Traffers Bar in Rother

I worked here years and years ago. It hasn't changed much, quirky, quant, and a cosy local, with a good selection of beers.

It was the first time I'd been to The Ruddy Duck for Sunday lunch. Absolutely gorgeous meal, really delicious.

Really nice friendly bar, near the seafront and museum...Apparently it has new owners now. Therefore, they are testing the water it seems ? Its also known as the Ruddy Duck....No food as yet, but the lady behind the bar said they will in the future. Good range of real ales, and the regular usual drinks at a reasonable rate. I wish them well .

Fantastic meal again here! We would usually go for the roast (which is always delicious) but decided on liver, bacon and onions and Mediterranean tart both served with mash and piping hot fresh vegetables. The homemade tomato and basil soup was very tasty, definitely having that again! Always made to feel welcome, service is impeccable, never disappointed and our dog is welcome too! The pub is in a great location opposite Egerton Park so we can fill up on fantastic food and then walk it off over in the park 😀 If you want classic pub food at a reasonable price, here is the place to come!

Lovely old fashioned pub , good beer on tap

Very cool vibe but food left a lot to be desired. Time between order and service was close to an hour. Original entree was wrong and it was another 10 minutes until corrected item arrived. Upon receiving the bill, we were charged an incremental $30 for an item we did not order. While the atmosphere is good, I’d recommend eating elsewhere first.

Nice little watering hole, the layout is a bit weird and the men's toilet is pretty poor but for a flying visit it's o.k.

This is such a great place that I almost considered keeping it to myself! Fabulous beer and ale options. Brilliant customer service and the atmosphere is fantastic. Last of the true real pubs around here. Couldn't rate it any higher. Such a gem!

A little gem tucked away near Egerton Park- real old fashioned pub, that does it all. Fantastic landlord that really looks after you. If you like well kept Ales, or real continental lager, you are going to like this place👍 Always has Harvey’s on, which so many others don’t. This week, Harvey’s Old as well😋

Friendly tapas was excellent my husband had chicken burger he rates this excellent every time we go.

Pleasant, reasonable range of beers. Harvey's Besr Bitter good. Cheerful, friendly landlord.

Miserable, unfriendly landlord that feels disgruntled serving you when he can read his paper. Just a 'yes'. Outside space is just as miserable. Won't be going back

Great little local pub. I had liver, bacon, mash and onion gravy washed down with a pint of Harveys. All tasty and good value.

What a find. A great back street boozer which was, warm, welcoming, including our dog. Food was classic pub fair and excellent value. We went back minus the dog the next night and were welcomed like locals. The beer was good and there was a great gin selection too! If I lived in Bexhill it would be a regular haunt!!

Great food (Best roster potato in town)

Go there for our monthly cycling group meeting. Usually have a beer upstairs.

An independent family run bar. Friendly and comfortable. Good range of local real ales. very good food at reasonable prices. I arranged a buffet here for an 80th birthday. We were looked after very well. Food was excellent.

Me and a friend wanted to use the toilet and was going to buy a drink after but was told by staff that we had to leave and said 'we're probably underage anyway'. We were happy to show ID but the stuff kicked us out anyway!
