Under new management, with a well stocked bar serving a good selection of beers, with ciders, cakes and excellent coffee too.

love this place. It's still quite newly opened but there's already so much to like. the industrial heritage building and warm but understated decor are excellent. there's a great selection of beers and wines, and i love that you can have coffee and cake instead of alcohol. the staff are very friendly and helpful. The outdoor seating area is perfect if the weather's ok - with fabulous views, and the option to get a delicious cheese box from the wonderful cheese shop next door. After just a couple of visits it's a firm favourite. Go!!!!

This bar is a find. It has become one of my favourite bars in the are. First it is in a fantastic location. It is right above the river/bridge. There are picnic tables outside when during the day/fine evenings you can sit and enjoy a drink with a great view. Inside the bar area is bright and clean and many of the windows give a view, too. It is built inside an old mill and so is a cool old building. I really like the old pubs -that are common in this region -- the ones with the olde oak beams and low ceilings . But this has a different architecture and a bit of a different feel to it which is nice - and makes for a nice change. The staff are fantastic -- warm and very friendly. They are a big plus to making the place welcoming -- even on a rainy Sunday night when there aren't many other customers around ! The beers are mostly local beers from the same town (hats off to the local brewers btw) and there is a choice of 5 or so on tap, plus wines/coffee. As of the time of writing it is still in the early stages of opening up.. past the 'soft' opening stage but still early days. A food service is coming to the bar soon. Right now there isn't hot food. During the day you can order a cheese basket from the deli directly across from the bar. ( the cheese btw is excellent ... as is the cheese shop itself.. .tho; the basket could use a few more crackers ) It really is a very nice place in a great spot in a cool old building and has a nice vibe to it. It's very definitely _not_ a chain pub. We've now been 2 or 3 times and liked it very much every time. We will be going back...

while this place has just opened, it has carried on from where The Shrub Club has left off. Very expensive and no cask ales. No atmosphere.
