied. we struggled a little with the menu as we were really looking for a sandwich or light snack as opposed to full meal and found our choice a bit limited and on the whole a little expensive for lunch. on asking the waitress if sandwiches were available we were advised only the food on the menu was offered so we chose the garlic mushrooms with warm ciabatta starter and when it arrived was well presented and a good size for what was usually a starter. although the sauce on the mushrooms was creamy and delicious I couldn't really taste much garlic therein and the ciabatta strips were excellent so I did enjoy the dish. overall but due to the limited choice available would be more likely to visit our usual local pub/restaurant in a nearby village which offers more of a varied mixture of excellent food and never lets us down

The pub was busy, warm and had a good atmosphere. We booked a table for 5 of us 3 of us had chicken curry which was tasty but they forgot the poppadom. We had to ask for them and when they served they were extremely greasy - having just been deep fried. We had to get extra serviettes to wipe the grease off. The waiting on staff seemed a little stretched but were friendly. My friend enjoyed her burger but ordered some onion rings as an extra but she left them as they were too doughy. Another or our party had the Thai Raman which looked amazing and she loved it! The Chenin wine was lovely. We got the bill and extra drinks had been added so we took those off the total. Overall there is room for improvement but has strong potential. Sorry about the pic I was hungry and started eating before I took a picture!

Some of the best food I’ve tasted in a long time. As a chef it’s not easy to not criticise food from somewhere you have never eaten before. But this place has one of the finest menus I have come across! I suggest to any one and everyone to book and eat your heart out in the warm comfortable environment!

I regularly visit the Trawden Arms and never let down by the friendly efficient service and the fantastic food. Decor is lovely and the place in bright, airy and clean.Menu is great - lots of choice! The garlic mushroom starter is a must! Lovely Sunday roasts and theme nights too. Often take friends and visitors there. Also welcomes walkers and dogs. The only thing missing is a beer garden rather than tables on the road side but I guess where it is located there isn't much of a choice? Would just be nice to sit outdoors in summer not next to the road side.Looking forward to the beer festival in a few weeks time!

Came here with my fella on the night of Saturday (01/04) it was brilliant! A good choice on the menu, lovely people who served us and a nice little room all made it extra special. I had garlic mushrooms to start - they were heavenly! And then the cod special! I was not disappointed, there were so many perfectly put together flavours on my plate (still dreaming about it now) everything perfectly cooked! Then i got chocolate orange torte for dessert and that was yum too! My fella equally enjoyed his, and I would love to return!

Visited in late October on a lovely sunny day which really painted this pubs beautiful location in a perfect light. We are from the Midlands visiting family who are local and we all received a lovely warm welcome. The pub is lovingly decorated with great views over the local countryside. The staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu options. The food itself was plentiful, tasty and well presented. Additional top marks to the owner who went the extra mile to look after a member of our party who unfortunately was taken suddenly unwell, thank you. We will definitely visit again when back in the area.
