Il Pakkero in Ashford

This is great, authentic Italian pizza. The vegan options are not an exercise in compromise, as in other places that claim to offer vegan options and just present you with pizza with tomato sauce and no cheese. The vegan options are very cheesy and tasty and the dough elevates the pizza to one that can be called authentically Italian. The prices are very competitive and the owner is very friendly and approachable. The only downsides are that if you are eating 'in', so to speak, then the Coachworks Ashford does get pretty chilly in the winter, but this by no means should reflect badly on this particular business, also that at busy times you may need to wait a little bit longer and it might be worth ordering your pizza in advance. However, after visiting both at quieter times and at busier times, I have found that the quality of the pizza was not affected and that on repeated visits I left just as satisfied as the first time.

this evening we attended the Pizza making workshop with Father Christmas, what a fun experience with tasty pizza that we were allowed to cook and extra dough to take home to make more tomorrow!! The pizza were absolutely delicious that we had to order more. Father Christmas certainly knew he stuff about pizzas 🍕 Fun evening with the children & great tasting pizzas. Italian Santa will entertain the kids and adults!!! We had an absolute blast, his dough kneeding skills were off the chart, we made pizza as a family, spent quality time together, everyone in the room had a giggle. I think this brilliantly family run pizza house has a heart and soul, well worth a visit, as the pizza is banging! We will definitely be bringing the family here again!

One of the best pizza I ever had.

The best Italian style Pizza I’ve had outside of Italy. We had a Margarita (the other stuff on the menu looked just as good, seeing it on other tables) - Really tasty homemade dough with a great tomato base cooked in a clay fired oven. Spoke with one of the owners who clearly enjoyed what he did - he even mentioned pizza making classes which I hope to return for!

Recently did a make your own pizza evening and the guys were brilliant. Even catered for a dairy free option! Would highly recommend

Such a great pizza making workshop. We all had fun, such attentive hosts and delicious pizza.

Took part in a pizza making workshop today at Il Pakkero. What a great experience! Learnt how to make authentic dough with some excellent instruction from top chef’s and owners Jac and Fran. We came away with our homemade dough and were then given another to make our pizza to eat that day. We watched them being cooked in the wood fire oven, then got to eat our delicious pizzas. Can’t wait to roll my dough at home to make another! Excellent value for money and great for the kids too. I hope they run another!

Delicious pizza! Could not recommend highly enough!

It was nice food, could of used some salt and pepper but didn't see any at the bar. There is a very good selection to choose from and very accomodating staff.

Our first visit to Pakkero at the Coachworks in Ashford. Friendly, family run pizzaria. Pizza freshly made to order and cooked in outdoor pizza oven. cheese and roasted veg for me ( so much topping!) 4 cheese for hubby. Other street food vendors there too. Coachworks has a licensed bar, an entertainment schedule comedy etc and party space. Worth a look. Car park near by not far from station. Thanks for a great meal!

Original Italian pizza - not the English customised one!

Vodka Pasta was very nice, but mushroom risotto was very bland.

Totally wonderful street food. Sadly no photos because I was hungry and it tasted so good. Freshly cooked, Arancini balls and a Piadina which I’d you don’t know is an Italian wrap that is stuffed with grilled veg and fab cheese or any filling you like meat etc. We had smoked mozzarella with our veg and it was sublime. The best fresh cooked tasty food in Folkstone.

Wow!! We lunched here today and I can honestly say this was the most delicious pizza I have ever tasted in my entire life. The base....was absolute heaven, you could tell a lot of love went into it, made with loving Italian hands! Local to the station, we lunched as a work do, we were very well catered for, and nothing was too much trouble, very friendly staff and a buzzing atmosphere too, we can't wait to come back.

Another delicious pizza. Stopped here after a trip to London and the food is just lovely. We shared a Margarita pizza and some Arancini balls..these were heavenly!

Amazing il Pakkero pizza, baked in wood fire is a must try. Garlic focaccia is thin, crunchy and yummy! Great atmosphere and welcoming people!

Brilliant good, friendly staff and great setting!

We visited Il Pakkero out of blue as we walk back to the train station to catch our train. Service was a first class and food was supreme. I can’t speak highly enough about the hospitality we received and the very quality of the food. We all enjoyed our pizzas and we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a real Italian taste pizza! Thank you and next time we’ll come to Ashford we will definitely visit again!

The pizza is delicious! So fresh and the most authentic italian pizza I have had around, its always so tasty and the sides compliment the pizza well. The owners are so passionate about what they do its definetly made with love. Cant wait to come again on the weekend and have a catch up with them!

Amazing Pizza, a real taste of Rome. The Ariccia is definitely my favourite, with yummy porchetta and crispy potatoes 🤤. Friendly staff and great quality products! Highly recommended 💪

Best pizza! Fresh and so tasty!

Ordered last week used to order from here regularly but don’t think we will be again quality has just dropped unfortunately.. fried items (chips and veg tempura) tasted like they were fried in cold oil so they were soggy and greasy and also tasted like the oil hadn’t been changed a lot with black bits on the food. Pizza had far too much sauce on that we couldn’t eat it all. Disappointing as it used to be soo good!

Had the most delicious Italian pizzas at 11 Pakkero, friendly Italian couple that make a selection of pizzas, definitely worth visiting. My family had Vegan and meat pizzas that we all enjoyed. The atmosphere was wonderful set in a courtyard with parking conveniently across the road from it.

I love this place. It's just what Ashford needed. The food is delicious and they cater for vegans and do gluten free bases on the pizzas. The tiramisu was particularly good. Service was also excellent.

So last night we bought our first ever pizzas from il pakkero and it certainly won't be out last! I was fortunate enough to have lunch last Sunday at Il Pakkero. What a find, it's a gem of a restaurant with authentic, quality Italian ingredients. Wow did it show. I'm not usually a big pizza fan unless of course I'm in Italy as I love the way they do it. I can honestly say it was one of the best pizzas i've had and would highly recommend. It was also lovely to meet the owners, both Italian and their two lovely girls. It's wonderful to be able to support a family run, independent business in Ashford. I can't wait to visit again soon. Never been a fan of Thin crust pizza, but tried pizza here whilst getting sorted to host Quiz night and I was blown away. Greatest pizza . Highly recommend to all

Authentic Italian pizza in Ashford! Yay! Both my husband and I love pizza. We first tried the pizza last week at Coachworks where Il Pakkero is based, and we absolutely loved it. The pizza was extremely tasty and we also had some other street food, including mozzarella balls, aubergine balls and stuffed olives. Oh boy, were they delicious!!! We loved it so much that this weekend we treated ourselves again to a pizza and dessert, this time the pistachio tiramisu, which was divine. Can highly recommend Il Pakkero. Since this review we have been returning to Il Pakkero for more lovely food. The food of a very high quality and always served with a lovely smile :) What a gem in Ashford!

Such a lovely place! I couldn't resist jumping on the train to go and try their porchetta, and I was not disappointed. Just like being back in Italy! I don't think I have better words other than go try it yourself. I'll definitely be back to try everything else on the menu 😃

Had three different pizza's, Diavolo, four cheeses and vegetarian, plus garlic bread. Freshly cooked in the pizza oven whilst we waited and the wait was well worth it. Delicious. Will certainly be back again and again......Highly recommend.

Unreal food and top quality service, definately recommend! The food was unbelievable and was one of the best if not THE BEST unknown little food venue to eat it!

Visited as was recommended by a friend. Greeted warmly by the owners and made to feel welcome. We all enjoyed our food, I went for the Ortolana (veggie) pizza which was tasty, the missus had a sauage/broccoli roll which she thoroughly enjoyed. The girls were more than content with the Nutella pizzas! Very good value and well worth the visit. We'll be back soon.
