Lovely relaxing Friday lunch at this well run, friendly and efficient cafe. Wide choice menu at affordable prices. Lovely courtyard Garden. Relaxing entertainment with quality guitarist was brilliant. Always worth a regular visit. Family friendly too. Best cafe in Newport.

Saw reviews as “the best breakfast on the Island”. No! Raw mushrooms and tomatoes. Undercooked egg. The worst quality deep fried sausage I have ever eaten. 2 small breakfasts, 2 teas and a water £25.

Really wasn’t impressed with my visit my jacket potato was almost cold and was not impressed by the service and attitude of staff, wouldn’t usually leave a review but was made to feel uncomfortable I will not be returning

Unpretentious, Professional, Perfect. These words encapsulate for me the essence of this wonderful little cafe. The staff were very welcoming and the food and drinks were delicious.

Such a beautiful cafe with the most lovely staff, would definitely recommend coming here if you have the chance, nice outdoor area too

Popped in for a coffee and a toasted teacake, coffee arrived mainly in the saucer! Teacake took nearly half an hour as they said they only had one toaster which was being used for the cooked breakfasts.

As per usual, a lovely Sunday Lunch. In nice clean comfortable surrounds, lovely seculded garden outside. Good value for money meal, lovely cooked and friendly efficient staff. This place is well worth regular visits. Well managed and staff member Wendy is an absolute credit to the place. 😀👍

Lovely meals and a lisensed bar too, so you can have a relaxing drink with your meal inside this lovely clean and tidy cafe or have your meal in their sunny secluded garden. Uns wurde während unseres Urlaubs auf der Isle of Wight empfohlen, dass wir hier mal vorbeischauen sollten. Bei angenehmen 22 Grad genossen wir die tolle Atmosphäre im Hinterhof. Tee & Kaffee haben super geschmeckt, die Bedienungen waren nett und sogar mit ein paar Fetzen Deutsch vorbereitet :) Wir kommen wieder im Mai 2023! :)

This is a really handy cafe, near the town centre and bus station. Busy at lunchtime with regular customers who are greeted warmly by the staff. Tables and chairs are simple, some a little cramped, but all was clean and kept tidy. The menu had a very wide choice from soup up to a full meal, and all the prices were very good and lower than other comparable cafes. I had the bacon, brie & cranberry panini at £4.95 which was delicious and had to be cut in two to fit on the plate! How nice to find a straightforward cafe that doesn’t aspire to be a ‘bistro’. With clean toilets and friendly staff, it’s a little gem.

I am saddened to write this as I used to love town choice a few years back but after visiting today for the first time in a couple of years I was saddened to see the place has gone down hill. The table we sat at had a huge crack line which was fairly wide and deep which was filled with crumbs and dirty . There is no way the table could be cleaned to a hygienic standard with germ trapping cracks on them. On mentioning this to a friend later today they said they had also visited there recently and were really put off by the cracks in some of the tables and the debris wedged in them. This really put me off and concerned me about the level of hygiene behind the scenes if this was what was visible and clearly not being dealt with . . The owners need to seriously replace the damaged tables of get them filed out and resin filled or wood filler to stop dirt and germs .

We found this gem by chance even though we are islanders, great menu at a sensible price, fresh ingredients. Very clean, good lighting and seating arrangements. Friendly, attentive staff. We left and enjoyed our first experience and we will definitely be regular visitors.

Came for lunch with my partner, grabbed a large breakfast! Breakfast wasn't too bad, have had better. Eggs were hard but down to preference, Milkshake was homemade and lovely. Still a nice environment, friendly staff all around. Clean and presentable environment too. Would've like the price to be a tad lower. Would give 3/5 stars :)

Visited a couple of times during March, both times the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Very clean came excellent value for money. We will be back!

Found this lovely little cafe on our visit to Newport. A warm and friendly greeting from the young staff. Coffee and cakes were excellent. Plenty of seating inside and out. Prices were very reasonable, probably half what you would pay in M&S.

Went in here this week & had the double sausage, egg, chips and beans. Food was served in a good timely manner and was very tasty. Both staff members that I met were really friendly and welcoming. Plenty of choice on the menu, so something for everyone. Good prices too - my meal, which was a good filling portion, and a drink came to about £7. Will definitely return here again for another bite to eat

We regularly come here as the coffee is much better value than at other "barista" outlets in Newport. Cakes and pastries are also excellent, and reasonably priced. Service is always friendly and efficient. Plan to go for a proper meal next week, as the food looks so delicious on other tables when we normally leave after our coffee around 1230.

5 of us enjoyed a good traditional breakfast here. Nothing fancy...just good basic cooked breakfast, served reasonably quickly with a friendly smile. Pleasant ambiance right in the middle of the town

I have used this cafe for a number of years during the course of the Isle of Wight Festival.Food is lovely, freshly cooked and of excellent quality. Staff are always friendly and polite. Environment is always clean.Out the back is a lovely enclosed garden, filled with flowers around the boundary, lovely place to sit and have breakfast weather permitting.Free wifi if needed. Can't rate highly enough

Came in early for breakfast it was great value for money at £5.95 for a large you cant go wrong my only thought is to pay a little more and have better sausages other than that perfect place for quick bite

Visited this busy cafe the other day for breakfast with my boyfriend Extremely good value for money A large breakfast so 2 bacon 2 sausage mushrooms beans etc was only £5.95 bargainThe sausages aren’t the best quality but for £5.95 you just simply cannot complain The staff were all cheerful and polite And when leaving every member of staff that we walked past at least 3 all said “thank you” and for me I find that so lovely It’s just a little bit extra and it defiantly pays off We will be back!

Love this place. Really friendly and welcoming. Sandwiches made to order. Great variety of hot meals. Can get a little busy at peak times but that is a testament to how good it is. Recently taken over by new people who have really kept it going the way it always has been run. Highly recommended

Have just had another great visit to Town Choice Café. Had a lovely freshly cooked breakfast. The staff are friendly and go out their way to help. They can cater for most requirements. Highly recommend. I have heard they do amazing outside catering too.

Me and my fiance came for a nice lunch while Christmas shopping. Oh was we wrong! Ordered a tuna melt witch had a slither of tuna on not what you expect for £4.15. Also we ordered a chicken, bacon mayo baguette, but they forgot the mayo. After waiting 24 minutes for 2 baguettes I was expecting a lot better considering it wasn't that busy at that time. To finish it all off we was only given 1 serviette between the two of us. Very disappointed won't be returning.

£15 for two prawn jacket potatoes- no salad at all included. My nan spoke to the manager and asked why it came with no salad and asked for either a refund or some salad seeing as the price was so ridiculous, she then proceeded to tell us prawns are a luxurious food and are very expensive so if we wanted salad also we could pay extra. My nan mentioned how prawns where no where near that expensive expecially regular prawns! She then proceeded to argue and tell my nan we eat it or leave! Definitely not the way to be speaking to a customer. Manager should be tought customer care! We then sat and ate our Jackets to save wasting £15, they then brought over a complimentary bowl of salad, definitely not enough to make us recommend or re visit!

I came in here on the 12th of September with my family for my daughters birthday lunch. we ordered 2 omelettes, 3 big breakfasts and a tuna jacket. the omlettes werent cooked, the breakfasts were cold and were obviously done with reheated products, and the tuna jacket was cold in the middle. i suggest to everyone to look elsewhere as this whole cafes menu is completely over priced for items that would cost less elsewhere. So save your money and look somewhere else for good food for a good value for money. Oh and also the cleanliness on a scale of 1-10 would be a 2 at a push... tables had crumbs on, they were sticky, and managers were just plain rude to staff.

An ideal café for just a drink or a whole meal. Reasonable prices, friendly efficient staff and quality food. One can sit inside, on the pavement tables or in the rear garden.

It was good, ordered 2 breakfasts - one big one normal or small. As other reviews state, the big breakfast wasn't that big, normally with a big breakfast I can't finish the toast but I finished it including the toast and was still hungry, again as previous reviewers have said, the quality wasn't the best, especially the sausages so 2 stars lost but 1 star gained for the actual place itself, lovely garden, which is a great place to eat, one of those 'tucked away in the middle of town' places & really friendly staff so 1 star gained. 4 stars as a very good overall experience

First time I went in here was with my dad and we went in for a coffee loved the tast so next time we both went into town choice was for a deluxe hot chocolate and we desided to have a sandwich gotta say was a mighty fine sandwich every time I we go into town we will visit town choice for a drink and some times a sandwich if we have time.

Had a veggie breakfast and mushroom omelette with two lattes. The meals when arrived were on small plates but tasted good, so therefore good value for the money.

Great reliable grub greatly cooked . Never had a complaint on quality always served fresh and hot. Plenty of options and a varied menu.

Lovely sandwiches freshly made. My friends were well impressed with service and food especially as we did not have to wait too long for our order.

We stumbled across this cafe by accident and so glad we did! The only other places open at 8am were Costa and Starbucks and we wanted something different. We stopped for a full English and coffee. Staff are ever so friendly and breakfast was cooked to perfection! We sat in the garden by the pond and watched the birds playing. We will definitely return, could not fault!

Stopped by to have an English breakfast this morning with a mug of Latte coffee. I have always had a excellent visit here every time. Really good size breakfast and good value for money. They will always cater for me as I am a Coeliac. The sausage and the toast that I can't eat is substituted with extra egg and a potion of mushrooms.

Wanted somewhere to go for breakfast and our Son suggested this eaterie. Never been before but will DEFINATELY be returning.

Popped in to get a takeaway jacket potato with cheese and beans. Despite new owners they and their staff were friendly and helpful as ever, Did not have long to wait and jacket was really tasty. Will return.

Got our hopes up, thought we would try here for breakfast, went in and asked the lady if they they catered for gf intolerances her reply was no, and didn't offer anything else in which they could do and she wasn't very accommodating on seeing how disappointed we were. So one of us could eat the other couldn't, with that we turned around and left feeling really disheartened, we probably won't return now.

I visited this cafe today in the late afternoon, we only wanted something light and something that could be made and eaten quickly. We settled on a pot of tea for two, I had a sausage baguette with onion, and my grandma had a ham cheese and pineapple melt; we really enjoyed our food as it was made promptly and tasted delicious.

We were visitors to the IOW and looking for a comfy café in Newport having just got off the number 7 bus from West Bay. After some searching we chanced upon the Town Choice Café. Great welcome from the staff, top quality tea and latte served, homely atmosphere. Large selection of food and cakes also sold. We were so impressed we stayed on after coffee for a snack lunch, also excellent. Try it, you wont be disappointed!

We sat outside in a lovely walled garden and enjoyed the best Eccles cakes we have ever eaten along with excellent coffee. Very friendly staff and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Make this your number one destination in Newport.

Inexpensive lunch. One diner had macaroni and cheese which was tasty. The other had corned beef hash which was below standards.

Staff always seem happy and cafe its always clean, tables a bit small and food a bit pricy. The cornbeef hash and bacon and brie baguette very nicely made and looks and taste delicious and home made, a bit like if you just eat at your grans house. I couldn't recomend it more.

I only popped in for a snack and a cup of tea, having walked past the place on a few occasions. The food was freshly cooked and piping hot and the staff were oh so friendly. As I said, a really, really good experience.

A lovely little cafe, well run by friendly staff with a huge selection of food. They have about forty different fillings for sandwiches, large or small baguettes, or bread rolls. Just the job if you are looking for something appetizing for lunch. There's soups, jacket potatoes, cakes, toasties and breakfasts, so you should be able to find something here. All made fresh but the service was brisk. All very clean (including the toilets) and in a good central location. There's a few little steps inside but the main area is flat. There's not a lot of room to manoeuvre but while we were there midday a couple of ladies with pushchairs made it right to the back.

We stopped here for lunch whilst shopping in Newport and had lovely hot sandwiches and baguettes with melted cheese, and nice tea and coffee. The premises are quite small so it is a tight squeeze, but worth a visit for the tasty sandwiches. They have a very large selection and make them fresh on the spot.

We had the breakfast and was very disappointed. to start with it was cold, the sausage was precooked and burned. On the menu it said mushrooms with the breakfast no mushroom come on the plate. The price of the breakfast didn't go with the state of the breakfast. Very over priced. we wont be back

Me and my partner ate here on a rainy day, staff are really good and the food was nice and cafe like. I had the breakfast and it was alright but i thought the value wasn't there. My partner ate one of their rolls, she said it was nicely filled and tasted very good. This was really good value. Overall its a good cafe in the centre of newport with good value and homely service.

This is a lovely looking cafe with friendly and helpful staff. However 5 of us went for breakfast and we were all disappointed. The 3 ladies opted for the standard breakfast and us boys opted for the large breakfast. The small breakfast was served on what lkkex like a sauce, and us guys couldn't have been more disappointed by the pathetic size of the " large breakfast" served on a smaller than average plate. If you like your sausages meaty and full of flavour avoid this place, as the ones we were served were more like tasteless chipolatas. The bacon was dry and the beans were clearly a cheap catering option. The price £5.95 standard and £6.95 for large is definitely way to expensive for such poor quality produce. There is an abundance of his quality produce on the Island, it's a shame non it has found its way into this delightful looking Cafe

Like many other reviewers I go here with my elderly mother. She likes the polite service and cheap eats ( even though she never pays!). The range of food and snacks is good, the coffee is very good without all the latte frappe chino skinny poncyness you get in other overpriced establishments.

I visit most weeks with my brother who has severe learning difficulties. He always chooses here for lunch. The staff always chat to him and he loves the attention. The food is great and reasonably priced and it's such a friendly place.

Every Wednesday I spend the day with my brother, who has Down's Syndrome. Whenever I ask him where he wants to go for lunch, Town Choice is his first choice. This is because the staff talk to him, prepare the exact food that he requires - any adaptations to the menu are no problem - and treat him with total respect. It's a wonderful place.

Popped in for three coffees and two cakes. All terribly good especially the warmed cherry pie which was buttery and light. The Americano a tad weak but fine. Service very pleasant and the atmosphere inside was also very pleasant. No silly piped music! £10 for the three of us.

My dad is 68 and very set in his ways, he likes good honest grub, so the town choice his is favourite cafe in Newport. He always orders the regular breakfast which is valued for money, he doesn't eat beans or tomatoes so the staff are always happy to swap these for extra bacon, sausage or eggs. They have no qualms when he wants to swap things. The staff are friendly, welcoming and always smiling

I always enjoy popping in here for lunch. Great selection of food, and it's always really fresh. Even when it's busy the staff are friendly and you get served pretty quickly. Also a great selection of cold drinks. I love bringing the kids here, plenty of selection so they always get something they really enjoy...even the salad which is always fresh and tasty! Big thumbs up!

We find ourselves in here every so often when in Newport after hearing good things from family members.The quality is OK considering the low price and the staff are always friendly enough.

After reading the recommendations on Tripadvisor we stopped by for Breakfast. On a positive note the place is clean and tidy and was quite comfortable, although the chairs were a bit hard.I had the 'All Day Big Breakfast' which was nicely presented and well cooked. However, its content was very much that of cheap catering food, especially the Sausages, Bacon, and Bread which for the price made it poor value for what it was. A pity really because with better quality ingredients I'm sure I could have recommended it more highly. The issue is that had I wanted catering food I could have simply crossed the road to the Cafe in Morrisons, and paid half as much for the same thing.

We found this café by chance while driving around the town and looking for a car park space. We decided to go in here as I prefer something really different from the popular chain cafes. We had a breakfast and really enjoyed it. We opted for toasted cheese, melted baguette with sausage, bacon and cheese, and latte for a drink. All was fresh and delicious. The menu looks good with a wide selection of food and drinks.I was here only once so I can’t say much but would definitely come back on my next visit to Newport.

Popped here on a whim for a quick bite at lunchtime and I wasn't disappointed. From the moment you step in the door, you are greeted by warm, friendly staff so for a first impression, what more could you ask for...I opted for a quick snack which was a toasted cheese onion and tomato baguette, caramel shortbread and a drink. A little over £6 which is fine as the food was homemade and delicious I may add. Can't really say much else apart from the whole place was clean, tidy and welcoming so a glowing review really.If I am back in Newport again then I will be back for more food.

Changing buses in Newport, we had time for morning Coffee plus a snack and popped into Town Choice which is close to the Bus Station. We were greeted by a bright and cheerful interior with an impressive array of hot and cold meals clearly set out on the walls. Friendly, efficient staff added to our enjoyment and we will certainly ensure we make more time on a later visit to sample the full menu. It was an added bonus to be able to sit in the excellent rear garden in the sunshine watching the birds busily building nests nearby.

As a family we have been going back to this wonderful place, and have never managed to sample the whole menu - yet! The busy kitchen is in full view, and always neat and clean.
