Tralee bay Fish and Chips in Argyll & Bute

We are staying at Highfield Holidays. We have just eaten your Tralee Bay Fish n Chips. My husband, Geoff, picked them up. They were absolutely delicious. The best I’ve tasted for a long time. I normally leave some batter but I ate every morsel. The fish were so fresh. Thank you.

Lovely fish and chips, had the large, generous portions very tasty lots of nice chips, phoned through and it was ready in 10 mins to collect we were only a few minutes at Seaview Campsite, really friendly staff, my husband went with the dog to pick up and the dog even got a treat ti cone home with

We visited whilst staying at nearby Highfield holidays. Fish suppers cooked to order, beautifully fresh and big portions. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

First time trying here. Amazing fish and scampi & chips whilst staying at Tralee Bay Holiday Park. Great portion sizes and reasonable prices too. Really tasty and fresh and handy having something of such good quality on the park site. Will definitely be visiting again, next time we stay here.

We had a fish supper and a black pudding supper from Tralee last weekend…they were both delicious and with generous portions. So handy not having to travel into Oban…highly recommend! ⭐️

We have eaten here numerous times over the years and always been outstanding…unfortunately last nights fish & chips were not good - in fact I left half of mine which is unusual! Don’t know what issue was, chips all soft, not crispy at all and tasted most sweet & fish tasted like had been frozen. As I said in previous visits been first class however don’t know what issue was last night? If I hadn’t been looking after my Granddaughter I would have taken them back.

We were staying at Tralee Bay Holiday Park and ate here twice during our stay! We had fish suppers, which were reasonably priced for the area and were more than worth the money! The fish was beautiful, all food was extremely fresh and the portions were big. The staff were also very friendly! Would definitely return here. Very worth the money.

Very expensive £15 for large fish and chips and £10 for medium , fish was nice but chips awful would not go back service was go though

Initially you call up to pre order, the staff seem flustered and tell you you need to wait an hour for a fish supper, I know it’s busy and cooked to order etc but still.…..and then tell you it will be the most expensive fish supper in the land…… However….. it was excellent And a large fish and chips will feed two people, it’s huge So 4 out of 5

We ate here twice during our stay in Oban, the first night was by far the best fish and chips we’ve had in a long time and couldn’t wait to come back. Unfortunately our second visit was not as good as the first, average, for the fish and the chips, not sure why, but would still recommend

Outdoor seating with a great view. Fish was fresh (as you'd expect from a place so close to the sea) and cooked to order. Batter was nice and not soggy like you get from some places. Would definitely go back, shame we live so far away from it or we'd be there every week!

Great fish and chips, from fresh fish and prepared to order. As it says on its website, it's a good idea to preorder. We got there in the evening and luckily they had enough fish left! Also, it's cash only.

Stumbled across this and was so pleased we did. Excellent service, excellent food. Yes the fresh food everything's made to order so pipping hot and so delicious.

We got a meal from here as we were staying at the caravan park. We called earlier in the day to order our meal as we heard it was so popular. Very cheery guy on counter and our meal was ready and waiting. We had scampi, fish and chicken nuggets between us. Also had a side of curry sauce and the home made tartare sauce. The quality was outstanding!! All of us loved our meal and would return. Probably the best scampi Ive ever tasted. Cash only so if you plan on having the best chippy of your life get to a cash machine!!

The food here never fails, we have been coming over here from Aberdeen for years now and the food has always been amazing. Last night I had scampi and my other half fish and chips, the portions were huge, hot and tasty. If your in the area it's a must to go here. Friendly, down to earth owners who work extremely hard. Definitely the best fish and chips we have ever had. The chicken nuggets and scampi were also amazing, would highly recommend! Definitely worth the trip!

Just finished the most amazing black pudding supper. No wonder this place wins awards. Chips were chunky and crisp. Pudding was also chunky and beautifully tasty and the batter crisp. My wife had a battered sausage supper that was equally great.

What can I say, it was the best fish and chips I have ever eaten, it was cooked to perfection, the batter on the fish was so light and not greasy at all. Will definitely be back!

Después de prometernos a nosotros mismos que tendríamos un capricho e iríamos aquí varios meses después de estar encerrados, nos aventuramos al famoso chippy.El pescado y las patatas fritas estaban bien, pero estaban tibios y la masa de pescado un poco pasada, así que estaba un poco destripado. Todo sabía bien y el servicio era bueno, así que creo que tal vez los probaríamos de nuevo en caso de que fuera una excepción.

Would 100% agree with the reviews which say this is the best fish and chip shop they have been to. Chips were incredible!

Love using our local chippy, never a bad meal, the fish suppers are the best, amazing pizzas and great staff🌟 Since covid they have had always followed strict guidelines and protocols, very clean and it's great being able to pre order meals in advance.

Fui a Oban por un día y mi primo que vive allí nos contó sobre el pescado y papas fritas de Tralee, así que llamamos con anticipación y reservamos debido al Covid y no nos decepcionó. La cena estaba recién salida cuando llegamos y nos proporcionaron los condimentos que pedimos y tenedor y cuchillo. Condujimos hasta la cabecera del lago Creran, qué mejor vista que sentarse al lado de un lago con colinas a tu alrededor y pagar una fortuna en algunos lugares por esto. Definitivamente volvere

De vuelta en la costa oeste de Escocia en la caravana, después del encierro. Tuve que visitar un fantástico chippy en Benderloch, Tralee caravan park. He sido cliente aquí durante algunas temporadas. Mejor pescado y patatas fritas. Y para mi sorpresa ahora están haciendo PIZZAS wow. Bien merece una visita. Y una buena selección. Por razones de covid y seguridad, tuve que reservar un horario para recoger mi comida. Al igual que un reloj, no hay problema. Bien hecho, nos vemos pronto.

Fue una experiencia maravillosa ~ el pescado y las patatas fritas fueron los mejores que he tenido. De hecho, nuestra amiga gastronómica (y gran cocinera) Tanya se comió cada bocado para recibir excelentes críticas sin devolver nada, lo cual es un respaldo importante.

We absolutely love Tralee Bay Fish and Chips. We live in Oban and drive out of Oban especially for our Tralee Bay fix!! The quality of the food is always fantastic and Paul and his team always go the extra mile to ensure that we are never disappointed! Keep doing exactly what you are doing because it's a winning formula!

We visit the beautiful Tralee Bay twice a year and have done for 6 years now. We love it. Such a peaceful, tranquil place. The lodges are fantastic and we are always well looked after.We never miss a "chip" night as the quality of the food is always worth the wait, albeit the large fish is medium and it's expensive. It tastes fantastic so worth it.I'm sorry to say, on our last visit, it was very different. (Aug 19)On this trip we were accompanied by friends from America, who couldn't wait to sample our traditional fish and chips. How embarrassed we were.I won't go on about how bad the chips were, all I will say is they were obviously reheated from the day before. There is no other explanation as to why we could hardly chew them - that's how bad they were.We will return to Tralee in May 20, we will buy the delicious fish, but, we will make our own chips.Disappointing, for an award winning chippy, we expected better.The reason we didn't complain, got soaked picking them up and didn't want to venture back out in our beautiful rain.Looking forward to returning in May 20 and better chips.

Only open Wednesday to Saturday, the food is always freshly cooked and really tasty. Best takeaway by far.

The quality of our order: fish & chips and scampi & chips (with homemade tartar sauce) was excellent. A 20 min wait confirmed everything was cooked fresh to order and it was well worth waiting. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and our dog had access to a water bowl and was give a wee treat too! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone near by, as it's definitely some of the best fish and chips we've had!

We visited on Friday night, we had a Scampi supper and a Fish supper. Both were excellent and the tartare sauce was so good we popped back to take some home with us! Staff were very friendly and helpful, would highly recommend a visit here. Expect a wait as all meals are cooked to order but it’s well worth it.

I have frequented this little fish and chip shop for a number of years. I found the staff to be happy and helpful, The food is delicious and also the choice for a small chippy is great, please note, food is cooked to order, so be prepared to wait a few minutes, you won't be disappointed,.

We were recommend by our site - Highfield Holidays. Quick walk and a fantastic fish and chips! We organised by tickets - great selection! Plenty of outdoor picnic bench seating too so we could eat with the dogs.

We'd been told it was worth a visit but... Wow... We've tried different chip shops around Oban (and the rest of the UK) but this is the best. Great service and a delicious supper. If you're in Oban or the surrounding area, make the short trip out, it'll be worth it.

We stayed at Highfield with my camper guy highly recommended here for our tea very short walk which we done with my cocker puppy staff were superb fish supper was amazing would highly recommend it’s very busy but efficient staff and well worth the shortish wait we will return

We got back to tralee bay holiday park . The smell of the fish and chips and wife said it was a dinner sort then . The dinners was great. It is cooked to order so they was a small queue.

I visited tralee bay chippy on a sunny August evening. We brough a bottle of wine and glasses with us as we heard there can be a wait.

I honestly can’t tell you how good these fish and chips are....we travel every year 260 miles from Yorkshire and have to say they are far beyond the quality we get back home, the service, staff and quality are beyond expectations and I would highly recommend the fish supper to anyone, perfect fresh fish and super tasty!

We found this on Google and it was close to the Hotel we stayed in. Needed a change of resturant food and wanted some good old Fish & Chips. Did not disappoint us. Worth a visit but check the short opening hours which my change in the summer months.

We loved the fish and chips. Made to order. Very fresh fish. We paid £8 for the medium fish supper and that was a big serving. Well worth it.

Amazing food, both the fish and chips are top quality. It is a bit more expensive than some of the other chip shops in the area, but is very convenient for holiday-goers in the immediate area. Watch the opening times though as they aren't around all week.

Great wee spot to stop. All cooked to order Lovely and fresh fish. Pickled onions were a bit soft but can forgive that as they were the last 2 in the jar and the new jar ones were crisp.

The haddock was perfect in a delicious batter. The chips were yummy. Portions were generous. I wish we lived closer.

Best fish and chips. Huge portions. Friendly staff. It was busy when we arrived so had to wait about 25 minutes. But it was worth the wait. You can sit at tables outside. We had a dog with us and he was welcomed

We've been here before and knew the fish suppers were lovely. We made a large order for a group of us on a Friday evening and they handed it really well and made it all really quickly.

Been coming here for a couple of years now and will always keep going back. Best wee find in the local area yet. Good food lots of choice and friendly staff that are very accommodating.Nice seated area outside to sit with the family and enjoy. Would like to recommend one thing but that would be a tricky choice as it's all fab. Will be visiting again in a couple of weeks.

My family and I (6 of us in total) were staying on the park for the weekend. We've visited previously as a smaller group with good results. Our order was taken quickly and even though it was a big order they turned it around very quicky despite there being a steady stream of customers there. Their suppers are top quality, really tasty, great portion sizes. well priced with plenty of variety and the guys working were cheerful and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

Waited a while but everything was freshly cooked to order. Fish was lovely. Chips were good too. Battered mushrooms were my favourite. The macaroni cheese bites were okay wouldn't order them again, felt the coating on the outside was too thick.

Lovely little fish and chip van in the Holiday Park. Very busy little place but everything is cooked to order so it is very very tasty! Have a wee game of putt putt while you wait.

This is a wonderful American style caravan where fresh food is cooked for you as you wait. The staff are helpful and friendly and they do the best fish and chips on the West Coast.

Reading some of the reviews I'm not sure what some people expect but in our opinion this is a quality chippie with fresh fish ALL cooked to order and the best chips I've had from a chippie in years, I scoffed the lot of a large serving which is unusual for me. We'll definitely be back when next in the area in our caravan. Thanks all for great food, music while we waited on it frying and for the blether about white puddings!

Tried this place last Wednesday and oh my goodness definitely the best fish and chips in the area , the staff are lovely even had chews for dogs waiting lol . They make everything but their tartare sauce is just the best !! If in the area give it a try it’s so good we went back again the next night and we were definitely not let down with our choices !! The smoked haddock and mozzarella fish cakes were so yummy and their battered mushrooms are amazing just wish they had a place down in Ayrshire lol .

I have visited Oban on numerous occasions and always go out of my way to visit Tralee Fish and Chips. The food is excellent, fresh and cooked to order, the portions are very generous and the choice is excellent. The staff are always happy and friendly and eager to help.
