We came here for my grandad‘s birthday and as a family have been to this place many times. The service is impeccable and the food is absolutely delicious, great value for money. A real hidden gem

I have been going to this restaurant for 40 years! Hadn’t visited for a couple of years and went for lunch with an old friend. In an ever changing world it is comforting to know that some things don’t change. Great food great service from Kenny and his team!

Booked for lunch with friends . Two menus available but we did three courses set menu. The choices I could have chosen all. I had prawn cocktail for starters and one of the tastiest I’ve had . All our meal choices were different and all looked delicious. Service impeccable as always . Thank you and we’ll be back soon 🥰

Our First Time at Trattoria Romana. We Made a Reservation for Dinner on Valentines Day. Welcoming, Intimate, Lively Atmosphere from Arrival to Departure. We Sensed a Regular Clientele Base. Terrific Menu and Wine List, All Sensibly Priced and from Our Experience Great Value! First Class Italian Dishes, Good Portions, Well Presented and Delicious. Friendly, Professional and Attentive Staff. We Will be Back!

Don't be fooled by the outside of this restaurant. It's lovely inside. Service was impeccable food delicious and great atmosphere.

This place is amazing and does not change. They serve consistently good food. The service is consistently amazing and so so friendly. The dessert trolley is the best and they always accommodate a cheeky little profiterole with my homemade choice of banoffee pie or tiramisu. We have been going here years and it is always busy. Would definitely recommend this Italian. Also extremely good value for money.

You can’t find fault with this restaurant. The staff a polite and friendly. Service is impeccable. Food is freshly cooked and delicious. Pieces are more than reasonable. There’s something for everyone.

Saddens me to right this review because I always loved this restaurant We moved away years ago but were meeting old friends and booked a table for 8.30 When we arrived they had forgotten about our booking! As I said love the restaurant but having made a long journey to be there it was really really disappointing and didn’t even get a proper apology

My wife and our friend ,have used this restaurant,lot of times food ,as been good.but Saturday lunchtime she had prawn cocktail and prawns was still frozen.Then wife and her had fish,which at to go back twice ,because was cold.That was it,did have pudding .That's worse meal .and won't go back again.

16 of us went for a Xmas lunch, +there was another 2 Xmas party’s, from start to finish, 1st class, the service was brilliant, the food was hot, &plenty of it, & the ‘sweet trolly’ was to die for, all made by there brilliant chef, would highly recommend this place, just brilliant,

Ordered a fillet steak. Was served a rump! Although was nice , tried to pass off as fillet. I work all over the uk and i know my steak! Wanted to kick off but my companion wouldn't let me, Never again!

Celebrated my daughter’s 50th birthday. We had never visited this restaurant before, but the service, ambiance and especially the food were superb.

Update: Still incredible - food is always amazing and friendly staff. We still go here on special occasions but often get taken away as well... Probably the best take away in Ashford!!! Excellent restaurant... We always go here for special occasions because the food is amazing and the atmosphere is so friendly. We have recently started getting take away here as well and it is just as good. Highly recommended!

visited on 27/11/23. had the set lunch menu, the food was, as always delicious, in particular the saute potatoes, the best ever. the staff were very friendly and efficient.

This was our second viset.This time we had the a la carte menu. My husband had the liver and i had steak , both superb .Great service great ambience.A truly great anniversary

Popped in before seeing a show locally. It was just for a quick bite. Service was good but the main was poor. We ordered lasagne and it came with only two sheets of pasta and a very runny filling. No depth of flavour the Ragu was runny not much meat at all. I’ve never had lasagne like it and it felt like a ready meal. Garlic bread was little sub rolls with mozzarella also I bit strange. As it was just a quick bite we didn’t bother saying anything but if it was for a proper meal would have. We were in and out in 35min.

OMG! What a find, Went here for the first time with my father for. Special occasion Seated straight away, we had booked in. Bread brought orphan the table while we looked at menu. Really good menu. Pasta, vegetarians, veal, chicken, fish. Fantastic food portions. Most could be shared between two. We had a starter and a main and then saw the sweet trolley though we had no room left. Fantastic service. Cannot fault and we return and we will recommend. Just amazing.

Prachtig restaurant. Het eten was echt fantastisch. Voorgerecht soep van de dag (bloemkoolsoep) echt heerlijk. De bediening is vriendelijk en professioneel. Hoofdgerechten zijn met grote zorg gemaakt en zeer smakelijk. Nagerechten zijn qua presentatie en smakelijkheid geweldig. Dit restaurant staat zeker op onze lijst om vaker te bezoeken als we weer in Engeland zijn. TOP.

Great value for money, never had a bad meal, good service both lunchtime and evening.

Pasta dishes are very tasty, although portion size is quite small. For an Italian restaurant to serve a finger bun as garlic bread was very unusual. Didn't fancy a sweet as they had sat on a trolley next to the bar all night

Went to this restaurant for the fist time. We had a fantastic meal. Had the set dinner menu and everything we had was presented well and tasted amazing. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very welcoming. We will be returning soon.

Such a wonderful meal. The service was great - friendly and quick. It was lovely to have complementary bread. I had the tortellini and each mouthful was amazing. The green salad was quite substantial and had a nice dressing. The black forest gateau was so light, I could have eaten the whole cake!

I visit this restaurant regularly and always enjoy a lovely meal. The staff are great and can’t do enough for you. Always happy to return for both lunch or dinner.

WOW !!!! what a find. The restaurant was buzzing with a real traditional 'old school vibe' (and that is a compliment). The staff friendly, engaging and efficient. A very good value set menu on offer alongside a very interesting al a carte menu. The food was first class, beautifully presented .... and oozed quality. The sweet trolley was a joy to behold !!!!

We had a lovely meal, very tasty. Lots of choice on the menu. 2 or 3 course menu also available. Very comfortable dining area, with lovely Italian pictures on the walls. Staff efficient and friendly. I’d definitely visit this restaurant again

Lovely place & great service. First time I stepped by on Saturday evening, and there was not a single chair. Fully packed! On od the stuff member (although being crazy busy) came immediately, and just ca confirmed the obvious: fully booked. I came again on Monday (Sunday they are closed). And “oh, I remember you, please have a seat” was a fabulous welcome. On the top, one of the things that I Ordered did not meet my expectations. And they exclude or from the bill! Even I don't insist, I just didn't like it, but there was nothing wrong with the food itself. Strongly recommended. 4 for food - because the pasta I had was a bit overcooked.

Amazing food and amazing service. Would highly recommend. This place is a hidden jem and I can’t wait to go back and try other dishes on the menu.

Plenty of choice on the desert trolley, apple strudel deliouse,only reason didn't give a 5star on food was only cream offered with desert. Great place for couple, families and groups of friends.

Went with a group of friends. We had the dinner set menu, which had a variety of meat, fish and vegetarian meals and is good value. Food portions are good size, but it tasted very mediocre, so unfortunately it won't be my first choice for Italian. The service was excellent and desserts looked good, although we didn't have any.

Brilliant service and amazing quality produce. The lunch set menu is a steal for the quality of food offered here. We were looked after very well and the place was quite clean. The Italian vegetarian options were offered well and enjoyed the lasagne. The wine option by glasses could cover quite a bit more options, that was the only blip. Other than that, everything was fab!

Popped in for a last-minute lunch on a Saturday and it couldn't have been better. 3 courses for £15.50?! Assumed the portions would be small but not at all. Lasagne was only on the menu as a starter but asked for it bigger as a main and it wasn't a problem at all. Whitebait was delicious, lasagne was nice and then an amazing choice of desserts from an old school trolley!

We had a meal in here two course mine was lovely and my friends meal was too if you like a heavy creamy Beef stroganoff and a heavy creamy Mushroom risotto, not a good idea to have two very similar tasting meals so she didn't eat much of them, but my friend had a Tia Maria to start before her food and one of two staff served us the first was an older man who made a comment twice about the Tia Maria ordered as if it is not the done thing my friend replied I'm cold and I feel it will warm me up a bit ! As we were leaving my friend saw the older man making a derogatory remark by pointing to the side of his head doing a circle motion implying that my friend was crazy, it's really bad customer service she won't go back which I don't blame her.

Been here a few times now and very impressed by the quality and affordability of the food and how lovely the staff are. Highly recommend.

Have to book as always busy, dinner for four, big portions and good size table staff are really nice we have been going there 30 years.

Heard good things about this place, but it disappointed me ..it was better years ago I've been told . IT SEEMS TO LACK THE ITALIAN WAY I ordered penne arrabiata first time came too soft second time was a bit too hard. I will be going back to try more in order to give them a better review The desert was good at least .

Popped in for lunch with a friend. Food was superb, along with the waiting staff. Prices were more than reasonable (£11 for 2 courses!!). Will be back again for sure!
