Yes - 5 stars all round! We've always loved this place for their fabulous coffee and toasties, and their wonderful, wonderful staff. Today we had our first breakfast there and it was superb. As good - no - better than higher-end places we've been to recently. It might be a chain, but it doesn't feel like it.

Filthy sticky tables, Waiting 101 when customers leave; clean the tables means CLEAN the tables, staff was kind to clean it thank you, couldn't rest my hands or place my phone or book anywhere near the table until then, but expensive if you like Oat milk. 16 minute wait, nice coffee decent sized china cups. NO WIFI 😔 Crane out the window to get Starbucks WiFi.

The food here is lovely, the atmosphere is amazing, they have 3 levels including a roof terrace spot as well. I had the bacon and maple pancakes, they were amazing and definitely worth their pricing, which is also quite fair.I did not have the coffee but the cups do look quite unique and I heard no complaints :) Definitely would come back again, when I next visit Brighton. 5 stars - Blake

The drinks are hot barely lukewarm (it’s an ongoing problem), the matcha is bland (put a decent amount of matcha powder, please!), they never name the drinks when they bring them to you (one needs to know if they bring you dairy-free or not) and they tell you to leave the upstairs room 15 minutes before you need to (maybe I just sat there!).

Poor value. Poached eggs on toast and I added avocado and halloumi. Only one egg. ‘Roasted tomatoes off the vine’ are in fact cold cherry tomatoes. For the best part of £15. Scrambled eggs with the full English was so small, I can well imagine that only one egg was cooked. Again, poor value for £14. Coffee was nicely done though.

The fry up was nice, but it is expensive for how much you get, the wait, and only arrived lukewarm. This is a very busy cafe in the heart of the vibrant North Laine in Brighton. This meant that most things felt a bit off for our visit because of how busy it was. It fell below the standard we have seen at other Trading Post Coffee Roaster sites. If you like the company, perhaps check how busy it is before going here or check other venues. On a sunny day it was mobbed and staff looked overwhelmed. There were wrong orders and staff generally didn't know where they were taking food and coffee to. There is a sun terrace here, but service for brunch was slow and the food arrived lukewarm. The terrace is overlooked by hungry seagulls and was a paradise for wasps. Tables were not cleared and dishes and mugs were stacked up. Realistically, I don't think they should open the terrace if it has such an impact on the quality of service provided. I will probably avoid this cafe for brunch, and only do a takeaway coffee or cake. I will stick with Trading Post's other sites in future.

We hosted an evening event at Trading Post and we had a great experience from start to finish. The event planning team made sure everything went smoothly, including some last minute changes to our food and beverage order. We had a selection of hot and cold canapes, all of which tasted amazing. The front of house team, headed up by Oli, were fantastic on the night and made sure we all had a great time. We would definitely recommend this venue for a private party!

I was extremely disappointed with both the service and the food, so I felt the need to share my experience. Cost: We spent around £67 for one sausage sandwich, one bacon sandwich, a bowl of bean chili, eggs Benedict, and four drinks. Food: The quality of the food was a major letdown. The sandwiches were served plain, with just meat and bread, lacking any sides or garnishes. The bean chili was so spicy that it was almost inedible. Service: We waited nearly 55 minutes for our food, without any prior notice of the long wait times when we placed our order. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place for either food or coffee.

We stopped here for a croque monsieur. Deciding to share one between two was wise. The croque was splendid. A lovely bechamel sauce drew the mouth back for more outings. The allure of zingy Dijon mustard hung in the background without betraying its role. The brioche bread worked well at containing all of the ingredients. Generous helpings of ham were tucked away in between the triple-layered slices. A mighty fine croque.

After remote working since lockdown this was a brilliant place to get together for our works Christmas Party. We were greeted with bubbles and spent the next few hours enjoying time with colleagues we hadn't seen in person for such a long time. No fighting for a place at the bar or shouting over too loud music, just chatting, laughing, dancing and eating in our own private space - it is a perfect venue if this is what you want. The food offering and the service was excellent, so much so that we will be booking our next party there very soon!

I genuinely hate leaving bad reviews but had such a bad experience today. We came out of our way to come to this coffee shop today as previously had a good coffee (we’re visiting from Oxford). Queued for 20 minutes at the counter to order to be met by the rudest female server- made no eye contact, rolled her eyes at me throughout the order, cut me off when ordering, no acknowledgment for the 20 minute wait, told me I couldn’t order waffles with syrup even though clearly on the menu- when I asked her if I was putting her out (as this is how she left me feeling) she literally shouted at me for being rude. Spent £50 on food and drink. At no point was I told by the rude member of staff that there was a wait on food. Took 30 minutes for our coffees to arrive. 45 minutes later we were still waiting for our food. Ended up having to ask for a refund as we had plans to get to. I get it was New Year’s Day, busy etc but absolutely no need for rudeness. (Relevant to the cafe on ship stree)

However the service was pretty poor in this one, when we ordered the server wasn't very friendly and seemed in a mood :( didnt make us feel welcome at all. and when we left I smiled at her but she just glared at me. Been passed this place loads of time, always thought about popping in but it’s always been busy. Popped in today whilst passing as it didn’t seem too bad, wish we hadn’t bothered. Long wait for food, about 45 minutes to an hour, wasn’t mentioned whilst ordering. Whilst waiting one table gave up and got a refund, several other people enquiring where their food was or enquiring about missing items. Very disorganised. We ordered the bacon & maple with scrambled eggs which came zero maple on it. The eggs were nice but that’s about it. Didn’t bother mentioning it as we’d waited long enough for it. Definitely won’t be back.

Chaos! While the decor is good the restaurant is overcrowded and the seating arrangements make this worse. I had to ask where our food was and the waitress went to check. Clearly we had been forgotten and our food would be another “5” minutes. Twenty five minutes from ordering to the food coming to the table. It was nice to see, though, that our waitress managed to have their lunch at one of the tables while we waited. The food was good though when it eventually arrived. Finally, the 80s music is good but much too loud. Overall, if you like a loud and overcrowded environment and have plenty of time on your hands this is the place for you.

Based on our experience today I can only recommend to avoid this place. Totally disorganised team with some nonchalant waiters who don't care about customer service. Failed to mention at the counter that kitchen food could be up to 45 minutes when we ordered, so we waited a lot (more than 45 minutes), for a croque monsieur and veggie breakfast, wondering if they'd forgotten. Our friends were done with their sandwiches by the time we got our food, and they had to wait for us to finish. The food was good taste-wise, although some of my partner's smashed avo was frozen. My chai latte was nothing special. Other details we didn't like: the 'clean' cutlery on our table was dirty. There was a dozen abandoned gallons of milk on the counter upstairs, which on a hot day I feel is not a good place to keep them.

Visited the Kensington Gardens branch in February. We had lovely Jackfruit sandwiches and pastries - will always recommend! Admittedly I hadn't been to a trading post in a while, so upon order I showed my loyalty card expecting a stamp during the purchase. However, I was told that they now operate an app system. I asked if these physical stamps - I have 7 on the card, can be transferred to the app and/or the purchase I was making as I did not have an app account as I was unaware at that point. I was told, no this is not something that they are able to do in store. I emailed the office on the 19th February to see if they could offer a solution. As of yet I have not received a response which is why I am giving a 4 instead of a 5.

The interns were really nice, colourful and cosy, there were tables with chirs all of differernt styles and some armachirs where you can seat and take your time with a nice cup of tea or coffee. The atmosphere was really relaxing and I enjoyed my stay there. I went to the counter to order my food. I took a look at the menu and I've decided to try the red lentils and vegetable curry with rice and naan. It was really tasty! Fter lunch I've tooka flat white and a piece of brownie. I was really difficult to resist the temptation of trying on! They have really nice cakes and all of them look super tasty!

Nice place on the beach, The food was very tasty, it took a bit longer than expected to receive our order but the sun was out and the coffee was good

Went for a Birthday meet up. Rude arrogant staff who are more interested in flirting with coke heads at the bar. Used to be a good place to go. Try the druids up the road. Same drinks available and the pool table isn't covered in Beer.

Coffee is good, smooth and in reasonable price. The location is good, in the lanes in Brighton, across the road from The Ivy Asia and TK Maxx. 3 minutes walk from Church Square shopping centre. It was very busy on Sunday afternoon, we have to wait 15 minutes for our coffee. The Cinnamon cake is a little bit dry.
