Top Chef in Nottingham

I have used this same only chinese for the last 11 years to find that now I am no longer able to order via phone and pay by card, the only way is to be forced to pay £8 more than the total of my order by ordering off just eat or uber. so disappointed I have to find another place

We have been a customer of Top Chef since my Partner moved to Notts 9 years ago. Never had a cause to complain. However, since Christmas '23, it has been nothing but disappointment. I will never order from here again. Food started being delivered 2 - 3 hours after we had been given a time. They don't answer their phones when I try to call, the food has become average, and for two nights running now we have ordered, money was taken from us but the order was cancelled very soon after being accepted. Leaving us out of pocket until a refund was processed. It's bad practice and it seems they wouldn't know customer service if it slapped them across the face! Very poor!, very disappointed!!

woman taking order is just rude talks to her customers like rubbish I'l no longer eat here due to her ignorance. Customer service is not even half a star

I was a student in Nottingham for 6 years and this was the BEST CHINESE TAKEAWAY EVER. I’ve moved back to Wales and my friends have moved back to London and we all agree we have not found a better Chinese since. I now refuse to eat any Chinese takeaway. Me and my friends have booked a hotel in Nottingham for one night just to eat Top Chef. It’s amazing we love it and talk about it all of the time and miss it so so so so much.

Don’t recommend it at all. We ordered on Uber eats, they accept the order and when we was meant to collect it, the woman that works there cancelled it. As we was already there waiting for our food at the place we asked if there was a mistake and she very rudely replied: Yes, I just cancelled. What a waste of time and how disrespectful to be treated this way.

I have been eating from this fine takeaway for years. I love their authentic cuisine... They are competively priced... Always greeted with a smile... I don't eat Chinese from anywhere else!!!

FOOD NEVER ARRIVED, I tried to call 17 times (literally) and it was busy all the time. Trying to get my money back

Not very nice people the women behind the counter who served me was very rude and disgusting when i asked her to stop coughing over my food it's a horrible disgusting place and they do not even have the proper clothing they should be wearing in a kitchen how they get away with it god knows.

Very rude disgusting lady not sure if she was Chinese or wherever she was from I called to ask if there was gluten in her chips I was going to order for someone that has food allergies all she needed to do was check since she gets it frozen in a very rude way told me to order from somewhere else She needs to learn how to speak to people No customer service whatsoever Customers are paying your bills

It one of the best Chinese take away that i had at Nottingham. Love it.

Ordered on UberEats but the service was amazing so just wanted to thank the staff at TopChef. Ordered the wontons but asked for them to be swapped for plain noodles if they contained seafood and not only did they kindly do the swap, but they also gave a free coke due to the price difference! Food was piping hot and really good too.

Probably the best Chinese takeaway in central Nottingham. Service verging on rude but hey, food's great so I don't care😎

I ordered a meal to be delivered from Top Chef in Sneinton, after 1hour 25mins my food had not arrived so I rang to find out it's whereabouts, the phone rang for a while then I was cut off ?? Needless to say my meal never arrived so I will never order any food from Top Chef again absolutely pathetic service.

Avoid going this place there Disgusting behaviour avoid using them women on the till is discuss me no bloody manner I don’t even want to rate them one star

Rude, won’t answer the phone and if you complain you are banned from using them again. Avoid

Lovely food but disgusting behaviour. Terrible, terrible customer service. The owner is extremely rude over the phone and in person. Their driver is very, very slow. Most orders are 2-3 hours late with no offer of apology. Once a loyal customer, we will never be ordering from here again because you simply do not care about your customers.

Order should’ve been here 50 mins ago, rang when it was ten mins late and was told it would be with us within 10 mins… still not here. Don’t order with these jokers

Average food, rude service and 8 times out of 10 food is late even if I choose to pick up. Avoid and choose somewhere else.

Food took 3 hours to get after ordering. Placed a delivery but had to get it as 2.5 hours after ordering and saying it's on its on its way it clearly wasn't. Took phone off the hook . Missing items and food was not great.

**AVOID IF WANT FOOD** TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! What a shambles of a place. I used to rate this place but it has gone down hill massively. They have always been terrible at delivering within an hour and half but the food used to be nice so it made up for it. The last time i ordered, it wasn't its usual standard but thought it was just a one off. However, i thought i would try again and attempt to order. Called them at 6.15 with and 1h 15min delivery time. That was 2 and half hours ago and now they dont even pick up the phone. Prob done myself a favour. Dont waste your time with this hole.

One of the much more affordable chinese takeaways near the centre and now after several orders is my go-to. I’ve almost always been satisfied, the chicken satay is amazing and a must-have. There are unfortunately a few misses on the menu though - I would not recommend here for sweet and sour fans but otherwise it’s cheap and cheerful :)

Absolutely disgusting chow main tasted of fish chips was not cooked chicken balls was so small and full of dough curry sauce was powdery the only half decent thing was the prawn crackers and most if them was hard used to be a nice Chinese dont no what happend to it

Been ordering from here for years. They've always bought me the right order and top quality food. They have the best bean curd in satay sauce skewers. The satay sauce is high quality and thick consistency unlike some other Chinese takeaways I've had that watered it down. Lovely staff & delivery drivers. Great vegan options & decent prices.

A really good Chinese restaurant / Takeaway. Delivery only at the moment, however, fast delivery if you order on-line. Food is excellent and pipping hot when it arrives. Offers free prawn crackers when spending £10 or more!

Amazing food and Customer service was awesome, I changed my order by phoning them after ordering from Just Eat, really lovely lady i spoke too. Nothing was to much trouble and I have to really say, Best Chinese in the city. Make sure you eat here. Thank you for a really good meal xx

was told 1 hour 15 mins for delivery but took 2 hours and 20 minutes to eventually arrive,,, and was also lied to when u rang up to chase my order,,, she said be with me in 15 minutes maximum,,, but took 50 minutes to turn up,,, IME NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE SERVICE,,,

Used this place for about 15 years but have just been treated so rudely on the phone, never again. Was told they don't deliver to my postcode and before I got chance to say "never mind, I'll collect" the lady hung up on me. Rang back to explain and just got " OK, what do you want". Perhaps sorry would have been more appropriate?

The Chinese lady is so rude! I made an order and tried to sit down to eat, she kicked me out! Lol saying this is supposed to be take away! And they had seats 6 seats, all empty lol what's the point of ordering from here if you can't even eat anything inside when its freezing outside! They shouldn't be selling food, food comes with hospitality!!!

One of the best Chinese I've had

Used to go to Top Chef for years. Its Sweet & Sour Chicken HK-style was excellent, lemon chicken also. Chicken or beef with green peppers & black bean sauce sometimes outstanding - can taste the fresh ingredients in it.

70 minutes late, food cold when received

As always, the food was great. But it was delivered 90 minutes later than it should have been with no communication from them. Took me more than an hour to get through to the restaurant. I respect the business could have been busy, however if there was any kind of delay, a phone call would have been appreciated

First time ordering from here but will definitely be ordering again! Food was lovely and arrived early! Very reasonably priced with lots of options and variety for non meat eating customers! vegetarian mock duck pancakes were the best I’ve had!

Food 39 mins late and driver took 15 mins to find my address food had to be sent back as it would have been cold and soggy . Very bad service shocking !

the 'creamy' Thai green curry was seasoned water with chunks of veg and boiled chicken. It's wasn't creamy. It was disappointing. Would NEVER order this. Singapore fried rice was better. Enjoyed it.

Spent over £7 on a shredded quarter duck, only to receive a duck breast cut in to cubes and the container wasn't even half way full!! Shocking. Will NOT be ordering from there again.

Delivered about 15 minutes after we ordered which makes you wonder if it's freshly cooked. Egg fried rice had no egg in it and the crispy aromatic duck was tiny rock hard pieces of meat that tasted of nothing. Salt and pepper chicken wings were all batter with dry shrivelled chicken and the bones we're dark brown almost black. Absolutely disgusting will definitely not be ordering from here again and would strongly recommend others don't if they actually want decent food

Food delivered to apartment door on time. Great service in that respect! Food was average. Didn’t specify that the salt and pepper chips were actually deep fried. They we too sickly because of the batter. The portion of crispy chilli beef was tiny aswell and not much sauce so quite dry.
