A great coffee at a rooftop bar, soaking in the last sunrays of the day. Impossible to not give this 5 stars. This place is a lovely chaos of people squishing in for a seat, staff not finding the people who ordered and pigeons sneaking in for some forgotten crumbs. Truely Brighton.

What an amazing find. Visiting family and dropped in here for brunch. Food was absolutely brilliant ! Coffee was as good, if not better than the commercial coffee shops (speciality roast). Although I'm not vegan I had the granola and chose coconut yoghurt. Was beautiful. The 4 of us all chose different food, and every single one of us thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Staff were chatty and couldn't do enough for us. Thank you for great food and a great experience. Compliments to Zteph - 👨‍🍳 Looking forward to next time already. Would highly recommend. Linda

After remote working since lockdown this was a brilliant place to get together for our works Christmas Party. We were greeted with bubbles and spent the next few hours enjoying time with colleagues we hadn't seen in person for such a long time. No fighting for a place at the bar or shouting over too loud music, just chatting, laughing, dancing and eating in our own private space - it is a perfect venue if this is what you want. The food offering and the service was excellent, so much so that we will be booking our next party there very soon!

I genuinely hate leaving bad reviews but had such a bad experience today. We came out of our way to come to this coffee shop today as previously had a good coffee (we’re visiting from Oxford). Queued for 20 minutes at the counter to order to be met by the rudest female server- made no eye contact, rolled her eyes at me throughout the order, cut me off when ordering, no acknowledgment for the 20 minute wait, told me I couldn’t order waffles with syrup even though clearly on the menu- when I asked her if I was putting her out (as this is how she left me feeling) she literally shouted at me for being rude. Spent £50 on food and drink. At no point was I told by the rude member of staff that there was a wait on food. Took 30 minutes for our coffees to arrive. 45 minutes later we were still waiting for our food. Ended up having to ask for a refund as we had plans to get to. I get it was New Year’s Day, busy etc but absolutely no need for rudeness. (Relevant to the cafe on ship stree)

Have been to the Trading Post in Lewes, and as expected - really nice food, and drinks, nice atmosphere, feels cosy! However the service was pretty poor in this one, when we ordered the server wasn't very friendly and seemed in a mood :( didnt make us feel welcome at all. and when we left I smiled at her but she just glared at me. It was especially disappointing as my mum wanted to treat me and my boyfriend to a nice breakfast but we ended up feeling quite dissatisfied and wishing we had gone somewhere else

Been passed this place loads of time, always thought about popping in but it’s always been busy. Popped in today whilst passing as it didn’t seem too bad, wish we hadn’t bothered. Long wait for food, about 45 minutes to an hour, wasn’t mentioned whilst ordering. Whilst waiting one table gave up and got a refund, several other people enquiring where their food was or enquiring about missing items. Very disorganised. We ordered the bacon & maple with scrambled eggs which came zero maple on it. The eggs were nice but that’s about it. Didn’t bother mentioning it as we’d waited long enough for it. Definitely won’t be back.

Chaos! While the decor is good the restaurant is overcrowded and the seating arrangements make this worse. I had to ask where our food was and the waitress went to check. Clearly we had been forgotten and our food would be another “5” minutes. Twenty five minutes from ordering to the food coming to the table. It was nice to see, though, that our waitress managed to have their lunch at one of the tables while we waited. The food was good though when it eventually arrived. Finally, the 80s music is good but much too loud. Overall, if you like a loud and overcrowded environment and have plenty of time on your hands this is the place for you.

Based on our experience today I can only recommend to avoid this place. Totally disorganised team with some nonchalant waiters who don't care about customer service. Failed to mention at the counter that kitchen food could be up to 45 minutes when we ordered, so we waited a lot (more than 45 minutes), for a croque monsieur and veggie breakfast, wondering if they'd forgotten. Our friends were done with their sandwiches by the time we got our food, and they had to wait for us to finish. The food was good taste-wise, although some of my partner's smashed avo was frozen. My chai latte was nothing special. Other details we didn't like: the 'clean' cutlery on our table was dirty. There was a dozen abandoned gallons of milk on the counter upstairs, which on a hot day I feel is not a good place to keep them.

Visited the Kensington Gardens branch in February. We had lovely Jackfruit sandwiches and pastries - will always recommend! Admittedly I hadn't been to a trading post in a while, so upon order I showed my loyalty card expecting a stamp during the purchase. However, I was told that they now operate an app system. I asked if these physical stamps - I have 7 on the card, can be transferred to the app and/or the purchase I was making as I did not have an app account as I was unaware at that point. I was told, no this is not something that they are able to do in store. I emailed the office on the 19th February to see if they could offer a solution. As of yet I have not received a response which is why I am giving a 4 instead of a 5.

Usually a good coffee here and some vegan choices. We have had a not nice experience yesterday morning. Where we have ordered 2 oat cappucinos and been given dairy milk. I wouldn’t write this review today ( as I have written a nice one a while ago). The only reason I do so is that when I brought coffees downstairs and said they are unfortunately wrong, the girl in hat didn’t apologise but instead she blamed me that that’s what we have ordered. I am ordering plant based milk past 19 years, I have firstly ordered oat latte and then changed it for oat cappuccino same as my partner was having and the girl at the till repeated after us : so 2 oat cappuccinos? 🤷🏼‍♀️. I mean mistake can be done and it’s ok. We are humans but I haven’t ever been blamed that I have ordered wrong, with my dairy intolerance I haven’t had a nice day after. This all situation was saved by lovely girl with long blond hair who came to apologise and offered us a refund. Only this girl knew what is right to do and that made a difference. So I thank her very much and the company should be proud about her working for them.

Most of the staff were helpful and friendly, but one was beyond rude. You need to order downstairs & there was a little misunderstanding about the queue order, she was pretty aggressive in managing it & wouldn't hear an apology 'I don't get paid enough to care about this' told us not to queue for a toilet (there's 2) & to go somewhere else. The staff are really chill and friendly and make a good coffee. Music has a good vibe and toasties are really good.

Very nice and cosy place with friendly staff. When walking by in the day it always looks packed, but myself and a friend visited in the evening where it was much more relaxed. It is great to be able to go out to a coffee shop that stays open late on the weekend instead of a pub. The only issue however, was the music was so loud that we had to move to sit outside- my ears were ringing for a long while after we left. Hoping the next time I visit that it will be less overbearing.

A great brunch with excellent coffee and friendly service. The roof terrace is a treat on a sunny morning.

Came in after I finished the Brighton Marathon and had a booking which they were extremely attentive for. The lovely manager, Charlie, even pre booked another table for us incase we wanted to stay for
