We had so much fun here at the weekend! The cocktails are amazing, the staff are such a laugh and our dog was welcome. They have loads of screens as well so we will be back for the euros

Don’t get me wrong the atmosphere is good but the pub shuts at 12. They stop serving at 11:30. Got to the bar at 11:25 and was refused!!!! This is ridiculous!!! Don’t tell me the bar shuts at 11;30 then send me away at 11:25!!! Honestly disgusted!!! Staff are rude and only care about themselves!!!

We went in the middle of of the day and the pub was quiet but the atmosphere was more of a young person's drinking establishment the choice of beers I found to be very restricted but overall a nice enough place

Perfectly reasonable town centre craft orientated beer and 'tap' room albeit the so called crafts are mainly beers owned by the corporates. Still nice enough place, good tv screens, wish customers could control the latter on their table. Ours went from kids stuff, to NFL which we wanted but then to horse racing

4 of us came for bottomless brunch new years eve and the service was phenomenal from nathan, lovely guy with amazing service, lovely start to the evening and great exit to the year 😀 thank you so much!!!

A place fit for a quick drink but seemed like a local pub where everyone would go to.

Nice place for a few drinks. I've never tried the food but noticed a lot of deliveries came out while I was sitting.

The best place for football, horse racing and general sporting atmosphere. The food is good although the chicken wings are absolutely mind blowing 🤯. I really do enjoy this particular place very much.

What a turn around new staff and a great chef can make. Will be coming back again in the near future. Everyone should try the food here. Thanks to the bar staff Dom and Jade for the great service. Jeni amazing food love definitely this is the only time I will say that women or at least this woman should definitely live in a kitchen. Jeni is responsible for turning the food in this venue from disastrous from our last visit where the chef walked out and the bar staff bless them tried to cook (badly bless them they tried) to absolutely awesome, even stayed for pudding as well. Jeni you are amazing keep doing what you are doing. :-)

Regularly pop in for some great hearty pub food! Good variety of spirits, ales & lager. All round cosy little pub with great quality food & drink. Staff are super friendly too, always up for a chat. Highly recommend.

Took 45 mins for our sub sandwiches to show up. It was not as we ordered, and it was cold. The food took so long to arrive that we didn’t want the hassle of flagging someone down to complain and have to wait even longer for new food

I didn't come in to eat or drink yesterday. I am a support worker and the lady I was supporting needed to use local facilites. She previously told me that she'd asked a local cafe on George Street when she was on her own and they said "no". Your staff were so kind / helpful and understanding and I have said to her that if needed again she should pop in and see you. I just wanted to message and say thank you as not all disabilities are visible regardless of masks in these surreal times

We went in here because it was relatively quiet after last bar. 2 for 1 cocktails too. However a dj started playing quite loudly. One person dancing. Big screens with football matches playing. I'm not sure this bar knows who to attract or what direction it's going in.

Visited on a Saturday for a late lunch. Great service, great food. Both the pizza and fish finger wrap were really nice and well priced. Friendly service too, so all in all, enjoyed visit. Will come back.

It’s a Thursday evening - Wetherspoons across the road is pretty full and we just wanted some cheap but cheerful cocktails for date night. There’s about 5 other people in the whole place. Ordered via their online system almost straight away, two of two same drinks so not complex at all. We waited and waited, and noticed there was no one behind the bar. It became very clear one of the girls chatting with a table (which we concluded was staff off-duty) was meant to be behind the bar. It took over 15 minutes, with no one else in the establishment, to receive two very simple drinks. They tasted weird too, like the lemonade tap needs changing or something. There were also fruit flies around, and having worked in a bar myself, know is easily avoidable by maintaining a clean environment - swiftly took the limes out of my drink from then on. Yeah, it was cheap, but I can tell you the cheerful was completely sapped out of it. I have never been so certain on a one-star review so quickly.

This place is amazing ,fantastic atmosphere, food was out of this world, fish was lovely, it just melted in my mouth ,it was divine..the puddings were plentiful too ,friendly staff very chatty ,warm people ...sat at the window looking out people watching ,people are just amazing in Brighton and Hove, wouldn't live anywhere else .Go check out this pub ,food is the best in George St. Xxwill come back again. 🤩🥤🥃🍺🍺🍽🍴🥄🔪🍰🍰TDMEDIUM xx

Lunch at George Street Tap with my family, friendly staff but a bit pricey for what's served up, portions small for adults meals, ordered salad with my meal instead of peas, lettuce, cucumber and tomato, not really a salad!!!!!would not go back.

Had lunch here today, sat outside in the sun, enjoyed the brilliant location, food was excellent and service first class. Well worth a visit

Our bartender Mikey was an absolute gem who chatted with us, and made us feel like home. Will 100% come back here, plus the drinks were lush.

Food is OK. I had a sharing platter with friends and some of the food was tough or over done (like onion rings or chicken.) It's nice and clean, has tv screens to watch any sports on, and has a good variety of food and drinks.

Mikey and Billy were absolutely lovely when we came in for drinks. Friendly and welcoming especially for a big group us 😄

Went in today with my mate, love the pub and great place to watch football, but the groups of rough down n outs sitting outside shouting and swearing make me think it's some rough regulars club. If it wasn't a great place to watch football I wouldn't return at all.

Went to visit today with my friend before the restrictions are lifted, it as been a little while since my last visit and I can still see the unruly “regulars” outside that deter me from visiting regularly. They are fairly rude and saying quite questionable things to passers by which a big shame as the staff are lovely and the service is always great but the undesirable crowd that sits outside for most of my visits really keeps me away from the place, such a shame as pre COVID it was always a much nicer place to visit.

Great cocktails and two for one.

Returning after 3 years and Covid this bar has survived the pandemic. We lunched and cocktailed lunch. The food wasn't as good as before but still decent. The front of house staff were hard working and really good at the social distancing stuff as well as cocktail making (recommend the zombie) and unobtrusive service. Glad that the bar has survived even though it is now owned by a chain.

Never paid so much for a salad, but was Very pleasantly surprised how delicious it was...

I came in to watch the England game and received fantastic service from all staff. Delicious food and good value drinks. I was served by Charlie, who was very attentive, making our visit extra special. I would recommend this hidden gem in Hove to anybody visiting

Come here bi-weekly with family, always have such a great time especially if Jade is serving, always cracks us up. Would definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for somewhere to eat or drink. Food - Good, Drink Good, Atmosphere - Goooood!

So we arrived at 4:00 on a Sunday (fathers day) after a nice lunch up the road there was 3 of us, we had a nice welcome, it wasn’t busy so was given a table straight away, We ordered 4 cocktails as they were 2 4 1, I left after one drink to drop my shopping home as we decided to spend the evening at the George tap I left my 2 friends there and then I came back about 45 mins later, when I returned my 2 friends were sitting outside with 2 more friends so I joined them and we had a table of 5, we were enjoying ourselves and ordered 6 pitchers and 10 shots between the 5 of us over 4 hours, at 8:15pm Mary the waitress came over and I ordered 1 pint for myself and 4 last shots for the people left on our table before we were gonna head off, Mary said ok and went inside..... after 5 mins she came back outside and said we can’t serve you anything as we have a duty of care to our customers to make sure they can get home safely it’s our policy, I was very shocked and said why, Mary said we had mixed to many drinks, I then asked if I could just have the 1 pint for me and no shots as the others left on the table still had there pitcher and I had no drink and mary said the manager Charlie refused, we were in shock as this had never happened before, for a moment I did wonder if the conversation I had with Charlie earlier was anything to do with it, I asked what time do they shut and he said “10 but normally it’s empty by 9 apart from the drunk staff so we close early depending if anyone’s left”, but I left it and we went over the road for another drink, I went outside from the other pub after about half hour and saw the manager Charlie over the road outside the George tap so I crossed the road and very politely asked for an explanation about why he treated us like that, Charlie’s response was the 2 other people we had on our table are regulars and they only ever drink half pints so all the pitchers and shots must have been drunk by us 3 I said that’s not true, we were sharing the pitchers and cocktails as your staff were aware as they kept bringing us fresh glasses, Charlie then said you have had to many shots at least 4 rounds, I corrected him and said I ordered 1 round of shots and the regular who apparently only drinks half’s ordered the other round of shots and your staff member took his payment, I said to the manager Charlie as a manager you should have come out and spoken to us about your concerns before making a judgment without knowing the facts and save us the embarrassment, after my experience today i was very disappointed and after years of using the George tap I won’t be returning which is a shame, if you want some advice and crucial feedback your manager and staff need to work on there customer approach and not quote a policy but then in the same sentence say but you haven’t been anti social it’s contradicting, confusing and quite offensive as there was no real reason,

Went there today for the first time in more than a year. I used to use it quite a lot. Unfortunately today it was dire! Myself and a friend went there for lunch and a drink. There was no atmosphere at all. The place was near empty while others round and about were packed out. Service was attentive and fine. Drinks ok. We ordered burger dishes to eat and unfortunately they were well below what you may hope for. I'm afraid it's off my list of places to go!

I must say I’ve been to this establishment before with friends and everything was lovely however I had an awful experience on Saturday 31st October. I had precooked a table for lunch just at opening time for 4 people and I exclusively put in the notes that we would be in need of a highchair. Once greeted by the manager who took us to our table which was a high up bar stool table at the front of the entrance, a high social was bought over and my child could not Even reach the table he was so low down, my son was going to be eating too and the staff members looked at us as if we were being over dramatic. We asked this lovely waitress who agreed with us that the table was not suitable whatsoever and said she would ask the front of house to arrange a new table, he came over in a rush and said he couldn’t give us another table as they were all booked up for that time (we were the only people in at the time) and said we would have to look elsewhere. When getting ready to go we saw a group of 3 young males asking if there was a table free for them to have drinks and suddenly they were seated in a nice low table where me, two other adults and a baby could have sat for our lunch. When challenging this the manager simply stated people booked specific table which seemed unlikely as when I booked I was never given that option. It’s the first ever time I’ve ever felt an inconvenience to a bar/restaurant because I had a child and I was just going to eat for maximum and hour and not to drink myself silly. I have never felt more embarrassed. It just seemed like the place didn’t want to accommodate as I was having a meal with my family but they seemed accommodating a few weeks before when I was drinking with my friends.

Great for watching the football as there are plenty of large screens and even some smaller screens within the boothed seating. Good choice of beer and food I tried was pretty decent.

I did not feel comfortable that staff with a mask “exemption” (no problem that stopped them smoking out the front though) provided table service. Food was okay, not great, not terrible. Good interior and location.
