We really enjoyed our Dinner. It was during the week with three choices to start and for the main course. Beautifully cooked using fresh and local fare.

A charming hotel & a even more charming dining room. A short menu- means that you are more likely to get fresh food & it certainly was. Fresh, simple & tasty- what more could you want. Organic wine. Not over-priced.

The trattoria is run by Marco the owner of the hotel. But if he does not feel like cooking, it is non-existent. We had some risotto al funghi. Not very goog cooked, and two mushrooms were on the plate. Rather visit the pub 1,5 km up the road.

No nos decepcionó. . .

Excellent Host and Excellent House. We both visited Tredethy House for 3 nights over the Easter Weekend. Marco welcomed us both on arrival and showed us to our fantastic room with stunning views of Bodmin Moor from our window. We stayed and enjoyed a three course meal on the first night which was cooked and presented lovely. The continental breakfast was presented nicely with lots of choice of food. Overall the stay was fantastic and value for money. We will definitely return to Tredethy House next time we are in the area.

Our Saturday evening was finished off with a taste of Italy in the Trattoria at Tredethy. Fresh bread with olives and bresaola was a tasty start and we both loved the fresh pasta. A bottle of Nero d'avola and Italian ice cream finished the meal beautifully.

Small party of 7 for an evening meal, which was delicious. All food was prepared fresh and was very more-ish! Lovely, comfortable surroundings including an open fireplace in the dining area.

The restaurant was closed for the winter, but the owner (Marco) offered us a pasta meal that we couldn't refuse. He cooked sea bass ravioli. I have never had fish in pasta, but this was a superb dish. He started us of we bresaola and concluded with cheesecake. There was a lovely wood fire roaring in the background. A very unique and special experience - Loved it.

We were staying in this lovely hotel, decided to have dinner that night, and while the choice was limited, and quantities not huge, it was absolutely delicious, and very good value. And the hosts are charming and friendly .. thank you !

Having selected this place via the internet, on our arrival we found it to be a large rambling house in very pleasant grounds. Whether it was end of season and most of the tourist had gone, we found it empty and lacking atmosphere, the room was standard but clean and we were only sleeping there, breakfast was continental which was fine but you had to order the night before if you wanted a full english breakfast, which wasn't explained to us on our arrival. The house appeared to have no or very little heating on in the main parts of the building either, so didn't make you want to spend any time relaxing in the lounges. But I guess in the height of summer and more guests it might have been a different story.

Marco and Christina can cook in true Italian/Sicilian fashion, to not enjoy it would be sacrilege! Homemade pasta, gnocchi with pesto... Need l say more to get the juices flowing? Try for yourselves and be in the bosom of people who enjoy all they do.

We travelled from Truro to the Trattoria at Tredethy House for a meal because we love simple, authentic Italian food. The setting is lovely, the ambience relaxed and casual and the food delicious. Next time I think we will make a night of it and book a meal and a room so that we can share a bottle of wine.

Tattoria - Tredethy House in house restaurant. Fabulous food. Organic and fresh. A delight to book in for. We stayed at Tredethy house for the most fabulous holiday bresk, given more time we would of stayed alot longer! The restaurant is open on Friday and Saturday evenings so we booked in for Friday. The menu is beautiful - Full Italian with English translation if any doubt! Our food was freshly prepared with the finest ingredients and the pasta freshly made by hand stuffed with spinach and cheese, flavoursome. The other dish my partner chose was with pumkin and was drizzled with sage butter - so delicious. Deserts - strawberries, honey and clotted cream and the other figs italian cheese peaches and honey. Sublime! We enjoyed this so much, a true taste of Italy from those in the know! Again we recommend going there as open to outside bookings. A treat of Italian spice. Served by kind a courteous, informative people. Thankyou.

I find salad boring, so was not prepared for the taste experience of my first course of Insalata di Pomodoro, but these multi colured jewels were delicious! We enjoyed a truly tasty, simply cooked meal, evidently created with real love. A small menu often boasts carefully chosen and well cooked ingedients. This small menu broadcasts that message loudly!

A taste of old Scicily in the heart of old Cornwall. A real Italian family ambiance. The taste tells you that this is very freshest of locally sourced produce cooked with the love & attention that can only come from a chef dedicated to pleasing friends and family. Mama must be somewhere (if not in person) in that kitchen. Fantastico!

My partner and I visited the Trattoria on the final night of a week's stay in the area and were treated to some of the best home cooked Italian food we've ever had. At £22 for three courses excluding drinks this seemed like incredible value. The restaurant is only open two nights a week at present and is contained within the fabulous setting of Tredethy House - a lovely Baroque/Georgian country mansion (which apparently was home to Prince Chula Chakrabongse of Siam in the 1930s and 1940s) set in several acres of rambling grounds near St Mabyn. The current owners run the place as a sort of boutique country hotel and double as chefs on the nights the restaurant is open. The dining room is very small and as a result has an atmosphere more of being a guest in someone's home than a restaurant. The food was vegetarian but even as a dyed-in-the-wool carnivore I really didn't miss the meat! The menu consisted of two choices per course - I had local asparagus with quail's eggs followed by home made ravioli stuffed with artichoke hearts and pecorino, and finished with pannacotta in strawberry coulis. Unlike the unfortunate experience of the other reviewer I read on this website, I found the host Marco to be charming and he took time to chat to us and show us round the house (which he is obviously quite passionate about) after we had eaten. I thoroughly recommend it as a most enjoyable and quite unique dining experience.

This looks the part and is in a lovely area beacuse I live near....however the owner is so rude it is almost impossibe to put into words.Basically they had booked in too many people, they are greedy and thus the quality of the service and food is just not up to the money you pay.I complained that a.Part of the actual recipe was missing- he agreedb. The new potatoes where like rocks- he agreedc. He had booked in too many people- he agreedThen he said... yes you will not belive it .."I do not care "I thus refused to pay for my dish but agreed to pay the rest of my £40.00 per head bill for my family. He is not a nice person and once he realised I was local he started to try and be professional- however if you are reading this Mr Owner it was tool late...DO NOT EAT HERE.

A place with amazing food and a great atmosphere. Eating outside in the garden gave it the vacation feel. We could have been in the Caribbean or Med. There was a good variation on the menu but not too much (Fish, Pizza, Salad & Steak). Our waitress was nice, friendly and attentive. Although it was Cowes week and its in the middle of Cowes it was reasonably priced.

This is a great restaurant tucked away on Wendron Street (best booking) as is open 6.30pm to 8.30pm. My wife, 12 year old son and I went again this summer. The waitress is very friendly, will go through the menu and recommend dishes and the atmosphere is authentic. The menu is full of original dishes - pastas, pizzas, seafood and chicken etc. Would thoroughly recommend Giuseppes - the food is delicious and you dont wait long.
